    Heroes

All I remember from it is Hiro holding a sword to Peter's throat And Mohinder returning to his apartment (why?) to Sylar sitting comfortably in an easy chair. He greets Mohider with "Welcome home, Dr. Suresh" or something of that nature. Sorry. My brain stopped function once it realized that Sylar and Mohinder were alone, and Sylar had that smirk of I-Am-Thinking-Evil-Intent. I think she's been brainwashed enough by Bob to think she needs him and the Company. Plus, at that point, I imagine she was still dealing with the "Who the hell am I?!" dilemna. In 'Four Months Ago' she went on a lengthy (and rather dull, imo) rant about her childhood. How she's always causing catastrophes. Well now she's learned that maybe, just maybe, that's not her. Perhaps Bob implanted her with an entirely false childhood/past. Also, I agree about West. Up until this week's episode, he pissed me off royally. ... HRG and West: Angriest ManHugs Ever.

Thing is, these episodes were already filmed before Quinto started with Trek. So the lack of Sylar is simply sloppy writing. Especially putting him with the Dunder Twins. Aside from being with Sylar, they have absolutely *no* relaiuon to anything else going on. Not the virus, not the Generation 12 being killed off, *nothing*. I hope next week its revealed that he axed them both and merged their powers somehow. No idea about Kaito's, but Angela's is definetly persuasion. They hinted at it in S1 when Nathan was all set on letting NY be destroyed. Personally I'm more curious about Papa Petrelli's power, and moreso why he committed suicide. 3. Currently, I have a Dell Latitude 110L from two years ago. Yeah, ancient right? Hell it was basic even back then. Got it from college. The thing is good for basic web surfing, downloading, and ripping/burning DVDs, alhough ripping takes around two hours, and burning is around a half hour or so. Intel Integrated Graphics... Yes, quite cringe-worthy. It runs Sims 2 and Vampire: Redemption quite well, however, I'd like to play Vampire: Bloodlines at a decent framerate/graphics setting. So definetly seeking recommendations. I'm shopping around (not buying, just seeing what I can customize, how much things cost, etc). I'm looking for a laptop that will obviously run Bloodlines, good resolution for watching movies, multitasking with net things (surfing and downloading mostly, though Firefox does take up a lot of memory). No more than $1,000 and preferably less. Something that'll last, y'know? Bang for the buck and all that. Current ones I'm considering: Dell Inspiron 1520 or HP dv6500z...

    Heroes

Edited snippets from my journal review. Petrellicest: This show is making me think incest, and think it hard. Not that I was a perfect saint before, of course. Still. Two of them flying together, all burning up and flailing? Uhm, wow. Just wow. Then Nathan had to be burnt like bacon, but until then it was nice and yummy. Adam/Peter: Peter is too gentle for his own good, and just when you think he's learned his lessons, all it takes is a British accent to tell him what he wants to hear… Peter is such a masochist without even realizing it. Adam's "You can do it!" was so over the top and cheesy, but it works for Peter, even though Adam is probably laughing silently. I absolutely loved Peter's "Whoah...you're hot! o.o " reaction when he first sees Adam. Elle: Die, please? Seriously, she really grated on my nerves. Ironically, I hated her treating Peter like a puppy. Wonder Twins: Boring, boring, BORING! Niki, D.L., Micah: Bringing up this "Gina" personality screamed of cheap plot device. Ugh. Cheap shit like this makes me glad there's a writers' strike going on. They killed the wrong spouse. D.L. was, basically, the most balanced character, and he has to die like a punk bitch. Yes, I am still VERY MUCH PISSED at the lack of M3.

    The Writer's Strike

Damn, beat me to it. :/ Woe is me, not bringing the yaoi content. Odd that the pic didn't show up in the post, though. Ahem, anyway. A friend of meine posted this video. Didn't make it, just passing it on. So, I am as well. Edit: The video is basically explaining the strike to those lost. With shiny, cartoony images and a voiceover. Nifty.

Soooo....Heroes and House won't be effected? Alright, I'm cool with it, then.

    'Spaced' American Version

Oh, come now. You don't expect the average, dim-witted, trailer-living American to get British shows, do you? The British humor would just be beyond their mental capacity.

What is your favourite web browser

Firefox, without a doubt. So much customization with Greasemonkey and Stylish. Also, love the add-ons, like the email notifiers (got two currently: one for gmail and one for yahoo). Everything neat, tidy, organized just how I like it. Ever heard of Download Statusbar?

I was thinking Nathan for 7. Cuz of the scruffy beard. Although, its likely Suresh shooting HRG.

    SAW IV

Youtube video deleted. You can see it here. http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Saw-Footage...-Show-6371.html Now they're just getting ridiculous. Beyond that, even. So much for realism.

