Told ya it wasn't true (not really, but I never believed it). I'll always like X-Pac so I dont believe he hit her.
-
I was thinking about something earlier. Angle is nowhere near the total package. If anyone in the WWE is, its Eddie. He's lucha, he's mat, he probably can brawl and he is good on the mic.
-
Cena pinned Taker after Albert interfered and Taker kicked out. Cena hit the FU and got the pin, so the interference was nulled.
-
Haas and Benjamin over AMW? Ewww. Its hard to say whos better out of XXX/AMW/THAGSW or whatever they are called (Thats the best name they could come up with?) but if I had to choose, I'd say AMW. Cena - He's entertaining. Wont get far with the rap gimmick. No one is gonna take a rap champion seriously past the US title. And him going over the Taker has done nothing for his career thus far. He goes over Taker, fights Gowen the next week, seems to be off of Summerslam. WHAT A PUSH. B+ Batista - I like his look, if he was a little bigger I could take him serious as a big monster, but he is short. Sorta like some other wrestler, I cant think of the name right now. So far he has failed, not his fault tho. D Orton - He is popular because......I feel like the summer is in repeat from last year. His push makes me want to throw up everything I had for lunch. His work is boring, his charisma is boring, overall, he is boring. C Lesnar - I prefer him as a heel over face. A person like him should never be a face because his brute power intimidates people. And the Spanky squash was cool. But I would rather not have someone else (Vince) force me to like him. B+ Haas and Benjy - Great tag team, got over quicker than expected and even have managed to avoid Velocity.....A Rosey - S.H.I.T.T.Y.. His character sucks, the 3 minute warning thing was only so good the first 2 times. Him and Hurricane can go jump off a bridge for all I care, their gimmicks suck. D O'Haire - Has potential. But Vince doesn't see that. O'Haire is a great wrestler and was great for someone green and a tag champ back in WCW. Since Piper left, he has left Smackdown and makes the occasional Velocity appearence. Might find a home in TNA under the New Church banner. Maybe. D Mack - Sucks. Looks whiter than a Barry Manaloe concert, but is playing a black gimmick. One that isn't entertaining once Teddy Long puts down the mic. D Jindrak - Never was the better one out of the two and it still shows. He also looks gay and. straight outta seventeez. F

Angle's moveset consists of 45 suplexes, punches, kicks and multiple rolling around tactics.
-
Poor Red.
-
Theres more than 25 maybe, I just got tired of counting. Maybe 25-30 at the most. But even with that thats an average of one great match every other show. Better than the 5 minute matches on WWF tv and the occasional 10-15 minute match.
-
Goldberg is also a power wrestler who probably doesn't know the difference from a hammerlock and a arm ringer. And wont know how to get out of one.
-
Benoit shook off Hunter's leg offense. His selling sucks too.
-
LYNCH~!?? The only thing Angle can do is mat wrestle, brawl and talk. His selling, like many other wrestlers this side of the Pacific, is limited to 2-5 minutes, as seen in the match with Benoit at the Rumble. You would think he would sell that he is exhausted from the duelling he and Benoit were (insert word here) or that Benoit's crippler crossface limited the use of his arm or strength of his neck/shoulders (I dont remember if he used the Angle slam or not). A year ago or 2 ago you couldn't browse a website without someone going "Kurt Angle is God!~~ He rUlez1!" The reason why you dont see it alot now is either because of TNA's showcasing of more spectactular talent (Sabin, Styles, Daniels, Low Ki) or people just got sick of giving him praise. And please, dont turn this into a TNA vs WWE war.
-
Yeah he can. Angle internet marks outnumber every other mark 50:1. Benoit is the so called martyr of the net because smarks think talent gets titles, so theres an outrage that Benoit should be champion. I dont really like the guy to be honest.
-
Sorry, forgot. Can't be pointing out the faults of Jesus Christ himself. Sure you can, we are point out the faults of Mr. Hova, Kurt Angle.
-
Throwing a man your equal weight from the top rope over your head isn't limiting the use of your arm.
-
Well, Angle didn't hold his arm or head during the submission switcharoo matchup at Rumble 2003.
-
He doesn't have to go to TNA or Wildside, but it wouldn't help if he worked a more diverse style. It might be hard because he is accustomed to his mat stuff but..... Brock Lesnar is like 275 and does a shooting star press, a botched one, but one none the less. Kurt Angle is the same size as D'Lo Brown, maybe a bit bigger and D'Lo can work a good high flying match. Not springboard hurricanrana head scissors, but he can hit some great spots. La Parka too. He doesn't have to be Rey Mysterio the 2nd, but it cant be too hard to do some different spots, like that moonsault he did. Kurt Angle won a medal for wrestling, but shooters do the same thing and better. Any of the UFC guys could probably hang with Angle. They do the same toss and tumble moves Angle does. Just because Bret gave it a 4 star doesn't mean it deserves one. Like I said, its because everything Angle does is supposedly entertaining and that match was boring as fuck. It deserves anywhere between 2 and 3.75 stars.

