Who would've thought Huey Lewis and the News weren't over?
-
Cena has already lost the crowd.

This RAW feels just as random as that one two years ago where Goldust and Vader returned.

They just WANT Lilian to be a lesbian.
-
They're trying to justify his roided figure. Vince McMahon should just bill every wrestler as a former baseball player, say they were roided-up before he ever got his hands on them.

"Billionaire Ted"-like skits aimed at Congress?

Regal is pretty solid in that role to be honest, he was very entertaining at it some years ago. I don't doubt his ability to play the role, I just don't see how this move will appeal to most fans. The reaction The Sandman received when he apparently won showed that the crowd wanted him to be general manager, the lack of any reaction to William Regal after he won showed that the fans are tired of a bad guy authority figure. Seems like Vince McMahon would rather re-hash old angles with different talent than to take the time to come up with original angles for them.

To quote Tony Schiavone, "William Regal as general manager? Yeah, that'll put butts in the seats." I suppose Vince McMahon just doesn't care about the state of his television show.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

Just book a re-draft after SummerSlam. Get rid of the general managers and assistant general managers, and just have Vince McMahon as the main authority figure on both shows. -

Click on the upper left-hand corner of the page. Read the blog, very poetic. At that show you attend, you'll either see the continuation of one odd angle or you'll witness a mass murder.

Who do you think the action figures and toy belts are made for? WWE markets to children, so they have just as much of a right to attend the shows as anyone else. -

Just to add to the above. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20460 That guy collected alot of the information about it. That may be the root of the "Project 161" name. Some speculate it could be the return of Jimmy Jacobs. http://www.abusedsociety.com/

That's what Gabe posted about the situation at the Ring of Honor message boards. You'll also find fourteen pages of people who think Gabe is God. People don't know whether it is a work or a shoot.

The Next Gen Hart Foundation debut on OVW TV [JULY 28, 2007]
JustJoe2k5 replied to Oldschool's topic in The WWE Folder
Too bad Juventud Guerrera isn't still on the roster. Put Juventud Guerrera/Teddy Hart as the opener on either RAW and Smackdown, hope the two of them re-capture that magic from TNA's X-Cup, and watch the crowd get into it. -
The Next Gen Hart Foundation debut on OVW TV [JULY 28, 2007]

I know this isn't the thread for this, but I felt a response was warranted. Cena does seem like an all-around good guy, but I think we can all agree that we just want something different. They can only ride this whole "overcoming the odds" thing with Cena for so long. Looks like the recent dip in ratings is an indication that a lot of people are getting tired of the same old act. Maybe the answer isn't putting the title on Orton, but WWE does need to try something different. On topic though, since Teddy Hart has apparently been on his best behavior since reporting to OVW, contrary to internet rumors, a humbling may not be necessary. Someone just needs to hammer it home with him that just because of who he's related to, he doesn't get the world handed to him. I elect Triple H...maybe not. I wouldn't be surprised to see Teddy Hart have a short stay with WWE once he is called up. He's the type of personality that won't set back and take the "initiation" crap that older guys like to pull on the younger guys. The first time J.B.L. tries to step in the shower with him, Hart will likely do a moonsault and walk out of WWE. -
Keep your eye on the RAW preview, "Mr. McMahon Strikes Back" will likely vanish soon.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

Good question. I honestly can't think of one. A compelling storyline is easy. It's making it work in the context of a wrestling program that hinders any potential. Jimmy Loves Lacey is one of most brilliant stories done in wrestling and works on all levels because the wrestling advances the story itself. The quality of story just makes the in-ring product more meaningful. But it's a storyline centered around a woman, which has been done before. It's easy to take an older storyline and improve upon it, but to come up with a completely original angle that hasn't been done before is tough. -

Drugs, drugs, drugs, drugs. Jeff Hardy does drugs. He snorts drugs. Smokes drugs. Ingests drugs. Drugs. He's immature because he could be a main eventer but insted he does drugs. He was sent home because he does drugs. Drugs. Is that clear enough for you? You're saying it was drugs then? That leads me to believe it was some sort of prank or practical joke gone wrong.

Don't let Vince hear that. Batista would be shipped to RAW in no time.
-
That 1/3 was united in their disgust at the absence of Jeff Hardy.
