Alex Shelley has talent, but it is pretty obvious that he doesn't have what it takes to make it as a big-time performer. Not everyone can be bent into his wierd-ass submissions like Jimmy Jacobs and he is downright brutal on the mic.

Obviously, Johnny Swinger will be brought in as one of Simon Dean's satisfied customers. Simply get a random picture of a fat guy and have Johnny Swinger saying "that used to be me!"

Wonder if we're going to be getting a Rise and Fall of WCW DVD anytime soon? Seems kind of strange they would just bring it up out of the clear blue sky and that a news site would actually report it unless it had some relevance.

I don't know why the announcers think tonight is going to cause anyone to step up their game tomorrow. Sounds like they are expecting everyone to go all streetball on each other's ass or something. Steve Nash bouncing the ball on his head down court and then bounce it into the net would be cool though.

XPW/CZW stars and lucha legends unite
JustJoe2k5 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Very interesting looking card, hopefully the show goes well and this promotion sticks around for a while. I don't really know a whole lot about lucha libre, but Altar Boy Luke vs. Vic Grimes should be brutal and I'm interested in anything that deals with Psicosis, he is probably my most favorite luchadore. -
So, is anyone else getting ESPNEWS on ESPN instead of Duke/North Carolina?
-
Have they given any reason as to why ESPN isn't covering the game? Either way, Duke is looking really good early, although I learned from watching the '95 game this afternoon on ESPN Classics that no lead is too big in this rivalry.

-B-Boy and Homicide vs. Jack Evans and Teddy Hart (Steel Cage match) -Dan Maff © vs. Jay Lethal (JAPW Heavyweight title, No-DQ match) -Frankie Kazarian vs. Trent Acid -Roderick Strong vs. Samoa Joe Can you say "can't miss show", and there is no telling how many more matches will be signed between now and March 26.

You could always do what I plan on doing, and that is wait and get all three shows that are part of the upcoming Third Anniversary Celebration. Just looking at the matches announced for each show makes them must-buys. I've heard people say that Survival of the Fittest is one of the better top-to-bottom shows RoH has put out recently.

Got it for fifteen dollars at Wal-Mart and I knew it was worth the purchase after watching his match against Jeff Hardy from InVasion '01. I saw that match on PPV and never really saw how ECWish it was until rewatching it on the DVD, the crowd was pumped. Everything else on the DVD is great, so far I've watched the ladder match against Christian and his Living Dangerously match against Jerry Lynn. Would've like to have seen a little more commentary from RVD on his career with the matches going in chronological order, but it's good nonetheless. The piece about almost ripping his eyelid off made me cringe.

Yet, if it was Chris Benoit or Eddie Guerrero no-showing these interviews you would all be saying "everyone needs a little time off".

Psicosis to get a tryout match this Sunday
JustJoe2k5 replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
If WWE does sign him, I wouldn't mind seeing Psychosis win the Cruiserweight title in one of his first matches and have a feud with Rey Mysterio leading up to WrestleMania. Give them the opening match and they should be able to get the crowd pumped. -
Hell, they could produce a card worth seeing with just the talent they've announced so far. Maybe they'll be able to get Jack Evans and he and Teddy Hart could get the shit kicked out of them by B-Boy and Homicide. If they are able to book a few more solid performers, this could easily be a must-see show if they put it together right.

I haven't bought any videos in a while, but I have kept up with Ring of Honor through these message boards and from what everyone has said they are putting on some great shows. I was wondering if anyone could recommend one or two shows from the past few months that have been the best. I am looking for shows with a great variety from high-flying scramble matches to hard-hitting contests. Just solid top-to-bottom shows instead of throwaway shows with one or two standout matches. The last show I got was At Our Best, so anything from then on would be good. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Steelers, Rams, Eagles, and Colts

At first I was wondering if this announce team had some sort of bet with the ESPN crew as to who can kiss a Quarterbacks ass more (ESPN to Michael Vick, or these guys to Hasselbeck). Now that I now they are the same people, I guess they are working extra hard to try and prove that Michael Vick isn't the only Quarterback they'll go down for.

Sylvia Brown on the Montel Williams show called it.

Anyone else taking part in AOL's Pro Football Playoff Challenge? I got an e-mail about it, saw that you could win a 26" Flat TV, it was free to enter, so I thought what the hell. My team for this week is WRs Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne, QBs Drew Brees, Marc Bulger, and Peyton Manning, and PK Jason Elam. Anyone have any thoughts on my chances of getting good stuff from them? Jason Elam is the only one I really have questions about.

When you have fans of the show signing a petition to remove the General Manager of that show, then I think it has some meaning. I don't really care who is or may become the General Manager, I only watch Smackdown when a match looks like it may be good. This week was the first time I've watched in atleast a month and I did just for Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio, most everything else was almost embarrassing to watch like Kurt Angle's hijinx, John Cena's battle rap with Kenzo, and Daniel Puder's acting. I don't understand how you get a guy who legitimately takes down Kurt Angle in a fight, have him win you 1,000,000 Tough Enough challenge, and instead of putting him in the ring you force him to act (badly) in meaningless backstage skits with divas. Yet, WWE continues to show me that they have no clue what they are doing.

I say add some cruiserweight matches from the last few months WCW was in business, like one of the Chavo Guerrero Jr./Shane Helms matches and the Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr. vs. Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo finals for the Cruiserweight Tag Team titles. Maybe show something about the Natural Born Thrillers and Magnificent Seven, two big stables towards the end of the company. WCW really seemed to be getting their act together in early '01,after Vince Russo pulled all of his bullshit in '00, and the next thing you know Vince McMahon kills the company.

Some mock drafts I have seen have Carolina going for an OLB with their first-round pick, but hopefully they get an Offensive Linemen as there are two or three that are projected to go around the middle of round one.
-
What match was it in CZW that ended with John Zandig having a tendon sticking out of his arm? I believe it may have been against Lobo during their feud in 2002. You also can't go wrong with some of the matches from IWA Mid-South's King of the Deathmatch '03 tournament. Balls Mahoney vs. Ian Rotten, Ian Rotten vs. J.C. Bailey, and Necro Butcher vs. Mr. Insanity come to mind.
-
Carolina has a very possible chance of atleast getting half-way closer to a playoff spot by the end of this weekend. New Orleans, St. Louis, and Chicago could all easily lose their games. Seattle also has a fairly easy home game they could win. If Minnesota defeats Green Bay and wins their division, does that mean that the first round matchups of the playoffs change, right now Carolina would play Green Bay would they play Minnesota if Minnesota wins the division?
-
Anyone else find it hard to get into this game? I would rather see it played in mainland United States and rotated around and treated like Baseball's all-star game.
-
The fact that they put him on the team even though Culpepper and McNabb can do everything he does and are infinitely better passers gets to me. Jake Delhomme would've been perfect for the Pro Bowl team, he has had a great year and his favorite target, Mushin Muhammed, is also on the team.
