PWG Presents "Uncanny X-Mas" On December 18! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Curry Village, California - At Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) last event, "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)," fans witnessed what can be best described as an earthquake hitting the PWG landscape, with the impressive debuts of El Generico, Jack Evans, and Kevin Steen, the Aerial Express missing in action, the Havana Pitbulls flat out demanding a shot at the PWG Tag Team Titles, the unmasking of Los Rojo Locos, and Super Dragon walking away with the PWG Championship. While PWG Commissioner Paul T. is as liberal as just about anyone, even he doesn't like to see things in such disarray, which is why he's putting his wetsuit clad foot down at December's "Uncanny X-Mas!" And no, Paul T. is not putting his foot down on the wet sand of the Pacific beaches, where mud and muck can squish through his toes, and sand gets in his shoes, and as a result of that, into his car and home, even as far as his bed! No, dear wrestling fan, Paul T. is putting his foot down on the concrete of Hollywood, where all of PWG will feel the reverberations! The first victims of Paul T.'s commissionatorial wrath some months ago, The Ballard Brothers (aka Los Rojo Locos,) will have their fate in PWG decided at "Uncanny X-Mas," and this time, it's not even up to them! Since the Ballards are officially banned from PWG, their reinstatement is up to Top Gun Talwar and Human Tornado! If Tornado wins, the Ballards are allowed back in PWG. If Top Gun wins, the Ballard Brothers remain banned! The Havana Pitbulls, who earlier this year beat (the Paul T. managed) Tokyo GURENTAI, will receive their title shot at "Uncanny X-Mas," but with one small stipulation; If the Pitbulls lose, they must clean and wax Paul T's surfboards every day for no less than 30 days, regardless if the board is used or not. While no one can be sure if Paul T. is holding a grudge for his earlier loss at the hands of the Pitbulls, or potentially punishing them for their outspoken nature, fans can be sure that this will be Chris Bosh & Scott Lost's toughest test in their short reign as PWG Tag Team Champions. While on the subject of tag teams, the Aerial Express may have thought they dodged a bullet by ducking El Generico & Kevin Steen, but they haven't dodged it for long, since at "Uncanny X-Mas," the original match will take place, with Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky taking on Generico & Steen. But not so fast, faithful fan! If the AXP lose the "International Friendship Match," Quicksilver and Scorpio Sky will not be allowed to team together in PWG for no less than 6 months! Hokey smokes! With so much on his plate, Commissioner Paul T. could easily forget about the rest of the PWG roster, but that is not the case! Super Dragon will face his first challenge as PWG Champion, when he takes on the returning "Wonder Kid" Jonny Storm! Also returning to PWG will be "Classic" Colt Cabana, as he teams up with B-Boy to take on the S.B.S. duo of Disco Machine & Excalibur! Frankie Kazarian tries to rebound from his title loss as he faces Puma, who is on a 5 match winning streak in PWG! Plus, in a No Time Limit Match, "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson battles Samoa Joe for number one contendership of the PWG Championship! "Uncanny X-Mas" takes place on December 18, 2004 at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC, and will feature: PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. Jonny Storm PWG Tag Team Championship Match "Photogenic" Chris Bosh & Scott Lost © vs. Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) No Time Limit - Number 1 Contenders Match "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen Frankie Kazarian vs. Puma B-Boy & Colt Cabana vs. S.B.S. (Disco Machine & Excalibur) Ballard Brothers Reinstatement Match Top Gun Talwar (with Supa Badd) vs. Human Tornado Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Uncanny X-Mas" takes place the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 7:00PM. The Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC is located at 1110 Bates Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029. Tickets are only $15 each, and will be available at the door. For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------ On top of all the amazing information about PWG's next live event, fans will also be able to purchase "The Next Show" and "Use Your Illusion 3" on DVD from www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com within the next two weeks. Plus the entire library of old PWG events will soon be available for purchase (and fans will still be able to use the Back to School sale!) Also at www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com, fans can wrap themselves in the brand new Super Dragon t-shirt, also for only $15 each. And those who enjoy the work of PWG's new champion should keep an eye out for Super Dragon Evolution 4, which will be 4 discs and include matches from across the globe, maybe even the Democratic Republic of Congo! Or maybe not. And lastly, for those fans who like to plan things well in advance, PWG will be at the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC all throughout 2005, including: January 22, February 12, March 12, and back to back shows on April 1 & 2!

PWG Presents "Uncanny X-Mas" On December 18!

Results: Human Tornado and Ronin Beat Excalibur and Top Gun Talwar after Tornado pinned Top Gun Tony Stradlin Beat Chirstopher Daniels Chris Hero made Austin Aries submit (MOTN IMO) The AXP beat Kevin Steen and El Generico after Sky pinned Steen. Super Dragon pinned Jonny Storm after a Blue Thunder driver off the top. Afterward Super Dragon was attacked by.... Super Dragon? Colt Cabana pinned Spanky in a freaking hilarious match. Lost/Bosh over Havana Pitbulls by DQ after The AXP ran in. Samoa Joe over American Dragon I'll hopefully have a more detailed write up later, but I REALLY loved the show. Maybe the best PWG show ever. Def. their most solid show ever (better than REASON in that respect for sure) My favorite match was Hero Vs. Aries (the battle for X-MAS!) followed by SD Vs. Storm. I thought every match was excellent though. Well, you could say AD Vs. Joe was a letdown though (and by LETDOWN I mean it was only VERY good instead of MOTY, and it "only" went over 20-25 mins) And what about the debut from Spanky's bodyguard KNUCKLES! I loved that guy! I was just busting up just watching him stand there! And his PUNCH of DEATH! Classic! The whole Spanky-Cabana match was funny as hell (gotta love the pre match Danielson, Daniels, Spanky, Knuckles dance while holding Daniels pics! also classic!) Anyway, put this one on the top of your TO BUY LIST when it comes out... you won't be dissapointed one single bit. Hell of a fun show... -
PWG Presents "Uncanny X-Mas" On December 18!
