PWG All Star Weekend, April 1-2

Hate to give a cop out answer but really ALL of the shows since "Ooze" have been incredible, and are all "Must buys" IMO. Especially look into "Uncanny X-mas"

PWG All Star Weekend, April 1-2

(Unofficial) PWG: All Star Weekend Preview by Paul Newberry and Jay Doring. Hello and welcome to yet another (Unofficial) PWG preview! Yes, despite popular demand, this damn thing is back! Now previewing such an aw-inspiring event is such a difficult task, that I had to do what any serious previewing master would do... delegate! Yes, helping me out with this preview once again will be PCN's own Jay Doring! (Bet he’s sorry he didn’t think of a cool fake name too) Who will be contributing his thoughts on several of the matches to help give you a different minded perspective on the upcoming card (and plus he's paying me in Dragon Gate tapes to let him! Score!) On with the preview: Once in a great while, we are privileged to experience an event so extraordinary, it becomes part of our shared heritage. 1969: Man walks on the moon. 1971: Man walks on the moon... again. Then, for a long time, nothing happened... That is until... April 1st 2005! When Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is set present the first night of it's biggest event of all time, ALL STAR WEEKEND! Where wrestling’s elite converge on Southern California for two crazy nights filled to brim with action, excitement, romance, intrigue, Gerard Depardieu, adventure, drama and the highest quality wrestling action known to man, woman or Rosie O'Donnell! Now let’s (unofficially) run down the matches for this historic night! Chris Hero vs. Chris Sabin Last Time: At "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" Chris Sabin made his debut in PWG, and wasted no time in making an impact (and surprising everyone with his huge enormous-monster pop) as he scored an impressive win over Ricky Reyes. Now at PWG’s All Star Weekend Night One, he'll be looking to capitalize on his victory, but to do that… he’ll have to get past Chris Hero… Chris Hero has met with mixed success in his PWG tenure. In his debut, he and partner CM Punk were able to reach the semi-finals of The Tango and Cash Invitational (before falling to the eventual winners) After several months, Chris Hero returned as a singles competitor at “The Next Show” where he came up short in a stellar singles match against Super Dragon (perhaps distracted by his run in with Virgil prior to the event). Two months Hero returned to PWG and was able to score what could be the last clean victory over Austin Aries you’ll see in some time at PWG’s “Uncanny X-Mas” From there Hero moved on to major match with top PWG title contender American Dragon at “Card Subject to change, where he again was defeated in a close contest. Now on April 1st at All Star Weekend, Chris Hero will have to fight not only for his right to his right to party, but also Chris Sabin if he hopes to maintain his spot in the PWG title rankings and work his way back up to a shot at Super Dragon’s PWG Title. Past History They've worked together in numerous promotions, however I cannot find proof that they have ever had a match together (least not according to Chris Hero’s huge match logs) PWG Records Chris Hero is 3-3 overall, 1-2 as a single; Chris Sabin is 1-0 My Thoughts: Let’s meet this year's Eastern Conferance All-stars! Chris Hero, a long and agile big man who likes to attack the rim. Uses his size and long arms to score and rebound in the post. Like to block shots and is very aggressive on both ends of the floor. Has a good work ethic and has drastically improved his game from his junior to senior year. His basketball intelligence on both ends of the floor is simply phenomenal. Whatever you teach him, he is going to pick it up like a sponge and go with it, from traditional American, to “strong style” to that freaky ass European style…. Chris Hero can do it all and do it with ease. Chris Sabin, a tremendous athlete who thrives in the open court. An awesome finisher on the break and will take the ball strong to the hoop. Is a fabulous rebounder and has become a very unselfish player. Has shown the ability to score in a plethora of ways, possesses an uncanny knack for putting the ball on the floor and driving past his defender. Oops wrong All Star Weekend! Eh ok… I’ll let Jay handle this one… . Jay’s Thoughts: One of the most intriguing matches on the card, as the “man of 1,000 cravates (and countries)” takes on one of the symbols of TNA’s X-Division. Strangely, Chris Hero and Chris Sabin have never met 1-on-1 in the ring before, despite the fact that Sabin has popped up frequently in Hero’s home promotion, IWA-Mid South. Even more interesting, Hero said some