PWG Presents "Album of the Year" on March 10, 2007! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Freshwater Corners, CA - At Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's ( http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) "Holy Diver Down" on March 24, fans witnessed the crowning of the Ninth PWG World Champion when El Generico defeated his former Tag Team Partner (and co-holder of the World Tag Team Titles) Human Tornado. El Generico now becomes the first man to simultaneously hold both the World Championship and the World Tag Team Championship titles. However, Generico's win is not without its share of controversy. Less than a week before "Holy Diver Down" was scheduled to take place PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood matched up the former duo in a World Title Match. Previously, Quicksilver and El Generico were slated to defend their titles against the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley), and Human Tornado was scheduled to be in a 6-Man tag team match against The Dynasty, his World Title not on the line. However Commissioner Winwood was forced to alter the lineup due to an injury to Quicksilver. After the conclusion of the title match at "Holy Diver Down," Human Tornado expressed disappointment, which is a given, but also poor sportsmanship by refusing to shake El Generico's hand. Backstage, Tornado was overheard having stern words with Commissioner Winwood about the unfairness of changing the match at the last minute, as well as the fact that he will be remembered as having the shortest title reign of any PWG champion to date. Commissioner Winwood, not used to a dressing down like that from any member of the PWG roster, quietly retreated to his office determined to mull over the situation. Emerging from his office earlier today with the look of a man possessed, Dino Winwood decided that with Quicksilver's injury, the circumstances were quickly going beyond his control, and he did what had to be done in order to give the fans the best show possible. Based on the cards, letters, bouquets and other feedback he received, he did the right thing not only for the fans, but for PWG as well. If Tornado is unable to accept that, he always has his rematch clause. Commissioner Winwood wants it to be know that at "Album of the Year" on March 10 at the Van Nuys Armory in Van Nuys, CA, fans will witness the following amazing feats of athleticism and derring-do: PWG World Championship Match El Generico © vs. Davey Richards -- Rematch clause or not, Human Tornado will not be receiving his shot at the title on March 10 at "Album of the Year." Instead, 2006 Battle of Los Angeles winner Davey Richards will face off with El Generico for the PWG World Championship. While this is a huge opportunity for Davey Richards to continue his quest of emerging from Super Dragon's shadow, this is an even bigger opportunity for El Generico to prove that he deserves to carry the PWG Banner through 2007 and beyond by holding the PWG World Title. In the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, El Generico was defeated, and thus eliminated from the tournament, by CIMA, who Davey Richards went on to best and win the tournament. Through the process of deductive reasoning, Davey Richards is a better wrestler than El Generico. But the world of professional wrestling is the home to many variables, so while Davey Richards may have been the better man on that day, El Generico is out to show that he will be the better man on March 10, deductive reasoning be damned. Arrogance ("Photogenic" Chris Bosh & "The Professional" Scott Lost) vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen & Franky The Mobster -- Alleged to be making his debut at "Holy Diver Down," Franky The Mobster has been chomping at the bit to see action in a PWG ring since first hearing the rumor he may or may not have started. After numerous calls to the PWG Offices by Franky The Mobster supporters (some sounding very much like Franky himself), Commissioner Winwood has decided the only way he could get the phones to stop ringing, not to mention to stop being referred to as a "See-Word," as he put it, was to book Franky The Mobster for "Album of the Year." But Franky will be forced to sing for his supper, so to speak, as he is slated to take on a team synonymous with tag team wrestling in PWG, Arrogance. "Photogenic" Chris Bosh and "The Professional" Scott Lost showed some tag team rust this past weekend at "Holy Diver Down," but The Dynasty members are confident that they will be able to work out the kinks faster than Franky The Mobster & "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen will be able to overcome the makeshift nature of their team. While Franky and Steen are no strangers in the world of professional wrestling, there is no love lost between the two either, and that may prove to be just as big of an obstacle as Arrogance on March 10. Human Tornado vs. Frankie Kazarian -- If one were to create some sort of club, one possibly based out of a tree house or a hastily constructed fort, for people who are not fans of PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood, Human Tornado along with "The Future" Frankie Kazarian would be charter members. While Commissioner Winwood admits no wrong doing on his part, the fact remains that Human Tornado is no longer PWG World Champion. However, lack of action may be at the root of Frankie Kazarian's problem with Dino, since Kazarian asserts he has had more interference in his matches than any other member of the PWG roster. While the PWG interns have not been able to verify this fact as of writing, the fact remains that Kazarian has seen his fair share of outside interference in his matches, and "Holy Diver Down" may have been the final straw. During his bout with Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson, a man strongly resembling Scorpio Sky interfered, causing Frankie to lose the match. Hoping to appease both Tornado and Kazarian, Commissioner Winwood is allowing Tornado a shot at Frankie in order to cement his position in the PWG World Title picture, and using it as an opportunity to prove to "The Future" that not every match of his will be interfered in. But is the Commish writing checks he can't cash? Fans, and all pertinent parties will see on March 10 at "Album of the Year!" PWG's First Ever Tuxedo Match Joey Ryan vs. Top Gun Talwar -- If you are anything at all like the PWG staff that receives inter-office memos from PWG Commissioner Winwood, you may be wondering, "What exactly is a Tuxedo Match?" Well, I'm glad you may or may not have asked that question, because I have an answer. But first, a little back story; Sick of Joey Ryan's underhanded victories, and even sicker of seeing Joey Ryan's hindquarters, Top Gun Talwar took it upon himself to mutilate Joey Ryan's posterior so that Joey would be embarrassed to ever show it again. Confident in his handy work, Top Gun petitioned Commissioner Winwood for an opportunity to show the fans the lasting effects of offending the delicate sensibilities of Top Gun Talwar. Dino Winwood though, was not amused. He stated frankly "You can't possibly expect Joey Ryan to come out an just drop his pants in the center of the ring. That's absurd!" What's not absurd is when Joey Ryan's pants dropped in the center of the ring is done in the context of a wrestling match. Thus, the Tuxedo Match was born. The rules of a Tuxedo match are simple, and remarkably similar to an "Evening Gown Match," the winner of the match is the first men to strip his opponent down to their underwear. While it's not required that both competitors wear a tuxedo, it has been determined that a tuxedo possesses the greatest number of clothing items, and the ability to remain mobile. If not for the sake mobility, we would be looking at a NASA space suit match. "Album of the Year" will also feature: "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli vs. Rocky "Azucar" Romero "Classic" Colt Cabana vs. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson RBTT2007BOLAT (Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour) Ronin vs. TJ Perkins Plus Disco Machine, Nemesis, Phoenix Star, PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood and the return of Excalibur! Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Album of the Year" takes place at the Van Nuys Armory on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at 8:00PM. The Van Nuys Armory is located at 17330 Victory Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91496. Tickets are $20 each, and will be available at the door. For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com. Card subject to change. -

Really happy to see the KAZ-Shelley match, because Kaz was a major influence on Shelley. Here's a short clip from an interview with @LX: "I'd like to go to All-Japan too, because the wrestler in Japan I'd most want to wrestle is far and away Kaz Hayashi. He's one of the guys I try to model my style after and I think he's just awesome." -

