    H2Wrestling

Sadly it looks like MLW 37.0 is dead (shocking indeed ) from PWInsider: "H2WRESTLING CANCELS ALL EVENTS AFTER COURT BAUER LEAVES PROJECT DUE TO ISSUES WITH OVERSEAS INVESTORS by Mike Johnson @ 11:23:00 PM on 7/23/2004 With its debut show just a week away, H2Wrestling has for all intents and purposes shut down operations as Executive Producer Court Bauer resigned from the project this evening after issues arose with his overseas investors, WGO Properties. Fans who purchased tickets for H2's 7/31 event will receive refunds via Paypal.com this weekend. Bauer issued the following statement to PWInsider.com in regard to the situation: Dear fans, After careful thought and consideration as of Friday July 23, 2004 I tendered my resignation from the H2 Pro-Wrestling project. Our investors have decided due to my resignation and other factors to not proceed with the project effective immediately. As such, all H2 events are now cancelled as the venture has come to an end. All those who paid for tickets will be refunded immediately. My heartfelt and sincere apologies goes out to the dedicated H2 crew and fans for this difficult announcement. See you at the matches. Sincerely, Court Bauer The problems with WGO actually had nothing to do with H2Wrestling itself, but Bauer's former promotion Major League Wrestling. In recent weeks, WGO (which had purchased the assets of the company after MLW shut down in February 2004), had decided to revive MLW in order to produce new footage to be syndicated in the Asian markets. WGO had originally approached Bauer about heading MLW again several weeks back, but Bauer declined, citing a lack of time and interest due to his H2 responsibilities and outside commitments. Bauer instead suggested a number of names to take charge of the MLW project including Terry Funk, Steve Corino, Afa, and Stephen DeAngelis but all were rejected by WGO. During a conference call this evening, the investors again informed Bauer that they wanted him to head up MLW and that they wanted to him to produce a live show by the end of August. When Bauer declined, he was informed that he would have to work on both the H2 and MLW projects, or WGO wasn't interested in funding H2Wrestling. Bauer opted out of both projects. H2's debut had been scheduled for 7/31 in Braintree, MA. Their initial debut show last month had been cancelled after issues with the scheduled venue in Somerville, MA. Over the last week, the promotion had found themselves head to head with Ring of Honor over both promotions scheduling shows on 8/28 in Braintree, which H2 attempted to difuse earlier today by announcing an afternoon belltime. The promotion had also announced that Teddy Hart, originally touted as one of H2's Executive Producers, had been relegated to talent only after going into business for himself on an Internet radio show and making baseless claims about the event. Bauer noted tonight that he has no additional plans to get involved in the promotional end of the business again. He intends to focus on a screenplay he has written and is in the process of trying to get produced" I just feel bad for all the wrestlers and fans suckered in by this thing...
  9. Didn't I post this? man I'm starting to feel like the Rodney Dangerfield of these boards... (Meaning I get no respect... not that I'm pushing 90 like good ole' Rodney is) Eh who cares... Anyway, very good card... everything looks outstanding (aside from the lack of Scott Lost) So far my pick for sleeper match of the card is JOEY RYAN Vs. CHRIS BOSH. Seriously this one has a crap load of pontential. If I get around to it I'll do another preview type thing for this show sometime before the show. I know people lose sleep waiting for those "Thoughts and Predictions" deals....

Indy Wrestlers you do like...but why?

-Ruckus: Not the best wrestler in the world mind you.... but fun to watch. -Justin Credible: He's not as bad as alot of people like to make him out to be. I quite like him actually. - Another vote for Jimmy Rave. -Frankie Kazarian: Very solid performer that gets put down by internet fans fairly often. He could hold his own against anybody... -The ROH Board's favorite's Super Dragon/B-Boy/Chris Hero: Not underrated by many but routinely shit on by that god awful ROH board. Three of the best indy workers around peroid. I'll edit some more in later.

    Help Save A Wrestling Promotion

Eh, maybe so... but at least it feels like you are doing someone to help out even if you really aren't. I mean a small bit of hope is better than no hope at all. And hey petitions do work sometime though. I remember signing a "Bring back Alf" petition... and now look who's back! ALF bitch! ALF! Hopefully someone starts a bring back "Small Wonder" petition soon.

