Hey what do you know, the Senators have a pulse. A vague one but atleast something. -
Great choice. Excellent album.

The Penguins looked amazing all game and it would've been 8-0 if the Pens weren't shorthanded the entire game. However, hard to tell if that says that much about them or more about how depleted the Sens are by this point. -

Thats if Joe Thorton actually plays. I don't think he's played a playoff game yet in his career. He had 11 points in 11 games last year, and 9 points in 11 games the year before. His playoff career points-per-game stats are skewed by his rookie year (zero points in six games, but with 4th line numbers) and the brutal 0-fer he had against the Canadiens when he had broken ribs. The "Thornton sucks in the playoffs" meme is relatively inaccurate IMHO. I think the "Thornton sucks in the playoffs" is more about his teams choking than his point totals. -
Bibby was the only guy on those Kings teams earlier in this decade who actually showed up in big games rather than choking. He could be huge against Rondo. It'll be a fun series but Boston should dominate.

I don't know for sure if this happened but I'd assume Phil Jackson has won COTY when Michael Jordan won the MVP? Oh no it's happened before, in both leagues. The debate going on in NBA circles though is whether it's contradictory when both awards are generally regarded as going to the one person most important to their teams success. -

Colorado's has MORE than enough talent that coaching them to barely making the playoffs is not a coach of the year accomplishment. Boudreau is hurt by Ovechkin taking the Hart. Same argument is going on in the NBA right with Chris Paul/Byron Scott: how do you give the same team MVP and coach of the year? It's a contradiction in some way. I think Carbonneau should and will win it. -
Yah I figured, so yah my pick is Lies. And I'd want them cause I REALLY like some of the songs (Civil War, November Rain, Don't Cry, You Could Be Mine, Estranged)...just a shame so many others arer bascially unlistenable. PS: you got the wrong album for me. I'm talking the original GnR Lies from 1989. The 2 CD's have a very different song order.

I didn't say their less tested than the Raptors but they sure as hell are less playoff tested than the Cavs, Celtics or Pistons. And, unlike the other 3, the Raptors have been consistently strong against Orlando and match up well against them, particularily at the point where no one on the Magic is in the same stratosphere as Ford or Calderon.
-
Yah I figured as much but it's worth asking.
-
When healthy, the Raptors have had their number. In head to head, Bosh owned Howard this season. And, plus, I'd rather face the untested Magic than LeBron, the Pistons or the Celtics.
-
You put up a good fight but the overall balance of my team (particularly my comeback in the assist category) really stood strong. Time to win the championship...
-
Hmmm what should we go with now, ah I know: 'Lies' by Guns N Roses - I definetely want some GnR with me and since 'Appetite' is gone, I took the next best thing. I can't decide which 'Use Your Illusion' I like better and both have WAY too much filler to take just one of them (if I could take both, I would but I don't think I'm allowed to) while 'Lies' is leaner and much closer to the angry vibe of 'Appetite' than the schizophrenic tone of the double album. Plus I need the angry racist, homophobic hate of One In A Million when I'm stuck for eternity. PS: Would I be allowed to count Use Your Illusion as one double album? If so, then I'll change my choice.
-
If Pittsburgh wins then round 1 has 3 great rivalries in the East: NJ/NY, PHI/PIT and MON/BOS. Awesome. The down side is the Sens getting stuck with the one team that swept them during the season.
-
Wow the Raptors are bombing down the stretch. I just hope we pass Philly and get the Magic in round 1. A very winnable series is the Raps get their act together.

I like some of my albums to come a bit better but I knew there'd be plenty of interest in College Dropout so that's why I took it high. I love the album and wouldn't want to miss out on it.
-
'The College Dropout' by Kanye West - Probably my favorite album of this decade. Easily Kanye's best work as, if you skip the skits, there isn't one bad song. The 'All Falls Down' -> 'Never Let Me Down' and 'Two Words' -> 'Last Call' sections are two of my favorite song streaks I've ever heard on a rap album. I still listen to this album regularily and it still sounds as fresh as the day it came out and never gets overplayed (unlike Kanye's other two album which don't have anywhere near the repetitive value).

If not Ovechkin, Iginla is definetely my next choice. The Flames have great support on D and in goal and, at best, will barely make the playoffs and may finish with less points than Washington (playoffs or not) so I think Ovechkin is still a head up over Iginla. And Buffalo had like 4 or 5 games in two weeks where they scored 6 or 7+ goals. That really inflated their total.
-
Malkin would never win, he's got way too much of a supporting cast. I'd say Iginla and Kovalev are the next 2 after Ovechkin eventhough, playoffs or not, Ovechkin should win it.

Also many people, including you it seems, fail to realize how well balanced my team is. The only true weakness I have is FG%.

The Best Sports Movie of All Time
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to foleyfanforever88's topic in Television & Film
I really like Tin Cup. The end is very different for a sports movie and Don Johnson plays a great asshole -
Taking Bargnani out of the starting line up was big too. Nesterovic has been very good and is more suited to be a starter than Bargnani who is way too inconsistent.
