It's funny to see the two main feuds on ECW TV in Miz and Morrison vs. Dreamer and Delaney and CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero having such similar setups with the series of matches on free TV, but the former has been so good and the latter has been so one-note and boring. That was an incredibly entertaining opener, with everyone in it playing their role admirably. Probably the most entertaining match on ECW TV since... man, I don't even know. It was a trainwreck, and nothing that'll probably be remembered a year from now, but it was very, very fun.

I like days one and two of Sasquatch the best. The only appeal for day three, to me, is Jamie Lidell and Flight of the Conchords, and maybe The Hives since I'm a sucker for that kind of band. I'd say Day One's the best, though; R.E.M., The Breeders, M.I.A., Fleet Foxes, and presumably for pure "what the fuck" novelty value there's the kid that sounds like Johnny Cash who I imagine will be going on early before any of the actual good acts start. Day Two has The Cure and Blue Scholars. I like Death Cab, but last time I saw them live they were incredibly boring (but it was, to be fair, Bumbershoot at the stadium, and the stadium really doesn't agree with a lot). The Cops are pretty cool, though.

I don't know if it's really an injury as such, but I chipped my tooth... by attempting to drink from a bottle of water and apparently forgetting to tilt my head back, or I hadn't tipped it back far enough. So the tip of it hit my tooth. Better yet, this happened on my birthday. And isn't something that requires dental work to fix the best present of all?

Quarterfinals, TSM Worst Poster Tournament
Mecha Mummy replied to EVIL~! alkeiper's topic in No Holds Barred
Man. When I saw that thread I was like "holy god, that's fucking pathetic, I can't believe that." However, now that I know that MVP is actually Deon (which I seriously did not realize until this tournament started), I'm... strangely not so surprised. Though maybe "strangely" isn't really the right word. -

Shelton's new theme is absolutely horrible.

Do you have any recommendations there? I've been looking into getting into that more.
-
... seriously? That looks terrible. Like, from the trailer it pretty much looks like The Brothers Solomon except with awful "hahaha they're manchildren" jokes as opposed to "hahaha they're awful with women" jokes.

"We can't include everybody" is complete nonsense. Oh no, including him means three whole seconds would be taken away from... what, Catherine Zeta Jones talking about the Oscar she won? Please.
-
Yeah, I think that's fair. I love the Oscars and I enjoy watching the entire thing, but last night after a certain point it was clear that NOBODY wanted to be there anymore (see Tom Hanks, who gave the most rushed, uninterested presentation of the night, which astonished me because it was Tom Hanks) and they just wanted to give the Coens their awards and go home. I mean, does anyone other than people who do sound, their families, and the people involved with the movies nominated really care about who wins for Best Sound Editing? And the problem with Best Animated is that there is almost never, ever any doubt about who's going to win. The only time I can think of where I was wondering who would come out on top was the first (?) year where it was Spirited Away vs. Lilo and Stitch, because I didn't know if they'd really give Miyazaki the win over a critically well-received Disney film and was pleasantly surprised when they, in fact, did. Every year since it's just been, like. If there's a Pixar movie nominated, it wins. Thank you, drive through. EDIT: Also, yeah, the Razzies fucking blow. It's just another chance to take unfunny cheap shots at famous people in the guise of being "humorous."

Stewart was average. He had his funny moments and his incredibly marginal, bland moments, which greatly outnumbered the funny moments (which I'd consider to be the tribute to Binoculars and Bad Dreams, the shot at Norbit, playing Wii Sports with the kid from the August Rush song, and "That guy is SO ARROGANT."). Still, I'd be fine with him not ever hosting again.
-
Awesome speech, just for mentioning that Batsuit.
-
If Norbit wins I will laugh my ass off. EDIT: Curse you, predictable awards ceremony!

WWE General Discussion - February 2008
Mecha Mummy replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I don't know. Didn't Dreamer get in trouble for letting CM Punk work an RoH show whilst Punk was in OVW? -
I was at a Rasputina show a couple of years back. Now, given that Rasputina is a cello-rock trio with a general fixation on the Victorian era, I was expecting an opener that would at least be somewhat interesting, if not good. Instead, we got Audio Learning Center. To properly understand what they were like, since I doubt anyone has ever heard of them before and rightfully so, imagine Built to Spill, except every member of the band has been hit over the head with a shovel a few times so instead of actually playing proper songs they just sort of do the same thirty seconds of music on loop for about five minutes per song. And then go on for an hour, doing nothing but this. The crowd didn't even have the ENERGY to be hostile, they were so boring; they were just incredibly, incredibly apathetic, to the point where by the end the lead singer was finally realizing that nobody wanted them there and it was best to just end their set and get out of there, thank god. Second place goes to the Trucks. If you like bands featuring members who think that wearing a dress made out of condoms is hip and witty, they're the band for you!

Ahahaha oh man, the Burke/Flair role reversal spots were golden.

James Curtis returns!

Yeah, Miz and Morrison drew some loud jeers for the beatdown on Dreamer and Colin. This angle's working, and it's actually the one I'm most interested in in WWE right now (though admittedly part of that is from the surrealness of Colin Olsen on WWE television).
-
I wonder if this will be the night where Colin finally hits an offensive move. GO COLIN!

"Fact is, Sarge, she... er, caught me snickering her nolly last month. Hell's bells, Sarge, she's got a punch on her like a mule! When I came round, we got to talking, and she said a keen young lad like me could be useful as, like, an ear on the street." Night Watch by Terry Pratchett

Not once in my five years of quietly taking up space in the background.
-
... man, he sounds like Prince Nana.
-
Yes. And just like last night, I'm wondering how the weight thing is really affecting them if they're just going to win anyway.
-
Good thing that punishment is affecting them so much! I can't even bring myself to hate TNA anymore. They're just hilariously dumb at this point.
