    The OAO NBA Playoffs/Finals Thread

Actually there have been two(99,01), with the Spurs winning 3-1 both times in the first round.
  2. WWE is reporting that Backlash did 280,000 buys, down from 350,000 buys last year and 400,000 buys in 2002. WWE was expecting a higher number of buys for the show following the strong WrestleMania XX buys. credit: 411mania I provided this info on the other Backlash tread which was ignored, I mean there was no way that a one brand PPV would get 600,000 buys when the previously highest ordered one got "only" 325,000 buys.

Man, Tony Parker is playing like a man possessed in the playoffs. The Spurs are such an awesome team, how could anyone say they are boring when they got Parker and Ginobili. Being a Clipper fan it is always nice to see the Lakers get their ass handed to them. I would love to see Spurs-Kings because not only would it be a great match up but it's one we have yet to see in the playoffs.

    Smackdown Spoilers

According to pwinsider it was Stephanie who decided to put Jackie in the match. Like it was previously mentioned the challenger was supposed to be Matt Cappotelli but he suffered a concussion at a house show and was unable to wrestle.

    A small Folder nuisance

When I logged on this morning to my computer, one of my folders opened up automatically and has been doing so every time I have logged on since. Anyone know how I can make it stop?

The Official Judgment Day 2004 Thread

Besides the three matches already announced, I assume that Chavo will have a rematch with whoever he wrestles on Smackdown next week. Now for the rest of the show I have no idea, if it were up to me I would have RVD turn on Eddie next week, where Rey tries to make the save and also gets beat down. Setting up RVD vs Rey and the Dudleys can go on to face Haas and Rico.

Vince meets Bret Hart after Raw

By Dave Meltzer --Bret Hart and Vince McMahon met after the show last night. Hart didn't go to the event last night. --I'm guessing the filming yesterday afternoon from Hart House with Chris Benoit would probably air on one of the other shows. The impression was it was for Raw, and they sure talked about Stu Hart a lot on the show. It was a big deal because it is expected it will be the final wrestling scene ever filmed in the dungeon or the house. --The Paul Heyman return to Smackdown was at least strongly talked about for tonight. I have no idea if he's in Kelowna or coming, only that it was the plan.

    Popovich:

I say Bruce Bowen deserves the award strictly on this play alone Now that's how you stop someone from scoring
  9. I find this Backlash buyrate story really odd, since according to the Investors site at WWE.com Backlash did between 280,000-300,000 buys, which is a much more reasonable number when compared to all the one brand PPV's

    Smackdown Spoilers

I pray that this means Paul London like I hope it does, but I have the nagging feeling it will be good ol' Jeff Hardy. Either way, it will be nice to see Chavo actually enter a real feud... I'm thinking Jeff Hardy, but I'm hoping for the Grand Luchador. I like the Grand Luchador gimmick for London, since it is better than not having a one. Might be possible since London didn't even have a match at the tapings this week, perhaps hinting that the Grand Luchador might be a permanent character.

(Note: Meltzer said that there were plans for a RVD/Rey vs. Dudlye Boyz match on Smackdown, Comment: I personally wouldn't be surprised if they set up that match for the PPV)

I have to say that Hubie Brown became one of my favorite people ever tonight. His post game interview on TNT was pure class and he deserved all the success he got this year. Hopefully he decides to return again next year because the NBA needs guys like him in the league.

  15. I hope it plays out like that too because when the WWE does a storyline that you also thought up, you enjoy it a little more.

According to Meltzer,WWE taped a segment featuring Benoit in a very special place in CALGARY

The One and Only Backlash 2004 Thread

...comes alive like this. Benoit winning was awesome, and the sharpshooter was a nice touch, but something about the match didn't click for me. Just couldn't get into it at all. Totally agree. It was like Angle/Austin from Unforgiven 2001, It wasn't as good as the first match at Summerslam and the finish was obvious to everyone since the winner was in his home town. Thus it didn't feel as special as the match at Wrestlemania.

Damn It !!!!!! Jimmy had a good look at it. Oh Well, if the Lakers are going to play like this then the Spurs will destroy the Lakers since they got the offense to go with the defense.

My first round predictions West: Wolves over Nuggets in 6 Lakers over Rockets in 7 Spurs over Grizzlies in 5 Mavericks over Kings in 6 East: Pacers over Celtics in 5 Nets over Knicks in 7 Pistons over Bucks in 5 Heat over Hornets in 6 Here are my thought on the Finals: -If Spurs make it, they win -If any other West team makes it and the East winner is either Detroit or Indiana, then the East team wins. -West wins if anyone other than Indy and Detroit make Finals.

    Ultimo Dragon quits WWE

He didn't quit, he is taking a leave of absence By Dave Scherer Ultimo Dragon will be taking off the next few months from WWE to go back to Japan and attend to business there. As of right now, he is scheduled to come back to WWE in the fall and return to wrestle for them then, but a Japanese publication is reporting he is going back to Japan to wrestle.

SD! Title Hunt-Who deserves to be there?

I don't care about him jobbing (hate the stupid as offense, but oh well) but I don't think I can sit through another feud. Find a way to book a match without feuding him. I think they could book an Angle/Cena feud without midgets this time. All I know is that Angle has to be the champ when Cena goes for the title. Angle has been the one guy that has beaten Cena time and time again. The story would sell itself and would make Cena's win more memorable.

Once upon a time... Smackdown > RAW

To me the big problem with Smackdown is that since the draft they have spent too much time on the Raw guys and Bradshaw. Instead of getting a great cruiserweight match like the four way on Velocity, we had the Dudley Boyz bore us to death, Bradshaw on for 20 minutes and Spike getting squashed be a generic hoss. Smackdown arguably has the three most over wrestlers in the company(U.T., Eddie and Cena), yet one hasn't been on T.V., one hasn't wrestled the past two weeks and the other is having 2 minute squash matches with jobbers. Give them something decent to do and things would be ok. Hopefully this week's show will be better with RVD vs. Booker T and Chavo vs. Nunzio. Give these matches time, have the Undertaker finally show up, and have Eddie wrestle a match and the show might be watchable.
