They're the same people who put over the Homicide/B-Boy match as being a CZW MOTY candidate the next day after it happened when in reality it was a considerable letdown. I don't remember CZWFans.com pimping B-Boy Vs. Homicide as a MOTYC... It was good but that ending ruined it. Anyway... I think COD5 sounded great, and I'll be ordering the tape shortly. I don't like New Jack debuting for CZW though... he will probably burn that bridge in a few months and be doing "Shoot interviews" on Zandig in no time.

Believe me when Paul T. announced those teams live I was marking like a 13 year girl at a N'Sync concert. with all that talent If done correctly that tag tourney could be the greatest shows in recent memory anywhere. As for the show The Opener was very entertaining but short and the ending came out of nowhere. AXP Vs. Havana Pitbulls was fantastic. Excalibur Vs. Bosh was very fun... The AXP's heel turn afterwards was good too. Jardi/M-Dogg Vs. Ballard was also very fun. M-Dogg is amazing live. Samoa Joe Vs. BJ was good... but could have been better (though my friend hated it for some reason) The 6-man was freaking insane... too much good stuff to list. It ended with Pearce pinning Frankie after a Piledriver on the belt. Afterwards frankie was carted out on a table. Overall yeah it was a short but very solid though... can't wait for that tag tourney next month. Also, Michrome what did you think of the live crowd?

Why no thread about this? I remember last year everyone was talking about COD.. this year I don't even see a thread! CZW's biggest show of the year is this SATURDAY NIGHT! Viking Hall in Philly. Ruckus CZW TAG-TEAM #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH Z-Barr & Nick Berk VS Dirty Rotten Scoundrels VS Rebel's Army CZW IRON-MAN TITLE MATCH Jimmy Rave VS Trent Acid CZW JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH Jimmy Jacobs VS Sabian VS Derek Frazier CZW IRON-MAN TITLE #1 CONTENDERS' MATCH Chris Hero VS Alex Shelley VS Tony Mamaluke Vs B-Boy My predictions: The Hi-V Cash and Deranged Sonjay Dutt Berk and Barr Jimmy Rave Jimmy Jacobs Chris Hero On paper MAYBE one the best CZW cards I've seen... I was going to wait untill PWG put out a new press release before shilling this show but what the heck. PWG returns to the westside jewish center on 12/13/03 with the line up of: Phoenix Star vs. Zokre vs. PUMA (Aka Pinoy Boy) Jardi Frantz & MDogg 20 vs. Ballard Brothers (Shane & Shannon Ballard) Hair vs. Hair Match: Chris Bosh vs. Excalibur Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) Samoa Joe vs. BJ Whitmer Frankie Kazarian/CM Punk/Joey Ryan vs. Colt Cabana/Adam Pearce/Super Dragon Plus One more match! Pimpin' In High Places" takes place Saturday, December 13, 2003, at the Westside Jewish Community Center, at 8:00PM. The Westside Jewish Community Center is located at 5870 West Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036. Tickets are $18, available online at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com, at the Alternative Wrestling Shop, or by mail (PWG Tickets, PO Box 1527, Temple City, CA 91780. Certified checks or money orders only, please.) For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected] " Ok just so this isn't a blind shill.. there are my thoughts and predictions: Phoenix Star vs. Zokre vs. PUMA: Thoughts: Should be excellent lucha style contest as all 3 work very well together. This could very well steal the show... Prediction: Zorke Jardi Frantz & MDogg 20 vs. Ballard Brothers (Shane & Shannon Ballard) Thoughts: Odd match on paper. As Jardi is replacing M-Dogg's regular tag partner Josh Prohibition who is out injuried. Should be interesting to see how these 2 teams blend in the ring. Prediction: Ballard Brothers Hair vs. Hair Match: Chris Bosh vs. Excalibur Thoughts: Looking forward to this one, as this feud has been brewing since PWG's debut show where Excalibur legit knocked Bosh out with a Lariat. Bosh then got a measure of revenge by damn near breaking Excalibur's neck with a lariat of his own on 10/04/03. Then Bosh further messed with Excalibur by serving as a special ref for Team Chismo Vs. X-Foundation on 11/15/03 and screwing Excalibur out of a sure victory. What all this has to do with a Hair Vs. Hair match I don't know (especially since Excalibur is masked!) but this should be a fitting end to a good feud. Prediction: Bosh gets a hair cut. Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Havana Pitbulls (Ricky Reyes & Rocky Romero) Thoughts: One of the matches I'm most looking forward too, This will be an awesome tag match As two of SoCal's top teams meet for the first time. It'll be interesting to see how this plays into PWG's big 16 team tag tourney in Jan 04. Prediction: Havana Pitbulls Samoa Joe vs. BJ Whitmer Thoughts: If you've seen these two in ROH you know what to expect. Look for a great match.. Prediction: Samoa Freaking Joe. Frankie Kazarian/CM Punk/Joey Ryan vs. Colt Cabana/Adam Pearce/Super Dragon Thoughts: The PWG Mega Powers Explode! Should be a wild match here when 6 of PWG's best mix it up. Things to look for: Number 1 contender Adam Pearce getting his hands on PWG Champion Kazarian, SD and Ryan continuing what has been the 2003 SoCal Feud of the year and Super Dragon and CM Punk meeting for the first time ever! Should be one to watch to say the very least. Prediction: I gotta think Pearce will pin Kazarian here, setting up a big title match next year. Plus one more match: Don't know what to expect here only probably not Disco Machine (who is hurt) Scott Lost (who is in Mexico) TARO (retiring) or B-Boy (who is working CZW: COD5, that reminds me how come no one is shilling that show here? come on it's CZW's Wrestlemania!) Anything could happen with this one though (ok so it'll probably be Top Gun Talwar Vs. someone but is that really so bad? Have you seen that guy? He's a WWE Grade Hoss!) There it is, I hope this at least made one person more hyped about PWG. if in the area attend this show! Heck, Make it a class field trip! Bring a few a few friends! Have a family reunion! What better christmas gift then a night of PWG action! ok that was lame... or if not in the area, buy one of PWG's DVD/VHS releases at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or www.SmartMarkVideo.com For up to date PWG news and results check out: SoCaluncensored.com and PWG's fan site: www.PWGFans.com (which has several great interviews) Ok sorry about the super-shill here, I just really want this fed to succeed. thanks for reading...

