    TNA Genesis 2009

My first live TNA pay-per-view experience, I also went to the Wilson house show on Friday, and I must say it was quite the show. Definitely a small crowd, but it was also a VERY small venue. MEM was over huge, especially Angle and Sting. I hope the Sabin/Shelley match translated well on television as it was fantastic live. Did TNA ever note Jonny Fairplay's presence in the front row? I should also note that Vince Russo was sitting towards the back of the floor seats on the opposite side of the camera throughout most of the undercard. I believe he headed backstage after the Angle/Jarrett match.

You could also add Hart Foundation vs. The Rockers and British Bulldog vs. Shawn Michaels to that list. I know they've just been released recently on DVD, but we'll see them again.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

About as bad as I expected it to be. I like Kane, but his career hardly justifies a three-DVD set dedicated to it. However, I hope WWE continues this recent trend of career-in-review DVDs like Kane's, Eddie Guerrero's, etc., as it keeps the door open for a potential Owen Hart DVD down the line.

    WWE No Mercy 2008

It's nice to have an in-ring interview without the "What?" chants after every word.

    WWE No Mercy 2008

Which was halfway off at the end there anyways. And Rey's career is looking shorter and shorter if his knees are really as bad as they seem. He just said "I can't feel my leg" it what looked pretty legit. Don't know about the end, but I think he injured his leg on that botched move about mid-way through the match.

    WWE No Mercy 2008

So, Kane has him in a completely vulnerable situation and doesn't even make an attempt to remove the mask?

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

The title of the DVD would lead me to believe that it won't address any gimmicks prior to Kane. I just hope they don't attempt to present a WWE Films depiction of his "disturbed" childhood.

Don't forget the "New & Improved DX" DVD; six months of content somehow warranted a three-DVD set.

Impact goes live for one night only on 10/23

WWA drew a solid crowd back in '02 for one of their pay-per-views in Las Vegas, I would expect TNA could expect the same type of turnout. WWA did have Bret Hart to promote for that show, but outside of that it was a very similar roster to what TNA currently has.

    Spoiler for 10-02-2008

Shame that it was either LAX or MCMG for the Monster's Ball match, I would rather see those two teams battle it out in a straight-up pay-per-view match than the Monster's Ball match.

I really like the look of the Guerrero set. I like that WWE has started to make "companion" compilations to earlier DVDs and this set will fit very well beside the "Cheating Death, Stealing Life" DVD.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

I'd love to see Jericho finally get a DVD next year, even if it's just a compilation of matches. I would also like to see a WarGames compilation similar to the soon-to-be-released Hell in a Cell set. I continue to hope that we'll eventually see a Rise and Fall of WCW DVD released in the future.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

Perhaps we'll see WWE release a complimentary DVD in the future, similar to what they did with Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels, with some of Hennig's more high-profile matches. As it is, I think there is a little too much Bret Hart on the DVD and the SummerSlam match could have been replaced. Outside of that, I like that they went for more obscure matches.

    The OAO WWE DVD Thread

This is why I wish the WWE would continue the "From the Vault" DVD series that they started with Shawn Michaels. When you have a superstar, but don't have enough material for a documentary, just compile some of that's superstars best matches (with the angles, interviews, and promos associated with each match) on a two-DVD set.

Agreed. I've really enjoyed the few I've been able to find online. I am most irritated by Michael Hayes and his need to be devil's advocate in most roundtables, especially the Monday Night War one. While I understand the point of a roundtable is for there to be discussion, and heated discussion at times, Hayes really didn't give Bischoff much of a chance to defend himself in certain situations. I think his spot at the table could've been better filled by someone like Booker T, if he was still with WWE when the roundtable was filmed.

    Have you tried Ares?

    CTDWAT: Indies/Overseas/General

Has there been a recent rumor that Bischoff could start his own promotion? I remember there was talk back a few years ago but I think he has shifted his focus towards Hollywood these days. If it were to happen, I would imagine the promotion's roster would look like the XWF's did back in '02 and I would expect the promotion to have a similar life-span.

Is the Best of 2007 DVD good?

If you want the best that TNA has to offer, I would look to purchase some of the X-Division DVDs: The Best of the X-Division Vol. 1 The Best of the X-Division Vol. 2 In addition to that, I would also recommend: Phenomal: The Best of A.J. Styles History of TNA Wrestling: Year 1 If you want to see the best matches, the two X-Division and A.J. Styles DVDs are the best out there. If you want a sample of the all-around entertainment TNA has to offer, History of TNA Wrestling: Year 1 is probably the best choice. Although, TNA in '08 is vastly different compared to what TNA was in '02-'03. These matches are included on the History of TNA Wrestling DVD: A.J. Styles vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Low Ki vs. Psicosis A.J. Styles vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Low Ki (Ladder match) America's Most Wanted vs. The New Church Jeff Jarrett vs. Raven -In TNA's history, all four of those matches are regarded as some of the best the promotion has ever had.

Thanks for that. I know in the Monday Night War show they mentioned that the Lawler/Hayes/Foley/Bischoff panel had filmed one other roundtable, yet I've never seen that one.

Anyone have a full list of all of the Legends of Wrestling roundtables that have been shown thus far?