    SAW IV

Lame. Without Jigsaw or Amanda, the series ended at Saw III for me. Hell, even better, Saw II. The series was never high art, but first was somewhat enjoyable - a psychological thriller trapped in a horror film's body, as Whannell described it. They're turning it into an annual Halloween torture-porn freakshow. I loathe the term 'torture porn', as it seems such a pop culture label, and Saw really didn't fit it.... to begin with. Now they're simply catering to the masses. Whoah, bit of a long rant.

    Manhunt 2 Receives AO Rating

From yahoo: http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/070829/netherlands...nhunt.html?.v=1 Quote: Dutch Won't Ban Video Game Manhunt II Wednesday August 29, 2:24 pm ET Justice Minister Says No Ban on Video Game Manhunt II Possible Under Dutch Law AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -- The Dutch Justice Ministry declined to intervene Wednesday to prevent the Dutch release of "Manhunt 2" -- a video game that caused a flap in the United States and has effectively been banned in several European countries for excessive violence. In a letter to parliament, Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin said there was no way to ban the game under Dutch law, but it would theoretically be possible to prosecute people who distribute it to youth under 16 if its images were violent enough. No such case has yet been tried in the Netherlands. In the game, players perform a series of killing moves as an amnesiac scientist who escapes from an asylum. The game had been scheduled for an international release in July, but that was put on hold after the British Board of Film Classification refused to rate the game, making it impossible to distribute in Britain. Germany banned it outright. In the U.S., the Entertainment Software Rating Board, an industry group, slapped it with an adults-only rating, for consumers 18 and older. That would have prevented it from being distributed in the largest U.S. chains, and the game's maker, New York-based Take-Two Interactive Software Inc., is now toning down the initial version. Unlike in Britain or Germany, there is no authoritative ratings board or law in the Netherlands banning games purely for violent content, Hirsch Ballin wrote. "The current law is based on the principle that every adult is considered capable of deciding for himself which games he wants to play, unless it contains illegal material," he said. That would include racist propaganda or images appealing to pedophiles. Deciding on whether children should be allowed to play a game is currently "the joint responsibility of parents, the audiovisual industry and the government," he said. His ministry was now examining whether new laws or policies were needed "to better protect the youth," he said. He pleaded for a unified EU standard for video game ratings. "A joint approach could lead to a ban on the most violent games," he wrote.

    The Brothers Solomon

I actually liked Let's Go To Prison. Sure it didn't make much, but who cares? Sure, it had its faults, but Arnett was absolute 0wnage. Totally a copy of Gob, which is what made it so great. Anyway, love the trailer. Hilarious to see him dating Jenna, considering Blades where they played siblings (then again, considering he's married to his 'sister' in that movie...) Also, "Marry Me!" is so a reference to Arrested Development. I love this trailer. Chi McBride! I'm sold. As if I wasn't already.

    oAo Movie Rentals Thread

I adored Red Dragon. The dynamic between Hannibal and Will was a lot more interesting than Hannibal/Clarice. ...And no comments from the peanut gallery Recent rentals: Fracture: Very good. Short enough that it doesn't outlast its welcome, yet lengthy enough that you get the full story needed. Very stylish too; I loved all the blends of warm colors to cold, juxtaposed/combined/contrasted seamlessly. Interesting twist, too. Hopkins at his mischievous best. If I had one complaint, it was the story focusing too much on Gosling's character. Its not that he's boring or anything, but the scenes with him at parties, flirting with his new boss were just throwaways, especially as she's the cliched love interest. She's too flat a character. Anyway good movie all around. No money on the credit card for Netflix right now, so all my rentals are through Family Video, at a half-price subscription (new releases are only $1.30 for us). I can't decide if I want to rent Heroes and copy the discs, or buy the set (damn the case is appealing...) luke-o, I'd love to know what you think of Blades of Glory when you see it =)

    Priest arrested...

You seem to know an awful lot about the psychology of a homosexual. I doubt it. More likely she's ashamed of her own nudity and has to take it out on others. If he was some hot choir boy, she wouldn't be complaining.

...What a bitch. Don't like it, don't look.

    Girls gets arrested for filming...

Only way I'd sit through a cam version of a film is if its something I really, *really* want to see and can't - ie, X-Men 2 or Fantastic Four 2 - and the quality is watchable. But otherwise? Hell no. I usually wait for a dvd rip, but even then, I'd rather rent.

    Heroes

NBC.com officially sucks. They only have a scant few episodes up that have commentary, and of the few available - from .07% to '...Exploding Man' - only .07% and 'String Theory' work. The others are unavailable. Any word on if those commentaries are appearing on the dvd, or if its new ones? I hope for the former. Because the entire cast all at once, ala Arrested Development, would be a clusterfuck.