PWG Presents "Holy Diver Down" On February 24, 2007! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Loma Linda, CA – While 2007 has already seen Human Tornado ascend to the top of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) food chain, it has also seen a precipitous decline in the career of another PWG wrestler, Super Dragon. Dragon, who has been on a losing streak since late 2006, has had things turn for the worst when early on in his match at "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" this past weekend he suffered a broken ankle. Bouquets and Build-A-Bears have already been dispatched to Super Dragon Office, but this certainly threw a wrench in the plans of PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood, who had planned on a marquee match up for "Holy Diver Down" on February 24, 2007 at the Van Nuys Armory: Super Dragon vs. "The Man That Gravity Forgot" PAC. (For those fans who weren't at All Star Weekend IV, PAC is the English aerial artist, not the Pacific Athletic Conference. Go Acorns. Or whatever Stanford's mascot is.) Since Super Dragon's string of bad luck prevented him from facing the high flyer from across the pond, this left the Commissioner with a tough decision; Who will face PAC on February 24? With the majority of the PWG roster already penciled in for matches on February 24, Commissioner Winwood was faced with unenviable task shuffling the entire card until Kevin Steen placed an international cellular telephone call. Steen, who was already slated to take on The Dynasty in a six-man tag team match at "Holy Diver Down," told Dino he had the solution to all his problems: Mr. Wrestling. Steen suggested that he take on PAC on February 24, since he'd be giving the Commissioner a marquee match up for "Holy Diver Down," and a chance to face a man who may the best high flyer in professional wrestling today. But who would take Steen's place in the match with The Dynasty? Knowing that Commissioner Winwood still has an axe to grind with The Dynasty, Steen suggested a man who has been on a seemingly unstoppable roll as of late, Ronin. Dino took into account Ronin's impressive 7-0 win-loss record since the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, and the fact that head defeated The Dynasty's Scott Lost this past weekend at "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon," and then decided that the RBTT2007BOLAT (Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour) would be put on hold momentarily so that the Monster of Monrovia could contribute to the further destruction of The Dynasty. What else will be taking place at "Holy Diver Down" on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Van Nuys Armory in Van Nuys, CA? Glad you asked! "Holy Diver Down" will feature: Special Attraction Match "The Man That Gravity Forgot" PAC vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen PWG World Tag Team Championship Match Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) © vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) -- In October of last year at "Self-Titled," these two teams met in a match that many fans considered to be one of the best tag team matches of 2006, a match which saw the team of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley come away with a victory. Fast forward a few months to February, 2007 and Cape Fear, the team that was defeated in October, are PWG World Tag Team Champions. Now, if you were part of the the oft touted, rarely defended ZERO1-MAX International Lightweight Tag Champions, wouldn't you think that since you've already defeated these guys once, you could easily beat them again, win another set of titles, and never defend those either? Well, that's exactly what went through the heads of Sabin & Shelley, who requested a shot at the PWG World Tag Team Titles, citing their previous victory over the champions as merit enough for a chance at the belt. Some may think El Generico & Quicksilver would not want to put their titles on the line against a team that has already bested them once, but those that think that way aren't PWG World Tag Team Champions, are they? With an opportunity to avenge a past loss, as well as continuing to forge their reputation as fighting champions, Cape Fear accepted the match, and must now prove that they have grown as a tag team since "Self-Titled." Six-Man Tag Team Battle The Dynasty ("Photogenic" Chris Bosh, "The Professional" Scott Lost, & Joey Ryan) vs. Ronin, Taliban Talwar, & PWG World Champion Human Tornado -- At PWG's third anniversary show, "Threemendous," former PWG World Champion Joey Ryan attacked Top Gun Talwar immediately after his match, injuring him so severely that he took the 42-hour Medivac Helicopter journey to India where he was the recipient of a baboon heart transplant. Bed ridden for months, when Talwar was finally discharged from the hospital he was determined to stretch his legs, and began to walk. Much like the legend of American literature Forrest Gump, Talwar walked with little regard to where his feet were taking him, and after some time found himself in a decidedly hilly area of Pakistan populated by men with a great propensity for Kalashnikov rifles. After a little explaining and quite a few "God Dammits," Talwar was able to convince these men that he was not, in fact, a spy of the American government, but simply a man without direction his life. After his experimental heart surgery, Talwar thought for sure his wrestling days were behind him, and that his future lied somewhere in Indochina. However, that was not the case, since Talwar found himself in the midst of a tribal struggle between men who were on the run from self-appointed Pakistani leader Pervez "Perv" Musharraf. Talwar was forced to rely on his grappling skill to first defend himself, then to ultimately take control and unite the tribes of Eastern Pakistan. After teaching the members of his adopted tribe the art of the Chipotle and Diving Shoulder Tackle, along with a quick and easy way to stay awake and super alert for 28 hours straight, Talwar decided it was time to return to America to first settle some old scores, then to rally support for the opposition of Musharraf. Adopting the name of the united tribes of Pakistan, Taliban Talwar returns to PWG to act upon the fatwa requiring the eradication of Joey Ryan and The Dynasty from PWG. While not quite as globe trotting, the history of Human Tornado and Joey Ryan also goes back to "Threemendous," where Tornado interjected himself in Joey Ryan's steel cage match, and despite winning the match, Joey never forgot Tornado's interference. In the following months, Tornado and Ryan's rivalry reached a fevered pitch, ultimately ending in the brutal Guerrilla Warfare match at "Based On A True Story" which saw Tornado crowned the first new Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion in over a year. Joey Ryan, unused to the PWG World Title resting in the hands of another man, enlisted the help of The Dynasty stable-mates Chris Bosh and Scott Lost to interfere in Tornado's title match at "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon," allowing Tornado to retain the title and immediately defend it against Joey Ryan, who called in his "Any Time, Any Where" title rematch clause. Even though Tornado was once again victorious in the encounter, the champ remarked he would never tire of "kicking Joey's ass," so PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood has given him another opportunity at "Holy Diver Down," where Human Tornado, along with Taliban Talwar and "The Monster of Monrovia" Ronin, will do battle with Joey Ryan, Chris Bosh, and Scott Lost, The Dynasty. Chapeau Challenge Match Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson vs. "The Future" Frankie Kazarian Homecoming Match - Teacher vs. Student TJ Perkins vs. "Havana Pitbull" Ricky Reyes Best 2-out-of-3 Series Finale Disco Machine vs. Bino Gambino Plus PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood will be on hand to oversee the action! For fans who went hungry during "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" this past weekend, you will be happy to know that Mama Talwar's Concession Stand will be serving up delectable delicacies on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at "Holy Diver Down!" Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Holy Diver Down" takes place at the Van Nuys Armory on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 8:00PM. The Van Nuys Armory is located at 17330 Victory Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91496. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star and Zokre) from PWG and assorted other West Coast Feds. Pretty good team. It was strange to see them wrestle under their real names and without their masks.

