    This week in the NBA

Good win for the Raptors. I still think that, despite their struggles, the Raptors can very easily upset Orlando, can push Cleveland to the limit and can, atleast, give Boston or Detroit a hard time. If I were the 4 top East teams, I would not want to play Toronto.

    Need help identifying a movie

Hmm that seems like it's a match (and Thora Birch does kinda look like a young Christina Ricci so I see why he could've made that mistake), I'll get him to double-check but the story seems spot on. Thanks for the help.

    Need help identifying a movie

My friend keeps ranting to me about some movie he saw late night on TV years ago. He doesn't remember the title at all and he thought Christina Ricci was in it but, looking at her filmography, she wasn't. All he remembers is the plot which goes something like: An outcast girl has a crush on some popular guy but him and his friends always pick on her. Somehow they all end up locked somewhere (an old military bunker is what he remembers) and cannot get out. Eventually some of them end up eating each other and in the end, only the girl and the guy she likes are left. She reveals that she set it up all along and that she had the key to get out and eventually she leaves and leaves him looked in there. Something like that. Anything like this ring a bell to anyone?

Shawn Kemp. He had a decent career and some great years but he had potential for so much more if not for his cocaine, alcohol and weight problems.

'New Jersey', Bon Jovi - My favorite album by my favorite band. Pretty simple eh? Also it's Bon Jovi's best blend of everything I love about them: the 80's party music, the western symbolism/cowboy mythos and the cheesy yet great power ballads. For my money, this is Bon Jovi at their best. Ironically, despite being my favorite Bon Jovi album, it doesn't have any of my 3 favorite Bon Jovi songs on it.

'Supernatural', Santana - One of the best selling albums of all-time, featuring the biggest hit of the 1990's, just abotu everyone has heard this album. The main knock on it is that it doesn't flow too well and is eclectic but there is such a wide variety of genres, artists and styles on the album that flow can be forgiven. Unexpectedly phenomenal songs such as "Put Your Lights On" and "Maria Maria" highlight one of the most purely enjoyable albums of recent times.

So with the Los Ice Creams free-falling, it's me and Orange Jews battling for first. This should be fun, I like my odds.

Here's a question that could be fun: Who will be considered the better player once they both retire: Kobe or LeBron?

I think guys like Ken Griffey Jr., A-Rod and Frank Thomas still get in easily. The only, previously Hall of Fame bound, guys that I think will be hurt are McGwire, Sosa, Bonds and Clemens. And a lot of the wrestler deaths owe just as much, if not more, to painkillers as steroids. If there was a hall of fame vote for every active player in baseball who do you think would be the most unanimous selection at this point in time?

Floyd Mayweather vs The Big Show

Seeing Mayweather prove, last night, that he's willing to take bumps really makes this more interesting. Plus the whole posse war is really well done as well.

Great game in Phoenix. Shaq was dominant and the Suns D finally woke up. I still think the Suns are better with Shaq and games like today prove it.

"Xxplosive" used to get a fair amount of burn at high school parties way back when. "Let's Get High" and "Bang Bang" for that matter, too. I've seen "Fuck You" be popular at parties and "The Watcher" for mellower moments. This is why I pick that CD, damn near every song has memories attached to it and/or can set the mood.

Probably Tyson/Spinks. Just a massacre from the word "go." The Broncos/49ers and Bears/Patriots Super Bowls both came to mind, as well as the 62-3 Jags/Dolphins playoff game. In baseball, I'd have to go with this game between the Brewers and Blue Jays in 1992, when the Brewers set club records for runs (22) and hits (31). Something reminded me of the list of the 50 greatest NBA players, and it got me to thinking of this question...looking back on the list now, given what's happened in the past twelve years, who would you add to the list, and who would you remove? I would add: For Sure: Dominique Wilkins Tim Duncan Kevin Garnett Kobe Bryant Bob McAdoo Maybe: Jason Kidd Steve Nash Allen Iverson Eventually (for sure): LeBron James I take out: Scottie Pippen Lenny Wilkens Robert Parish Hal Greer Dave Bing Just bumping this question up to get more responses.

    Recommend a Sports Book

:07 Seconds Or Less by Jack McCallum - A fascinating book about the Phoenix Suns 2005-06 season. A lot of interesting behind the scenes stuff (especially about Marion's fragile psyche, Barbosa's inability to communicate with anyone but Mike D'Antoni's brother and D'Antoni telling Tim Thomas "we're not gonna resign you so play your ass of and get a contract and then be lazy") and a nice insiders look at those two great LA series that year and the loss to Dallas. Really good read.

'Chronic 2001' by Dr. Dre - When I need some music to chill and vibe too while getting my drink on, nothing can top this album. While it contains some filler, the good on here is VERY good and is one of the best albums ever for making your trunk rattle and possibly damaging your speakers. Plus, who hasn't been to a party where this CD was playing repeat?

I'm not ready to rwrite the Shaq trade off yet. I still think Phoenix will be much better by playoff time. And, yes, they will make it in.

No. The NBA was way too stacked throughout the 1990's. Did Iverson deserve MVP in 01 or should it have went to Shaq?

'All Eyez On Me' - 2 Pac - Not as consistent as 'Me Against The World' but this is still Pac's masterpiece. Running the gamut from introspection (I Aint Mad At Cha) to anger (2 Of America's Most Wanted) to lady-pleasers (How Do U Want It) to somber tributes (Life Goes On), this album has everything and then some. It may have some filler and some unnecessary guest appearances but that's the nature of the game on a double album, especially on one that is the perfect representation of an artist in his prime who is confused about his place in this world (which definetely describes Pac) and is firing at it with all cylinders. Plus bonus points for having 2 of Pac's all-time great songs that I haven't mentioned yet: California Love and, the very underrated, Wonder Why They Call You Bitch.

    TSM NBA H2H: Year 5

My next three opponents are in the bottom half of the league, Im hoping Ive got second sewn up. Dirk had to come on eventually! I should've never given up second but no one on my team, outside of AI, has ever heard of consistency. I'm against last place this week though, so it's not over yet. .

    TSM NBA H2H: Year 5

I'm in a tough battle for 2-3rd place with Orange Jews. He's been on fire and I had a bad week two weeks so I'm down to 3rd. I'm leaning towards AI, Chandler and Redd as keepers. Iverson and Chandler I'm certain on, while Redd I'm debating. Corey Maggette might be worth keeping over him.