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
(Yes, another one of these things!) Hello friends, and welcome to the first annual “Thoughts and Predictions” poly-denominational holiday special, in which we will be (Unofficially) previewing Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s December 18th 2004 event, entitled “Uncanny X-Mas” that is shaping up to be their biggest event to date. Free Admission (Just Kidding) saw the balance of power in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla shift. As Super Dragon did what seemingly no other competitor could ever accomplish in PWG, he dethroned the king of cool, Frankie Kazarian for the PWG Title (cleanly no less! Minus the thumbtacks and the Jason Allgood!) Now on December 18th, The Super Dragon era will begin. As Super Dragon will make his first title defense against a man who has pushed him to his limit in the past, international superstar Jonny Storm! Also! The one of the most intense rivalries in all of SoCal finally meets its apex as SAMOA JOE wages war with AMERICAN DRAGON Bryan Danielson… and for the first time ever in SoCal... there will be No Time Limit! We will see a positive finish! In a first time ever dream match, Chris Hero makes his return to PWG against the debuting Austin Aries! Get those “*’s” ready… The arrogant PWG Tag team champions Scott Lost and Chris Bosh are set for the biggest PWG tag title defense in the history of the titles, as they will have to meet the challenge of the seemingly unstoppable Havana Pitbulls! It’s International warfare as Canada’s best once again invade PWG, as unlikely duo of El Generico and Kevin Steen will have to put their differences aside if they hope to overcome the challenge of the hottest tag team on The West Coast, The Aerial Express! In a match that will send shock waves throughout the world of Major League Baseball, Spanky makes his long awaited return to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla against “Classic” Colt Cabana! PWG’s resident P.I.M.P. The Human Tornado fights the very future of The Ballard Brothers as does battle with the intense TOP GUN Talwar! GOD DAMN IT! On with the matches: Ballard Brothers Reinstatement Match Top Gun Talwar (with Supa Badd) vs. Human Tornado Backstory: May 22nd 2004, at PWG’s “44 Ways to kill you with a pimento” fresh off a DQ victory over American Dragon and Samoa Joe at “Kee_ The _ee out of our _ool” The Ballard Brothers hit the ring and demanded a tag title shot. Which prompted PWG Commissioner Paul T. to lay down the stipulation that if the Ballards won their match with The X-Foundation EH they would receive a shot at the titles… but if they came up short… they’d be banned from PWG…. Oh course you know what happened, The X-Foundation defeated the Ballards… banishing them from PWG and all future PWG club activities (including the famous PWG pancake breakfasts) After being sent packing, The Ballards devised the perfect way to sneak back into PWG. By wrestling under masks as the Mexican team "Los Rojos Locos" (an old gimmick the team had done in 1998) and for many months they pulled it off, and were undefeated (they are victorious at in an 8 man at “Reason for the season” survived the Tag gauntlet at “Ooze”) Until “Use Your Illusion 3” when Los Rojo Locos teamed up with Hockey aficionado Supa Badd to take on the team of FBK, Ronin and Chuck Mercury. After LRL took the victory… they had a bitter miscommunication with partner Supa Badd that resulted in some hockey style goonery! This led Supa Badd to seek revenge on all the Whos down in Whoville by recruiting the Grinch (Top Gun Talwar), who lived just north of Whoville. This Grinch hated Ballards, Christmas, Rojo Locos, Narcs, People named “Earl” and the last several seasons of “Cheers” Oh, please don't ask why, no one quite knows the reason. It could be, perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. Or maybe his head wasn't screwed on just right… but sucka was pissed off and hungry for Ballard blood So at “Free Admission (Just Kidding) after SBS scored a victory over Los Rojos Locos… Supa Badd and that roided up monster Top Gun Talwar rushed the ring and unmasked Los Rojos Locos… revealing…. THE BALLARD BROTHERS! (This shocking revelation shook the earth to it’s very core! What’s next? Bruce Wayne is Batman or something?) Then from out of nowhere… a tornado hits…A HUMAN TORNADO! And makes the save for the Los Ballards Locos and chases off those rat soup eatin' mofo’s! Now with their true identities revealed, the question had to be asked... would the Ballards once again be forced to leave PWG? And why did CNBC cancel the John McEnroe show? That was awesome! Later PWG declared Popcorn to be "delicious" and also that the Ballard’s fate would be decided in a good old fashioned hockey brawl between Top Gun Talwar and The Human Tornado! If Top Gun wins… the Ballards remain like every other hockey player right now… unemployed and Canadian, but if The Human Tornado wins… the Ballards get their jobs back and the NHL lock out is ended! Can The Human Tornado stop the grinchy Top Gun Talwar from stealing Christmas from all the Ballards in Ballardville? Will he save the future of modern professional hockey? Where are my car keys? Find out… December 18th! Past History? : They’ve met in several tag matches and 6/8 man tags including the very unique Top Gun Talwar/ Kushinbo Kamen Vs. Human Tornado/Ebessan in Revolution Pro. PWG Records? : Top Gun Talwar is 5-7 overall, 1-1 as a single, The Human Tornado is 1-4 overall. My Thoughts? Not much of a mystery about this one, it’s not going to be a “wrestling classic” what it is going to be however is buckets o’ fun. Just think about it, the coked up, ref raping, roid popping Top Gun meets the Human Tornado! Classic. Be prepared to laugh… cry… and then maybe laugh again! Should be a great opener... My Prediction? : Human Tornado discovers the true meaning of Christmas, and gets the Ballard Brothers back into PWG! (I know the new PWG press release has nothing about this match listed anymore… but DAMN I already wrote all that!) Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Kevin Steen and El Generico Backstory: After months of PWG inactivity, at UYI3 The AXP returned and once again embarked on the long and winding road to the PWG Tag titles. But in order to earn a title shot, they had to go through the formitable team of Disco Machine and Excalibur. After a dead even hard fought battle, the AXP were able to defeat S.B.S. after their spiking Excalibur with their feared running dropkick/piledriver combination. It was now clear the AXP were indeed back and they were hungry for the gold (not just Curley’s gold either!) So at PWG’s “Use Your Illusion 4” The AXP ran finally received their title match but ran into a little bump on the road to the titles. After an incredible match, they thought they’d won the belts from Lost and Bosh…but later learned that they had in fact lost the match by way of disqualification via Babi Slymm’s interference! Just great! In order to get back in position for a tag title rematch, they were set to face the international team of Kevin Steen and El Generico at Free Admission (Just Kidding) But due to other conflicts that match was changed… to Kevin Steen Vs. El Generico. Who proceeded to rip each other apart in an amazing spectacle of a match… that ended up winning the fans over and just may have stole the whole show. Now at “Uncanny X-mas” these two teams are once again set to meet in squared circle combat. Only this time, the catch is… if the AXP lose, they will be unable to team in PWG for a peroid of 6 months (a lifetime and a half in wrestling) So for the AXP…. this is a must win match. The AXP’s very future as a tag team depends on it…. PWG Records? : Quicksilver is 7-8, and Sky is 6-7, 3-2 as a duo (Wins over the Ballards, Iron Saints and Excalibur/Disco Machine, Lost to Havana Pitbulls and Arrogence) Kevin Steen is 0-1 and El Generico is 1-0 My Thoughts? : Yes once again, PWG brings the best to us! Last time, Kevin Steen and El Generico highly impressed with an amazing display of awesomeness. This time around we will see the match we were supposed to see last month as Steen/Generico will meet one of the best teams going right now, The AXP. I still don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad AXP match so of course you know this is going to be good. I’m already cringing at the thought of poor Quicksilver taking Generico's Turnbuckle Brainbuster or one of Steen’s huge head-dropping sup-lays.... or package piledriver. I think on paper these teams match up superbly... really can't wait for this one. This will be craploads (Yes, "crapload" is a real unit of measure... look it up!) of fun. With guys like El Generico and Scorpio Sky in the same ring at the same time... how can it not be? Fun Fact: Steen and Generico have only teamed up once before… last Saturday in CZW, where had a reportly wild show stealing