Indy wrestlers you just don't like

Steve Madison (Actually I don't hate his ring work, It's just as a Super Dragon mark I'm required to dislike his Chris Candido looking ass) It's the people he's been working lately and well the terrible way CZW is booking him. He's actually a very capable performer when given the chance (See his work in SoCal's PCW)

    Help Save A Wrestling Promotion

I'll sign... SoCal wouldn't be the same without RevPro and all it's done.

Indy matches that have never happened

Has SD ever faced Ki or AJ Styles? He faced AJ in a 4-way in IWA:MS TPI 2002. Not sure if that would count...
  19. PsychoDriver

Indy matches that have never happened

American Dragon Vs. Chris Hero (Apparently it happened overseas but never in the US. The Indy match I most want to see) Super Dragon Vs. Teddy Hart Super Dragon Vs. Samoa Joe Super Dragon Vs. Chris Hero Super Dragon Vs. Homicide Super Dragon Vs. Jay Briscoe Scott Lost Vs. Bobby Quance Scott Lost Vs. AJ Styles Joey Ryan Vs. Alex Shelley Messiah Vs. Raven Backseat Boyz Vs. Havana Pitbulls B-Boy Vs. Alex Shelley
  20. Good lord what a freaking show! Best PWG show ever... by far (Heck maybe even the best SoCal show ever) Some thoughts: - Opener was alot of fun. I had no clue who those Locos Rojos guys were but at least PWG kept up the tradition of having new talent debut every show. - Puma Vs. Bradley was stiff as hell. Puma looked like his old self again in PWG. In the end Reyes attacks Bradley's wounded arm on the apron setting in up for a PUMA submission hold which Bradley tapped out too. I'm liking this angle with PUMA, Joe and Reyes. - AJ Vs. Romero: I'm not one to hand out star ratings but this match deserves plenty of those things. freaking awesome stuff (very stiff as well) - Excalibur Vs. Cabana Vs. Slymm 1# Contendership match: I'm sorry to say I've forgotton alot about this match, but I do remember it being pretty fun. Excalibur and Cabana are always a blast in there... - Joey Vs. Scott: I loved this one! I thought it was great how they kept countering each other's moves and then performing each others moves. Great match and one of the favorites of the night. All Hail HEEL Scott Lost... - Punk Vs. SD: Another great match. Seeing CM Punk try to out asshole the king of the assholes was fantastic. Punk giving SD the curb stomp 4 or so times was incredible, and it lead to SD's comeback in which he fired back with a few curb stomps of his own. Also I enjoyed the time limit draw tease only to have SD counter the shining wizard with the Psycho Driver 2 at the 28 minute mark I think. Hell of the match and very stiff if I may say so... - AD/Daniels Vs. Samoa Joe/Reyes: More or less what you'd expect from these guys. A very good match... At the end Puma joined in the beating of AD/Daniels but then Romero run down and sided with Joe/Reyes/Puma, then Brad Bradley ran down and cleared the ring. Great angle... I hope this leads to Havana Pitbulls/PUMA/Joe Vs. AD/Daniels/Quance/Bradley in the future. - Frankie Kazarian Vs. Adam Pearce: I'm starting to sound like a broken record... but this was a hell of match. The opening brawl outside the building was different. Great drama thoughout with all the blood and near falls... I was really shocked to see Frankie win as everyone was predicting Pearce. The Frankie heel turn afterward was pretty unexpected and should lead to some good matches. And you gotta love Pearce's parting words "Fuck You All" I'll sure miss him in PWG... Heck screw the strip just bring Pearce back anyway... no one would care!!! Overall, Don't pass go, don't collect $200 JUST BUY THIS FREAKING DVD WHEN IT COMES OUT! My favorite show of the entire year so far. Don't forget PWG returns to LA on August 14th with Josh Prohibition (according to his website) set to appear and Colt Cabana Vs. Frankie Kazarian (according to Colt's website) Don't miss that one...