PWG Presents "Holy Diver Down" On February 24, 2007!
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Due to Quicksilver's concussion. PWG has changed the card around... for the better IMO Updates For PWG's "Holy Diver Down" On Feb. 24 By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Yorba Linda, CA - Imagine for a moment that you are a professional wrestler, assuming that you are not. Chances are, if you're reading this, you are not a professional wrestler, since most professional wrestlers suffer from mild dyslexia or are functionally illiterate. It's true, I read it in a book. Anyway, as your imagination begins to wander, imagine that you are one half of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) World Tag Team Champions. Continue to follow your mind down that same path, and now imagine you successfully defended your titles against Roderick Strong & Davey Richards on February 10, 2007. Now imagine the price you would pay to continue calling yourself champion. Quicksilver doesn't have to imagine, because he suffered a Grade 2 concussion as he and El Generico went on to retain the titles that evening. Days later, Quicksilver is still paying the price. After the match with Roderick Strong & Davey Richards, Quicksilver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but was cleared and released later that evening. Confident he would be in peak condition to help defend Cape Fear's titles, he agreed to take on the team of Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley, the "Motor City Machine Guns," at "Holy Diver Down," taking place February 24, 2007 at the Van Nuys Armory. Days after announcing the lineup for "Holy Diver Down," Quicksilver was still suffering from dizziness and nausea, and sought a second opinion. The diagnosis was not one he wanted to hear; Quicksilver was advised by his physician not to wrestle on February 24, and that he would need to undergo further testing to determine when he would be fit to return to the ring. With injuries plaguing the PWG locker room, Commissioner Dino Winwood has been given the unenviable task of reorganizing the entire lineup. However, with PWG heading toward its fourth year of operation, Dino's confidence in his match making ability is at an all time high. We hope you are as satisfied with the lineup changes as Commissioner Winwood is. "Holy Diver Down" takes place on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Van Nuys Armory in Van Nuys, CA, and will feature: PWG World Championship Match Human Tornado © vs. El Generico -- With El Generico's current tag team partner sidelined, Commissioner Winwood has given him the opportunity to face off with his former tag team partner! El Generico and PWG World Champion Human Tornado have only met once in singles competition, with El Generico coming away victorious. Now in their second encounter, the stakes can't get any higher for Human Tornado! With both participants being heavy fan favorites, will the support of the crowd factor on, or will this match be a true contest of professional wrestling skill? Special Attraction Match "The Man That Gravity Forgot" PAC vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen Tag Team Dream Match Arrogance ("Photogenic" Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) vs. The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) -- When these two teams were part of a six-man tag team match in December 2006, Chris Bosh & Scott Lost's side came out on top. But now Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley are out to prove that they earned the ZERO1-MAX International Lightweight Tag Team Titles, and that they are unstoppable in two-on-two competition. Holy War Grudge Match Joey Ryan vs. Taliban Talwar RBTT2007BOLAT (Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour) "Havana Pitbull" Ricky Reyes vs. Ronin Chapeau Challenge Match Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson vs. "The Future" Frankie Kazarian 3 Match Series Rubber Match Disco Machine vs. Bino Gambino Plus PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood will be on hand to oversee the action! PWG's "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" takes place on

PWG's "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" takes place on February 10, 2007! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Darwin, CA - It's not often that Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) finds itself with a new World Champion, and it's not often that PWG finds itself with a new home, so after January 12 at "Based On A True Story" it's like waking up from a 406 day sleep and not remembering how to shut off your alarm. (That means it's disorienting for those of you who are slow on the uptake.) At "Based On A True Story" fans witnessed the crowning of a new PWG World Champion after one of the most brutal Guerrilla Warfare matches in company history when Human Tornado defeated Joey Ryan, ending his 13 month reign. Commissioner Dino Winwood, who has never been a great fan of Joey Ryan (to put it lightly), is embracing the win by Tornado and using it as a chance to begin a new era in PWG. That is why on February 10, 2007 Human Tornado will defend his title for the first time at a brand new location for PWG, the Van Nuys Armory! Commissioner Winwood hopes that the fans will not be too disoriented by all the changes taking place within PWG, and join us in scenic Van Nuys on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 8:00PM for "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon!" If you're not from Southern California, or you just haven't been to Van Nuys, you are in for a real treat. From the Van Nuys Airport to the Budweiser Brewery, any trip up (or down) the 405 is made that much sweeter when you know you'll be exiting in Van Nuys. But the ultimate reward is being there live for the dawning of a new era in PWG history when Human Tornado, accompanied by the lovely Candice LeRae, puts his belt on the line against the Number One Contender for the title, "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen. Since returning from Japan, Steen has shown a more focused and more aggressive side, but when he faced "Photogenic" Chris Bosh in the Number One Contender Match at "Based On A True Story," fans were reminded of the light hearted and jocular Kevin Steen they fell in love with. Will that Kevin Steen be on hand to fight for the title? And for that matter, did the Guerrilla Warfare match with Joey Ryan bring out a darker side of Human Tornado? Will PWG World Champion Human Tornado defend his belt at all costs, like the former champion? Or will both men show a third, completely different yet still nuanced side to their personalities, like "Mr. Accounting" Kevin Steen, CPA, or the hard hitting yet soft spoken Human Potato? Watch out, he's got eyes in the back of his head... and everywhere else! No one knows for sure, but the only way to find out is to be on hand Saturday, February 10 at the Van Nuys Armory! Also scheduled for "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" at the Van Nuys Armory, located at 17330 Victory Blvd., Van Nuys, CA 91406 on Saturday, February 10, 2007 is: PWG World Tag Team Championship Title Match Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) vs. Davey Richards & Roderick Strong -- On February 10, 2007, both El Generico and Quicksilver will have held a PWG title for longer than they ever have in their respective careers. El Generico's first tag title reign was ended when Super Dragon and Davey Richards joined forces with heretofore unseen dominance of the PWG tag team division. During the reign of Dragon & Richards, El Generico & Quicksilver united as "Cape Fear" to fight for, and were subsequently defeated, three separate times. Now that Cape Fear is in possession of the PWG World Tag Team titles, they are determined not to go down without a fight. After defeating title reign mile markers Los Luchas, Commissioner Winwood offered his friends a chance to prove themselves against a pair of former tag champions who never received their rematch for the belts. Cape Fear readily accepted, eager to show fans that the Cape Fear of 2007 is a far better team than the '06 model. However, they have their work cut out for them when Davey Richards & Roderick Strong stand across the ring on February 10. Richards & Strong