Considering Bob Sapp is IWGP Heavyweight Champion, I doubt the Japanese fans would mind having Steve Austin around.

I was watching the PPV live with a friend, it is a little foggy but I seem to remember seeing the Blue Blazer interview, and then them cutting immediately to a shot of the crowd. Jim Ross said Owen Hart had fallen, Jerry Lawler left the announce position and checked on him in the ring, and I believe they showed a few clips of Owen being attended to. I think I remember seeing him move atleast once, but that was all. Then, later in the show Jim Ross announced that Owen Hart had died. I read a report that he was supposed to come down the wire, and then release the harness like five feet too early and fall on his face in the ring like a comedy moment, and he was scheduled to win the Intercontinental title and most likely go on to a World title feud against Triple H. One of the saddest moments I've ever experienced as a wrestling fan.

If none of you have visited the IWA Mid-South message boards, they have a post with 200 tag teams that are being considered for the tournament and are taking suggestions from posters as to who should be booked. Pretty big list with some standouts being Christopher Daniels and Low Ki and Mexico's Most Wanted.

I'm guessing that he was brought back on RAW to ensure that his return was kept as a surprise, he'll probably just show up on Smackdown in a couple of weeks or months after a short stint in OVW. Like Rodney Mack magically jumping from Smackdown to Raw, or a possible trade with Smackdown for Rikishi so they can reunite Too Cool and put Rikishi with Rosey.

MAJOR HAPPENINGS FROM THE "REVISITED" TOUR... --CW Anderson & Steve Corino captured the WORLD-1 Tag Team titles in Quarryville, PA defeating Masato Tanaka & Guillotine LeGrande in a decision match made by President Jack Victory. Corino and Anderson issued a challenge to any tag team in the world to try and defeat them...who will step up and accept and when? --The PWF Tag Team titles also changed hands in Quarryville, as Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Josh Daniels & Matt Striker. Striker deserted his partner in this one, but returned to the ring only to hit Daniels with the "Lungblower". Hidaka & Fujita took advantage and hit an assisted tornado DDT for the victory. This marks the second time the PWF Tag Team titles will make a trip to Japan, as they were held at one time by Masato Tanaka & Shinjiro Ohtani. Will the new champions return to the States to defend their gold? And will Daniels get an opportunity to confront Striker about his traitorous actions? --Speaking of Daniels, he is now the number one contender to Low Ki’s WORLD-1 Openweight title due to his victory over Homicide in Essington, PA. The two men went toe-to-toe for almost 20 minutes, amazing the fans with their desire and fighting spirit. Daniels must now prepare for facing the challenge of a lifetime in the always dangerous Low Ki. --Low Ki and Spanky retained their NWA International Light Heavyweight Tag Team titles with an amazing victory over Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita in Essington. Anyone who was there will never forget this contest, as all four men were at the top of their game. Ki and Spanky took home the win with their devastating finisher, "The King of the World", Sliced Bread #2 off the top onto Fujita, who was perched on Low Ki’s shoulders. Does Corino and Anderson’s open challenge extend to Low Ki & Spanky? Only time will tell... --The tour ended with Matt Striker confronting a victorious WORLD-1 Heavyweight champion Masato Tanaka after his match with CM Punk. Striker, who earlier in the night had defeated Kohei Sato, challenged Tanaka, saying that Masato is a great fighter, but that he is the best fighter. Tanaka immediately stated that Striker would be his next challenger when he returns to the USA! All this and much more went down during "REVISITED", so make sure you pick up the events on VHS and DVD when they are released! -Credit zerooneusa.com

Justin Credible & Simon Diamond defeated The Christopher Street Connection with a Credible superkick into a Diamond inverted DDT in 10:18. Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita became the 10th ever PWF tag-team champions by defeating Matt Striker & Josh Daniels in 14:41 with an assisted Tornado DDT by Hidaka on Daniels. Striker shocked the fans by abandoning Daniels in the middle of the match, only to return and give him the Lungblower! Low Ki, Spanky, & Homicide defeated Los Maximos & CM Punk when Homicide hit a lariat on Joel in 14:12. Dusty Rhodes Jr. defeated Mana with a bulldog in 7:23. Steve Corino & CW Anderson defeated Guillotine LeGrande & Masato Tanaka in a decision match for the WORLD-1 tag team titles in 12:45 when Corino made LeGrande submit to a Cobra hold. They still have one more show left in this tour and that's tonight, but both shows looked decent. C.M. Punk and Los Maximos vs. Homicide, Low Ki, and Spanky must've been pretty good. Tonight is C.M. Punk's shot at the World-1 title against Masato Tanaka, it'll be interesting to see if they can clique in the ring. A review of the 4/8 show can be found here.