The Talent That's Going To Miss Out on SS...
syxx2001 replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
The last PPV Hardy was on was WM 19, unless you count being in the APA brawl a spot on PPV. -
Angle IS overrated. Like that one guy said, he has worked one styles for 3 years in the same promotion. Yeah he can switch from throwing random right hands and kicks with the best of them (Rock and Austin) to working the mat with the best of them (Benoit and Eddie) or doing both (Jericho) and putting on a good match. Benoit, Eddie, and Nunzio are as good if not better than Kurt Angle. Angle hasn't wrestled with the cruisers like Benoit and Eddie has, he hasn't mastered or performed the high flying style like Eddie has. And Nunzio is a shooter, and shooters own any technician plain and simple. The only reason Angle has put Big Show and Hogan through so called watchable matches is because of his in ring charisma and the constant dick riding of the fans. If it wasn't for that, Lance Storm, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guererro and maybe Chris Jericho could do the same. Supposedly anything Angle touches is platinum, not gold and thats a proven fact as everyone and their dead aunt gave Angle/Lesnar 4-5 stars, calling it the best WM main event and so forth. I would probably give it a 3. Its my opinion, yes, but it isn't as good as say Savage/Flair or Rock/Austin I. Angle just runs through his moveset, again, like that one guy said. He busts out suplexes, german suplexes, takeover armbars, double underhook suplex bodyslam legbreakers and shit, then out of no where puts on an ankle lock. WTF is up with that. Thats the shitty psychology that guy was talking about. He rarely works on the ankle, or leg for that matter and if he does its during two situations: 1) Trading crippler crossfaces and ankle locks 45 times in a match with Benoit or 2) Put on the ankle lock 44 times, allowing the opponent to grab the ropes and then having them tap the 45th time.

I thought a burial would be a squash. Or not putting someone who is over, over. Like if Spanky was getting pops like crazy and someone who doesn't need to go over like Taker or Kane beats Spanky, that would be a burial. Like Brock and Spanky. But he isn't getting crazy pops either.
-
I dont really like Angle marks either because they always believe every match he is in is a 6 star match (vs Brock Lesnar at WM 19) or he carried someone to a good match. Like someone else said, he is fun to watch, on the mic at least, but hes WAAAAY overrated. But I'd prefer a spot fest over a mat match anyway. They put me to

I counted at least 25.

The Rumble having a higher buyrate could be because of the Rumble having more significance, and it was Valentine's Day so some people could have been out on dates. For anyone wondering, RR got a 1.88 and SVDM got a 1.21. Austin losing the Rumble was good. He was already over, and it put Vince more over as a jackass and a cheat, Rock too because he caused Austin to lose. With Austin losing, that put up a road block that he had to somehow pass and he did a month later. And unless they are putting Low Ki over as a contender to Styles, Styles beating the shit out of Low Ki for 15 minutes WOULD have killed his heat. Sure there would be the mandatory face comeback, but people dont remember that. They always remember someone getting their ass kicked. At least the Asylum fans would.
-
Benoit and Malenko were given 25 minutes or 30 minutes back in 1996 and didn't get over, they were booed although it wasn't their fault. And Styles and Low Ki are already over. I said nothing about anyone getting over. And I suppose a bad match with a clean finish (TLC 4) is better than a good match with a bad finish? Ill take the latter anyday, at least it means you will see a rematch of some sorts later on and you know it isn't "cut short". Vince winning the Rumble was good as it put him over, which put Austin and Rock over as well. With Vince winning, he was able to say "Im better than Austin" which got him heat, and put the fans more behind Austin and with Vince going on and on about Rock's help, put him over more as a heel that screwed the WWF poster boy Stone Cold. If Austin had won the Rumble, there would have been no obstacles to over come as he would have already jumped the biggest hurdle. With Austin losing, it let Rock and Foley continue their feud without Austin jumping into it, and it setup the cage match with Austin and Vince; an obstacle Austin had to overcome. Wrestling is a story. In storys your main character has to be stopped somehow then comes back in an extraordinary way, which is what Austin did, although it wasn't something from a comic book, it got the point across. Screwing over the paying customer has been going on for years. Microsoft has done it since Windows 3.1, it didn't start with wrestling. Maybe you go into a PPV looking for the person you want to win, to win. Dont do that. You go into a PPV to see what happens. If it was the other way, you would be screwed everytime you order. Im sure there were people who ordered the Rumble saying "I know Stone Cold is gonna win." or "I hope Austin wins." and went "Oh shit thats gay. How did he win?" when Vince tossed him over the top rope, but they never said "FUCK THEM" cause their favorite didn't win and they felt screwed.
-
Like I said, yes, its PPV, but its also their only way of progressing its shows. If they booked AJ Styles and Low Ki every week with no story and just a match, it could get boring, especially to the fan who has never seen anything besides RAW and Smackdown and are accustommed to the "I cut a promo, you attack me" formula. It would be like boxing. Even ROH has storys and the promotion is centered around the sport and not the entertainment. Not that the storys are groundbreaking or anything. Like I said, maybe they are booking for something in advance and you are just used to the script on a Taco Bell receipt way they do it up north. Im sure there were some people scratching their heads when Vince won the Rumble in 99, or crying when Foley was screwed at Rock Bottom 98, but it all worked out for the better. Foley put on better matches vs Rock and won the belt and Austin went to WM after all. Maybe that will happen here, or something equal to it.
-
I hear Malice is the Scary Hand man and is making his 14th 2 week appearence sometime soon. Malice would be cool if they kept him on the show. He has the look and his fued with Shamrock in the first few weeks interested me. Now if it was TEH WALL it would have been another story.
-
It is also the show that progresses the storys. If they said "Give us 10 dollars and we guarentee a good show" would you take it? This is considering that they take 15-20 great indy guys, throw them in the ring week after week and have them fight with no storys behind them. Thats a great show right? With great matches. It would be like boxing with wrestlers. This is their only way of progressing their storylines so you will be forced to buy a bad show every once in a while, maybe more than you like, but you have to take the good with the bad.