were PWG World Tag Team Champions for a mere 24 hours in November of 2006, but a win is a win, and a rematch is theirs for the taking. But why would Davey Richards opt for another shot at the belts when by all accounts, Super Dragon has been suffering the effects of post-concussion syndrome since the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, and would be a seemingly easy target for revenge? According to Davey Richards, "a punchy Super Dragon is not the man I want to face." Strong words from Richards, and that could be the very reason why he decided to reunite with "The Do'er Of The Backbreaker" Roderick Strong to challenge for the titles. I mean his sense of honor, not the pun, or play on words. Either way, fans are the real winners when on February 10, 2007 at "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" at the Van Nuys Armory, the British Bulldog-ish duo of Davey Richards & Roderick Strong take on current PWG World Tag Team Champions El Generico & Quicksilver, Cape Fear! The Dynasty Grudge Match, Part 1 "The Future" Frankie Kazarian vs. Joey Ryan -- It's been a long time since the write up for a PWG show hasn't been dominated by "What will The Dynasty do next?" talk, and an even longer time since a write up hasn't had the words "PWG World Champion Joey Ryan" in it. But oh, how the times are a-changing. After surviving his record second Loser Leaves PWG Match by defeating Scorpio Sky at "Based On A True Story," Frankie Kazarian has taken it upon himself to completely dismantle The Dynasty. (Fun fact, previous record holder for most victories in a Loser Leaves PWG Matches: Frankie Kazarian) And what better time to do so than now when The Dynasty is in a state of disarray? One quarter of the in-ring component of The Dynasty is gone, one quarter is returning from an injury and still may not be 100%, one quarter lost a Number One Contender match with a particularly embarrassing stipulation, and one quarter lost the thing that was nearest and dearest to him in the world. But Frankie Kazarian may have bitten off more than he can chew with this Charles Bronson-esque mission, because Joey Ryan is sore, angry, depressed, and looking for revenge. Since he can't get his rematch for the PWG World Championship yet, he's out to do the next best thing and that is to cripple the man who single handedly irrevocably altered The Dynasty as we knew it. The Dynasty Grudge Match, Part 2 "Photogenic" Chris Bosh vs. "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli -- Just a few months ago, it seemed like fans would see professional wrestling's "Most Money Making Man" on a television in their living rooms in no time, and it seemed that Chris Bosh was thinking along those lines as well. That could be why along with his tag partner Scott Lost, Bosh publicly disrespected Claudio Castagnoli in what was scheduled to be his last match in PWG. Pretty good timing if you think about it. Claudio was heading off to greener pastures, and what better way to make Chris Bosh feel like the Chris Bosh that Chris Bosh knows Chris Bosh should feel like than to get in a parting shot on someone who can't possibly retaliate? What was Claudio going to do, fly himself back here, on his own dime, just to get revenge for some personal slight? Of course not, don't be ridiculous. But when Commissioner Dino Winwood found out that Claudio's calendar had some open dates, he took the first opportunity to bring "Double C" back to PWG for some payback on Bosh. Will we see The Dynasty collapse further, or will Chris Bosh prove that The Dynasty is a true team, stronger than (the loss of) any single member? -- "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" will feature three additional special attraction matches: Six Man Scramble Los Luchas Y Uno Más (Phoenix Star, Zokre & Nemesis) vs. B-Boy, Rocky "Azucar" Romero, & Super Dragon Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour (RBTT2007BOLAT) Continues! "The Professional" Scott Lost vs. Ronin Forever Fighting With Exciting Heart Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson vs. Disco Machine All this, plus PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood will be on hand to oversee the action! Also, a quick note from the commissioner and the staff of PWG: Taping any portion of the PWG live events is not permitted. This includes taping by digital cameras and cell phones, as well as video cameras. If you are found taping during the event, you will be escorted out of the building. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Guitarmageddon II: Armoryageddon" takes place at the Van Nuys Armory on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 8:00PM. PWG Presents "Based On A True Story" on January 13, 2007!

PWG American Legion Post #308 Reseda, CA Attendance: 300 Frankie Kazarian defeated Scorpio Sky in a Loser Leaves PWG match. Rocky Romero defeated Colt Cabana Disco Machine, Nemesis, & TJ Perkins defeated Karl Anderson, Scott Lost, & Bino Gambino Kevin Steen defeated Chris Bosh to become the Number One Contender to the PWG World Championship Ronin defeated Super Dragon Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) defeated Los Luchas (Zokre & Phoenix Star) to retain the PWG World Tag Team Championship The Human Tornado defeated Joey Ryan in a Guerrila Warfare match to become the new PWG World Champion Show recap courtesy Jay Doring: Scorpio Sky entered to Three Six Mafia's "It's a Fight" (Mason Dixon's theme from Rocky Balboa -Sky is a well-known fan of the Rocky movies) which really put over the "big fight" atmosphere of the match and got me pretty hyped right away. Sky had new ring gear, which I thought gave away the finish, but boy was I wrong. Bell-to-bell action in this one, with some callbacks to their Battle of Los Angeles match. The match ran through every possible "Sky wins" scenario: 1. Jade Chung interference? Check. 2. Dynasty interference? Check. 3. Chairshot after a ref bump? Check. 4. Sky's finisher? Check. Frankie just KEPT KICKING OUT, and the crowd was getting more and more into it with every nearfall. Finally, after getting humiliated every step of the way through their feud, Frankie pulls away from Jade Chung on an attempted top-rope spot by Sky, hits her with the Wave, crotches Sky and plants him with the Flux Capacitor for the shocking 1-2-3. One of my favorite PWG matches in quite some time. As the results stated, Romero/Cabana was basically another episode of The Colt Cabana Show, focusing on Colt's unique comedy schtick. Rocky was game for that kind of match, reacting well to each of Colt's quasi-improv'ed stuff. Two particularly funny moments were an accidental ref bump to Patrick Hernandez, where Colt offered to pick him up and then pretended to be distracted by a girl in the audience, dropping him (Patrick had done the same thing to Colt earlier in the match) and another was Colt selling a Romero kick to the ribs in the most over-the-top way possible for nearly three minutes, then acting fine whenever the ref and Rocky's back was turned. This had the neat counters you'd expect from a Rocky/Cabana match, and ended when Cabana tried to counter the Ankle Lock with a British reversal, but Rocky reversed to a victory roll for the pinfall. The six-man was really disappointing, mainly because Cabana had to be subbed in to the Romero match due to B-Boy's absence. Colt is really great at holding together these multi-mans (as evident by these 8-man at BOLA this year), something an injured Scott Lost really wasn't capable of doing. I really didn't understand, after Bino got himself over with a nutty promo at the previous show, why neither he nor Karl Anderson (who's main strength is his promos) got any mic time. This match really didn't showcase anyone, and just kinda kept going with no real flow for most of it - the finishing sequence was nice, but having Disco Machine (who's barely a presence on cards anymore) going over clean over a potentially hot new midcard heel pretty much killed all of the momentum Bino built up last show. I actually don't remember a whole lot about Steen/Bosh other than enjoying it - like the last time this "stipulation" was brought up, everyone thought Bosh's "Suck my Cock" match promo was code for a draw. Bosh, as usual, took some pretty sick stuff, such as getting powerbombed into the apron. Bosh kicked out of