Leave any predictions and thoughts in here, and hopefully we'll post the results here as well. I'm guessing a possible B-Boy vs. Samoa Joe match for Simply the Best, and Corporal Robinson vs. Wifebeater in some kind of deathmatch.

IWA Mid-South Wrestling presents "Derby Madness 2004: The IWA Mid-South/NWA Wildside Challenge" on Friday night, April 30th, at the National Guard Armory (2909 Grant Line Road) in New Albany, Indiana. The event will feature a series of IWA-MS vs. NWA Wildside matches in a "friendly duel" between the two promotions. Fans of Wildside who are familiar with their talent, feel free to post your "dream matches" between stars of the two promotions in this topic! For more info on NWA Wildside, visit http://www.nwa-wildside.com/ As a sidenote, Matt Sydal and Delirious, who both compete regularly for both groups, have elected to represent IWA Mid-South on the Derby Madness card. So you can factor that into your match ideas when posting your thoughts! I don't really follow NWA Wildside, but those who do can drop some predictions here.

NANIWA*, did something happen to Dick Togo because now all I see is Ikuto Hidaka teaming up with Minoru Fujita as the Far East Connection, did they have to replace Dick Togo in the team or is the FEC a three-man team now?
-
That match was for the NWA International Light Heavyweight Tag Team titles I believe, which Low Ki and Spanky won from Ikuto Hidaka and Minoru Fujita a while ago in Japan. I think Ikuto Hidaka and Minoru Fujita are still PWF Tag Team champs.

I've noticed something about Rob Feinstein the few times I've seen him on RoH videos. If it isn't a segment involving Special K, he is totally uninterested, even when shilling upcoming events for his own promotion. It is pretty pathetic that someone like that who happened to have his name as owner, has dragged RoH down because of his idiotic actions.

"Unfortunately, ROH and TNA officials have reached an impasse in negotiations. TNA talent has been pulled from upcoming ROH shows. Communication will remain open between TNA and ROH and hopefully this issue can be resolved down the line." Ring Of Honor Booker Gabe Sapolsky had this to say: "We understand TNA's position in this unfortunate circumstance. We are still trying our best to resolve this issue, but now we are looking forward to new lineups and new talent in ROH. We are going to have new lineups for all upcoming shows and we will announce these lineups early next week in what promises to be a huge week for news in ROH. Things are going to be very interesting in ROH and we urge you to focus your energies on what ROH will be doing on upcoming shows. ROH has always been about presenting the top, hungry wrestlers and now there will be new opportunities. You are sure to see some great talent giving everything they have to make the most of their opportunity in ROH and we urge you to focus on that. We will give you plenty to talk about in the next couple of days. Thank you for your support and you better believe we will still blow away St. Paul and Chicago with the best show in town." From RoHWrestling.com, didn't see it posted and thought it would be a pretty big issue here. I checked the lineups and A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels are noticeable removals, but C.M. Punk is still listed so his TNA run may be over. Wonder what this leaves for the Pure Wrestling title.

Looks like another solid show, hopefully we'll get some more reviews from people today and some detailed results from IWA Mid-South's website.

I always felt that the WrestleMania 2000 ladder match was the better of the matches between Edge and Christian/Hardy Boyz/Dudley Boyz, and the SummerSlam '00 and WrestleMania X-7 matches lost their luster, and are basically the same match with one or two spots changed. Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels from WrestleMania 12 is an obvious choice, so I'll be safe and go with Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit from WCW Mayhem '99. It was a good match, but after rewatching their Owen Hart tribute match from Nitro and then rewatching this match, it loses alot of it's luster and the constant run-ins don't help it much either.

4/10 Results. King Kahula defeated Eddie Guapo in 7:30 with an over the knee backbreaker. Simon Diamond, CW Anderson, & Justin Credible defeated Ricky Landell, Alex Law, & Greg Spitz in 9:45 when Anderson hit Landell with an Anderson spinebuster. Los Maximos defeated Rockin Rebel and Jack Victory when Joel rolled up Rebel in 10:31. Josh Daniels defeated Homicide in 15:29, by countering a Homicide roll-up attempt, to become the number one contender to Low Ki's W-1 Openweight title. Matt Striker defeated Kohei Sato with the Lungblower and his feet on the ropes in 10:12. Steven Corino defeated Dusty Rhodes Jr. with a Choshu lariat in 12:52. NWA International Light Heavyweight tag team champions Low Ki & Spanky retained their titles, defeating Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita with The King of The World in 19:15. Masato Tanaka retained his W-1 Heavyweight title in 9:54 by defeating CM Punk with a Roaring Elbow. Tanaka was immediately confronted by Matt Striker, who made a challenge for Tanaka's next US tour, which Tanaka promptly accepted.

