To celebrate my name finally being changed to a name that everyone already called me anyway, I'm going to post some half-assed feedback. So here we go.
Loved Alfdogg's heel interview. I liked the anger he showed towards everybody, whether it was the American fans, Brock Ausstin, or Zack Malibu. And cheap heat sport references are Alf's forte, so it only helps that he plays to his strengths. It's going to be weird to accept Brock Ausstin as a face -- the character just seems like it will be difficult to play that way -- but I'm sure it will be handled well.
Theodore Moneymaker! The originality is breathtaking. Almost as good as the name "Brock Ausstin." Still a fan though.
Short and sweet promo from Logan Mann. Good way to keep the momentum of the Heavenly Rockers/Sooners feud going. The match following was excellent in establishing the Sooners as an unstoppable tag team. And I'm intrigued with how Big Frank seemed to be calling out Tony specifically.
Great brawl between Zack/Rodez and Cortez/Bloodshed in the back. The intensity between the four of them felt real -- just an indication of how well the whole feud has been built up. Bloodshed particularly looked insanely sadistic.
Quentin Benjamin vs. Felix Strutter -- Simple match but lots of action. I liked the rapid pinfalls throughout the whole thing. It gave a sense of urgency to the match -- they were looking to end it as quickly as possible and put their team at a major advantage. And the multicolored "U-S-A" chants?? Now that's just inspired.
Everyone is angry tonight. Peter Knight keeps the pissed-off streak going by calling out Longdogger Pete. I like how the rivalry between the two guys keeps escalating. A simple loss isn't enough to stop PK. And the six man tag match next week sounds great. That PLUS Drek/Cappa?! omg.
The GPX vs. D*LUX -- Match of the Night. PPV quality match, to be honest. Some cool spots here too. The leaping Thesz Press over the chair, triple jump somersault plancha, the mid-air spear. The double stomp across the ladder has to be mentioned too, of course. The feud between these two teams came to a very nice climax here. This thing was completely wild, coupled with the interference from London at the end, so lots of credit here for that. Loved it.
Ken Pantera vs. Charlie Moss -- Wow. Lots of matches tonight. I liked how this match contrasted to the earlier USA vs. Canada one. Benjamin/Strutter was more of a fast-paced athletic match. Patera/Moss was more of a plodding, hard-fought one instead. And of course, I was completely shocked that Pantera won, sending the series into a third and final match.
Drek/PRL contract signing. Words don't do it justice.
Reject vs. Jumbo -- Well, the story of this match wasn't the match itself but what happened afterwards. I liked the debut. Cool, flipping moves have always impressed me -- whether in actual wrestling or e-fed stuff -- so that's a plus.
Brock Ausstin vs. Alfdogg -- Good match. The feud between the two has been established for so long now that the matches just seem to write themselves. Neither Brock or Alf will allow themselves to slow down. They will fight as much as they need to in order to beat the other one. I liked the announcement of the Heartland Invitational Chamber of Hell II at the end. Even though I knew about it beforehand....but yeah. And Gunner Sharps?! Where the hell has he been?!
The Mad Cappa vs. PRL -- Like the previous match I just mentioned, this is another match that just seems to write itself. The rivalry has been established for so long that all they need to do is go out there, throw their trademarks moves out, and they still have a hell of a match. I actually like the fact that this was kept a little shorter. Seemed much more crisp and easier to read. Popick keeping his lame streak going was cute. Nice ending with the idea of PRL beating Drek at his own game continuing to chug along. The stage is set nicely for the next stage of the TriCappaThon next week. I came up with the TriCappaThon name by the way and I'm incredibly proud of it.
Damn...six matches?! SIX?! Only I could randomly pick such a long HeldDown to feedback.
