The end with Michaels and Undertaker squaring off alone was more memorable than the entirety of the 1995 or '99 Rumbles, in my opinion.
-
1995, definitely. It felt as if they just made it really really short as to put as little strain on Michaels as believably as they could whilst still selling the not-as-impressive-as-one-may-think accomplishment of drawing #1 and winning the whole thing.

I love the referee's complete dread at even starting the match.
-
Okay, half a minute into the first time I've ever seen him and I already love Colin Delaney.
-
Is that the "WONDERFULLLLLL, THEY CAAAAAAAAALL ME MISTERRRR WONDERFUUUUUUUUULLL~" song? Because man, I would kill for that theme.

The promo itself was gold, but the way it ended was dumb. If anything they should have had Taz react the opposite way, tease the heyman choke out and instead turn and choke out Vince and defect to the alliance. Taz had been a member of the Alliance since July, and had pretty much been treated like the whipping boy/black sheep of it by Steve Austin from Day One. I imagine that had a lot to do with the ending, though I agree it's a little anticlimactic beyond that.

By the way, has anyone heard the Plant/Krauss album? If so, would you recommend it. I'm a big Plant fan, even like some of his solo stuff, but I just don't know if this would be my cup of tea. I enjoyed it; "Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us" was probably the highlight for me since I'm a fan of Krauss' voice. It sort of gets tiring halfway through but picks up by the end.
-
Neither do I. Once I realized that that WAS the ending and processed the point of it, it was exactly the right way to end it, as far as I was concerned.

"You say your name is Finlay and you love to fight. I say your name is Finlay and you're a bastard!" Bobby Lashley is, indeed, Mr. Electricity behind the mic.

If it was on Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies, then it wasn't even old at that point since the Guerrero promo in question was a promo he cut in like July or August 2002 against The Rock. And speaking of which, that's definitely a wonderful non-obvious promo to mention, that entire segment with Eddie and Rock was absolute gold.

There's this moment in the match where Joe uses the Stretch Plum and you can pretty much hear the announcers laughing at it when they realize that's what he's doing. It was a really, really poor decision on Joe's part because pulling homages to famous Japanese wrestlers might have flown in his match against Kobashi in front of an American crowd, but it just looked painfully awkward when he did it against Misawa.

It's been extended to Monday.
-
Well, that was a marvelous waste of time.
-
Man, he looks like a deer stuck in the headlights there. EDIT: ... as someone already said two posts above me. Lovely. And holy shit what was THAT.

Haven't seen Darjeeling yet, but. 1. Royal Tenenbaums 2. Bottle Rocket 3. Rushmore 4. Life Aquatic

I do hope we get a new character or something next week. The taunts were the only particularly interesting update this time around, in my opinion.
-
I'm not sure what I find funnier, the fact that they actually decided to attempt to personalize it for this board, or just "great wrestlin' tunes." What the hell is a "wrestlin' tune?"
-
That would be Dramatic Dream Team, or DDT for short.
-
Hulk Hogan? Running his mouth? Never.
-
Denzel, possibly. Crowe, I doubt it. Honestly, he was much better in 3:10 to Yuma and if there's anything he deserves a nomination for, it's that.

There was apparently a regime change that made him change his mind on the matter.
