ARTEST TRADED FOR PEJA The Indiana Pacers have agreed to trade Ron Artest to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Peja Stojakovic pending league approval, ESPN's Jim Gray has confirmed Tuesday. The deal closes a chapter in the Pacers' latest drama involving the volatile star forward. Artest was a key component to a team that was expected to challenge for the Eastern Conference crown. He led the league in steals and was the Pacers' second-leading scorer at 19.4 points a game before being deactivated after publicly requesting a trade in early December. In five years with the Pacers, Artest was an All-Star once and was the NBA's defensive player of the year in 2003-04. Pacers GM Larry Bird said the Pacers had been interested in Corey Maggette of the Los Angeles Clippers, but there was "no question" that Maggette's sprained left foot affected the process. Maggette averaged 21.7 points in 13 games before getting injured in early December. The Pacers have lost four of their last five games, including Monday to the Atlanta Hawks, who have the NBA's worst record.

I won't vote since I don't read Marvel but I must say that I shed a few tears when Brubaker left for Marvel. His Catwoman run was my favorite book at the time and he wrote great stuff on Gotham Central. He wrote a few stories on Detective Comics that were just fantastic and were completely overlooked because of the overhyped "Hush" storyline. Ed Brubaker and Jim Lee would have been a real "All Star" team on Batman. I did read his first story arc on Captain America and of course I enjoyed it however I'm a DC guy so I had to drop the book to make room for all the Infinite Crisis books. Might buy his Marvel stuff in trade if I have extra money.

What an amazing performance by Kobe. Even though I'm Laker hater #1, being in L.A. I get to watch every game and I have to say that Kobe is playing in another level compared to everyone else in the league. He makes the game look too easy. Awesome Game between Lakers and Clippers tonight. Lakers win 112-109 Fucking Kobe made like 4 three point shots in the fourth quarter that god himself couldn't have defended better. Finished with 50 with 40 of them coming in the second half. Clippers have lost 8 out of 11 and are only 5-9 since Maggette fractured his foot and tonight he confirmed that he will be out 2 months instead of the originally projected 4 weeks. Here in Los Angeles, Univision is huge. The L.A. Times always list their top 10 prime time shows each week and during the summer 8 to 9 of the slots consistently belonged to soap opera episodes on Univision. I would say based on the numbers that these shows would be in the top 30 when up against first run competition Hell many weeks Mexican soccer gets better ratings than any other sport except for the NFL
