It's not an actual Iron Man match, it's just for the Iron Man Title.

Rodney Dangerfield has been in a coma for weeks.
PsychoDriver replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
That's truly sad. I've always loved Rodney's work.... and really hope he pulls through. -
Asshole huh? Eh whatever, as long as they are bringing him back. Looks like a great tourney, I'd imagine a possible Super Dragon Vs. Homicide match would be something to watch.
-
Super Dragon back in IWA:MS? That's really good to hear... because normally promotions don't seem to ever bring him back a second time for whatever moronic reasons. Anyway, this is looking to be yet another great series of shows from IWA:MS.
-
Probably the 1990 event. No It's not the greatest show workrate wise and yes it did feature the worst payoff to a surprise ever. But I still find it highly enjoyable overall (The Ultimate survivor thing was a great idea) and I would call it my favorite SSeries for nostalgic purposes alone.

I really hope this is true. But I like many many others have been hearing this same thing for over 10 years now. How many freaking "rumored" release dates does this album have? I can remember hearing: Early 95, Summer 96, Fall 97, Middle of 99, Summer 2001, Fall 2002, Nov. 2004, and now Early 2005. Somehow the only way I really think we will ever see this album is if Axl dies and they release it posthumous (like they did with all that Jimi Hendrix material)
-
I think they are all very good, but IMO Pulp Fiction is his overall best work to date. It just has.... "It"

Notice how no one ever mentions those 3PW wet t-shirt contests ETC? But CZW does something once (that the WWF even did) and they get crap for it. Not fair says I. He only used that one at the JCW J-Cup. He uses alot of different themes (especially outside the West Coast) but normally it's either "Earth People" by Dr. Octagon, "Rockets on the Battlefield" by Kool Keith or "Triumph" by Wu Tang Clan.

I agree with this. It's all just a matter of opinion here. No cookie? Thanks alot dude I just baked up a bunch. Guess I'll cross you off my "give cookie to" list. To anyone else reading this: Barber's cookie is now up for grabs... if anyone wants it, please e-mail me and you will recieve the cookie of your choice within 6 to 10 working days (offer not valid outside the continental US) I think it's all a matter of personal perception really. Now, I'm no "wrestling expert". I don't claim to be one and believe me I don't want to be one (frankly I think alot of them are very sad people) so I won't argue balls and strikes with you here. I'll just state that I personally hold that match in very high regard and consider it maybe the best I've seen. Maybe it was the atomosphere or something like that.. but as a fan I can say that I enjoy that match more than Supreme/Messiah (which was also very good... it don't didn't have the same effect on me the EPIC match had) It's hard to express art appreciation... so I'll leave it at that. I hope that better explains my position... now you sure you don't want that cookie? Sincerely, Paul "Cookie Monster" Newberry Contributing writer: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com

Good interview, Although I think it could have used a PWG mention or two. Though I said that exact same thing about the ceasar salad I ate last night. Sincerely, Paul "Mayfield" Newberry Contributing writer: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com

Oh man why must everyone always up stage my interviews! First Barbara Walters, Then Martin Bashir, then that dude with the eyebrows, and now someone else! What is someone else gonna write long boring PWG previews now too? May as well just blow my stinking head off. What use is life anymore? Sure, I have my stunning good looks, peerless wit, amazing intellect, a natural talent for salsa dancing, and a flock of bitches that would make even Wilt Chamberlain beg for mercy...but is that really enough to make it in today's world? I tried asking my Magic 8-Ball and all it said was "Try again later" It appears that I have met my waterloo... To sum this up, Hey I really like Mondo Vs. Messiah alot and feel it's praise is warranted. Fun Fact: Mondo didn't even know it was a death match going up until a few hours before hand, he thought it was just a ladder match. So most of those spots were done with very little planning. Pretty Impressive if you ask me. I know all this because I recently conducted an exclusive 7 and a half part interview with Nick Mondo's Girlfriend Rain's mom's friend from the hair salon who kinda looks like Hillary Clinton if you swint. She knows ALL the dirt. So keep an eye out for that interview onhttp://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com It's the website for Indy wrestling info and it also doubles as a party zone for Russian Hookers (and I do mean PARTY ZONE). You'll also find it on the forthcoming www.MondosGirlfriendsMomsFriendFromTheSalon.org website. Here's a preview: Coming soon: The Story of Mondo's girlfriend's mom's friend from the hair salon who kinda looks like Hillary Clinton if you swint two years ago - on July 31, 2002 - Mondo's girlfriend's mom's friend from the hair salon who kinda looks like Hilary Clinton if you swint embarked on a journey that would forever alter the Southern California pro wrestling landscape. This is the never-before-told story of Mondo's girlfriend's mom's friend from the hair salon who kinda looks like Hillary Clinton if you swint, straight from those who lived it... So please check back with http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com/ for that and also keep a look out for my monthly PWG Previews and as well as a series of exclusive interviews and tapes reviews I will be doing in the near future. Yes you could say: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com is truly hotter than HELL (and from published reports... Hell is supposed to be pretty darned hot) So in closing... I'd like to say..... GO PACKERS. Sincerely, Paul W. Newberry Contributing writer: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com