the Package Piledriver, but two moonsaults and the turbbuckle Steenalizer got the job done. People came into Ronin/Super Dragon expecting a pure slugfest, and what they got was basically a lot of testing each other on the mat and subtly countering each other's stuff, whch might have gone over the highspot-conditioned PWG audience's head. For example, Super Dragon countered Ronin's lift-into-a-forearm with a forearm of his own. There was some hurty stuff in the mat section - Ronin stepped directly on Dragon's head and neck as Dragon was sitting down, and Dragon connected with a brutal-looking doublestomp to Ronin's chest. A lot of the mat stuff WAS pointless though (a longtime criticism of Super Dragon matches), and because it was going so slow the crowd turned on the match pretty badly. Ring announcer TARO announced that "20 minutes were gone, 10 minutes remaining" which is usually the international signal for a time-limit draw. However, Ronin crotched Dragon on the the top rope, and Ronin caught him with a DVD for two. Dragon tried to fight back but got hit with a second DVD, for two. Finally a lariat and a third DVD put SD down. Obviously this is a huge rub for Ronin, but it probably hurts the eventual Super Dragon/Davey Richards blowoff if Ronin can destroy Dragon clean. I'm also worried that Super Dragon doesn't have much left in the tank. He's been "off" since BOLA, but he's been really slow and dazed in the ring, and he's gotten even fatter. He's been a chunky mofo for a few years now, but this was the first time I've seen him where his gut was almost hanging out of his costume. Cape Fear vs. Los Luchas doesn't really need much of a description - it was their usual very good outing together and went more or less exactly as expected. The finish was this: Phoenix Star charges, but gets caught in a headscissors hold by Quicksilver. He's held in place so Generico can Yakuza Kick his face off, and Quicksilver, still holding the headscissors, reverse ranas him, spiking him on his head for the win. Human Tornado vs. Joey Ryan...wow, I don't think ANYONE expected it to be as bloody and violent as the Super Dragon vs. Kevin Steen match, but it came pretty damn close. The match was just kinda moving along as a basic hardcore match, until Joey grabbed a beer bottle that was conveniently placed on the merchandise table and SMASHED it over Tornado's head, shattering it and causing him to bleed huge (I checked the shards though...it was gimmicked sugar glass. Still a great visual.) Joey dominated for a while (including his patented pull out a chair...sit on it and do a chinlock move.) The use of a trashcan backfired on Joey, as he got hung upside down in it for Tornado's Billy Blanks kicks. A top-rope knee drop with Joey in the trash can opened up Joey, so both guys had the "crimson mask." There were a ton of sick spots here, but I'll just list the really notable ones. -Joey bashing Tornado right in the head with the end of a ladder (made a really sick thud noise). -Canadian Destroyer off the Legion Hall stage through a table on the floor by Human Tornado. -Candice LeRae (Human Tornado's valet) diving off the top of a ladder to Joey on the floor immediately thereafter. -Tornado taking a back suplex into a barbed wire board. The finish was amazing...after the suplex into the barbed wire gets two, Joey calls in the Dynasty...who are immediately run off by the babyfaces. Tornado EXPLODES with the POOOOUUUNCE (period), which drives Joey into thumbtacks, followed by a tornado DDT into the tacks and Tornado's finisher on the tacks for the three count, and the building ERUPTS. Great drama, pitch-perfect selling by Tornado and the perfect closer to Joey's 13-month reign as PWG champion. If you're a PWG fan at all, this is a MUST-OWN on DVD, a major chapter in the promotion's history. -

PWG Presents "Based On A True Story" on January 13, 2007! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Westmorland, CA - With 2007 fast approaching, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerilla.com) Commissioner Dino Winwood and his staff would like wish everyone a safe New Year's Eve and a happy 2007. Not out of any good will on their behalf, you see, but because if you are killed/kill someone in some alcohol fueled race across the roadways of Southern California, chances are you will be in no condition to check out "Based On A True Story" PWG's first show of the new year taking place on Saturday, January 13 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA! "Based On A True Story" marks the return of PWG after an extended holiday hiatus, and what better way to ring in the new year than a double main event? Commissioner Winwood has decided that 2007 will be a no nonsense year for the management (mainly himself) and to drive that point home, he has decided upon two matches that will bring two of PWG's biggest rivalries in 2006 to a close. In the first part of the double main event, PWG's longest reigning World Champion Joey Ryan will put his title on the line for one last time against Human Tornado in the most dangerous match PWG has to offer: a Guerrilla Warfare match. It will only be the fifth match of its kind, and it will be the first time for Human Tornado competing in such a match, but it will be Joey Ryan's second, which could give him a distinct advantage. In a Guerrilla Warfare match both men are free to use any means necessary to incapacitate and defeat their opponent, and as fans have seen in the past, a match like this can come down to which competitor is the most creatively deranged, which could be yet another advantage for the PWG World Champion. Joey Ryan has used every possible trick in order to hold on to his title, from simply holding the tights to aggravated criminal assault, there is little that the champion won't do in order to keep his belt. It is a stark contrast to Human Tornado who, with Candice LeRae in his corner, used 2006 as an opportunity to display his growth as a professional wrestler combined with his sheer athleticism, which quickly put him in the title hunt. Now both men are at the end of the line with respect to one another. If Human Tornado loses this match, Commissioner Winwood has decided that Tornado will be unable to challenge Joey Ryan for the PWG World Title for the rest of his reign. If Joey Ryan loses this match, not only will he lose the title belt, but it could also show that Joey's reign was something of a farce, since he could be beaten at his own game. With the playing field leveled, will we see Human Tornado sent down B-Boy's path, forbidden from challenging Joey for the title again, or will the first show of the year see a new champion crowned and the start of a new era in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla? The second part of the double main event features two men battling not over championships or titles, but over pride and respect. The Dynasty's Scorpio Sky and "The Future" Frankie Kazarian have traveled down a treacherous path to reach this point, and Commissioner Winwood has decided that on January 13 at "Based On A True Story," the feud between these two men will reach its terminus. How can the Commissioner guarantee such a thing? By pitting these two men against one another in a Loser Leaves Town match! It's a match that has occurred only once before in PWG, and that time Frankie Kazarian barely walked away from it. This time, the bad blood is no less intense, but the stakes are even higher. Two and a half years after fighting for his PWG career for the first time, Frankie again fighting for his PWG career, and now for the right to call himself "The Future," it would seem. From his first unprovoked attack on Kazarian, Scorpio Sky has maintained that he is destined for greatness in the world of professional wrestling, but in order to achieve that destiny, he must prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is the true future of this sport. With Jade Chung and The Dynasty by his side, Scorpio Sky has relentlessly pursued Frankie, trying to drive him out of PWG and professional wrestling for good. Now Sky may finally have that chance. Their previous encounters have seen terrific violence, and now with their PWG careers on the line, the decisive battle between these two men could be the bloodiest yet. Also taking place at "Based On A True