match with former PWG tag team champions, Super Dragon and Excalibur. My Prediction? : Kevin Steen and El Generico pull the upset. As AXP seems to be broken up as a team everywhere else nowadays. Maybe it's a trend? Like those horrible Virtual Pets. PWG Tag Team Championship Match "Photogenic" Chris Bosh & Scott Lost © vs. The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes and Rocky Romero) Last time: After an impressive victory over Team PWI, The Havana Pitbulls got on the mic and demanded a shot at the PWG tag titles, they told us the fans to go on SoCalUncensored.com or whatever crap and demand it! And we did… so they did... so there Past History? : Scott Lost has met The Havana Pitbulls a few times in tag matches with partner Joey Ryan. PWG Records? : Ricky Reyes is 8-4 overall, Rocky Romero is 5-2 overall, 5-1 as a duo (with victories over Aerial Express, Hardkore Inc, The Iron Saints, GURENTAI, Apollo Kahn/Hook Bomberry) Scott Lost is 12-8 overall, Chris Bosh is 7-8, 2-0 as a duo (wins over B-Boy/Super Dragon, Aerial Express) Fun PWG Fact: With 2 successful title defenses, Chris Bosh and Scott Lost are now the most successful tag title holders in the nearly one year history of the titles. Amazing eh? My Thoughts? This is probably one of the matches on the card, I’m most looking forward to. As Scott Lost and Chris Bosh have fast become one of my favorite teams to watch. It’s amazing that a team with only two prior team ups, can have the tag team continuity the team of Scott Lost and Chris Bosh has displayed. The matches they had with B-Boy/Super Dragon and The Aerial Express could be considered to be two of the most entertaining tag matches this year, not only in PWG but in all of wrestling. So if you happen to be new to PWG or just missed the last couple of shows… trust me… Lost/Bosh aren’t a crappy throw together team… they are the real deal like Holyfield baby (wonder what new backbreakers they will come up with this time) The challengers: The Havana Pitbulls are of course widely considered to be among the top tag teams in all the world, and have held gold all other the globe, including tag team titles in such promotions as UPW, EWF, IWC, MPW, ROH and others. Very seldom is one disappointed by a Havana Pitbulls matches. I just kind of feel bad for Chris Bosh here… after seeing the beating Super Dragon and B-Boy gave to him at “UYI3” I can only imagine what The Pitbulls could have in store for him here… ouch that’ll hurt come winter. Great to see in this day and age of people complaining about all the all crappy tag teams in the world, PWG is able to include two amazing looking tag matches. Let's see you try that, WWE. It’s easy to sound like a broken record when dealing with a card this stacked… but I'll take a chance here and award this match as my 'prestigious' pick for the sleeper match of the night. I really think this will surprise a lot of people… let's get Scott Lost on the east coast already! My Prediction? : Scott Lost and Chris Bosh retain the titles. X-Mas in Havana: Did you know… Christmas has been celebrated as a holiday in Cuba for only a few years now. The Christmas holiday was only celebrated in Cuba until 1969, when Fidel Castro decided it was interfering with the prized sugar harvest (oh no NOT THE SUGAR HARVEST!) In 1997 however President Castro restored the holiday to honor, the visit of Pope John Paul II in the island. What was the point that? Well at least you can say you learned something by reading this…. " Classic " Colt Cabana vs. Spanky Last Time: Both men fell to Frankie Kazarian in singles matches in their last PWG appearances (at Ooze and Kee_ the _ee, respectively) PWG Records: Colt Cabana is 4-3, 3-3 as a single, Spanky is 0-1 My Thoughts: This is a DREAM match…. Two of most wacky personalities in wrestling will finally collide! It’s like if The Three Stooges met Cheech and Chong, if Bob Hope met Rodney Dangerfield or if Joe Pesci met Christian Slater and they starred in a movie where they formed a group called the "S.O.S." and fought crime in Hollywood? It ain’t gonna happen! Only in PWG! So what happens when you combine wrestling's 2 biggest goofballs into one match? Well I suppose their overwelming comedic forces could create a comedy vortex that will suck us all into infinity, ending humanity as we know it or... it could just produce a hell of a fun match. Take your pick! Personally I'm leaning toward the comedy vortex thing. My Prediction: Ha ha I don't care really, I just hope they exchange promos before the match… that’d probably be worth the admission price alone. But for the sake of the record books, I'll go with Cabana. Chris Hero Vs. Austin Aries Last Time: Chris Hero came up short in an excellent match against Super Dragon at “The Next Show” Past History? : As far as I know this will be their first ever meeting. Though they were originally set to meet on one of those doomed H2 wrestling shows. . Both are regulars with IWA: MID South so I’m surprised this one hasn’t happened before… PWG Records: Chris Hero is 2-2, 0-1 as a single; Austin Aries will be making his PWG debut. My thoughts: Chris Hero as most of who follow the Indy world should already know, is one of the most accomplished and learned wrestlers on the scene today. He has wrestled all over the world (at least 20 different states and 7 different countries) including England, Japan, Germany, Switzerland and . So he's been everywhere, seen everything, probably wrestled nearly everyone there is to face and learned everything there is to learn in the business. Maybe best known for his classic 93-minute match with CM Punk in 2003. Chris Hero is always pulling something new out of his vast bag of tricks… never know what to expect from him! As for Austin Aries, for those you maybe not be familiar with him, he’s probably been THE breakout star of 2004. Surprised many by making it to the finals of the 2004 ECWA Super 8, where he lost to Christopher Daniels, he then went on to become the next big thing in the popular east coast “Ring of Honor” promotion. Where’s he had several excellent bouts with the likes of Low-Ki, CM Punk, Doug Williams and a pair of great matches with American Dragon (including a 75 plus minute wrestling clinic) and is set to face Samoa Joe for the Ring of honor title later this month (where he’s favored to be the one that finally end Joe’s nearly 2 year reign) He’s really come out of seemingly nowhere to become one of the best on the scene. Just recently making his SoCal debut for “WAR” where he recently won their World title by defeating the likes of Scott Lost, Super Dragon and ah The Messiah Gary Yap. Aries has often been called “Intense” and “explosive” after seeing him live in Pro Wrestling WAR, I can tell you... he's great on tape... but must be experienced live. I think they should match up against each other quite nicely. This should be a real treat for all who attend this event, as we could see a potential classic here. Damn this is gonna rule yo..... (am I the king of in depth match insight or what?) My Prediction: Gotta say Chris Hero. Fun PWG Fact: All but one PWG event (counting Tango and Cash as one event) has featured a debuting talent. Someone guess what event didn’t have a debuting talent? You’ll get… well nothing... but let's see who gets it (just to test if someone actually reads this) No Time Limit - Number 1 Contenders Match " American Dragon " Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe Danielson Vs. Joe: The West Side Story: It all started in June 2002 in EPIC Pro Wrestling after American Dragon scored a hard fought victory over Super Dragon. Super Dragon’s Team Chismo stablemates Disco Machine and Excalibur display some poor sportsmanship and attack American Dragon…. That is until SAMOA JOE hit the ring and cleans house on Team Chismo… or so we thought… as he then blindsided American Dragon! What provoked this vicious attack? And why had Samoa Joe aligned with Super Dragon? How many licks does it take to get to tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? (I never made it without biting) In an interview afterward, Samoa Joe admitted he was sick and tired of American Dragon always getting favorable treatment from promotions, while he had to earn everything the hard way (some things just never change eh?) I believe the words Joe used were: "You little Golden boy, promotion built around you, son of a bitch" In American Dragon's country (umm America I think) them are fighting words! This then lead to their first meeting in a truly fantastic tag match, American Dragon/Spanky Vs. Super Dragon/Samoa Joe at EPIC's "Pain and Suffering" July 17th 2002 (In a match voted the 2nd best SoCal match of the year, and some say it was the bout that first really broke Samoa Joe out as a major force to contend with) Samoa Joe appeared unstoppable as he… just well…. obliterated both of his opponents seemingly with ease. Super Dragon eventually scored the pinfall on Sir Spanks