I'd disagree. I was actually at XPW's Go Funk Yourself Live (Free tickets baby) and that was indeed a great deathmatch. But I really think Mondo-Messiah was better. It's one of my favorite matches actually. IMO It's was everything a deathmatch should be. I think it has still yet to be topped. Maybe it's something about the match's reviewer you dislike maybe?. I mean your custom title kinda kills your credibility there buddy. That's assuming you had any in the first place (Mike "Mayfield" Mayhem says Hi) Just who is obsessed with who now? Sincerely, Paul "Butterbean" Newberry Contributing writer: http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com

That's a very bold statement and it would also imply that the likes of Chris Hero, Jerry Lynn, Jonny Storm, Super Dragon, Vic Grimes, Raven, Bobby Quance, The AXP, Christopher Daniels, Terry Funk, Juvi, Psycho, Mexico's Most Wanted, Ron Killings and many others didn't have talent. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Even if XPW did beg to be hated most of the time....
-
Hardly as good as Grimes (the first choice) Angel or Johnny Webb may have been. But Mongol is OK... and the match is still going to be incredibly fun. And yes AWS is very underrated and overlooked. They put on some of the most diverse shows you'll find anywhere in US today (Lucha, Hardcore, US style, comedy ETC). More people should really check them out...
-
Also don't forget their July 24th AWS tag match Messiah/Flash Vs. Supreme/Kaos and (cheap plug) their upcoming AWS 6-man match... Messiah/Flash/Wifebeater Vs. Supreme/Kaos/Mongol No DQ match on the 25th! It's the first ever meeting between Supreme and Wifebeater too.

excellent list. Interesting stuff there....

Only 4 of those ROH matches really interest me so I'd go to the CZW show. It looks more fun... You have the West Coast 4-way (SUPER DRAGON!~) The IWS 4-way, Chris Hero Vs. Shelley and B-Boy Vs. Kingston, Messiah Vs. Pain, The Chikara tag, That's 6 potentially great matches that you'd never see in ROH. Plus it's a PPV taping... so expect them to pull out all the stops. Or heck you could try to make The CZW day show and then the ROH Night show. If that'd be possible....