Story" on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 8:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA is: PWG World Tag Team Championship Match Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) © vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) -- With two separate chapters in PWG coming to a close at "Based On A True Story," Commissioner Winwood saw it fitting to start writing some new ones. Newly crowned PWG World Tag Team Champions Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) will make the first title defense of their reign against the returning Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre). During the title reign of Davey Richards and Super Dragon, the champions were able to prove what a destructive force they were by making an example of Los Luchas not once, but twice. Now with months of training and preparation, and most importantly, new champions, Los Luchas feel that they are ready to take the PWG World Tag Titles back to Oxaca with them. However, Cape Fear also tried to unseat the champions multiple times before it actually happened, and now that they finally have the belts in their possession, El Generico and Quicksilver may show that they who want it most may be the toughest champions of all. Number One Contender Match "Photogenic" Chris Bosh vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen -- Whichever man walks out of the Guerrilla Warfare match with the belt around his waist will already have a challenger waiting in the wings to fight for the title in February, because "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen will take on Joey Ryan's stable-mate "Photogenic" Chris Bosh. While a shot at regaining the PWG World Championship is great for Kevin Steen, a chance at capturing the title for the first time could be the biggest opportunity of Chris Bosh's career. After winning the 2005 Battle of Los Angeles, the PWG World Title eluded Chris Bosh, who ultimately turned his focus back to tag team wrestling. Now with an injury sidelining Scott Lost, Chris Bosh has a chance to not only become the first man to win both the Battle of Los Angeles and the PWG title, but to also be The Dynasty's insurance policy, should Human Tornado be crowned champion. Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour - Teacher vs. Student Ronin vs. Super Dragon -- The RBTT2007BOLAT began the second that Ronin was eliminated from the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, but Ronin's determination to defeat the man he considers his teacher began years ago. Now with five consecutive victories over some of the biggest names in independent professional wrestling under his belt and perfecting the "HD-DVD," Ronin now believes he has learned enough for the student to finally become the master. And what a victory it would be, since Super Dragon, master of the Blu-Ray Thunder Bomb, is not only the man who taught Ronin his trade, but he's also the same man who went to the final round of the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles before he was attacked by The Dynasty, not to mention a former PWG World Singles and Tag Team Champion. Super Dragon is known as a man with a surly disposition, but after losing the PWG World Tag Titles on the last show of 2006, Dragon may be looking to take out some of his frustration on the next man he faces, student or not. Southern California Originals Match "The New Age Punisher" B-Boy vs. Rocky "Azucar" Romero -- When fans think of professional wrestling in Southern California, often times the first thing that comes to mind is PWG. However, before PWG started, SoCal was something of a black hole in the wrestling scene, filled with many talented wrestlers who did not receive that much exposure. Two of those men are B-Boy and Rocky Romero. Both men are products of some of the toughest gyms, garages, and outdoor mid-summer swap meets SoCal has to offer, and both men struggled to draw attention to themselves early in their careers. From that point, their paths diverge, with each man going a very different way than the other. Since then, both men have becomes household names in the independent wrestling community, PWG has come into prominence is Southern California, and both men have proven to be integral parts of the roster from the start. Now that each man has 5+ years of experience behind them, which path will prove superior? Will B-Boy's loss of the PWG World Tag Titles last month reinvigorate him, or will Rocky Romero put a stop to his 3 match slide and show B-Boy that kicks to the face, not just sugar, will make your teeth fall out? Plus Disco Machine, TJ Perkins, Bino Gambino, PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood and more! Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Based On A True Story" takes place at American Legion Post #308 on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 8:00PM. PWG Presents "Passive Hostility" on December 2!
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
I heard "Self titled" would be out in January. -
PWG Presents "Passive Hostility" on December 2! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Tortuga, CA - With Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) All Star Weekend IV becoming an even more distant memory, we feel its important that fans are reminded of some very important facts. First, the slow simmering feud between PWG World Champion Joey Ryan and The Human Tornado finally heating up to a boil at ASW IV, with Tornado being granted a title shot on what will be the 364th day of Joey Ryan's title reign. But how did it get to that point? And what else can fans expect to see on December 2nd as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla returns to American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA for "Passive Hostility?" Read on, intrepid reader, and only then will you find out! If you will remember, it was at Threemendous when things really picked up between Joey Ryan and The Human Tornado, and it was Tornado's involvement that very nearly cost Joey Ryan his title inside the steel cage. Then just six weeks later at the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, Human Tornado's team defeated Joey Ryan's team on the first night, then wrestling as El Snowflake, Tornado defeated Joey Ryan by count out on Night Two. The count out victory was enough to grant Tornado another shot at the belt, and at "Self-Titled," fans thought Joey's reign was over when Human Tornado pinned him in the center of the ring, but due to a contractual loophole the match was ruled non-title, and Joey held onto the belt yet again. Growing ever more frustrated at the evasive and underhanded tactics of Joey Ryan, Tornado took it upon himself to abscond with the actual title belt, leaving Joey Ryan with nothing more than a Certificate of Completion and a faux-leather number from Sears as proof of his title reign. All of that brings us to PWG's All Star Weekend IV, where Human Tornado and the PWG-Unit defeated Joey Ryan and The Dynasty on Night One, making Tornado 4-0 against Joey Ryan in the last four matches they've had against each other. But Joey had the last laugh that weekend, as he reclaimed the physical title while Tornado was incapacitated, going on to successfully defend the belt later that evening. With all the history between these two, you wouldn't think that the stake of Joey Ryan's title defense on December 2nd could go any higher, but then, you wouldn't be thinking about PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood. Commissioner Winwood was contacted just a few days ago by none other than former PWG World Champion "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen. After Steen's impressive tour of Dragon Gate, he is returning to PWG with renewed confidence and is ready to settle some old scores. At the top of that list is Joey Ryan, who defeated "Mr. Wrestling" on December 3, 2005 in order to become PWG World Champion, and hasn't looked back since. Still troubled by this loss, Steen wants to prove to the fans of PWG that he is still a force in the promotion, no matter how long he's gone for, and what better way to do so than to prevent Joey Ryan from completing an entire year as PWG World Champion? Commissioner Winwood, whose wits may have still been addled by too much Thanksgiving indulgence, also thought it was a