a lot after the Super Natural Driver…. But it was clear… Samoa Joe had sent a definite message to American Dragon. This ultimately led to their first singles ever meeting at EPIC's "Bigger Badder Better" in Sept. 2002. The two just tore into each other with a sickening array of brutal strikes (Dragon’s chest was BRIGHT red after this one) power moves and submission holds. American Dragon had stood up to the monster… and appeared to be have the match won as he locked in the cattle mutilation and looked to finally silence Joe… but just then the 20-minute time limit expires! And the match was ruled a time limit draw… It was clear this was only the beginning… and that this issue was far from over... but sadly the same couldn't be said for EPIC as they went out of business before the feud could ever come to a positive finish... Enter PWG On March 27th 2004 at PWG's "Kee_ The _ee Out of Our _ool!" Samoa Joe recruited American Dragon as his tag partner in order to get revenge on the Ballards Brothers (Shannon had cheated to defeat Joe by DQ the month before after using Eddy Guerrero like tactics) BUT this time Samoa Joe cost his team the match by snapping on Shannon Ballard and being DQed for real this time after refusing to break a hold on a 5 count. American Dragon was none to pleased with losing and ended up leading the Ballards in an attack on Joe. Perhaps their old rivalry was arising once again… All this treachery lead to their long awaited rematch at "PWG: The Musical" April 17th 2004 (called by many the greatest match in PWG history up to that point) It started off light hearted as they both snapped their fingers and circled each other in Westside Story fashion (It was a Musical after all!) but the lighthearted mood soon proved fleeting. As this one turned into a truly sadistic affair that saw both men just... well stiff the shit out of each other for lack of a better term (some of these strikes were borderline assault! Cringe worthy for sure) after a dead even 30 minutes of all out war, the time limit for the match expired! (shades of the EPIC Pro Wrestling match) These 2 were clearly just getting warmed up and just when it appeared that the match would be given 5 more minutes and this issue would be settled once and for all, American Dragon was jumped out of nowhere by Ricky Reyes! Which lead to a Joe/Reyes double team on Dragon. Furious with this, American Dragon vowed revenge on Reyes/Samoa Joe “The Pedophile World Champion” the next time he appeared in PWG. When Danielson finally returned to PWG at "The Reason for the season" July 10th 2004 he enlisted the services of Christopher Daniels to be his partner against Samoa Joe and Ricky Reyes! After yet another hard fought battle, American Dragon was able to get some revenge by defeating Ricky Reyes to win the match. Now with Reyes out of the way, Dragon's sights were set directly on the number one man on his revenge depth chart, Samoa Joe! PWG had announced Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon in the first ever “SUPER No time limit” match for “Secret of the Ooze” on August 14th…. But due to Dragon’s pressing commitments in Japan (he's like Elvis over there) the match had to changed… to Samoa Joe Vs. Super Dragon (the man Joe had originally aligned with to get at American Dragon) in which Samoa Joe defeated Super Dragon via count out to earn a shot at The PWG title (but that a whole different story) So when American Dragon returned to PWG at “The Next Show” getting a match with Samoa Joe was out of the question…. But that didn’t prevent him from getting some payback on his rival…. So during Samoa Joe's PWG title match against Frankie Kazarian... American Dragon (and Super Dragon) ran out and delivered a message to Samoa Joe and that message was: “This is what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real!” after a huge altercation, the match was halted. American Dragon had in part cost Samoa Joe the PWG championship. This clearly didn’t sit well with Joe, Just how would he plan to extract his revenge on the man who robbed him of the PWG title? Scheduling conflicts prevented them to colliding on the last three PWG shows… but after a victory over Scott Lost at “Free Admission (Just Kidding” American Dragon made a challenge to Samoa Joe… to finally settle this issue… once and for all. So on December 18th at PWG’s holiday extravaganza “Uncanny X-Mas” Samoa Joe and American Dragon will clash one more time… this time with NO TIME LIMIT! For the first time ever in SoCal, we will see a positive finish between these two! As they battle not only for retribution…. but for a shot at the prized PWG title… Who will finally admerge from this heated battle as the better man? SAMOA JOE Vs. American Dragon: The Complete History! (Sure I'm missing something though) (winners) Samoa Joe/Super Dragon Vs. American Dragon/Spanky – EPIC Pain and Suffering (Samoa Joe/Super Dragon) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon – EPIC Bigger Badder Better (20 minute time limit draw) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon Vs. Steve Corino Vs. Low-Ki – ROH Final Battle 2002 12/03 (45 min draw) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon – ROH 1/03 Revenge on The Prophecy (Samoa Joe) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon – ROH One-Year Anniversary 2/03 (American Dragon) Samoa Joe/American Dragon Vs. Briscoes Brothers – ROH 1/04 (Briscoes) Samoa Joe/American Dragon Vs. Ballard Brothers – PWG (Ballard Brothers) Samoa Joe/Bobby Quance Vs. American Dragon/Hardkore Kid – Inoki Dojo – 4/04 (American Dragon/Hardkore Kidd) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon – PWG The Musical (30 minute draw) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon Vs. Mark Briscoe Vs. Homicide Vs. Colt Cabana Vs. Austin Aries – ROH Survival of the Fittest (American Dragon) Samoa Joe/Ricky Reyes Vs. American Dragon/Christopher Daniels – PWG Reason for the Season (American Dragon/Christopher Daniels) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon Vs. AJ Styles – IWA:MS Ted Petty Invitational finals (AJ Styles) Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon – ROH: Midnight Express Reunion (Samoa Joe) PWG Records: American Dragon is 8-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 as a single; Samoa Joe is 7-1-1 as a single. My Thoughts: Hmm, what needs to be said? As everyone should know by now… when you put these two together… you get something special. I’d agree with those who say their first PWG match was one of the greatest matches in the promotions history thus far… (and really they were just getting warmed up in that one!) It's interesting to view the progression of each Joe-Danielson match, each time they just find a way to top their previous encounters. Their last match in Ring of Honor on 10/2/04 far topped the PWG bout (that’s saying something) and if the trend continues… we have a strong.. {Fighting the urge to use super overused lame ass term} MOTYC here (Ugh feel so dirty…) Especially now with the time limit thrown out I don't see anyway they won't top themselves AGAIN with this one. Trust me, I know… I’ve been to Utah... My Prediction?: Samoa Joe, setting up the huge rematch with Super Dragon. Which would be one of PWG’s biggest matches to date. PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. Jonny Storm Past History? : Met in the first round of PWG’s Tango and Cash, Super Dragon/American Dragon Vs. Jonny Storm/Excalibur, and also in a 30 minute Iron Man match in IPW-UK, where Super Dragon defeated Jonny Storm 30 minute Iron man match 3-2 in sudden death. In a match highly acclaimed from all accounts. PWG Records?: Super Dragon is 18-6 overall, 10-2 as a single, Jonny Storm is 0-2 My Thoughts? : Jonny Storm made a great impression in his last PWG appearance {so adorable!