Some thoughts (BTW my star ratings like most star ratings are a joke.. not a funny joke but still a joke): - Nice to Hardkore Kidd back. Not sure if this was just a one night thing or if he is actually back for good. - Slymm/Bradley Vs. Tornado/Badd: was a fun opener. Everyone played their parts very well. Though Bradley's knee injury slowed it down toward the end, they recovered nicely I thought. Slymm/BB win after Bradley hits a lariat on Tornado (I think it was) *** 1/2 - Bosh Vs. Hook Vs. Quicksilver: Started off slow but got really good. Liked that they played off Hook's injury and worked over his leg. One thing I didn't like was Bosh pulling his pants down... there were kids in the crowd that didn't need to see that young man's ass. Bosh wins via a leg submission on Hook. *** (though that's minus ******* 1/2 for Mr. Bosh's lack of pants and minus ** 3/4 for the fact that Hook didn't sell the leg for a split second at exactly 04:54:47 into the match. That was totally THE SHITS learn to sell man!) - SBS Vs. Top Gun/Mercury: A solid match with some great comedy thrown in. Like the slow motion bits and Excalibur getting Disco to reposition Mercury (I think) Top Gun/Mercury finally get a big win after Mercury rolls Excalibur up. After the match Disco says that Top Gun/Mercury have come into there own and don't need him anymore. And gets the SBS "band" back together. Interesting, as it looked like Disco was turning on Excalibur as the match went on. ***** - American Dragon Vs. UK Kid: Good match. It seemed that the fact that UK Kid was from England really got the crowd going. Very effective heel... I hope he returns to PWG one day. Not the best AD match ever... but fun never the less. American Dragon wins after an Airplane spin IIRC ***** 1/2 - B-Boy/Daniels/Quance Vs. Havana Pitbulls/PUMA: Very very good match. Too many memorable moments to mention. Havana Pitbulls win after their Backbreaker/flying knee drop combo on B-Boy. My 2nd favorite match of the night. ************************************ (That's plus ******* 1/2 for Gangsta Bobby, but minus **** for no Homicide but plus **** 1/2 for Daniels so it evens out) - It's upsetting to hear about Homicide's accident. Daniels was a great replacement though (although seeing his shirts and stuff at the merch booth before hand sorta gave the surprise away....) - SD Vs. Hero: My Match of the night. I thought they worked very well together. They didn't need to empty their vast arsenal of moves on each other, they just worked a smart match. It all came off very well... Great moment where Hero dives through the ropes to the floor and hits a somersault senton on a grounded SD. I couldn't totally see it hit from my angle but from what I saw, it was pretty incredible. SD wins a very even match after a Top turnbuckle Double Stomp to the head. I really hope they book a rematch down the road. ************************************************* 1/4 - I really hope PWG brings Chris Hero back soon. I noticed the cheers were somewhat light when he entered but were huge when he exited. I think he won alot of people over with his performance here. More Hero please... - Kazarian Vs. Samoa Joe was another real good match. Sadly I don't remember many details from this one, other than that I remembered liking it. Finish came after Super Dragon and then American Dragon rushed the ring and attacked Joe causing the DQ. ********** 9.5/10 (that's minus 0.5/10 * for the DQ) - I really like The Samoa Joe vs. The Dragons angle. I think a future Double Dragons Vs. Joe/Frankie match or AD/SD/Daniels Vs. Joe/Pitbulls, Joe Vs. AD Vs. SD or something like that would be very good. The sky is the limit with this feud. - Joey Ryan Vs. Scott Lost, Ladder Match: Good performance from both... just a shame that the crowd seemed dead here, still it was a great choice for the main event. Some brutal ladder shots in this one. It's hard to give an accurate distribution of just how sick the sounds that ladder made were. Like when Ryan slammed the ladder down on to Lost... that sound was just disgusting. Other notable spots: Lost diamond cutting Ryan off the ladder, Lost hitting an elbow off the ladder, And Joey botching the Duff Drop off the ladder but the "botched" move actually looked alot sicker than the duff drop would have. The blood was anice touch too (The 1st Guerrilla Warfare match could have used that too) The finish came when Ryan grabbed the belts and then "The First Family" (no not George, Laura and The Twins but rather Frankie, Slymm and Bradley) ran out and attacked Ryan and gave Scott Lost the belts. The ref then woke up, saw Scott with the titles and awarded him the match. ******************* and an extra *********** for Lost joining Frankie and Co. - Great move putting Lost in the First Family stable. As the First Family now control all the gold in PWG. And it should be fun watching Joey try to get some payback... -Overall, it was another outstanding show... top to bottom. Pick it up when it's released.... - Picked up the new dvds. Really great stuff. Finally the return of the PWG block of promos! I really missed those things. They sorta remind of the those fantastic ECW pulp fiction promos from the mid-90s. Loved the "Low-Ki" cameo on Rocktoberfest. - Ok I'm done... now you see why I like to write previews rather than reviews. Just remember: PWG returns Oct. 9th with AJ Styles, Chris Daniels, Samoa Joe, SBS, Joey Ryan, PUMA, Bosh, The AXP, Top Gun, Mercury, Lost picks his new partner and the last PWG appearance of Bobby Quance and More. So don't miss that one...

The Story of XTREME PRO WRESTLING
PsychoDriver replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in General Wrestling
I never understood why XPW had a problem with this. It was IMO XPW's best match up to that point. I know it made a huge impression on me after I saw it on TV. I even went to XPW's next show "Rapture" JUST to see Super Dragon and Co. in action and was super pissed when they weren't there.... Big mistake on XPW's part. I guess matches like Scott Snot Vs. Shooting Star was the kind of opener they wanted. Never mind stuff that actually stood out like the innovative & entertaining crap that The RevPro boys did. Really it was this type of crap that made me hate XPW.... Ok, rant over.... time to get my ass to Mars... er PWG -

Hope you cover the Onita saga. I've always wondered what really happened there... they built it for seemingly months... then nothing. Same with the Supreme Vs. Kaos angle that went nowhere...
