This match has played out like some terrible main event from a 1960s promotion ran out of a YMCA, complete with a dead crowd.
-
Steiner hasn't been that impressive, but he can take bumps. The ability to take bumps is all someone needs for Samoa Joe to be able to carry them to a decent matchup.
-
I think Scott Steiner could have been a pretty major talent if he hadn't taken steroids. He had alot of talent in the early '90s and could've developed into a much better wrestler.

Announcers completely no-sold the low blow.

Why would Chris Daniels bust out his NJPW gimmick for Danbury, CT? Although that would rule. Why would anyone work a show in Danbury, CT? THE MONEY!

Fans on the Edmonton Oilers' message board want the Oilers to start trying to injure Cam Ward...idiots. You also have to laugh at the fact that they felt game two would be the game that decided the series, until they were blown out. Talk shit about the fans, talk shit about the luck, but at the end of the series the 'Canes will be the team with the Cup.

What was the biggest crowd pop EVER?
JustJoe2k5 replied to JimmyHendricks's topic in General Wrestling
How about the near-fall at the end of the Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio vs. World's Greatest Tag Team match at Vengeance '03. They had the crowd wrapped around their collective fingers and they nearly exploded when they thought Kidman and Mysterio had won the titles. -
Love the sell of the boot to the face. I hate Hulk Hogan, so it's always great to see someone make a mockery of him.

I guess this squashes any hopes of Homicide in ECW. I actually think he could have a bigger impact in TNA, I doubt Vince McMahon would ever give him the opportunity to succeed for his company.
-
If weather permits, I hope to be online tonight for the show. Hopefully, we can have some good discussion. Announced matches don't sound spectacular, but should be decent and Sting is always fun to watch.
-
This is pretty funny: http://edmonton.justgotowned.com/

Initially, I also thought that it had skipped over his stick. It was the above-the-goal view that changed the minds of the announcers that changed my mind.
-
The shot from above clearly shows that the puck changed direction once when it hit his skate and then changed direction again when it hit his stick.

As long of a time as he has been an effective faceoff winner, I don't think one team's argument should be taken too seriously. As badly as Brind'Amour beat them in the faceoff circle, they should be looking for some reason why. It's not just the Oilers, Laviolette complained about the same thing, so did Ruff IIRC. But that's besides the point, it's pretty much accepted that whoever cheats better will win the faceoff. The reason that Horcoff is complaining is because when he tries the same things, he gets kicked off the dot, so the linesmen and refs are overlooking Brind'Amour because he's the vet. The officials slant every other call against the Hurricanes, I don't understand why they would suddenly want to help Rod Brind'Amour. Anyone watch the classic NHL games they had on OLN last night? Great stuff, although after seeing the crowds in those games I can't understand why some people still say the Hurricanes' fans aren't loud enough throughout games. Detroit's crowd was pretty much silent the entire game and Philadelphia's crowd wasn't much better.
-
People really DO want to see Vince McMahon's ass.

Nominees for the 2006 MTV Movie Awards
JustJoe2k5 replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
I'm am shocked that Brokeback Mountain is not nominated for every award, MTV LOVED that movie with a passion. I still expect Brokeback Mountain to win every award it is nominated for, which would allow MTV to talk about it even more than they already have. -
I've heard that a few teams have shown interest in Gerber, I believe I read that Detroit has shown the most interest.

The Best of the X-Division Vol. 1 has alot of great matches on it. If you can find the original Best of the X-Division DVD, which highlights the first two years of the division, it is also packed full of great matches. I would also suggest the DVDs that focus solely on a particular talent like Phenomenal: The Best of A.J. Styles, Heaven Sent, Hell Bound: The Best of Christopher Daniels, Nevermore: The Best of Raven, and the upcoming Unstoppable: The Best of Samoa Joe. You really can't go wrong with any of the above DVDs. Each promises you atleast one Match of the Year candidate and plenty of other great matches. Speaking of the Daniels DVD - is it a clipjob? Or are all the matches listed on the back presented in full length? I believe most of the matches are clipped, but not to the point that they feel like more of a highlight than an actual match. I believe the DVD is still about four hours long.

What is everyone's opinion on Cam Ward? Future star at the position or a one-year wonder? I think he proved alot of people wrong with his performance last night, a rookie just isn't supposed to perform that great on the biggest stage in their sport.

OLN had a comparison between Roloson and the Oilers' other two goalies by their regular season statistics with the team. Roloson's GAA was around 2.4, the other two's GAA was like 10.
-
Stupid Canadiens' fans, they actually want to blame the Hurricanes for the injuries to Buffalo's defesemen and Dwayne Roloson. I was actually surprised that Roloson was the only person injured in that collision, all three guys hit one another pretty hard.
-
Carolina is a team based on momentum, once they get the RBC Center rockin' they are a tough team to compete with.
-
Great game, even I thought it was over when the Hurricanes were down 3-1 at the start of the third period. I would like to see Eric Staal step up his game, he hasn't been that effective the past couple of games.

Let's give the World title to the star of Ready to Rumble II: The Mexican Years. WWE has already figuratively made a mockery of everything about professional wrestling, might as well start doing it physically.