} and it’s great to see him finally back in SoCal. And what a match they gave him upon his return! Granting him the first shot at the new champion Super Dragon. If anyone remembers the terrific series of exchanges they had during Super Dragon/American Dragon Vs. Jonny Storm/Excalibur at “Tango and Cash” and read all the reports of their IPW-UK match being quote “amazing” you know why I have high hopes for this one… But seriously does Jonny actually have a chance at winning the title? Could this be a holiday miracle? If TV has taught me anything, it's that miracles always happen at Christmas. It happened to Tiny Tim, it happened to Charlie Brown, it happened to the Smurfs, it happened to Nestor the Long-Eared Christmas Donkey. Is it going to happen for Jonny Storm? Well… no.. probably not… but just should be an incredibly fun, fast paced, high flying match. And as with every other match on this card… this one could end up stealing the whole show. Sometimes I wish PWG would book something that sucks already… damn all this stuff will be good. My prediction: Super Dragon retains the belt, leading into a title what should be a huge showdown with the winner of Samoa Joe/American Dragon Plus Excalibur, Tony Stradlin, Human Tornado, Top Gun Talwar, Ronin, and more are set to appear! (which makes me wonder if the Tornado-Top Gun match is still on.. hmmm) Final Thoughts: Ok, with the recent additions… this is on paper PWG’s strongest card to date. Honestly several of the matches will probably be worth the admission price alone! Heck if the card was just American Dragon Vs. Samoa Joe, and 4 matches featuring dancing monkeys I’d still say this one was a must attend show! So if you live anywhere near Los Angeles CA and even have a passing interest in wrestling ATTEND THIS SHOW!! Let’s sell this mother out…. Hey why Not? Here are 8 popular excuses for not attending and the EASY solutions to them! : Popular Excuse #1: It's running against Tarver vs. Johnson! Dude, It’s the battle for the TRUE CHAMPION as the Light Heavyweight Boxing Championship rocks STAPLES Center on Saturday, 12/18! Solution: Boxing? Fool…. you tripping, that shit is fixed. Excuse 2: "I'm in jail" Solution: Break out, it’s easy! Ever seen Hogan’s Heroes? If that pervert Bob Crane could do it… surely you can! Excuse 3: "I live in [Fill place here] and can't get here" Solution: Hey a little walking never killed ya fat ass! Or you could: Fly out on a wacky new invention called an AEROPLANE! You have a thumb right? So then Hitchhike! (great way to meet exciting new people!) Take a Bus, Try a Taxi, use the monorail! Excuse 4: "Is there a chance the track could bend?" Solution: Not on your life, my Hindu friend. Excuse 5: "It’s the holiday season and I have no money!” Solution: Hmm well I certainty won’t advise you to go rob old ladies :wink wink: but hey! What about selling blood? I mean it’s not like you ever use the stuff anyway. Ever wake up and say, “Gee, I’m glad I have all this blood!” NO! So what’s a few pints? Blood is for babies and little girls! Excuse 6: "The card doesn't look that great" Solution: You're an idiot or blind (hmm or a rare blind idiot) Excuse 8: But Brian Setzer Orchestra and Marilyn Manson are also playing that day maan!! Solution: Don’t make me hit you! Just go to PWG already! So there you go, the only legit excuses for not attending this show is being dead or having to attend a Wedding or if you rented "4 Weddings and a furneral" and it's due back to Video Hut on the 19th! Seriously, what better place to celebrate Christmas… than a Jewish center!!!!! OY! So support this great promotion and bring friends! Doesn’t matter if they like wrestling or not… because this show will be like wrestling crack… so once they get a dose they’ll be hooked for sure (unless they happen to be on real crack) It’s GATEWAY DRUG MAAAN! Please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/news/ for official show details. Also don’t forget, PWG is also the place to do your last minute holiday shopping! I know I personally plan on doing all my holiday related shopping at the PWG merch. Booth. If my dad doesn’t like his Super Dragon T-shirt…. That’s his problem…. Looking for a gift for that lousy hard to please girlfriend? Bitch is taking her “44 Ways to kill you with a pimento” DVD and liking it! If you can’t attend the show… then do your PWG holiday shopping online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/merch/ and take advantage of their X-Mas special. Where you can order the entire PWG back catalog… including The Next Show and one of my favorite PWG shows to date “Use Your Illusion 3” Alright, you guys, that’s all for this time… but first just permit me one sentimental moment here. I have something to say: Christmas. It's not the giving, it's not the getting, it's the loving. There, I said it. Now get out of here. (Thanks Garfield!) Please leave feedback, cookies for Santa or whatever right here…or e-mail it to [email protected] (remove the Xs) Thanks for reading.... -
PWG Presents "Uncanny X-Mas" On December 18!
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
MY GOD... huge Card update: Holiday Message From Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Hey, we need to talk. We know we really don't get to see a lot of each other, only once or twice a month really. Maybe more if you watch the DVD's, but still, it's not nearly often enough. You know that thing we're having this weekend? "Uncanny X-Mas?" The name isn't important, what's important is that you're there Saturday night, not just for us, but for everyone that's gonna be there. We've got people flying in from England and Canada just to come celebrate the holidays with us, and you're right down the street! We're sorry, we didn't mean to raise our voice. We remember what happened last year when Dad got all drunk and was yelling at the turkey for being hard to carve. Maybe you heard some talk about people not being there? It's true, Frankie Kazarian and B-Boy told us that they can't make it. Something about having to go to their girlfriend's family's thing, but whatever, it's cool. And when Disco Machine and Puma were at Costco getting a piano for Aunt Susie, Disco threw his back out trying to lift the piano, and dropped it on Puma's leg, so they're not gonna be there either. That really sucks, so we talked to Paul, and he told us he got some surprises for Saturday. It's gonna be like, the biggest PWG thing ever. But first, look at what we've already announced, which should be pretty cool: PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. Jonny Storm PWG Tag Team Championship Match "Photogenic" Chris Bosh & Scott Lost © vs. Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) No Time Limit - Number 1 Contenders Match "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson vs. Samoa Joe Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen Pretty awesome, right? Well you better add a new pair of socks to your list for Grandmama, because when you see what we've got lined up, it's gonna put you on your back, your shoes will be blasted aside, your socks will be knocked off, shoot out the window, hurtle through the atmosphere and into space, where they will orbit the earth for a period of 18 months before burning up on re-entry. Ready? Are you totally stoked? Because added to "Uncanny X-Mas" is: "Classic" Colt Cabana vs. Spanky Austin Aries vs. Chris Hero Plus Excalibur, Tony Stradlin, Human Tornado, Top Gun Talwar, Ronin, and more! Pretty awesome, huh? We promise it'll be a lot of fun, so you should totally be there. Did you order any of our DVD's for the holidays? The place we get them from, they told us they'd be done by now, but they're not. We told them a lot of people are waiting on them, and they're just like "Cool your jets, turbo! They'll be done soon enough!" So they should be shipping to you next week, in time for the holidays and all. Well, not Hanukkah. Sorry. So we'll see you Saturday night then? We'll save you a seat and everything. A lot of work is going into this, and we want to just have one more big thing before the year is over with. You know, to say thanks to everybody. It'd be really cool if you could make it. Oh, and can you do us a favor? Wear that sexy little green or red number. You know the one. The one with our picture on it? Love, -PWG ------------------------------------------------------ Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Uncanny X-Mas" takes place the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 7:00PM. For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected] OH MY GOD. DAMN... here I was about to post my PWG preview and PWG just blows my mind was two of the most awesome sounding matches I've ever seen! HERO VS. ARIES will be god in wrestling match form... and Colt Vs. Spanky!!! I'm laughing my ass off just at the thought of that! I <3 PWG... best promotion ever. This card looks... well... the best time to get into roh, they have a sale
PsychoDriver replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Hate the attitude, often love the wrestling. That about sums it up for my stance on ROH. WHAT!!! how dare you hate ROH's clearly perfect attitude! You are just jealous because you know they are better than you and whatever bush league 3rd rate promotions you watch! Gabe is a genius-4-ever! DANGEROUS!!! CLASSIC! MOTYC! CHRIS HERO SUX! Umm... did I mention Gabe was a genius? Cuz he is! Actually, yeah I feel the same way. In fact I think I'd love ROH if they gave you an option to remove the commentary at least (which IMO, gets on your nerves in a major way. Well, at least it does mine, BTW please don't reply with reasons why it's good, because I don't care... just an opinion) -
Alot of big names on that show (especially the guy who sings that everyone is planning on getting tippy song) but that card doesn't interest me in the slightest. The Main Event most of all has huge potential to be terrible (thanks to SAT) But of course, it is always fun to see feds throwing away LOADS money for no reason! Hey bring in the Ultimate Warrior next!

