South Park. No question. It is possibly the funniest show ever. It explores important social and personal issues. It has characters that the audience truly cares about. It's educational. It is also in its PRIME. The 100th episode was awesome. I agree with the Buffy haters out there. The show is fun, but really overrated.

BUT really, who has honestly seen enough episodes of MASH to judge between the two? The same could be said about all the "oldies." A lot of people will just vote based on what show they THINK is better.

The Simpsons season 3 thread made me think of posting this. For all South Park fans, the season 2 DVD comes out June 3. I personally cannot wait. South Park is my favorite show and I like to watch the DVDs of it when i get high.

I've always thought that it was corporate deals with record labels. They used to pick songs based on how well they fit with what is going on (My Way, The End). But now it is just to sell records and make money.

Good stuff. A great read. I agree, most if it is very correct. It's funny to think just how cliched the RPG genre is.

Agreed. I've seen the Aladdin one, the 2 Little Mermaid ones, and the Lion King S-E-X one.

It's cool that the Minnesota posters are vocal on this board. Minnesota doesn't have weather? I realize that it was a joke, but that is a dumb stereotype. I live at the U of M and it's been 80 all week. The Twins are getting back on track at 6-6. I think that most people overreacted to the 2 sweeps. What the Twins dont have is an awesome stadium. Gimme an outdoor baseball park, baby. I'll sit in -30 degree temps for my Twins. What doesn't minnesota have? A football team that will ever be as great as the Viking were in 1998 or 1999. Whatever the 15-1 season was. Does this post belong in the sports folder?

My current favorite beer is Lebatt's Blue, but it changes all the time. I also like Corona, Heineken, Rolling Rock, and MGD. I tend to stick with the classics

I've often thought about a Catcher in the Rye movie. I hope they never make it, but if they do... I think that Chuck Palinhuik would make a decent script out of it, but he may get a little crazy. I think that Alan Ball, of American Beauty and Six Feet Under fame, could also do a great job. No matter who does it, they shouldn't do much with it. I think the movie should follow the book verbatem. For a director, go with someone young, as it is a book about youth. If I were the movie studio, I would try and find they guy who is a HUGE fan of the book. They did this with X-Men and Spiderman, and it worked well, the movies rocked. I'd give it to Spike Jonze or someone of that nature. He young and creative, but still has an eye for what makes a classic. I wouldn't want anything crazy like Being John Malkovich or Adaptation, but i think Jonze could be great. He is obviously talented enough to do it right. And I 100% agree that the cast should be all no-namers. No Hollywood stars in major roles. However, I think that Mr. Spencer and Mr. Anolini could be portrayed very well by established Hollywood veterans. In some form, Holden looks to both of them for guidance, so they could be respected Hollywood guys. The casting of Holden will totally make or break the movie. The script and director really won't matter. As long as the guy playing Holden is captivating, the movie could work. I think the biggest flaw in the Holden casting, is they would probably cast it too old. The character is a teenager and they would probably stick a twenty five year old in there. Even if a Catcher in the Rye movie is made and is horrible, I really don't think it could taint my love for the book. I think that it could be adapted better into a play. It would have to change more, but I think a small theatre setting could capture the essence of the book more.

Catcher in the Rye is my personal favorite book of all time. Anyone read any other Slainger? I think his short stories are particularly good. "Teddy" is my favorite of them.
-
I think they are trying to start a Jackie Robinson-like trend where his number is retired in every arena. It's stupid and lame in my opinion.

I didn't like the ending of Changing Lanes. To me, it seemed like a cop out. They had the chance to make a bold statement, and pussed out.

Yes! Its awesome. Its funny and interesting. Its cool that it is very much a reality show but the sidekick guy is put there just to make jokes. I used to hate Bill Walton but now he is my favorite NBA guy.

Can anybody post some Black Tiger pics for me. I've tried to look for them online and have had zero luck. Any help would be appreciated.

The One and Only South Park 100th Episode thread

They do things like that all the time. The teaser on the commeicial is either not in the show or changed in the show. The episode was great! I love the episodes where Cartman is portrayed as extremely smart or the hero. (episode 501, for example) Those episodes do a lot for Cartman. I also loved that Stan's dad was the leader of the protesters. Great stuff. -
I got a couple too. It started on April 1....

I think it looks great. You can't go wrong with John Cusack and Ray Loitta. Those "too crazy to be cooncidence" are always cool.

The new album is GREAT. Totally surpassed my expectations. Its as good as Black Sails in the Sunset. They are an amazing live act. Davey Havoc is the best live performer I've ever seen. I am seeing them this friday.

GTA: Sin City is coming out before GTA 4. It is set in Las Vegas in the 70s. It will basically have the same engine as GTA:VC. As for GTA 4, I think it could be really cool set in Europe. This one is supposed to have a completely new game engine. EDIT: I see Tino has posted all of this....

Great episode. Its always nice to see episodes with main characters other than the boys. Jimmy Rules!