    A few PWG questions

    1. Kazarian Vs. Pearce was a fun old school type brawl with some comedy thrown in. X-Foundation Vs. B-Boy/Homicide was good though it could have been alot better than it was (I don't think Homicide was up to his usual par here) 2. I liked this match alot, if you were up on the history involved it was very good. But stand alone it's a still a pretty engaging survivor series type match. 3. It was different than their usual stuff. I'd have to see it again before I can really rate it but from what I remember It had alot of cool spots with Tables, Ladders and Chairs. While it wasn't as memorable as the first Guerrilla Warfare match it was good for what it was. 4. From what I've heard they will be restocking once they are caught up on the new shows (which could take awhile since they are now 4 shows behind, 5 if they don't release anything this saturday) But they did say "Watch for a major anouncement regarding Pro Wrestling Guerrilla DVD's in the next few weeks!" but that was already well over a month ago so who knows what that could mean.

Matches Announced for 7/23 and 7/31 IWA Events

Great looking cards... AD in IWA:MS will be amazing. I just hope this leads to Hero Vs. American Dragon in the near future. Someone somewhere needs to book that match...
  23. First off thanks for all the feedback on the write up... it is much appreciated. This is just Apples and Oranges.... but I do think PWG's "Reason for the Season" will top BOTB4. But certaintly not because BOTB4's lineup is poor, in fact it's probably the best BOTB card to date. It's just that PWG's card has so much more depth and substance to it. With BOTB you have: - The usual crapload of good juniorheavy weight matches (With B-Boy, Shelley, Quance, Sonjay and the crew you should get some amazing stuff here) - Probably something really awesome between Homicide-Acid-Hart - Also the usual confusing and often pointless 3-way openers. - 2 Xtreme Strong Style matches tourney matches. Gage Vs. Maff will be good and I'm sure Hero will keep his match from being bad. But like a box of chocolates... with CZW's sometime flawed booking logic you never know what you are going to get. While with PWG's card you have the same amount of great talent but only with alot of diversity in styles and some good storylines: - A Huge old school style cage match fued blowoff with Adam Pearce Vs. Frankie Kazarian. Really if they canceled every other match I'd still go for this one. - What should be a very fun 8-man opener which should have some great comedy and high flying mixed in. - What should be a strong style indy dream match between SD and CM Punk. - A hell of a tag grudge match that doesn't need an explaination with AD/Daniels Vs. Samoa Joe/Reyes - A match that could be beyond words in AJ Styles Vs. Rocky Romero (I've been watching alot of AJ Styles/Rocky Romero matches lately and I have come to the conclusion that there is no way this won't be a MOTYC. Their styles should mix insanely well.) - What could be the sleeper PWG match of the year, Joey Ryan Vs. Scott Lost. In what should be an intensly heated juniorheavyweight style match. Plus you'll see Scott Lost finally come into his own as a singles performer. Plus all the different styles of the wrestlers unannounced in matches: Great comedy and wrestling from two of best around in Colt Cabana and Excalibur, Some stiff goodness from Brad Bradley, Insane spots with M-Dogg-20, Inoki-Dojo-Awesomeness (Yes Inoki-Dojo-Awesomeness is a word now, look it up) with PUMA, and the man who keeps it gangsta... Babi Slymm! Plus more... I'll stop now before I end up doing another overly long preview. So in closing, both will be awesome shows but I think PWG will top BOTB overall.
  24. Word up yo! Since this HUGE show is THIS SATURDAY!!!! I thought I'd once again do "Thoughts and Predictions" on this show! only this time it's a supersized edition with a few match backstories and other such nonsense added!!! Enjoy... Now on with the show that should be PWG's wrestlemania/super bowl/world series/stanley cup and 4 pay-less supersales all rolled into one! Disco Machine, Chris Bosh, Charles Mercury, & Top Gun Talwar vs. The AXP (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) & ??? & ??? Backstory!: This all started back at "Pimpin' In High Places" when the AXP first joined forces with Chris Bosh to unite against PWG and it's owners. In the next few months they solidified the group with the additions of Charles Mercury and shockingly enough PWG 1/6 owner Top Gun Talwar (who was fed up with the other owners not booking him on shows) This all lead to "88 Miles Per Hour" and the 10-man Guerrilla Games elimination match. In which they were defeated but not before Scorpio Sky made an huge impact by taking