So now that Samoa Joe has beaten C.M. Punk and Homicide numerous times, and Austin Aries should be considered better than Samoa Joe since he beat them. Who is left to challenge Aries?

Carolina Panthers sign FS Idrees Bashir from the Indianapolis Colts. Anybody have any information on this guy?

So everyone would have yet another cruiserweight match to bitch about? They got six minutes on Smackdown, so if they had had this match on WrestleMania no one would be talking about how great it was but instead about how little time WWE gave them. I say keep it off and give two extra minutes to Eddie/Rey, two extra minutes to Angle/HBK, and two extra minutes to the six-man ladder match. WrestleMania has been plagued with 10+ matches too many times, it's about quality not quantity. Not like WWE has treated the Cruiserweight title as anything that belongs on WrestleMania the past couple of months anyway.

Don't know where I got Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage from, but it's really irrelevant. You put the NWA World Champion and the RoH World Champion on national television, people are going to think more highly of the man holding the NWA title belt. RoH hasn't done anything to deserve being considered above the NWA World title. Samoa Joe was a great champion but his title reign was pretty ridiculous as they pretty much recycled the same guys over and over again, then had someone out of left field win it from him.

This would definitely be big if it were to happen, The Rock would be willing to put over some of TNA's young talent. A.J. Styles vs. The Rock = Me ordering a TNA PPV.
-
Kind of like how the X-Division was the highlight of TNA for it's entire first year of existance, including constantly getting the main event matches while Jeff Jarrett was wrestling in opening matches and stuff.
-
The RoH World title will never be viewed as more prestigous than the NWA World title. Just look at the names of the people who have held both titles, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, and Xavier don't compare to Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, and Sting. Jarrett could keep the title the rest of his life and it wouldn't ever drop below the RoH title in prestige. You think the casual wrestling fan would feel more for someone who comes to the ring wearing the RoH title at another company's show? However, someone goes to another show as the NWA World Champion and they are going to get some recognition.

Carolina Panthers have signed Ken Lucas and Mike Wahle. Lucas tied for the NFC lead for interceptions last season with Chris Gamble, so Gamble and Lucas could be a pretty good combination.

I was watching SuperSlams earlier today and was watching Bret Hart and Razor Ramon vs. Hakushi and Jeff Jarrett. Very good tag team match and it got me thinking about some of the other really good matches Coliseum Video put out as exclusives. Anybody have any memories of exclusive matches that you liked?

I think this has more to do with FSN wanting a BDSSP tie-in than TNA wanting it. BDSSP is pretty much the only show on FSN that regular fans will know and they want to get the word out about it every chance they can, so if TNA can draw some casual wrestling fans with the primetime special the same fans will be exposed to BDSSP. I really liked the other two joint shows they put on a while back, so this should be just as good. And I think having it WrestleMania weekend would be a really good idea, most wrestling fans will be in the mood for watching wrestling and if they deliver fans may come back if WrestleMania is less-than-satisfying. I still want to know why TNA hasn't tried any shows in North Carolina, we are right here and yet no independent promotion ever has shows around here.

Attack of the unknown caller again. I wonder if this is starting to just become the usual excuse for people that can't put their shows on, "we'll just tell the fans a rival promoter got us kicked out of our venue!" The western New York wrestling scene isn't something I've heard that is very highlly contested anyway.

Yeah, Muhammad is going to the Bears. Panthers play them next year to.

Unless you count Philadelphia as the Northeast, because A.J. Styles defended the NWA title against Chris Sabin at RoH's WrestleRave '03 event. I checked out NWA Cyberspace's website and they already have some interesting matches signed for the next show, namely Jeff Jarrett vs. Slyk Wagner Brown. Matt Striker vs. Michael Shane in a 2/3 Falls match, April Hunter and Traci Brooks vs. Cindy Rogers and Jazz, Sonjay Dutt defending the Cruiser-X title against Grim Reefer in a ladder match, and Chris Candido vs. Mike Kruel. April Hunter and Traci Brooks together...I'm sorry, what was I saying? Should be a great show, someone will have to feel us in on the results and possibly a review. And any promotion that uses Mike Tenay as a heel, has my seal of approval.

The only problem is that the announcers are so on edge about there being a big wreck, that every little spin that happens they are yelling "here it is, this is the big one". They have also changed what counts as the "big one", to me the big wreck should involve like 20+ cars not seven or eight with three or four more having minor damage.
-
I'll say that the "big one" will either happen on the second to last lap or the last lap, since that seems to be when wrecks want to happen this weekend. I also wouldn't be surprised if we didn't have a big wreck at all since the Busch series didn't have one yesterday, and Nextel Cup drivers are far more talented so they may stay out of trouble. I just want to see a clean win for once this weekend, Truck series had a wreck that ruined the finish and yesterday's race had a wreck that ruined the finish, I just want to see them race to the finish. As far as RCR, yesterday Kevin Harvick and whoever drives the #2 were up front all race long and Tony Stewart was driving a car owned by Kevin Harvick which you have to know was running on RCR power. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Martin Truex Jr. were hooked up in the front of the pack, Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart just hooked up and drove right by them. I have a feeling they'll carry some of that experience over to today's race. What I want to see is if it comes down to Dale Earnhardt Jr. versus Kevin Harvick with Tony Stewart in third, who does he go with.
-
I liked Charles Barkley's quote, "I can't pull for J.R. Smith because he should be a Tarheel right now."
-
IDK, RCR did a pretty good job of making DEI their bitch in the final laps of the Busch Series race yesterday.

Wonder if we're going to be getting a Rise and Fall of WCW DVD anytime soon? Seems kind of strange they would just bring it up out of the clear blue sky and that a news site would actually report it unless it had some relevance. Oh christ, a WCW Rise and Fall? That'll be 3 hours of each guy from WCW bitching and saying how awful the place was with Bischoff trying desperately to defend it. I'd watch it, especially since everybody and their mother will probably shit on Bill Goldberg. Probably only opportunity we'll ever get to see atleast one of the many tag matches between the trio of Billy Kidman/Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit/Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn/Raven from '99 on DVD. And throw on the 4-Way between Blitzkreig/Juventud Guerrera/Psychosis/Rey Mysterio just for fun, and because I really want to see it!

I have a feeling that if either Mark Martin or Rusty Wallace are in a position to win late in the race, it'll be sort of like the 2001 Pepsi 400 with Dale Earnhardt Jr. People will sort of hold back to let them have their moment. I'm really questioning how competitive Mark Martin will be, I just feel uncomfortable with him fixing his primary car instead of going to a backup. As for the race itself it should be very good, especially if you get all of the big teams up there working together. How about three wide up front with DEI, Richard Childress, and Hendrick right until the finish.
-
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the old XPW highlight videos that used to be on xpwtv.com. I am mostly looking for highlights of matches from their later shows, Jonny Storm vs. Juventud Guerrera is one of the matches I remember seeing.
-
I say Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 21, both teams break up mid-match and finish as Chris Benoit and Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero. Very odd indeed.
-
And the circle of life indicates that he should just go ahead and rip himself off, a little throwback to his ECW gimmick. We just need Joey Styles on the mic saying "dammit Simon Dean, you stole that from Nova...like everyone!"
-
I'll go with Falcons/Panthers OT game, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I think about Carolina not going into two-minute drill mode and instead playing for overtime. Panthers + OT + At Atlanta = Bad things...Michael Vick was down dammit!
-
I have to go with Dale Earnhardt Jr., he won it last year without Michael Waltrip most of the race and this year he has additional help in Martin Truex Jr.. As for Truex Jr., I think he has the makings of being a major player in NASCAR in the future.