That's what happened to a friend of mine. His storage bin was "broken into" (but we knew the bitch he shared it with stole them) and all his CDs (about 500 of them) came up missing! But what do we see in the local used CD store a month later? Alot of his CDs! (the stuff no one else would like and rare imports/bootlegs and such) so he bit the bullet and bought alot of them back. He never did anything about the theft though.. which is surprising. If that were me I would have gone on a murderous rampage or something. Anyway, That sucks... it looks like you had some good stuff there. Did your CDs have the cases with them? Because if they were just the caseless CDs I doubt they'd be able to sell them for anything.

I can't stand Ozzy's family. Can't someone tell them to just go away? No one cares anymore. Your 15 minutes are up just take it and move on.

CZW Cage of Death 5 this Saturday in Philly!
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
As for the extra member (Adam Flash) That can be explained as they didn't know if Kashemere was going to return to CZW. So they went ahead and added Flash to fill out the Hi-V for the COD match. But once Kashmere returned they couldn't just all of a sudden dump him for no reason. and besides I also never thought of the Hi-V meaning "5" members... it's just a name. -

Geeze... Yes I do think it is one of the best I've seen (maybe not THE best but up there) I know some of it looks a little suspect (3-way tag) and the booking wanders away from normal logic... but really match wise all the ingredients for an awesome show are there. I'm thinking this will turn out to be one of the best CZW shows ever (How's that for blind optimism?) -
My god... I thought this was just a nicely layed out joke... but it's real? This will be comic gold.. but why is the WWE wasting time on this crap? Should they be.. um retooling their on-air product rather than having Rikishi sing about his ass.

Ugh, the rumors of a SoCal promotion on TV lead to this? the comedy lucha fed? Well... still sounds ok though. I'll be watching...

