Similar story in Carolina. Panthers dominate the first two periods and carry a 3-0 lead into the third period, five goals in ten minutes later and the Hurricanes are on their way to a 6-4 victory.

Seems alot like what XPW could have been. That certainly isn't bad in my opinion, I'll definitely have to check out the debut episode.

Reggie Nelson seems to be the most hyped safety at the moment, with LaRon Landry right behind him. Personally, I feel the best all-around safety in this draft is the guy that has been lost in the shuffle, Michael Griffin out of Texas. I certainly wouldn't be against him for the Panthers in the first round.

Yeah, hockey on NBC starts back up this Saturday. I believe Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh is the main game, but they also list two other games that I suppose will be shown in certain areas.

Can't really complain with FSN South. Usually filled with college football on Saturday, mostly Big Twelve and Pac-10. ACC and SEC college basketball coverage throughout the week. Live Carolina Hurricanes' games, tape-delayed Nashville Predators' games. Duke basketball. Everything I would want from them.

Enjoy the regular season victory, the Stanley Cup still sits in the RBC Center. I saw a competitive game that could have gone either way. It isn't like Buffalo dominated the game, pretty far from it. Carolina led about every statistical category, the puck just didn't bounce their way.

Great game tonight between the Hurricanes and the Sabres. Even though the 'Canes lost, I can't really say that I was disappointed in their play because they looked great. They'll continue to build chemistry, Cory Stillman will return in a couple of months, Frantisek Kaberle will eventually return. I think they have a great shot to repeat the success they had last season. I'll also add my Vezina darkhorse, Ryan Miller. He makes EVERY save look so easy.

VERSUS - THE NHL Network...atleast when they feel like it.

While the fact that he wanted to stay in college was a factor, it wasn't the biggest factor in why Johnson was traded. Everyone wants to make Carolina sound like the bad guy, since everyone wants to make it seem like they traded Johnson on the simple fact that he wouldn't join the team this year. It was much bigger than that. From day one, most 'Canes fans felt that Jack Johnson didn't want to play in Carolina. Obviously, in '03, there wasn't much to get excited about within the 'Canes organization. However, we offered him a chance to join the roster for the playoffs and he declined. Then, we offered him the opportunity to simply attend a couple of playoff games at the RBC Center and he even turned THAT offer down. I think that was the major sign that Johnson didn't want anything to do with the 'Canes. Could the 'Canes have gotten a little more for Johnson? Definitely. I think they just took the best offer on the table from a team they knew they would hardly ever play. I don't think any Eastern conference team ever had a serious shot at trading for Johnson, so it was down to the west coast and it looks like Los Angeles made the best offer.

If Los Angeles can get Jack Johnson on the ice, they'll have a franchise defenseman for years to come. Oleg Tverdovsky was thrown into the deal because Rutherford has wanted to get rid of his salary for quite a while, he is solid but definitely not worth the price. Kings' fans seem to think that Eric Belanger was a good player for the new NHL, which should fit right into the type of offense Laviolette likes to run. Hope you're right about Gleason, he was probably the centerpiece of the deal because the 'Canes wanted immediate help on defense. While it hurts to lose a blue-chip prospect like Jack Johnson, I think the 'Canes have a few other defensive prospects with potential to develop into solid NHL players. Atleast Johnson went to a team the 'Canes will hardly ever play.

Carolina Hurricanes trade Jack Johnson and Oleg Tverdovsky to the Los Angeles Kings for Eric Belanger and Tim Gleason.

Anyone else get the Saturday afternoon replays of Smackdown? When did they start doing that?
-
I also heard Mark Recchi left Pittsburgh's game after he was hit in the eye by a stick. Anyone have any information on how he is doing?
-
He was taken to a local hospital. Seems like the natural progression of this entire offseason soap opera.
-
I expect Goldust and Vader to run-in for the save.
-
Cade and Murdoch, every man wishes he could have a backup plan as good as them.
-
What happened to the smart mark crowd in Canada? They sure did turn quickly.
-
I agree with Edge.
-
Wonder how he got the belt out of that lake so quickly.
-
Wouldn't be shocked to hear a "You Screwed Bret" chant for absolutely no reason.
-
Yes JR, it is deafening.
-
I think it's mostly the same, just with a few added clips. I saw Edge being thrown in the lake.

Nobody cares about RAW.

Jack Johnson is back on the trade block for anyone who wants him. http://www.newsobserver.com/796/story/486327.html
