Does anyoen if they air repeats of the new episodes of Las Vegas at any point? I missed last night's and the thing on the NBC site to watch the repeat doesn't seem to be working.

I like Can't Forget About You and Let There Be Light best. The Nat King Cole addition to Can't Forget About You is brilliant. And I agree, I like the Game song better than the Jay one. Black Republicans is in the bottom half of the album for quality I'd say.

Lawler's call during the Hulk-Up in Hogan/Rock1: "Can you believe it JR? Whatcha gonna do Rock, whatcha gonna do?!" -
Tell me about it. I'm forced to tape it every week cause I'm never home then. It's annoying. Am I the only one who really enjoys the Sam/Woody crossovers? Those two are hilarious together.

But it has to be real. We've seen the Montecito in Crossing Jordan and Heroes. In all seriousness, if anyone asks you where the Montecito is, they deserve at the very least a slap upside the head. Which you'd think he'd have gotten over since Sarasvati was seemingly quite into him last season. The Montecito appeared in Heroes? Another crossover like Crossing Jordan was? And Sarisvati is a fun character. They should give her something to do once in a while, she could make for some fresh episodes.

Yah they dug themselves into a hole wiht Lara Flynn Boyle's character and picked a really dumb way to get out of it. This season's going much better though. And Nessa was a much more interesting character than Mary is/was. Too bad they turfed her. Anyone know why they decided to write her out?

Word going around is that Lovie is giving Grossman the first half against STL to show something or he's benched for Griese. I got this from WGN News so take it for what it's worth.

Too bad both Sam and Delinda totally run laps around her in the hotness department. I don't get what people see in Nikki Cox. Her tits are nice but those are a dime a dozen. Nothing else about her stands out in the least.

They're trying to hard to make him and Mary comic relief since every primary story revolves around Ed, Danny and Delinda. Mike is losing some of his charm from the first two seasons cause they're trying TOO hard to make him funny. Which is a damn shame because his friendship with Danny has a real nice charm to it. It's a dramatic version of Chandler and Joey, really. Yah the Danny/Mike dynamic is the only one on the show that's as interesting as Ed/Danny. One of my favorite subplots from last season was the whole thing about whether they were only work friends or real friends. Mary, however, is a totally useless character now who adds nothing to the show

starvenger pretty much nailed it. It's a good time show. Nothing too dramatic, too tense or too emotional but enough to keep you wondering, sometimes, how things will end. It's got doses of soap opera, action and comedy. It's got a lot of good looking people (and James Caan) and all of the characters are likable and quirky enough. The setting is pretty interesting in itself and since they've long given up on realism, it's much more lighthearted than most other things on TV. Plus they're usually really good with guest stars since they get more than any other current show I can think of.

Took me a few minutes to accept that it was him. His face has gotten so pudgy, he looks a bit like Tony Curtis. Did he get a cool death atleast? Technically, he's not dead... at least not by the end of the ep he wasn't... Can you tell me what happened? My tape ended right as Ed was in the desert with that leg bomb after the villain betrayed him. Danny found the casket, but there wasnt anythin in it, as the bad guys had Delinda. Danny hid tools in Eds car so he could free himslef of the bomb, which we needed a commecial break to see if he was alive. Ed was to meet the bad guys as long as they bring Delinda. The bad guys did this after all the airports were shut down on terroists alert, due to a call by Danny. It was teh ultimate compromise on both sides Two more bad guys greet Ed at the location that supoose to be 1-1 with Shooter, but Danny amushed the bad guys and left to get Delinda at a gaurded shack. They found the shack cuz Ed put a tracker on Shooter when he punched him earlier. Danny used sum dived and concour tatics and killed the bad guys and saved Delinda while Ed buried Shooter alive in the desert. Thanks.

The One and Only "Casino Royale" Thread
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to Jonathon's topic in Television & Film
Yah but I think the opening stuff you're talking about is necessary to keeping the essence of a Bond movie. At their core, Bond movies are action movies. If people went to see a Bond movie and in 2 hours the only action that they got was the torture and the end shootout, you'd get a LOT of disappointed people. -

I definetely agree on the pacing problems. Once the poker and the love story kicked in, it really started to drag (especially in the 3rd act). Character development is nice but that 3rd act just stopped at a stand-still. I also agree on the villains being a problem. Some of their motives were hardly explained and a lot of it seemed needlessly complicated. Le Chiffre was a decent villain but his lack of henchmen (that bald guy had promise but did nothing) and spoiled him. A good Bond but not great. I really like the direction this took and this was easily better than 2 of the Brosnan movies (Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies were better) but I agree with cabbageboy in that in the next movie, the traditional Bond expectations need to come back. -
After seeing Casino Royale tonight, I'm not sure where I'd rank it. I probably need to rewatch. A very welcome change after DAD but it does drag at times...right around the cusp of the top 10 for me in the 9-11 range.

My top 20 would be: 1. Goldfinger 2. For Your Eyes Only 3. License To Kill 4. From Russia With Love 5. Tomorrow Never Dies 6. The Spy Who Loved Me 7. Dr. No 8. Goldeneye 9. You Only Live Twice 10. A View To A Kill 11. The Living Daylights 12. The World Is Not Enough 13. Live and Let Die 14. Octopussy 15. Diamonds Are Forever 16. The Man With The Golden gun 17. Moonraker 18. Thunderball 19. Die Another Day Haven't seen OHMSS yet.

Am I the only one who thinks Tomorrow Never Dies is by far the best Brosnan vehicle? It's much more intense than Goldneye with a better performance from Brosnan and a MUCH better storyline. Plus the action sequences are pretty spectacular, not to mention it doesn't drag like Goldeneye does. It's one of the very few post-Connery movies, that I could see Connery starring in. I rewatched both recently and Goldeneye left me a bit underwhelemed while Tomorrow Never Dies surprised me.