capital idea idea and so now on December 2 at "Passive Hostility" Joey Ryan will defend the PWG World Title against The Human Tornado and "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen in a Triple Threat Match! The second fact from PWG's All Star Weekend IV that fans should be reminded of is that Davey Richards cashed in his 2006 Battle of Los Angeles wildcard match, and did in fact win the PWG World Tag Team Titles with Roderick Strong, but less than 24 hours later (or only 6 explosions and just 28 dead terrorists in Jack Bauer-time) B-Boy and Super Dragon had regained the titles. After going through so much to climb back to the top of the ladder in PWG, Richards was furious, feeling that the one thing preventing him from getting even with Super Dragon was not a lack of wrestling skill or ability, but a lack of overall experience. Dragon's career has lasted three times longer than Davey's, and in that time, Dragon has traveled the world, honing his craft, becoming a smarter wrestler. However Commissioner Winwood is always concerned with the mental health of his wrestlers, and is offering Davey Richards a very important opportunity on December 2, a shot at entering two of Europe's biggest professional wrestling tournaments! In early 2007, the King of Europe Cup and wXw's 16 Carat Gold Tournament will be taking place just a week apart from one another, and PWG will be sending a representative to both tournaments. However, it's not a given that Davey Richards will be PWG's representative, because first he will have to face Rocky "Azucar" Romero in a qualifying match! Romero, a veteran of the 2006 16 Carat Gold Tournament, has been looking for a chance to prove his second round loss in this year's tournament was a fluke, and this could be his opportunity! Not only that, he could also be crowned the King of Europe as well! But it all starts with the Double Tournament Qualifying match on December 2 at "Passive Hostility!" The third item that fans should recall is that The Most Money Making Man, "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli has been signed to a Developmental contract with WWE. While we congratulate Claudio for this huge opportunity, we're also sorry to see him go. Which is why fans threw streamers and "Double C" received special recognition at All Star Weekend IV. Which, in retrospect, may have been jumping the gun a little bit. See, Claudio and Commissioner Winwood worked out a special agreement where Claudio's last match in PWG would be against none other than fellow King of Wrestling Chris Hero. The only problem is, they didn't bother to tell anyone (the preferred method of communication in PWG). So hopefully you didn't blow through your 2006 streamer budget, or perhaps you can dip into 2007's, because on December 2 and "Passive Hostility" in his last PWG match, "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli will take on Chris Hero! Will "Double C" finally be able to surpass his long time training partner, or will Hero be sending a humbled Claudio to Louisville? Be there on December 2 to find out! On Saturday, December 2 at 8:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla presents "Passive Hostility," which will feature: PWG World Championship Triple Threat Match Joey Ryan © vs. The Human Tornado vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen PWG World Tag Team Championship Match B-Boy & Super Dragon vs. Cape Fear (El Generico & Quicksilver) Farewell to the Most Money Making Man "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli vs. Chris Hero The Dynasty ("Photogenic" Chris Bosh, Scott Lost, & Scorpio Sky) vs. "The Future" Frankie Kazarian & Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley) Double European Tournament Qualifying Match Davey Richards vs. Rocky "Azucar" Romero Ronin vs. Matt Sydal Plus PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood and much more! Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's "Passive Hostility" takes place at American Legion Post #308 on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 8:00PM. The American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Tickets are $20 each, and will be available at the door. PWG Presents All Star Weekend IV November 17 & 18! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer Frink, CA - Thousands of years from now, when historians look back at the great stories of this era it is possible that they will see the plight of Davey Richards in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com) and draw many similarities to the even older story of Odysseus. For those of you that slept through grade seven, Odysseus was a mighty young warrior who left his home to do battle with enemies in a far off land, and while he was away enduring many hardships, his wife was wooed by suitors who had taken up residence in his home. After many years away, Odysseus returns to Ithaca, slays the suitors, and restores order to his house. While Davey Richards was not married to the PWG World Tag Team Championship, in some some states they could be considered common-law man and wife. Odysseus' story is an allegory of the plight of Davey Richards, a story which seems to be approaching its third and possibly final act. Will he destroy the men who have embarrassed him and return the House of Richards to its former glory? People of the future know the answer, but the rest of us suckers living in the past will have to find out at PWG's All Star Weekend IV! Not only will All Star Weekend IV see Davey Richards teaming up with Roderick Strong to take on PWG World Tag Team Champions Super Dragon & B-Boy, but it will also feature all four members of The Dynasty teaming together in the same match for the first time. In the past five months, PWG World Champion Joey Ryan, "Photogenic" Chris Bosh, "The Professional" Scott Lost, and Scorpio Sky have made an enemy out of just about everyone in PWG. But most recently, Joey Ryan piledrove Quicksilver on a steel chair, used a contractual loophole to keep the PWG World Title from Human Tornado, and enlisted The Dynasty's help to defeat El Generico just days ago at "Horror Business." And don't get me started on the effrontery of Scorpio Sky when it comes to Frankie Kazarian. However, on the first night of All Star Weekend IV, The Dynasty will have to face the four men they've wronged so grievously, the team of El Generico, Human Tornado, Frankie Kazarian, and Quicksilver, with Candice LeRae in their corner! With all four members of The Dynasty in the ring and Jade Chung at ringside, there will be no backup, there will be no surprise attacks! These two teams will have a level playing field and prove once and for all who is the most dominant force in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla today! All Star Weekend is traditionally a big event for PWG, and ASW IV is no exception! That is why we are happy to offer our fans a chance to pre-purchase their tickets and save a little money in the process. Tickets are $25 per night, but if you purchase tickets for both nights together, it's only $40! All Star Weekend IV will be held at American Legion Post 308 in Reseda, CA, and fans who were in attendance for the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles know how crowded it was. That is why we will be offering ticket pre-orders online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com starting this Saturday, October 28 at 10AM, where fans can buy single night tickets, or a two night package. Tickets will also be available at the door on a first come, first served basis. All Star Weekend IV takes place on Friday, November 17 at 8:00PM and Saturday, November 18 at 4:00PM. Please note the earlier than usual start time for Night Two. With Davey Richards cashing in his 2006 Battle of Los Angeles wildcard and The Dynasty potentially paying the piper in ponderous proportions, an alliteration which here means "being bruised quite violently," what more could the first night offer? I'm glad you asked, because Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All Star Weekend IV - Night One will feature: PWG World Tag Team Title Match Super Dragon & B-Boy © vs. Davey Richards & Roderick Strong 8-Men Tag Team Battle The Dynasty (Chris Bosh, Scott Lost, Joey Ryan, & Scorpio Sky {w/ Jade Chung}) vs. El Generico, The Human Tornado, Frankie