Being a Clipper fan here are the free agents I think they need to go after. In order of preference 1. Kobe, really liked the teams chances until Buss practically handed ownership of Lakers to Kobe. Advantages for Clips: better talent and a coach who has known Kobe since he was a kid. 2. Steve Nash, i would give him a max contract offer but I know Sterling won't. Nash or Baron Davis would make this team something special. 3. Vlade Divac. Already said he was going to either the Lakers or Clippers. Would be a great mentor for our center Chris Kaman. 4. Troy Hudson, Brent Barry or Carlos Arroyo. Team needs a PG badly

Yes it would. That is why I hope they make a trade, seeing how our two best players Brand and Maggette came over here in trades on draft day. By the way will there be another thread for the Expansion Draft on Tuesday, or will we talk about that in here as well?

O.K. I'm from L.A so I must defend my town. First the people in L.A. don't want a football team because we don't need one, hell the Raiders left the city and they are still the third most popular team behind Lakers and Dodgers, the only people that want a team here are the NFL and some of our reporters. Second, The Dodgers are one of the only teams in baseball that get a total attendance of 3,000,000 fans every year. My Clippers suck, but they still get an average of 14,000 fans at Staples. ----------------------------------- Personally I have always disliked Miami, especially because if they are playing a team from New York, 3/4 of the crowd goes for New York.(watch any Heat/Knicks series)

Congrats to the Pistons on winning the NBA title. They had the best team and the best coach and they deserved to win. They beat the Lakers so badly that the only questioned left unanswered after the series was: How the hell did Larry Brown end up with such a young and beautiful wife? I just knew that the basketball gods were not going to allow the Lakers to win the NBA Championship. Living in L.A. and seeing and reading about this dysfunctional team all season, I never understood how anyone could cheer and root for this team to win. Them winning would have been a disgrace to all team sports.

Sooo, did RVD just disappear when the lights went out? Ah well... Another report said that Undertaker chokeslamed RVD before he got Cena Also Rico was injured in the tag match, so it ended quckly. The dreaded "X" sign reared it's ugly head.

My MVP is Prince If Prince ain't there then Kobe will be going wild and the series would have a whole different feel to it. No disrespect to Billups but most Point Guards look like an MVP against the Lakers
-
Actually my Clippers should be good next year and if they add Kobe they will be title contenders I guarantee it.Even though I will hate having all these bandwagoners join us, I will tolerate it since it will be at the Lakers expense

The Unprotected List for the NBA Expansion Draft
Kurt Angle Mark replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Sports
The Bobcats can only use 66% of this year's NBA salary cap to make their team. The salary cap won't be announced until the first week of free agency which starts July 14th. However last year's cap was $43.84 million and this year's figure should be similar to that. -

Actually it appears Deathstroke will be hired for a different reason In Wizard 150 they gave a preview of issue two in which the DC Universe assassins are hanging out in an abandon satellite. At the end Dr. Light, the guy suspected of killing Sue, comes in scared out of his mind and with money and asks the villains for help. Deathstroke happens to be the best one there. Also the cover of issue 3 shows Deathstroke going up against the heroes with the secret along with Wally(Flash) and Kyle(GL), who I guess are there to make up for Barry and Hal. So it looks like Deathstroke was hired for protection.

By Dave Scherer of pwinsider.com A number of readers have sent word that WWE has upped the price of their webcast of the Badd Blood PPV to $34.95. They are promising a better picture, but that is steep. Since there is no middleman taking 60% of the gross, as there is with cable PPV buys, WWE does not need to charge so much for the online version of the show. I think they are just looking to maximize profits in what may be an unwise manner.

Actually the match won't be airing. WWE was unable to tape a segment before the show starts as they normally do, so as they taped the segment during the show. They sent Mordecai and London out to kill time.
-
Sorry to disappoint but according to pwinsider.com the match won't be airing on Smackdown. There was a delay in the taping of the Eddie/Bradshaw segment so instead of having the crowd sit there with nothing to watch they threw Mordecai and London out there to kill time.