out Super Dragon with a championship belt. This lead to Scorpio Sky Vs. SD in the 2nd ever "Guerrilla warfare" match on March 27 where after a brutal match up, Scorpio Sky was defeated by Super Dragon.. but in the process gained respect for SD. Sky's new found respect for SD didn't sit well at all with the other members of the group so after a group altercation (which involved Bosh attacking Sky) at "The Musical" the AXP decided to leave the group. This left the remaining members directionless... that is untill Disco Machine a man they were once bitter rivals with decided to offer to guide them to greatness in PWG. Now with a new leader the newly dubbed "Sexual Aggression" stable of Disco, Bosh, Mercury and Talwar challenged ANY 8-man team to a match 7/10! It didn't take long for the challenge to be accepted by their former stable mates the AXP! It all goes down 7/10 will Sexual Aggression overcome their former allies? or will The AXP get their revenge? Thoughts: This one should be yet another in a long line of super fun PWG openers. Expect some great fast paced action with some hilarious comedy thrown into this as well. Like the previous openers... this one could be the sleeper match of the whole show. As for the AXP's mystery partners, I'd guess maybe M-Dogg 20, Human Tornado, Jardi Frantz, Los Luchas or maybe even Disco's SBS partner Excalibur. Prediction: Sexual Aggression The X-Foundation EXPLODE! • Joey Ryan vs. Scott Lost Some MAD Pimpin' for Scott Lost: If you want to talk about "Playas" who need "mad props" Submitted for your a approval is a one Mr. Scott Lost. IMO the one man in SoCal who has been the most overlooked in past. However now with his recent heel turn on Joey Ryan, I can see that all changing. In the past Lost has shown how good he can be in ring as a single (see his show stealing WPW Best of the West outing or his matches with Lil Cholo, B-Boy, Super Dragon ETC) he has never had the chance to really expand as a character or really any character motiovation at all... untill now. Combine his potentially great new heel character, his already immense ring skills and a great babyface like Joey Ryan to play off of, the sky is truly the limit for Scott Lost. Backstory!: The long time tag partners and current PWG Tag title holders have been having alot of dissention in the past months and finally had their falling out at the last show. Which lead to this grudge match. Thoughts: I'm really looking forward to this one. Battles of long time tag partners are almost always awesome, they always seem to just know each other so well in there. As for this one, while these 2 have faced each other in other promotions in the past, it's never meant nearly this much before. I have a feeling both men will go all out here and produce a hell of a match here. But no matter what the outcome this will be just the beginning of what should be a career defining fued (and the just the start of many many big things for both in the future) Prediction: Scott Lost • CM Punk vs. Super Dragon Backstory!: The West Coast's franchise player Vs. The East Coast's darling. CM Punk and Super Dragon meet for the first time in a 1 on 1 match. Thoughts: Just wow! A long awaited Indy dream match to say the very least. The fact that this isn't the main event just shows how amazing this line up is. What to expect in the match? Well if their few in ring exchanges in the "Pimpin'" 6-man were any indication we should be in for an excellent bout here. I'm anticipating pure brutality and lots of it. Another thing to watch for is the "curb stomp" there was some debate awhile back about CM Punk using the "curb stomp" in ROH. So I wouldn't be surprised to see that play into the match somehow. This will be one to watch for certain. Prediction: Super Dragon • Christopher Daniels & American Dragon vs. Ricky Reyes & Samoa Joe Backstory!:On 3/27 Samoa Joe teamed with Dragon in order to get revenge against the Ballards Brothers. BUT after Samoa Joe cost his team the match after being DQed after refusing to break a hold on a 5 count. American Dragon snapped and attacked Joe. This led up to an truly epic 30 minute time limit draw between the two at "PWG: The Musical" (called by many the greatest match in PWG history) after the match just when it appeared that the match would be given 5 more minutes, American Dragon was jumped out of nowhere by Ricky Reyes! Furious with this, American Dragon vowed revenge on Reyes/Samoa Joe the next time he appeared in PWG. On 7/10 American Dragon is back! and in order to get his revenge he's enlisted the services of his former IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship partner Curry Man's alter ego Christopher Daniels (another man with a LONG history with Samoa Joe) to help even up the