Kazarian, & Quicksilver (w/ Candice LeRae) All Star Weekend Return Match Rocky Romero vs. Samoa Joe - In an unprecedented move for his administration, PWG Commissioner Dino Winwood extended the olive branch to Samoa Joe and offered him a clean slate if he wanted to return to the PWG ring. The Samoan Submission Machine jumped at the chance, but perhaps a bit too quickly. There's not much that can make the big man flinch, even for a second, but when he found out he was facing his former training partner Rocky Romero, the commissioner swears Joe took a moment to consider the match. While it is more likely that Samoa Joe was smashing coconuts with his head, the fact remains that he has his work cut out for him with the Havana Pitbull Rocky Romero! "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. "The Man That Gravity Forgot" Pac - It's hard to say what fans will be looking forward to more, the return of former PWG World Champion AJ Styles, or the debut of the British high flyer who is taking the world by storm, Pac. While some may think "The Man That Gravity Forgot" is just a title, Pac intends to prove to PWG fans that it is a factual statement, not just a clever nickname. Will his aerial assault be enough to defeat the former PWG champion, or will AJ Styles prove that it takes more than gravity looking the other way in order to visit the pay window? "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. "Notorious 187" Homicide - Christopher Daniels has been absent from PWG for over seven months now, and in that time he has been engaged in a brutal feud with Homicide, and now their battle comes to PWG! Since he's been gone, Daniels has been forced to adapt his style of wrestling to match Homicide's intensity and unpredictability. But has he strayed far enough from his traditional wrestling roots to defeat the brawler from BedStuy? Or will The Fallen Angel be just another victim as Homicide continues to brutalize all opponents since making his return to PWG? ZERO1-MAX International Lightweight Tag Champions In Action! Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley vs. MDogg20 & Josh Prohibition "Classic" Colt Cabana vs. "Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon vs. Ronin Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All Star Weekend IV - Night One takes place at American Legion Post #308 on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 8:00PM. The American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Tickets are $25 each, or $40 for both nights, and will be available for pre-order online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com. ======================================================= With a blockbuster lineup like that in store for Night One, what could possibly be in store for Night Two? We're glad you asked. All Star Weekend IV - Night Two takes place on Saturday, November 18 at 4:00PM at American Legion Post 308 in Reseda, CA, and will feature: 4-Way PWG World Tag Team Title Match Super Dragon & B-Boy vs. Davey Richards & Roderick Strong vs. The Kings of Wrestling (Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero) vs. Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley - No matter who walks away from Night One with the PWG World Tag Team Titles, they will have to put the belts on the line less than 24 hours later! As if that weren't bad enough, add in a team getting a rematch, a pair of international tag team champions and a pair of the triple crown tag team champions and you have the most monumental PWG World Tag Team Title defense in company history! PWG World Championship Match Joey Ryan © vs. Quicksilver - When Joey Ryan attacked Quicksilver and put him out of action for 6 weeks, he may have forgotten just who exactly Quicksilver was friends with. Kneeling beside Quicksilver's hospital bed, Commissioner Dino Winwood swore he would have revenge for his fallen comrade, but just as Dino was storming out of the ICU for his date with destiny, Quicksilver awoke (from what Dino thought was a coma, but in reality was a mid afternoon nap) and talked some sense into the vengeful Commish. While the scene at All Star Weekend IV - Night Two may lack the narrative conventions of a motion picture, there will be drama, and there will be intrigue, and who knows; a victory for Quicksilver may spark a celebration that would make Thornton Melon jealous! Rocky Romero vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles - When these two met for the first time at PWG's One Year Anniversary show, "Reason For The Season," the set the bar even higher for the level of competition in PWG. Now both men have had two years to hone their craft and think about what they did right (in AJ Styles' case) and wrong (in Rocky Romero's case) and will now meet on the second night of All Star Weekend IV in what may end up being one of the most highly anticipated rematches in PWG history! El Generico vs. "The Man That Gravity Forgot" Pac Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) vs. MDogg20 & Josh Prohibition Homicide vs. Scorpio Sky (w/ Jade Chung) - When B-Boy asked him to watch his back at the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles, Homicide was a bit unsure of what to expect. But after The Dynasty denied Homicide a chance at reclaiming the PWG World Tag Team Titles, it became personal. Now Homicide embarks on a crusade of his own to dismantle The Dynasty, and unfortunately for Scorpio Sky, he's the first Dynasty member in the Notorious 187's sights. "Classic" Colt Cabana vs. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels Human Tornado (w/ Candice LeRae) vs. "Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams Jimmy Jacobs vs. Ronin Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's All Star Weekend IV - Night One takes place at American Legion Post #308 on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 4:00PM. The American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. Tickets are $25 each, or $40 for both nights, and will be available for pre-order online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com. ======================================================= Fans who pre-ordered their copies of the 2006 Battle of Los Angeles DVDs and chose the pick up option will be able to pick up the shows at either night of All Star Weekend IV. If you pre-ordered the DVDs for delivery either in person or online, you should receive your copies in about two weeks. You can still order your copy online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com.

PWG Presents All Star Weekend IV November 17 & 18!

One last ASW update from PWG regarding Josh Prohibitions injury: If you haven't heard already, Josh Prohibition will be unable to attend this weekend's All Star Weekend IV due to a broken thumb. We wish him all the best with his recovery, and hopefully his return to PWG will not be delayed any further. However, Prohibition's injury leaves MDogg20 without a partner, making the Burning River Brigade more of a solo act, and requiring changes to be made. On the first night of PWG's All Star Weekend IV, the ZERO1-MAX International Lightweight Tag Team Champions Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley will now take on the debuting tag team of Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black. Jacobs and Black have been given a huge opportunity to shine, and this could be a huge opportunity for them in PWG! That means that MDogg20 could potentially be the next stop on Ronin's Battle to the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles Tour (RBTT2007BOLAT). On the second night of All Star Weekend IV, Arik Cannon will take on Ronin, which was previously scheduled for night one. Also, MDogg20 will still face Arrogance (The Dynasty's Chris Bosh & Scott Lost), but he has found a partner who knows his opponents very well, none other than "The Future" Frankie Kazarian! Just as a reminder, fans who have pre-ordered their ASWIV tickets will receive priority admission to the venue at 7:15PM on Friday night, with General Admission starting at 7:30PM. Pre-order customers will be admitted at 3:15PM on Saturday, with General Admission starting at 3:30PM. I wasn't there, but I don't think Webb used "Teenage Dirtbag" as I have a feeling that song (and his great entrance) would be longer than any of the matches on the show. -