It is MY dream match, so if it doesn't appeal to you don't worry about it. I know what I expect out of the match, and that is some hard-hitting action and that is what I like.
-
The match is still on, it just won't be for the title and B.J. Whitmer is going to be defending the title against someone else.
-
Yeah, it's the name he went by in Zero-One.

IWA Mid-South Wrestling returned to the Community Center Gym in Oolitic, Indiana on Friday night, April 9th for "April Bloodshowers 2004." Here's what went down... 1. MICHAEL SHANE def. ADAM FLASH & "Spyder" NATE WEBB in a three-way opening contest after superkicking Flash and pinning him. 2. MsCHIF def. DAIZEE HAZE with the Desecrator, after first blowing the green mist in Daizee's face. Both women wrestled a mainly submission based match. 3. "Barbaric Berzerker" JIMMY JACOBS (w/ Becky Bayless) def. RODERICK STRONG following the Contra Code. Strong made a strong showing in his IWA debut. 4. DELIRIOUS def. NIGEL McGUINNESS with a cradle as both men were quickly exchanging nearfalls, and Delirious held his shoulders down for a count of three. 5. MATT SYDAL def. "The Tremendous" EMIL SITOCI following a moonsault belly to belly suplex to retain the IWA Light Heavyweight Championship. 6. BJ WHITMER (w/ Jim Fannin) def. JERRY LYNN two falls to one in a thirty minute iron-man match to regain the IWA World Heavyweight Championship. Whitmer scored the first fall with a rollup while holding onto the second rope for leverage. Lynn later tied the match after a cradle tombstone piledriver. Whitmer scored the deciding fall following an exploder suplex with less than 10 seconds remaining. 7. "Anarchist" ARIK CANNON def. CHAD COLLYER following the Glimmering Warlock. 8. MARK WOLF def. DANNY DANIELS (w/ Jim Fannin) to retain his IWA status, and the ability to choose his own stipulation. Daniels used brass knuckles on Wolf, and went for a cover, only for B-BOY to come to ringside and pull the referee out of the ring. As Daniels took his attention to B-Boy. As Daniels took his attention to B-Boy, Wolf recovered to hit Daniels with an inverted DDT for the pinfall. After the match, IAN ROTTEN and DAVE PRAZAK approached Wolf asking what he is choice of stipulation is. Wolf asked for DAIZEE HAZE, to which he was told she has a boyfriend, and it isn't a choice IWA can grant him. Wolf pointed out that Dusty Rhodes once won Baby Doll for 30 days, but the argument didn't hold up, and he had to select something else. Wolf then turned to the fans and asked what they wanted, to which the entire building began to chant "Hero." Wolf said that Hero being permitted back in IWA is his selection, and Prazak announced that effective immediately, Hero is reinstated. 9. "The Phenomenal" AJ STYLES def. "The New Age Punisher" B-BOY following the Styles Clash. 10. JC BAILEY & NECRO BUTCHER (w/ Jim Fannin) def. CORPORAL ROBINSON & WIFEBEATER in a Fans Bring The Weapons Match when Wifebeater turned on Corporal Robinson and drove him through several chairs covered in light tubes. Notes: The event was filmed by Smart Mark Video with two cameras for home video release, with commentary by Dave Prazak and Ian Rotten. Didn't even know the show was last night, hopefully some people who attended will add thoughts but it does look like a solid show just from the results. I wonder if this means Chris Hero will be in Highland tonight? And please hold all applause, as I predicted Corporal Robinson vs. Wifebeater with a stipulation to be named later has been added to tonight's show.

IWA-MS: Am I the only 1 who thinks they need more
JustJoe2k5 replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
J.C. Bailey and Nate Webb probably won't be put together as they were feuding recently, and they may still be feuding. IWA Mid-South probably couldn't spend the money to fly in Aerial Express. If I had one guess as to a tag team they could bring in on a semi-regular basis it would Adam Flash and The Messiah. -
Bryan Danielson vs. Homicide is definately my dream match, and should easily be a Match of the Year candidate. I wonder if RoH will bring in someone new to lead The Prophecy or have Dan Maff step up and just add another smaller member.

Inoki Dojo: Super Juniors Tournament 4-16-04
JustJoe2k5 replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Well, judging from what I've read about the current state of Japanese wrestling I think they would take Teddy Hart's name over his lack of wrestling ability. -
It'll be like old times getting up early to watch Livewire, Superstars, and Worldwide. And Velocity will be like WCW Saturday Night.
-
If they do plan on cancelling the show, I wouldn't mind seeing a History of ECW piece on one of the final shows.
-
My guess is that they will show some older shows to promote the 24/7 deal. Maybe that's just wishful thinking, but if I had to decide between seeing older WCW stuff from '96-'98 or seeing the return of ECW, I'd go with the WCW stuff.
