They booed a little, but... yeah. The only way this can NOT be terrible booking is if they build up to Punk turning on the New Breed because dear god that was anticlimactic.

Because this feud certainly wasn't one-sided enough aside from the Wrestlemania match.

I love Stevie and all but couldn't Punk have been booked against someone he hasn't beaten like five times now?

    Joe Rogan vs. Carlos Mencia

The sad thing is Mencia kind of did the bit better than Cosby. But then again, given twenty years to revise someone else's joke you damn well better improve on it. Really? I think Cosby did a much better job than Mencia. ALl he did was say "That bitch never played catch with you" and i guess that could make it seem funnier, but really, Cosby's was better. Mm, well. I guess my problem with Cosby's is that it feels a bit disjointed until he pulled it together at the end with the punchline, whereas with Mencia it's a bit more... clear, I suppose. Like, Cosby's is a bit funnier from start to finish, but Mencia's builds up to the final line really effectively (and I actually found the scream of exasperation to be funnier than the "catch" line). Not that it really matters if it was Cosby's joke to begin with, but.

I prefer Bebop over Champloo, mostly because I'm not so fond of Champloo's really bizarre fillers (the graffiti episode, for one) whereas Bebop's fillers were always really, really good. Which isn't to take anything away from Champloo, of course, because as a whole it's pretty fantastic.

    WSX cancelled by MTV

On the same night as the same time as ANOTHER wrestling show, which was just an amazingly stupid decision given how limited an audience there is for wrestling right now. WSX was really sort of doomed from the start.
  23. Open the Brave Gate is supposed to have a weight limit and it's more of a lowercard title. Of course, Austin Aries exceeds that weight limit but nobody really cares about the Brave Gate anyway, so.

As far as Ranma 1/2 goes, I think the first three seasons are very strong. However, after they introduced Ukyo they really didn't have much left to do aside from the occasional insert of one of the storyarcs of any importance (the Hiryuu Shoten Ha arc, the Shi Shi Hokodan arc, the stuff with Pantyhose Taro, and so on), so it all just because "oh hey let's see if we can turn this into a martial art." And sometimes that worked (Copycat Ken) and sometimes not so much (the calligraphy guy, not to mention the fact that they gave that stupid tea ceremony character additional episodes).

The opening scene was probably the highlight of the entire thing for me. My only complaint is that I would have liked to have heard what Sai and/or Yamato sounds like, and the Kyuubi stuff didn't feel quite right and they could have done with a better transition into the opening theme. But the animation, wow. So good. As for the episode itself, I was baffled at their spending so much time with filler stuff like the keywords, but there was some amusing comedy in it here and there (almost entirely Tsunade-related, in fact, as the scene with her training Sakura was funny in a "wait how does that make ANY sense" way), but I mostly liked it. Deidara's voice is very good, though I didn't even catch his speech pattern until I watched the scene with Akatsuki walking through the desert a second time because they play it down so much that you have to actively listen for it at the end of his sentences. EDIT: I also have to say that the shot of Akatsuki in the opening video is quite possibly the coolest they have ever looked and I get the impression that I'm going to be incredibly impatient to see how they handle Hidan and Kakuzu in the anime. Especially Hidan because he comes off as a character who will be incredibly fun to watch fight when animated.