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla "Pimpin' In High Places"
PsychoDriver replied to PsychoDriver's topic in General Wrestling
Here's PWG new press release from SoCalUncensored.com... with the announcement of the release of their new DVD! "PWG's "An Inch" DVD & "Pimpin' In High Places"! By Silverback, PWG Staff Writer El Centro, California - Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is proud to announce our latest collaboration with American Typewriter and Staple Co. has resulted in the release of "An Inch Longer Than Average," PWG's latest show, on DVD, and it is available right now! For only a $19.99 investment (plus $3.95 shipping + handling,) you, fan of professional wrestling, are able to experience the entire event, uncut, plus DVD commentary by Disco Machine & Excalibur (The Bill Walton & John Madden of professional wrestling announcing,) skits, and a very candid Shoot Interview with none other than "Fly Daddy" Jardi Frantz! After the deluge of positive feedback from the Joey Ryan and Rick Knox Shoot Interviews, the PWG staff was stumped by who was next? Who is interesting enough that people will want to sit through a 5 minute segment on the DVD to hear what they have to say? Surely, not someone like Colt Cabana. I mean, what interesting things could he POSSIBLY have to say? But like a wisp of smoke, the answer came to the PWG staff. Jardi Frantz, a controversial individual to begin with, shares his views on wrestling, the United States of America, and even his love life. This may be the most important event in professional wrestling history. The event which will eclipse sliced bread as the greatest innovation of mankind is also set to occur, this Saturday, when PWG presents "Pimpin' In High Places," December 13, at 8PM at the Westside Jewish Community Center! This event features: Phoenix Star vs. Puma vs. Zokre, Jardi Frantz & MDogg 20 vs. The Ballard Brothers, The Aerial Express vs. The Havana Pitbulls, HAIR vs. HAIR: Chris Bosh vs. Excalibur, BJ Whitmer vs. Samoa Joe, and Frankie Kazarian/CM Punk/Joey Ryan vs. Colt Cabana/Super Dragon/Adam Pearce! All for only $18!! To purchase the "Inch Longer Than Average" DVD, you can visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.co...rch_dvd_004.htm, order by regular mail (by sending a Certified Check or Money Order for $23.94 to PO Box 1527 Temple City, CA 91780,) or pick up a copy at "Pimpin' In High Places" this weekend! "Pimpin' In High Places", which takes place Saturday, December 13, 2003, at the Westside Jewish Community Center, with doors opening at 7:30PM and 8:00PM belltime. The Westside Jewish Community Center is located at 5870 West Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90036. Tickets are $18, and will be available at the door. For more information, please visit http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com or email [email protected]." -
I think the reason Joey Ryan didn't the belt is because he's part of the booking team and it'd maybe take some crediblity away from the title if someone booked themself to win the belt (you reading John Zandig?) Just a theory though... Maybe I need to watch more NWA-TNA Kazarian matches but based on what I've seen, I do like Frankie's work alot (since his UPW "Evolution" days with Nova) he is a very solid wrestler. Check out his match with a American Dragon from 11/15/03 maybe another carry job but still an excellent match.
-
Ah, that's probably it... I haven't really seen much of his NWA-TNA work. But most everything I've seen him do in SoCal has been excellent though
-
Nice... glad to see your opinion of SD Vs. Ryan has raised. What does everyone have against Frankie Kazarian though?

Rey or Paul London

WWE plans "Escape the Rules" ad campaign
PsychoDriver replied to DerangedHermit's topic in The WWE Folder
Ugh, boy does that sound destined for a quick painful death. Did they actually pay someone to come up with that? -
Good movie... kinda pointless but still good. It could have used some "Egg Head"! Vincent Price was egg-quisite in that role.
-
Good review. I liked it... hope to see more PWG reviews in the future.
-
I think he means the "over-analyzing" some people do for ROH that gets annoying. Constructive criticism is always cool though. Anyway well, The Debut show was abit of a mess. It did seem a little cursed as Samoa Joe and Jardi Frantz got injuried. Havana Pitbulls/Quance/Pinoy/B-Boy all took other bookings, various others canceled and no showed. Plus Chris Bosh got knocked out which ruined that match... knowing the backstory it still turned out ok but not nearly as good as it could have been but I personally loved the all the other shows though, "An Inch Longer Than Avarage" probably most of all. As for annoying PWG fans, It could be worst. On some GSCW tapes you can hardly pay attention to the match due to all the fans yelling things. PWG fans have never been that bad.. all in all PWG has a good group of fans that sometimes can really help out the show (you really notice this live)
-
I'd have to disagree with some of that. I thought SD Vs. Ryan was excellent in many ways, It told a nice story and everything was done for a reason. It just worked and succeeded in getting Ryan over and building the feud. Also True, the 3-way does not compare to the ROH ones... but what 3-way does? As far as Crowd heat goes... The SoCal crowds are tough to explain. As sometimes they are really really loud (see SD Vs. Taro from RevPro 11/29/03) sometimes they are respectfully silent (see Punk Vs. Joe - 11/15/03) and sometimes they are just screaming morons (See most EPIC matches) It may not always come through on the tapes but the heat IS there. Anyway, hope you enjoy seeing the 12/13 show live because half the fun of PWG is the live experience. Bring a few friends too because PWG can use all the people they can get....
-
That is true (especially with BBoy/SD Vs. Briscoes) but at least you have the option of turning it off. Unlike other wrestling commentary
-
Yeah, Even though I enjoyed the commentary on the first DVD more... it's still damn funny. The Lucha Libre Drinking Game is really freaking funny. ARM DRAG!
-
That's cool to see them expand so quickly. Hopefully they run an LA show in the near future.
-
Tape? CZW Night of Infamy 2 DVD? A Bunch of the cheap WWF ones from Walgreens
-
Say what you want about Jackson, But who really thought "Number Ones" would do that well anyway? Afterall it is a "Best of" album not the big comeback album alot of news reporters make it out to be. I mean he already released a few "Best Ofs" years ago... anyone who wants this material probably already owns it in some other form.