IWA-MS 12/12 card and two 12/18 matches
PsychoDriver replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Interesting, hopefully Donovan Morgon will actually TRY this time (unlike his PISS POOR PWG match with CM Punk from August) B-Boy Vs. Rainman should be good though. -
Jesus Christ! RF Video doing a SABU shoot!
PsychoDriver replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
Wow poor Sabu must really need the money. I'm interested in hearing what he has to say, so I hope HighSpots does a shoot with him or a bootleg copy shows up soon. Because no way in hell I'm ever giving RF a dime (and I'd be saying that even if the "lol I'll pretend you said 18" thing never happened. Hate that bastard and his crappy company) -
That would be Excalibur's promo from "Pimpin' in High Places"

PWG Offers "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" 11/13
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Results: SBS Beat Los Rojo Locos and then Supa Badd/Top Gun came out and unmasked Los Rojos Locos... Human Tornado then made the save. Puma beat Tony Stradlin (improving his singles won/Loss record to 11-1) Havana Pitbulls Over Hook/Apollo (very good stuff. Team PWI are very underated) SUPER DRAGON over Frankie Kazarian to win the PWG Title. (excellent match. I'm guessing it was on so early so SD could catch his flight to CZW the next day) Christopher Daniels Over Jack Evans (crazy match. They clicked pretty well. "Please come back" chant for Evans who had a great weekend of matches in SoCal) El Generico Beat Kevin Steen (It was changed from a tag match because AXP "weren't there" Hell of a match. Just non-stop action. Maybe the show stealer. Steen hits the Package Piledriver.... then pulls him up.. but Generico is able to recover and steal the win after a brainbuster. Tons of sick spots... "PLease come back chants" for both) American Dragon over Scott Lost (another very good match. Maybe not AS good it could have been... but still alot fun) Overall, super solid show, with nothing at all bad on it. Pick it up when it's released. The following was announced for the Dec. 18th PWG show: Super Dragon Vs. Jonny Storm for the PWG title Samoa Joe Vs. American Dragon - NO TIME LIMIT (holy ****) -
PWG Offers "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" On November 13! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Harden Flat, California - Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) Commissioner Paul T. has a mission in life, and that mission is to share PWG with the most people possible. In order to do so, Paul T. is taking the bold step of making the next PWG show free of charge (not really) to all fans, near and far! The first step in doing so was to see if the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC would provide PWG the venue at no cost (they would not.) Next, Paul T. informed all of the crew and wrestlers that they would be doing the show for free (again, not really) for the enjoyment of the fans. The final step is to inform all of our fans across the world that they will be able to enjoy "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" on November 13th in Hollywood, CA! All kidding aside, Commissioner Paul T. has put together one of the biggest events yet, including the PWG debuts of El Generico, and "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen from IWS in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and Jack Evans, from less exotic Pacific Northwest America! Relatively unknown outside of Canada until a few months ago, El Generico & Kevin Steen are quickly impressing fans and Asian wrestling commissioners alike with their innovative offense and daredevilish hijinks, both in and out of the ring! Generico & Steen will have their work cut out for them though, since Paul T. has decided to put them up against one of Southern California's best tag teams, Aerial Express! The other PWG debut belongs to Jack Evans, who has been turning heads all over the world, as far as Wrestling Aid Project in Japan. Touted as "the next Blitzkrieg" by some, Evans will have to do a lot to prove himself worthy of that title, especially in Blitzkrieg's home of Southern California. Setting the bar even higher is Paul T's decision to pit Evans against the one and only, "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels! "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" takes place on November 13th in Hollywood, CA at 7:00PM, and will feature: PWG Championship Match Frankie Kazarian © vs. Super Dragon American Dragon vs. Scott Lost* *Due to injuries sustained by "Photogenic" Chris Bosh, the PWG Tag Team Championship will not be defended. Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. Jack Evans Joey Ryan vs. UK Kid Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) vs. Hook Bomberry & Apollo Kahn Plus Disco Machine, Puma, Excalibur, Tony Stradlin, Top Gun Talwar, Los Rojo Locos, and more!! Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" takes place the Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC on Saturday, November 13, 2004 at 7:00PM. The Hollywood-Los Feliz JCC is located at 1110 Bates Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90029. Tickets are only $15 each, and will be available at the door. Challenges have to be done with One player I think. That's probably the reason.... (they must have thought 2 player challenges would be too fun)

CZW Presents NIGHT OF INFAMY...
PsychoDriver replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
Ummm http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=62782 But yeah, this card looks super strong and CZW always pulls something big out before COD. SBS Vs. AXP and B-Boy Vs. Hero should be excellent. -
PWG Offers "Free Admission!! (Just Kidding)" 11/13
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Hi everyone, and welcome to another edition of PWG: Thoughts and Predictions: Now I’d bet $1.99 that no one else would knows this, but this actually marks a full year of these PWG “Thoughts and Predictions” write-ups. Wow, It seems it was like only 12 months ago really… Yes, I’m proud to say that this has grown from a short, unpopular, poorly written column to a slightly longer, unpopular, poorly written column. Gee, time sure does fly eh? And it all started here on TSM! (Thanks Barber! and your non stop shilling!) and if we have any masochists in the house, you can read the first one right here: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...=an+inch+longer So with that in mind, I thought it’d be fun to check up on my prediction record (covering previous booked matches from PWG’s “Inch Longer than Average” till “Use Your Illusion 4”) and it’s 65-28. Was it expert prognostication or just dumb luck? Your guess is as good as mine. But overall not bad really, my best effort was Tango and Cash Night One: 8-1 (but who predicted that time limit draw? Save Kenny Kingston) my worst was “Kee_ The _ee out of our _ool” at 1-6 (only got the insanely oblivious Pearce Vs. Quance right, And hey, I thought Charles Mercury was due!) So let that be a lession to all you out there in PWG Fantasy leagues… pay attention to my predictions! And be the envy of online dorks everywhere! In fact speaking of predictions, here’s my pick for this year’s NHL Stanley Cup. The winner will be… NO ONE!! Ha ha because they’re on strike… get it? No one! Genius I tells ya… Anyway on with the preview! (Quick Note: I was ah…abducted by illegal Aliens… yeah…and forced to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas against my will, add that to my recent good fortune wit' da bitches. And let's just say my mind was on things other than making Ricky Reyes/Ricky Ricardo comparisons, and I didn’t have as much time to spend on this preview, making this one shorter than average. Forgiveness please!) PWG Episode 20 “Free Admission” (Just Kidding) (soon to be called FA J/k on tapes lists everywhere) It’s the dawn of a new age in the misty mountain realm of the guerrilla. Previously at PWG’s “Use Your Illusion 4” one of it’s most fabled sagas met it’s waterloo as Darth Dragon was at last able to settle the score with his age-old adversary, Joey Skywalker, after defeating