Because he's a terrible face, but a fairly effective heel?

James Dobson makes speech, falls off stage
Mecha Mummy replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
Keyes uses racist imagery to get people to think his own way. It's kind of like Al Sharpton. Buchanan is actually worse, IMO, for actually being racist. Against Jews, even, which is either a support of Nazisim or misinterpreting the Bible even more than everyone else on that list did. Exc -
Christian had reasons. First off, he couldn't stand DDP's endless optimism and goofiness. Secondly, he hated the idea of being helped by someone as irritating as DDP and so he just decided to use DDP until he could win again. And third, he's a heel and a douchebag heel at that.

I don't get why they keep up hope that anyone will give a shit about Hardy. The crowd's turning on him, he can't wrestle, he can't cut a promo, and he doesn't deserve a top spot. I mean, you can make a case for Monty Brown. He's charismatic, his finisher is over, and you can market him as a legitimate athlete and get him on shows like Best Damn Sports Show Period. Sure, he's not a good worker, but at least he has upsides. But Hardy has no redeeming value at this point. He should have just jobbed to someone who could have benefitted from the win (Like, say, Kid Kash.) and then left.

I played the Test theme a bunch when I had the album, actually. The incoherent lyrics amused me, and now I find them even funnier since I now know the real insane lyrics.

*Sigh.* Raven's never getting the belt, is he?

I don't get the big deal about puppets having sex, but eh. It doesn't particularly matter to me because I think the film looks pretty terrible (and if it isn't, then whomever is making those shitty commercials needs to be fired).

It was, but CC airs reruns late at night. The people who make Undergrads are apparently wanting to do a second season and they contacted CC about it but there, to my knowledge, has been no interest from Comedy Central. Oh, and Deathmatch reruns air on MTV2.

I could have sworn that those lines had far more innuendo regarding the Flair/Orton match than that...

Not funny. Anyways, I liked some of Lennon's solo stuff and didn't like some of it. I thought "Instant Karma" and "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night" were both great, though.

The only two shows Comedy Central cancelled/didn't renew that I was irked about was MST3K and Beat the Geeks. Though they're also part of the reason why there hasn't been a second season of Undergrads...

TNA News & Notes from the 10/04 Observer

Of the lot of them, Waltman seems the most capable of being in a good match judging by his match against Styles and the standing ovation he got at an Inoki Dojo show. -
Well, Legend DID work a short program with Jarrett where he pretty much just jobbed and looked inferior to Triple J a lot...
-
Matt Hardy wrote about that in one of his columns. Wow, thank god SKeith had the inside scoop there.

Where the hell WAS Kenan, anyway? Doing work on the Fat Albert movie?

Funny thing; the only two sketches I particularly cared for were the Swift Boat Veterans spoof and, oddly enough, the escalator thing, though the latter was too long. Everything else I found to be either unfunny, repetitive, or directionless. I don't know if this was worse than the Matt Damon season premiere two years back, but it at least comes close. EDIT: Oh, and as for the Hillary Duff thing; never again. I can tolerate scrolling past your stuff to get to the review usually, but that was too much. Way too much.

The Second Coming of Life of Brian

Already happened in Seattle back in May/June. -
Isn't Nowinski conservative? Surely he would have been a better opponent for Foley than JBL.

Raven actually joked on commentary about Beefcake showing up for that match on the pre-PPV Heat.

Perhaps not where you live, but where I am they get a shitload of radio play. That cover wages war upon my gag reflex.

JMS has gone fucking nuts.

Oh, she knew what was going on. She pretty much repeated it in every confessional she gave. "It's a sorority they're out to get me it's a sorority, a clique, conspirators" yadda yadda yadda. So, y'know, it's kind of sad/pathetic that she didn't bring this up and instead just said "I'm not crazy." over and over again.

Another week, and Apex continues to fall apart at the seams. In addition to Ivana's lack of competence as a leader last week, we now know that Elizabeth can't hack it either, and to make things worse Maria screwed up big time and cost her team the win. Stacie J was tossed out, but that was mostly because she's nuts rather than how good she was (though she wasn't particularly good either). One of the funniest things in last night's episode, though, was the first few ideas Mosaic's team members had for the promotion, which sounded like things SUPERVILLAINS would do rather than publicity people.