odds! Thoughts: Oh my... wherever to begin. This is a real tag team dream match if their ever was one. We all know what Samoa Joe and Dragon can do in there together, from their 4 brutal singles matches and several great tag team meetings. They always seem to produce greatness when pared against each other. Now take the proven Joe Vs. AD formula and throw in a genious portion of Indy legend Christopher Daniels and a large helping of Ricky Reyes into the mix and what do you get? A recipe for a tag team classic. Prediction: Samoa Joe and Ricky Reyes • "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Rocky Romero Thoughts: This one could very well steal the entire show (and on this card that's saying something!) While still better known for his work in the Havana Pitbulls. Rocky Romero has really broken out this year as a singles wrestler. So far this year he's already had several highly acclaimed singles matches against the likes of American Dragon, Chris Daniels, NJPW's HEAT and had a respectable showing in this years NJPW Super J CUP. This time around Rocky has one of his biggest tests to date against arguably the biggest Indy superstar around, AJ Styles! Now AJ should need no introduction to the indy faithful, he could probably have a good match with anything that moves (even Jeff Hardy!) Put them both together and what does it spell? Hmm well alphabetically it spells: AjStylesrockyromero but in ring it spells potential match of the year. Prediction: AJ Styles • PWG Championship Steel Cage Match – Loser Leaves PWG "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce © vs. "The Future" Frankie Kazarian Extra Long Backstory (trust me the match doesn't mean half as much without it): While you could say the Frankie Kazarian Vs. Adam Pearce issue has been building ever since Pearce's first ever SoCal match in which he faced Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels in a 3-way dance for the MPW title in 2001, or you could go back to the match the two had in EPIC in Sept. 2002. However as far as PWG goes, this match has been building ever since the BAM3K title tourney in August 2003. After Pearce had unjustly lost to Joey Ryan. He set out on a quest to capture the PWG title which just happened to be held by Frankie Kazarian. In his first stop on the road the gold he avenged his loss to Joey Ryan to win the 1# contendership in October 03, then he was screwed out of his title shot by Paul T. because of Super Dragon's outside interfearance. So Adam Pearce took matters into his own hands and jumped Frankie Kazarian after a match with American Dragon at an "Inch Longer Than Avarage" which then led a 6-man war at "Pimpin' In High Places" between AP/Cabana/SD Vs. Kazarian/Joey Ryan and CM Punk where Adam Pearce pinned and injuried Frankie after a piledriver on the PWG title belt. Afterward Adam Pearce layed down the challenge for a title match at "Tango and Cash Night 1" In that match Frankie Kazarian proved himself to truly be the coolest man on earth by being the first wrestler in history to ever wrestle to a 20 minute time limit draw in only 16'19 (now that's cool!) but a time limit draw wouldn't be good enough for Pearce who rejected Frankie's post-match offer of a handshake with a slap right to the face. The next night after Frankie again defended the PWG belt in a 4-way dance against M-Dogg, Babi Slymm and Jonny Storm. Adam Pearce ran out after the match and brutalized Frankie as if he were a cop arresting Michael Jackson and then piledrove Frankie off the apron through a table! It was very clear that normal match couldn't contain this intense rivalary. So the stage was set for "Taste The Radness" Adam Pearce Vs. Frankie Kazarian in a Chicago Street Fight for the PWG Title. After a wild back and forth brawl that went all over the building, Pearce somehow was able to cheat his way to the title with the help of Hardkore Kidd, Jason Allgood and some thumbtacks. Pearce had accomplished his goal of being the PWG champion... but his issue with Kazarian was far from over. Just 2 weeks later at "88 Miles Per Hour" Frankie and new ally Babi Slymm got a measure of revenge against AP and Hardkore Kid by defeating them in a tag match. It was clear Pearce's new title reign was in serious jeopardy.... the hunter had now become the hunted. On March 27th after AP had successfully defended the title against Bobby Quance (with a little outside help). An all out war insued between AP/Colt Cabana/Kazarian/Slymm which lead to all 4 of them being suspended from the April PWG event... but even that couldn't slow the fued. If they couldn't do it in the ring they would get their revenge another way. So Kazarian & Slymm tracked down AP during a training session in Las Vegas and jumped him in his hotel. (This bit