him in a 60 plus minute duel to the death. Now still reeling from the epically epic epicness of that epic match, PWG is set once again to be rocked and perhaps rolled to it’s very core, as without question, the two top players, Super Dragon and Frankie Kazarian will collide! With the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla championship and the balance of power in PWG on the line! Who will admerge from this war as the true ruler of PWG? Also: It’s International warfare as Canada’s best invade PWG, as El Generico and Kevin Steen face the hottest tag team on The West Coast, The Aerial Express! Scott Lost is out for some “First Family” retribution as he meets the colossal challenge of the man consider by many to be the world’s best, the American Dragon! Joey Ryan meets the challenge of The UK Kid! It’s the Civil War all over again! The North Vs. South. When SoCal’s Havana Pitbulls collide with the NoCal duo of Hook Bomberry and Apollo Cree… err Kahn! Plus the hottest high flyer in wrestling today, Jack Evans makes his PWG debut against Indy Megastar Christopher Daniels! Yes, this show is all that and a bag of chips (and not the Diarrhea-causing 'Olean' Chips either!) PLAY BALL! Match One: The Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) vs. Hook Bomberry and Apollo Kahn Past History: Ricky Reyes and Apollo Kahn previously squared off in a singles match at PWG- “The Musical” PWG Records: Ricky Reyes is 7-4 overall, Rocky Romero is 4-2 overall, 4-1 as a duo, Hook Bomberry is 1-5, Apollo Kahn is 2-4, they are 1-1 as a duo (with a win over Disco Machine/Mr. Excitement at the debut show and a loss to Hardkore Inc at BAM3K Night 2) My Thoughts: Thinking about it a little, both teams are very similar. Both are in that Hart Foundation mold, as on each team, you have an Anvil (Reyes, Kahn) and a Hitman (Romero, Bomberry) Where I am going with this? No clue… I thought it was neat at the time. Err anyway, as you may remember, Reyes and Kahn really tore it up at PWG’s “The Musical” so you know there’s chemistry there and of course Rocky Romero and Hook Bomberry are both amazing overall performers who I fully believe could produce a good match against a brick wall It seems like I say this for every match, but this could be potentially be a show stealer. . My Prediction: Havana Pitbulls, can’t really see them losing this one. Match Two Electri... nah too easy Joey Ryan vs. The UK Kid Last time: Joey Ryan: In what will go down as the greatest match up in PWG History, Ryan nearly had Super Dragon defeated, in the overtime period of their 60-minute iron match… before finally falling prey to a Psycho Driver on the floor. Now at “Free Admission (Just Kidding)” Joey Ryan will have to fight his way back into PWG contention by defeating The Kid from UK. UK Kid, Baby! : UK Kid reversed his recent bad luck in PWG, by scoring a hard fought victory over Tony Stradlin. Now he looks to continue his winning ways with a victory over one of PWG’s top players, Joey Ryan. Past History: Met in two singles matches in late 2002 for GSCW and AIWA PWG Records: Joey Ryan is 10-13 overall, 4-6 as a single, UK Kid is 1-2 so far in PWG. My Thoughts: Perfect match up, for both of them here. I think everyone knows the old wrestling stand by of the American babyface vs. The evil foreigner. Be it The Iron Sheik, LUGVIG BORGA (from America’s arch rival… Finland?) Yokozuna and I dunno… Iron Mike Shape? Umm Jim Powers was probably a commie too I think. Anyway, much like Reality TV it’s a really simple and proven formala (annoyingly so) but hey it works. And it has already worked between these two. I don’t know if anyone recalls the 2002 GSCW match up (available on Best of Joey Ryan Vol. 1) but that was a perfect example. The crowd was really into it, and it really brought the best out of both men. So expect more of the same here. My Prediction: Joey Ryan Match three: "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. Jack Evans PWG Records: Christopher Daniels is 3-2 in singles matches and 4-5 overall. Jack Evans will be making tuna noodle casserole and also his PWG debut at this show. Past History: None, to my knowledge. My Thoughts: Let’s start with Jack Evans, of course a very unique performer, that well, whose ring style…you either have to love or hate. I personally however think he’s an incredible spectacle, I mean countless wrestlers are capable of good “workrate” matches…. but how many suckas can bust out a corkscrew 630? (By my count only Jack Evans, King Kong Bundy and maybe Paul T. after a few beers) Not to mention his now legendary double moonsault off a cage in Ring of Honor Wrestling. He’s a sight to behold indeed… but don’t overlook his non “Flippy flip” ring skills either, his move selling ability is among the best I can remember in quite some time. For better Info on Jack Evans: Check out this nice article Rob Naylor wrote about him: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com/jackevans.html Better than anything I could cough up right now… His opposition, Christopher Daniels should need no introduction to anyone who may possibly ever be reading this, as he is arguably one of the best on this or possibly any other planet. He's worked everywhere and probably won everything there is to win in the world of Indy wrestling. So let’s skip it… we already know he’s great. As the match itself, it’s a very interesting one on paper. On one hand I think it could turn out to be an excellent match (not hard with the talent involved), On the other hand, I fear this could possibly be a huge clash of styles, on another hand (Yes, I have 3 hands. I was born that way L) you have to have ask yourself, do you ever get anything less than merely “good“ from Chris Daniels? And anything less than “WOW did you see that guy flip?” from Jack Evans? No, not at all… My Prediction: Christopher Daniels Match four: The Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Kevin Steen and El Generico Last time: the AXP ran into a little bump in the road to the PWG tag titles. Last month after they thought they’d won the belts from Lost/Bosh… they learned that they had in fact lost the match by way of disqualification via Slymm’s interference. Now in order to get back in position for a rematch, they will have to face the sizeable challenge of international superstars, Kevin Steen and El Generico. The comedy styling of Steen & Generico! : For those who may not be familiar with the IWS style. It’s best knowing going in that’s it’s not really for your intensely analytical “smark” fan. Really you could think of it as Jerry Bruckheimer popcorn wrestling- a bunch of extremely gifted athletes popping off one insane stunt after another before you can blink. It’s wrestling the way it was meant to be, fun, joyful type of entertainment. Usually with insanely enthusiastic crowds (most of the most heated I’ve ever seen from an Indy crowd) This time in PWG, we get to see perhaps their two best talents… which I’ll introduce you to know: Kevin Steen: “Mr. Wrestling” (no, not Tim Woods… he’s dead silly!) is considered by many to be top wrestling prospect in Canada. Trained by “The Mountie” Jacques Rougeau and Eric Mastrocola (who wasn’t a Mountie I don’t think) He’s been so impressive, that he’s already reportedly garnered looks from the WWE (recently had a try out with OVW) Also has been putting on some great matches with the best Canada has to offer, as well as with well known Indy Superstars such as Steve Corino, Roderick Strong and PWG regulars Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe in several promotions such as EWR, and has recently impressed in the US with appearances with CZW and JAPW. His style is a good combination of power and speed, and he possesses a deadly arsenal of impressive maneuvers, including his finisher “The package piledriver” A true star on the raise… don’t be surprised if you see major things from him in the future. El Generico – The “Generic luchadore” is quite the character. Who really gained in popularity due to his part in the hilariously hilarious series of skits with Beef Wellington.. He was a former IWS Champion for a few minutes (before losing it to his partner for this