Victoria talks about the outfit she wore on Raw
Kurt Angle Mark posted a topic in TSM Classic Threads
Victoria lets (most of) it all hang out on RAW by Phil Speer Feb. 20, 2004 A lyric from “All The Things She Said” by T.A.T.U., Victoria’s theme song: “When they stop and stare - don't worry me.” The Divas’ tag team match on Monday – in which Victoria & Trish Stratus defeated Molly Holly & Jazz – was, in the words of Jerry “The King” Lawler, cheeky. That’s because the Los Angeles native unveiled a new, sexy yellow-and-black outfit that exposed much of her posterior. While the tag match itself was exciting, wrestling fans can’t seem to stop talking about Victoria’s backside. Nor can her fellow competitors. Nor can her family. (Her mother’s comment: “Uh, your BUTT was hanging out of that thing.”) This afternoon, as Victoria drove from her home in Louisville, Ky., to Evansville, Ind., for tonight’s RAW live event, she told WWE.com, “I just remember going up the ramp and saying to Stevie (Richards), ‘OK, my whole ass is hanging out of my pants! I can tell. I can feel it.’ “When I came home and watched it on TV, I was just like, ‘Oh my God, there’s my ass!’” Not surprisingly, Victoria got nothing but positive feedback from WWE’s (male) officials. “All the agents commented about my outfit about how it’s nice to see some sexual appeal, along with being tough,” she said. “Trish even said, ‘Oh my God, girl.’” As it relates to her behind, Victoria promised that there’s more where that came from. When she heard that “Miss Jackie” Gayda knew of a store where they sell these sexy outfits, Victoria sent Jackie to the store to pick her up several of them – a few of which she’s yet to wear on television but plans to do so in the near future. She’s also recently ordered attire over the Internet. She first wore a revealing outfit – this one pink -- a few weeks ago on HEAT, although it wasn’t quite as snug as her yellow one on Monday. But Victoria – who said two weeks ago on Byte This! that she’d be willing to pose nude in Playboy – doesn’t mind if her sexy attire gets her as much attention as her wrestling repertoire. After all, they’re both impressive. “Honestly, what kind of job can you get away with dressing like this?” she asked rhetorically. “It’s fun. If people put it down, I can just say, ‘That’s part of Victoria.’ I enjoy it. I work hard on my physique, why should we cover it up?’” The fans agree. When Victoria arrived at home and checked her e-mail, she had countless messages like this one: “Great match, but where are you getting your outfits? They’re so hot!” Victoria’s goal is to get even hotter. She’s hired a personal trainer – this week was her first session with him – with the goal of tightening up and improving her diet. Though fans would say she looks phenomenal already – especially after Monday’s RAW -- she’s a perfectionist, and she’s especially motivated with WrestleMania on the horizon. Since she still lives in Louisville, home of WWE’s talent developmental camp, Ohio Valley Wrestling, she also plans to start going to practice there once a week to work on her skills and get in even better shape. She attended practice on Thursday – waking up at 7:45 a.m. to do so. Of course, the OVW competitors were talking about her Monday attire. “They were like, ‘Man, we like your outfits!’ And they were trying to keep a straight face, but I was like, ‘You little perverts!’” -
Here is a small newspaper article that wil appear tomorrow on some of the newspapers across the country CNBC financial analyst fired for making Nazi gestures during wrestling match By Alex Marvez Sun-Sentinel June 8, 2004, 6:24 PM EDT Making gestures associated with Nazism during a World Wrestling Entertainment match in Germany last weekend has cost a prominent performer his moonlighting job as a financial analyst on CNBC. The network announced Tuesday that John "Bradshaw" Layfield was fired from his job as a CNBC contributor. Layfield was hired last month after serving as a guest analyst for Fox News Channel, which began featuring him regularly last year following the release of his book Have More Money Now. In an apparent attempt to draw a crowd response during his match against WWE champion Eddie Guerrero in Munich, eyewitness reports said Layfield goose-stepped around the ring and raised his arm numerous times in an Adolf Hitler salute. Such actions are illegal in Germany, although no criminal charges were brought against the 13-year wrestling veteran after the show. In a statement, a CNBC spokesman said Layfield was fired because, "We find his behavior to be offensive, inappropriate and not befitting anyone associated with our network." WWE also responded to the incident through a statement on its web site: "WWE and John Layfield deeply regret Mr. Layfield's actions in the ring at our event in Munich and apologize if it has offended or upset our fans. Mr. Layfield has been reprimanded for his actions." Such sanctions were not released, although it's believed Layfield was set to meet Tuesday with WWE owner Vince McMahon. Layfield, 36, was recently elevated to a main-event position on the WWE's Smackdown roster after his character was changed to portray him as an anti-immigration zealot, with Mexicans usually the targets of his prejudice during weekly Thursday telecasts on UPN. Alex Marvez can be reached at [email protected].

If the Lakers win the title, two decisions by the opposing team will stand out in my mind 1. Taking Horry off the inbounder because it would have made it harder to get the ball inbound or a tip by Horry would have ended the game 2. Not fouling Shaq when he touched the ball in the final play of regulation during the game we just saw.

Harvey and Ivy #3 is due out on June 30th. I agree it's a really fun story. Here are my favorite books at the moment Birds of Prey Gotham Central Catwoman Fables Wonder Woman Superman Adventures of Superman And I highly recommend that everyone purchase Superman:Secret Identity and DC: The New Frontier. Absolutely incredible mini-series. Also the biggest DC comic of the year "Identity Crisis" starts on Wednesday and I suggest that everyone check it out.

Finally someone is using the strategy I would use of letting Shaq and Kobe score all the points they want and stopping the midcarders. It is always the Fishers, the Horrys, the Rushs that score the big shots in the playoffs. So stop them and you have a shot to win. I also liked the Piston chances because once you play those wars against a great defensive team like Indiana, playing anybody else is like playing the Magic.

Actually the Finals averaged a 6.5 last year, which was the lowest ever for live telecasts
-
It got a 2.9 rating the last two weeks and the last time Smackdown got a 3.3 or higher was on March 25th
-
No, Smackdown has gotten a better number than Raw a few times but not many But like it has been noted, network and cable TV have different rating systems. Which is why last week Smackdown can get a 2.9 rating while Raw gets a 3.5 and Smackdown still beats it in total viewers 4.4 million to 4.3 million.
-
Final number is in By Dave Meltzer Smackdown last night delivered a 3.3 rating, which has to come as good news considering how the show had been doing.
