Yah I figure the voting is what will matter. But doing some sims could be fun. I'll do them anyway cause I'm curious but it's up to you guys if you want me to post some results.

If we do the whatifsports idea then yah that's how we'll do it.

To add a 2nd color to my team. The FLYING DUTCHMAN!!! Rik Smits, C - At 7'4, he gives me size off the bench and his offensive skills (at his peak averaged 19/7/2) are a nice counter balance to the grit and defense provided by, well, all my other big men. Smits was known for his shooting ability and was a near 80% free throw shooter (excellent for a big man). He was also a clutch playoff performer and someone who showed up to play every game. A fan favorite and very easily coachable, he'll fit in very well on my team and provide some energy and charisma off the bench.

Why does everyone keep talking about the Malkin-Crosby-Hossa line? No such line exists. The only time they play together is on the powerplay. Crosby and Hossa play with Dupuis and Malkin plays with Malone and Sykora. I don't think Crosby and Malkin have taken more than 10 even-strength shifts together in the playoffs.

I was debating taking him when I picked Paul Pierce... It was between him, Pierce or McGrady. I didn't want to take T-Mac or Carter because of their atittude problems... Where as I took Pierce because he would play great with my team and has the right kinda attitude to be succesful. I wouldn't say T-Mac has an attitude problem. I think it's more that he just can't handle being 'the' guy. On a proverbial all-star team such as all of these are, he'd be ideal. Well another factor is he folds under pressure, although I have Isiah Thomas who would shoulder all of the pressure... I just felt Pierce is a better fit for my team. Oh I like Pierce better too. My point was just that the issues plaguing Vince and T-Mac are very different. Vince can be 'the' guy under pressure and carry his team to greatness, he chooses not to. Tracy just can't do it.

I liked it but didn't love it. It's not up there with Raiders or Crusade but it's not an embarassment to the series either. I'd probably put it a bit above Temple of Doom. Both are similar in that there's some really gtood stuff but also some stuff I really don't like. The good definetely outweighs the bad though (in both cases). Particular things I want to note:

First off: Damn you alf for stealing my sleeper pick. I honestly thought he was going to slip to me. Second: Best of 5 works as does best of 3. Gives people time to adjust line-ups between games. Finally: My pick... I can't believe this guy is still available; the last 'Converse Weapon' left: Mark Aguirre, G-F Career Average: 20PPG, 5RPG, 3APG - I need points off my bench and someone who could score in bunches and, boy, he sure could score (5 times finished top 10 in scoring i nthe 1980's). Plus, he proved with the Pistons that he has no problem coming off the bench and contributing. He's a great counter-point to Ray Allen as they may rotate as starters based on the opponent. By far, the weakest defensive player on my team but since everyone else so far is solid to excellent, I can live with one average defender.

I have an account on there so I can make fantasy teams using anyone you want. Just when you send your final rosters pick which season from the players career you want to use. We'll do a tournament of some kind, I got enough free time at work to run it. I can just put up all the box scores/results here. We can do a March Madness type tourney. Three best rated teams get byes. I'm thinking once one round's results are up, players have a certain amount of time to send their starters etc. for the next game. This way you can play with match ups and change it up based on opponent.

Do you wanna do the "everybody ranks the other 15 rosters from 1 to 15" like in the NBA draft?

I know we're voting on the teams but I also think it'd be interesting to maybe do a little season/round robin/tournament on WhatIfSports featuring our teams to see how the sim would go. We could sim the games, post the results and link to the box scores. Anyone interested in this?

I would think the manager/wrestler thing should be like in the NBA. Can be picked once and teams should be picked separately. In my opinion atleast. More challening that way.

You have one of my favorite teams actually. Ditto. Unlike some of the teams, I can actually see CC's team working together and envision them being great.

I'm amazed someone else even remembers him. Good thing I took him since I really wanted him on my team. Plus the next guy I had pigeon-holed is still on the board (although a long way to go to me) so it may work out perfect.

This is funny, Beasley and Rose will go to 2 teams who could probably compete for the playoffs (in the Bulls case maybe more) as it is. Rich get richer...

I was under the assumption Marion sticks around. If he does, you can have a starting 5 of Rose/Wade/Marion/Haslim/???. That's a playoff team in the East without a doubt. The Bulls fall under this category too but they don't have one of the high percentages so it doesn't apply to them as much.

If Miami wins the lottery then it's 1997 all over again. A team with a lot of talent that had an off-year for whatever reason gets lucky and gets better while the scrub teams stay the same.

I joked with a friend that Horry was going to piledrive Kobe at midcourt then act shocked and argue with the ref when they throw him out of the game. Maybe Bowen or Horry will deliver a dive for the ball elbow to Kobe's bad back when they're going for a loose ball. Then they'll make the case they were just going for the ball......with their elbow........at Kobe's lower back....... Then the Spurs fans will erupt and chant 'Horry' while the trainers help Kobe limp off in pain. Then we get the standard interviews after the game talking about "experience, defense and clutch play" that Horry provides.

Like Bill Simmons said a few months back, don't be shocked if LA beats the Spurs in game 7 with like a 45-15 free throw advantage.

I'm hoping for a Celtics/Spurs finals but I'd bet on Spurs/Pistons. Celtics/Spurs would be really intriguing with the, possible, team of the decade looking to repeat against 3 long time fan favorites looking for their first ring. I'd settle for Celtics/Lakers though. I REALLY don't want the Pistons in there although I don't really see Boston beating them.
