    NHL 2006 Off-Season...

The roster player is Joffrey Lupul. Edmonton got raped, badly. Back to a non-playoff team for them. And at Yzerman retiring. One of my favorite athletes ever and he's from my hometown.

    2006 NBA Finals

Nash doesn't belong in the "clutch shooter" group. He's certainly a leader and a deservedly elite MVP-type player, but I don't remember Nash hitting too many memorable game winners like the others described above. Hell Wade and Lebron have only come into their own lately. You're forgetting guys like Iverson and McGrady, btw. I didn't really mean clutch shooter group. Clutch shooter and the guy who gets the ball then does what he wants with it are two different things. Nash might not take the shot but there is no doubt he has the ball and has the green light to shoot anytime he wants. The other 3, well obviously. Dirk, I don't know. He gets the ball but he seems hesitant when the game counts(atleast in the finals, no question he came up big the rest of the playoffs). Plus Avery not going to him is partly inexperience and partly the lack of confidence in Dirk(whether right or wrong). McGrady hasn't been out of the first round and has never carried a team to a playoff series win while I'd rank Iverson a step below those 4(and Dirk for that matter).

    2006 NBA Finals

I don't want to get into the big argument but this is why Dirk Nowitzki is still not in the Kobe/Nash/Lebron/Wade level of elite-ness. Any of those guys would be entrusted with taking the last shot no matter how they have been playing leading up to it. Avery, meanwhile, didn't have the confidence in Nowitzki. And I'm with barron, fuck Alonzo Mourning.

    NHL 2006 Off-Season...

Sens got a tough choice to make. One option rumored around here is copying last year and signing both Redden and Chara then trading one for someone who fits the cap like we did with Hossa. I don't see it working as well a second time though. I'd love to go after Shanahan as his type of grit and winning pedigree is just what the Sens need as guidance, especially ocne the playoffs come around. #1 priority though: Spezza and one of the big 2 D guys.

Top 25 most important bands of 1981-2006

You don't seem to understand the difference between the words "important" and "popular". Ok, how about being the defining band of an entire genre(hair metal/pop metal/whatever you call it), good enough for importance?

Top 25 most important bands of 1981-2006

Yup and Bon Jovi's longevity is nearly unmatched in this era. They've remained relevant and gone platinum off NEW(not older material) records from 1984 to the present with no signs of stopping. Worldwide they have sold as many or more albums than any other artist on that list with only Metallica, Ozzy and AC/DC coming close. They were also the band that defined hair metal and remain the only band to escape hair metal with their popularity and relevance in tact. Even Def Leppard hasn't had a new CD of theirs do good since the 80's. Bon Jovi has survived hair metal, grunge, rap metal and every other fad to remain big. So yah they're not only worthy of inclusion on a list like that but also are, probably, the most underrated band of the past 20 years.

    NBA Playoffs 2006: Conference Semifinals

Phoenix/Dallas could be one of those classic series, the likes of which hasn't been seen since LA/Sacramento in 02. I just pray Miami beats Detroit or the finals will yet again be unbearable.

    Awesome 80s Movie Moments

Some more 'Coming To America': Maurice: Hey, I started out mopping the floor just like you guys. But now... now I'm washing lettuce. Soon I'll be on fries; then the grill. And pretty soon, I'll make assistant manager, and that's when the big bucks start rolling in. ----- Prince Akeem: Sir, I was wondering, did you catch the professional football contest on television last night? Cleo McDowell: No, I didn't. Prince Akeem: Oh, it was a most amazing game. The Giants of New York took on the Packers of Green Bay. The Giants triumphed by kicking a pigskin ball through a big "H". A most ripping victory. Cleo McDowell: Son... I'm just going to tell you this one time. If you want to keep working here, stay off the drugs.

    Awesome 80s Movie Moments

It took 24 posts to get to this??? What the fuck is wrong with you people!? From the same movie: Cook: I'm a Green Beret muthafucka! Matrix: I eat Green Berets for breakfast. Gotta love the little shot at Rambo.

    Awesome 80s Movie Moments

From 'The Running Man': Richards: I'll be back! Killian: Only in a rerun... ----- From 'Lethal Weapon 2', as the South African is shooting Gibson and Glover has his gun pointed at him: Rudd(while pulling out his credentials): Diplomatic immunity! *Murtaugh puts a bullett in his head* Murtaugh: It's just been revoked. ----- In 'Coming To America' where the two guys at the basketball game start bowing to Prince Akeem and the girl asks who they are. His reply, "Oh just a couple of men I met in the bathroom", is priceless. ----- The opening musical montage of 'Rocky 3' with "Eye Of The Tiger" playing. Great contrast between Clubber training and Rocky living it up.

    RIP Proof from D-12

First thing I thought too. "Proof, Eminem's longtime friend, appeared in the film "8 Mile" as Lil' Tic; he also served as Eminem's best man when the rapper remarried his wife Kim Mathers in January (see "Eminem Remarries Ex-Wife Kim Mathers"). Eminem filed for divorce last week." Good old MTV. Nothing is said about the family he leaves behind and whatnot but they make sure to mention Eminem's latest happenings. Anyways, RIP Proof .

    Winter Olympic Men's Hockey Thread

The Fins destroy another second tier team. For what it's worth they pounded Italy worse than Canada did. Finland's building confidence and wouldn't shock me if they went undefeated in the Round Robin.

    Blue Collar

Ever since reading Ebert's review of this I've wanted to see it. Schraeder is a great director and the cast(Richard Pryor, Harvey Keitel & Yaphet Kotto) is excellent. Plus seeing Pryor play the dramatic lead should be fun. Yet no video store has it, on Amazon it's only available for 65$+ Canadian, I don't get it. Does anyone know why this movie is so rare and why it's so out of print?