show), Winner of the 2004 EWR Elite 8 tourney, and has squared off with Indy “It boy” AJ Styles in EWR as well. Has a high flying style (I don’t think he would have been a bit out of place in say, Classic Revolution Pro) and likes to finish with the 450 and an insane turnbuckle brainbuster that has to be seen to be believed. Ole! (Thanks to El Generico’s favorite net smark, Jay Doring for assorted help with this info. I know all you diehard IWS fans just love that guy! And his infamous use of the word, YARDTARD! I was thinking of saying something offensive here myself and maybe getting an “F*** Newberry” chant at an IWS show… oh well maybe next time) PWG Records: Quicksilver is 7-8, and Sky is 6-7, 3-2 as a duo, Steen and Generico are of course making their debuts. My Thoughts: Once again, PWG brings the best to us! Last time we got the Chikara experience, this time around we get to experience the other new sensation sweeping indy wrestling. Yes, not since “Canadian Strongman” Dino Bravo burst on to the scene has a Quebecer made such an impact in such a short time. After show stealing appearances with CZW and JAPW, the IWS boys have become seemingly overnight sensations in the US. And PWG choose the perfect opponents for them. One of the best teams going right now, I still don’t think I’ve ever seen a bad AXP match so of course this one's going to be good. Can't wait to see Sky match up with Generico, and I’m already cringing at the thought of poor Quicksilver taking The Turnbuckle Brainbuster or one of Steen’s huge german sup-lays. I’ll go out on a limb and predict this one will be the sleeper match of the whole show (and on a card like this, that’s saying something) My Prediction: The AXP Match Five: Scott Lost Vs The American Dragon Last TiMe! : The PWG Tag Team Champions, Scott Lost and Chris Bosh (newly dubbed “Arrogance”) were given all they could handle by The Aerial Express. After a miscommunication with stable mate Babi Slymm. In which Slymm speared Bosh, leading to a DQ… saving Arrogance the titles but creating mammoth dissention among the First Family. Was Slymm feeling the effects of dreaded green monster Gomblor err jealousy? After being passed up as Lost’s new partner in favor of Bosh? Arrogance then layed out a challenge to Slymm and a partner of his choosing for a match, next month. However.. Due an injury suffered by Chris Bosh… that issue will have to wait for another day. This time, Lost will have to attend to some pressing First Family Business by squaring off with The American Dragon! The man who cost First Family leader, Frankie Kazarian a victory via his interference in his match with Samoa Joe at “The Next Show” PWG Records: Scott Lost is 12-7 overall, 2-1 as a single; American Dragon is 7-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 as a single. Past History? : They met in a tag contest in the semi finals of PWG’s “Tango and Cash” My Thoughts: For several years now, Scott Lost has been on the verge of nationwide superstardom. Just needing that little shove to send him over the edge and open up the eyes of those filthy non-believers. Well, wait no longer, as this is the match. I’m predicting this will finally rocket him to the next level. Because you can have no better opponent in the world right now, then American Dragon. Again as anyone reading this should know, Dragon’s track record of great matches is longer than… well it’s long. Also, consider this… American Dragon had some of his best matches to date against Paul London. And of course, Scott Lost is often favorably compared to London. So we could be the on the verge of something beyond description here. Honestly, the rest of this card is excellent… but in my opinion, this will be the match of the show. And then wrestling world… prepare to get LOST! (yeah I know that didn’t work) My Prediction: American Dragon wins it. Leading to something in the future with Kazarian, Samoa Joe and Super Dragon. Match six: PWG Championship Match Franke Kazarian vs. Super Dragon Backstory? : Through out recorded history, every promotion has their franchise player, their ace, their MVP, their Kurt Rambis, their Mazda MPV, Their alpha male if you will, that rules all around them. But much like Presidential candidate John Kerry argued the point, that there are indeed two Americas (Duh, ever hear of SOUTH America!) in PWG you could argue that there are in fact two PWGs! One run by Frankie Kazarian (PWG: Hollywood) and the other as ran by Super Dragon (PWG: Wolfpac) Since day stinking one, Both Super Dragon and Frankie Kazarian have been PWG’s marquee talent. With them regularly sharing The Main Event position (you could argue that point about SoCal itself as well) both seemingly existing in alternate PWG dimensions (aside from a meeting as part of a 6-man tag at “Pimpin’ In The High Places”) That is until, “The Next Show” when Frankie Kazarian had a title defense against Samoa Joe (was had unfinished business with Super Dragon) before the match could come to a positive conclusion… American and Super Dragon hit the ring and jumped Joe. Costing Frankie the victory and a chance to score a huge win over Joe. Clearly, something huge was now brewing between the 4 PWG super powers. And now on November 13th at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding)” it’s PWG’s version of crisis on infinite earths… PWG worlds will collide, as Frankie Kazarian meet the challenge of SUPER DRAGON! Who will come out of this one, the true ruler of PWG! Past History: They have met once before in a singles match in April 2002 in a promotion called “W2K2” (that was named SoCal match of the month) and at least twice in tag matches including Kazarian/B-Boy/Samoa Joe Vs. Super Dragon/The Messiah/Tech 9 in MPW, and Kazarian/Joey Ryan/CM Punk Vs. Super Dragon/Adam Pearce/Colt Cabana at PWG’s “Pimpin’ In High Places” PWG Records: Frankie Kazarian is 15-4-1 overall, 14-3-1 as a single; Super Dragon is 17-6 overall, 9-2 as a single My Thoughts: Darn, anyone who even half way follows PWG knows this one is huge, Kind of like of the PWG equalent of Hulk Hogan Vs. Ultimate Warrior from Wrestle mania 6. IMO, Dragon and Kazarian are PWG’s two top names. Plus the story is really tight as well, Samoa Joe wants the title, Super Dragon wants Samoa Joe. So what does Super Dragon do? He goes after the title to make Samoa Joe have to come to him. Really good stuff here... As for the match itself, I could go on and on about their accomplishments… but I’ll give you the cliff notes version, Super Dragon rules, Frankie Kazarian rules (Yes, he does TNA fans) This match will rule, Australian rules football, The Ramones Rule Ok? Ah…GO Packers! (can you tell I’m half asleep while writing this? I sure can’t ) My Prediction: Bold prediction: Super Dragon claims the title. Plus! The most famous “dancing machine” since Gong Show legend, 'Gene, Gene’ the Dancing Machine! Disco Machine! The red hot, Puma! (10-1 in singles action! Wow I can’t believe it’s not butter) Road Warrior Hawk’s worst nightmare, Excalibur! He’s dead scared of him! Former NWA:Wildside star, Tony "Don't call me Todd" Stradlin! (Coming off a TNA TV appearance, where he lost… to the mighty… Johnny B. Badd? As hard as it may sound… don’t hold that against him… I’m sure plenty of people have lost to Joh…. NAH) Everyone’s favorite recreational drug abuser who's not in a popular musical group: Top Gun Talwar! Mexico’s hottest duo since Tequila and vomit bags, Los Rojo Locos, And EVEN more!! Plus get this; I’ve heard vague rumors that DJ AC will indeed be in DA HOUSE! (if it's in the Weekly World News it's gotta be true!) I’d say on paper, this has got to be one of the strongest PWG cards to date. So If at all possible, attend this freaking show! Don’t think of it as JUST attending a wrestling show at a Jewish Community Center near a Pioneer Chicken (!) in Hollywood… think of it as an investment in the very future of awesomeness! For official show information check out http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/news/ And heck if your in town you may as check out the free Pro Wrestling War show at PWG’s old venue The Elks Lodge (with those awesome seats) with Super Dragon Vs.
