Ahh ok then I don't have the July 93 match. I have theo ne where Jannety wins the belt. But I hope this doens't change anythign especially since yuo're getitng the NYC Rumble and the Quebcers title win.
-
Sort of like in 1990 when they found out Lord Alfred Hayes was a heavy roid user.
-
LMFAO!!! I never thought of that. Damn.
-
Hold up I just read something osmewhere andt heres ap roblem. The HBK/Jannetty match from July 93....is that theo ne wehre Jannetty wins the belt?
-
Sting/Vader at SB3 >>> Foley/Vader.

I doubt it. I think plans were changed cause of Taker's injury(don't know when that was). Nothing to do with Hart's overness. It was obvious Taker was getting the belt. Had he not gotten time off Taker would've been champ one way or another.

WWE Superstars comment on Hawk

Some of those are pretty touching. And LOD did revolutionize the business(for better or worse) so you can't take that away from'em. Benoit, HBK and Bubba's are the best ones. Angle's seems more like a biography though. -

A Hardcore Tale - The Legacy of Paul Heyman

- Bash at the Beach'94 featured, along the Hogan/Flair main event, a US title match between Austin and Steamboat. Steamboat's last PPV appearence was at Fall Brawl'94. - Right on Benoit. Still my fault as I never specified the year I was referring to, that being '95. Perhaps, by closing the WCW recap with Starrcade'94, I screwed the thing a little bit. BTW, 2 years ago I wrote a column about the history of the nWo. I just have to translate it to English and add the final stages of the WWE reincarnation. I'm just waiting for the column folder to resurrect. PS: I'm currently posting this column here and there. Please remember I use the 1980MARK nick on Ezboard and OldschoolWrestling forum and THEITALIANJOB on Wienerville. Right on about BATB. But Steamboat I don't think was directly affected by Hogan, although he probably would've been. And Benoit wasn't really held down when he joined in 95. It's a myth that he was because, IMO, joining the most Elite Group in Wrestling, fighting ME'ers like Savage and teaming Arn Anderson week in, week out isn't being buried. 97, now THAT'S a different story. -
Yoko. But like Cawthon said, I think everyone was shocked at how Tatanka was slaughtered. But I despised Tatanka so to this day that's a great wrestling memory I have. Plus the Pinky Pin is my favorite pin ever. I think this was the match that "injured" Tatanka leading him to not wrestle for Team Luger at SS. And this effectively buried him once and for all from getting a big ME or even IC push. BTW was anyone else here a Ludvig Borga mark when he was undefeated in 93?
-
He was still insanely over. He was all the way to his heel turn. And he got slaugthered cause Borga was supposed to be the next WWF champ. And I love that match just cause Borga pins Tatanka with his pinky finger.

A Hardcore Tale - The Legacy of Paul Heyman

Pretty good read cept your WCW facts are wrong. "Chris Benoit, Steve Austin, Ricky Steamboat and Steven Regal were just a few of the dozens of talents that, uh oh, actually delivered in the ring." Steamboat was retired around the time Hogan came in, Austin was gone soon after and Benoit wouldn't show up for another year. They were never all in the same fed at the same time. Unless you count Benoit's brief 93 WCW stint. Good read though otherwise. -
Tough call. The Hogan match had a hot crowd and some decent spots considering it was Hogan and Vince. Plus I marked for Piper. The Flair match was the best actual "match" and had the honor of having WCW's favorite son beat Vince clean in the middle of the ring(plus decent build). Vince/Shane was the big blowoff to all the Vince/Steph/Shane/Linda/Trish storylines, had an insane crowd, holy shit moments and Foley. My preference? Flair. The best? Shane.

The One and Only A Minute with Stan Hooper thread
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin replied to bob_barron's topic in Television & Film
I enjoyed it for the most part. The kid/father subplot was annoying and eveyrone moving in etc. didn't do it for me. The butler is DEFINETELY the best part of the show. -
In the interview I head Savage praised Vince non-stop. But everyone says there's heat between them.
-
To answer my own question I just heard a Savage itnerview. Vince wanted all the older guys out and Savage himself wnated to be a commentator since he felt he was breaking down. He enjoyed doing the part time wrestling gig but got bored of it mid-94. Met with Vince, Vince said he wouldn't bring Savage back full time so Savage asked for an out and got a good deal with WCW. Vince let him go with no bad blood. So now I ask another question, What started the bad blood between Savage and Vince?

Summerslam 98's a better pick than 00 IMO since it's one of the peak shows of Attiutde in it's early days. Or how about Wrestlemania 1? WCW Souled 97? All better than SS00 and Wrestlewar. -

This rules. I'm doing an Elimination Chamber with all the legends + Flair(he's older than half them anyway). Nikolai did a big splash off the top of one of the chambers. -

Exactly. And his punches take so much out of you. Not even power moves, fucking PUNCHES. So UnderBiker is all that and a WWE Title Belt? . Funny you should sya that. He just squashed Brock for the WWE title.
