Never has it been more obvious that ECW desperately needs to be moved to its own taping than just now hearing a crowd of kids chanting "We Want Cena" during a Rob Van Dam vs. Kurt Angle match. There might not be anything more against the ECW spirit than that.

Someone said it perfectly earlier. This show is a complete rehash. If you saw last week's show, then you've seen the one they put out for tonight. From starting out with Sabu beating a low midcarder, to running a Big Show beating up Tommy Dreamer angle, to Kelly stripping and Mike Knox stopping her, to the Sandman caning a jobber... ...if all you're going to do is copy the show you created last week from segment to segment, why bother taping ECW at all? Just loop Week 2 every Tuesday night and save a bunch of money in the long run.

According to wwe.com, a stipulation has been added to RVD/Angle. If Angle wins, he gets placed into the WWE Championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event to make it a Fatal Fourway between RVD, Cena, Edge, and Angle. If he loses tonight, the match stays a Triple Threat.

From the way UTSU is talking in this thread, it's as if he actually thinks Cena is really fighting in the ring. Yes, he squashed Masters and made Sabu submit. Because that's how the writers wanted it.

No matter what people think, or even what people want to think, everyone has to realize that no matter what, ECW IS WWE. Exactly... and I give them props for trying something different but this whole ECW thing is a mess. I like how the people they've announced as appearing at the PPV so far are as follows: John Cena- WWE guy RVD- WWE guy Kurt Angle- WWE guy Randy Orton- WWE guy Tazz- WWE guy Jerry Lawler- WWE guy Edge- WWE guy Mick Foley- WWE guy Tommy Dreamer- WWE guy Terry Funk- associated with ECW, sure, but the appeal here is more his coming out of retirement and the Foley/Funk history rather than the fact that he was really an ECW fixture Rey Mysterio- WWE guy Sabu- the only non-WWE guy to be seen So basically this whole ECW thing boils down to "well, we signed Sabu." I don't understand how this idea is supposed to succeed. The "new" ECW is a bunch of people we've seen on WWE programming for years, and a bunch of scrubs no one in their right mind has ever cared about in the first place (Balls Mahoney? Sandman? Really?). I can't believe they're going through with this ridiculous idea. RVD, Tazz, Foley, Dreamer, Funk, Misterio, and Sabu all became popular in ECW before they did it in WWE. Just because they wrestled in WWE does NOT mean they're not associated with ECW. How you could even consider Dreamer more of a WWE wrestler than an ECW one is beyond me.

Loved Misterio/Van Dam. Don't know what people are talking about here, but RVD definitely looked motivated. It was probably his best singles match since he's made his return. But it begs the question: Because they put him over tonight, are they planning to have him lose at One Night Stand?