will likely be included on an upcoming DVD release) So at the next PWG show "44 Ways..." the fued continued to heat up as Adam Pearce enlisted the services of Hardkore Inc co-hort Hardkore Kid to take Frankie out of commission. Much to Pearce's dismay Kazarian overcame the challenge of the Hardkore Kidd despite the interfearance from Adam Pearce. Also that night Big Babi Slymm came within an eyelash of defeating Pearce for the PWG title... but the cunning Pearce barely escaped with the title by causing his own DQ. Afterward it all exploded into an all out brawl between Frankie-Slymm-AP-Hardkore Kidd. Which set the stage for a 4-way dance at the June 19th show. However since the Hardkore Kidd had signed a contract with WWE a few weeks earlier. Adam Pearce was left without a allie in the 4-way. Much to everyone's surprise it was Jardi Frantz who filled the 4th slot. Pearce was backed in a corner facing 3 men hungry for the title and on top of that AP's former manager Mr. Vander Pyle served as the trouble shooting ref! Adam Pearce somehow was able to defeat Slymm, and Frankie later eliminated Frantz after the wave of the future. Leaving the two bitter foes 1 on 1 once again... Pearce not wanting to face Kazarian tryed to get counted out... but Vander Pyle refused.. forcing Pearce to take desperate measures. He resorts to destorying Kazarian with a chair leaving Vander Pyle no choice but to call for the DQ. Pearce then flat out murders his former friend Mr. Vander Pyle with a sickening chair shot. Pearce looking to take advantage of the dazed Kazarian pulls a gem out of the old school bag of the tricks.... as he throws a fire ball at Kazarian!! Adam Pearce knowing the score between him and Kazarian had to be settled once in for all, layed out the challenge for a Loser Leaves Town STEEL CAGE match on 7/10. All roads have lead to this... as both men will risk it all to take each other out and hold PWG title. Will Adam Pearce's reign of terror continue? or will the title be coming back to the future? Regardless of the outcome it's safe to say that after 7/10 PWG will never be the same again! (Whoa now that's drama! I wouldn't mind seeing Pearce Vs. Kazarian: The Movie. I wonder who they could get to play Frankie? Johnny Depp maybe? ) Thoughts: This one will be worth twice the admission price alone. In a feud that has already seen thumbtacks, a fireball, 2 tables, several chairs and 1 facemasking penality, I just can't fathom what else they could have in store for us here. Also I really like how the cage match strip actually means something here. All of Pearce's past PWG wins have come via outside interfearance or by causing his own DQ to save his title. The Steel Cage eliminates both of those options forcing him to finally face Kazarian fair and square. It's so old school it's painful... As for the match itself, I'd look for a classic old school style bout here that builds apon their past match history that finally gives us a closure to the fued that's brought the absolute best out of both Kazarian (Oh and BTW if you haven't seen him in SoCal you haven't seen him peroid. So shut up with the "He sucks in TNA" crap. you wouldn't be saying that if he had his Karate Kid theme song!) and Adam Pearce. It's just a shame that one of these great talents that helped build PWG will have to leave PWG after this match. Prediction: I'm leaning toward Adam Pearce but honestly I don't have a prediction it could go either way. Plus don't forget Babi Slymm, Brad Bradley, Colt Cabana, Excalibur, M-Dogg 20, PUMA & more are scheduled to appear! Alot of great stuff can come out of here too like maybe: M-Dogg Vs. Puma, Slymm Vs. Cabana rematch, Bradley Vs. Cabana, Maybe we can finally see the Cabana Vs. Excalibur match that was pulled from BAM3K Anything is possible.. So overall, announced going in we have 5 potential MOTYCs and one sure fire fun opener. This has all the potential to be the best indy show of the year. I know many have claimed that in the past... but this time it's true. So if you can possibly get to this show and have even slight passing interest in wrestling by all means GO! Bring friends!! Bring a foes! Dress up your stuffed animals and bring them! Find people off the street and bring them! Heck just Bring anyone!!! you won't regret it. If you won't be able to make for whatever reason... then support PWG in other ways by buying a super high quality DVD or VHS tape at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/merch ! So anyone else want to comment on this? Other Predictions? Anyone want to give me advice on how to improve this write up? Anyone here planning on going to the show? Anyone have the newest Oprah Book Club Selection? I hear it's fabulisious! Thanks for reading (and not falling asleep!)