less-than-complimentary things about Sabin in his Smart Mark Video shoot interview, and any heat that exists between the two men may bleed into the match. The match up itself is odd, in terms of style. Hero is known mainly for his mat-based and striking work, and Sabin is almost entirely known for the “X-Division” style. However, I think this just may impress. Sabin by all reports had a great match with Ricky Reyes, a wrestler with a style similar to Hero’s, at the Ernest P. Worrell Memorial. Hero also had several of his best matches of 2004 in PWG (with Super Dragon and Austin Aries) and tends to work best against opponents with unorthodox styles (watch his excellent IWA matches with JC Bailey and Steve Stone as examples). Other than the PWG championship match on this card, this one is easiest to predict. Sabin was brought in specifically to cram more “name talent” onto this card, and Hero is hopefully becoming a semi-regular and possibly become a PWG championship contender. Hero takes it, but it will be a heck of a ride on the way there. Prediction: Chris wins it… err Chris Hero I should say. International showdown Jonny Storm vs. Petey Williams Past History: Singles match on 8/22/04 for Japan’s Wrestle-Aid Project, Also Jonny Storm Vs. Petey Williams Vs. Chris Sabin Vs. SPUD- TWC UK Super show - 3-19-05 PWG Records: Jonny Storm is 0-3 overall, Petey Williams will be making his PWG debut Shooter Jay's Thoughts: PWG has truly treated their fans to the best talent from all around the world with the first night of All Star Weekend, the first example being this contest between the hottest cruiserweights from England and Canada, respectively. “The Wonderkid” Jonny Storm is possibly the most underrated performer anywhere in the world, Arguably the top star in Britain right now (along with Doug Williams), the multi-time FWA All-England champion became a US sensation overnight at CZW’s second “Best of the Best” tournament, putting on the promotion’s Match of the Year with his UK archrival “The Phoenix” Jody Fleisch. Storm quickly capitalized on his newfound US acclaim, making stops in XPW (where he won their European briefcase, erm, belt), IWA-MS (where he appeared in the 2003 Ted Petty Invitational) along with a return to the Combat Zone (most recently tagging with Alex Shelley at Cage of Death 6). Of course, Storm is no stranger to PWG fans either. He tagged with Excalibur against Super Dragon and American Dragon in the Tango and Cash Invitational, in what many fans called the best match of the tournament, and recently came up short in a brutal PWG title match against Super D at “Uncanny X-Mas.” Storm is hungry to pick up his first victory in PWG and prove his worth to the SoCal fans, but he faces stiff competition in Petey Williams. A trainee of Scott D’Amore, Petey came out of nowhere and seemingly racked up dozens of championships overnight. The former TNA X-Division champion and IWA-Mid South Heavyweight champion, and the current EWR Heavyweight title holder, has laid waste to his opposition with his signature “Canadian Destroyer” flip piledriver, a move that has to be seen to be believed (or disbelieved, depending on who you ask.) Storm and Williams have managed to cross paths twice on their various globetrotting adventures. Williams defeated Storm in a hotly contested tourney match for the PPW Junior Heavyweight title in Japan’s “Wrestle-Aid” promotion (which Petey went on to win) and faced off in a 4way at The Wrestling Channel’s “International Showdown” where Petey took out TNA rival Chris Sabin with the Canadian Destroyer. Normally, I’d say Storm takes it here, since he’s the man with the prior PWG experience. However, when people see a Petey Williams match, they DEMAND the Canadian Destroyer, and in addition it’s the most protected finisher on the Indies – ALMOST NO ONE has been able to kick out of it. Petey HAS to do the move, and thus HAS to win the match. Petey not doing the move would be like Santa stopping by your house at Christmas, eating your cookies, drinking your milk but not leaving you any presents! Regardless of the outcome though, this match will feature tons of death-defying, jaw-dropping spots, and as the likely opener, will set the pace for a spectacular All-Star Weekend. Prediction: Petey Williams INTERNATIONAL SHOWDOWN… ah… again! The Havana Pitbulls vs. Puma and Kendo Ka Shin A bunch of stuff that happened: At “Uncanny X-mas” The Pitbulls were robbed of a victory and The PWG Tag team titles after the Aerial Express interfered in their match with Arrogance. This heated issue spilled over to PWG’s “Card Subject to Change” as The Havana Pitbulls battled the Aerial Express for the chance to become the #1 contenders to the PWG Tag Team titles. After a heated brawl (which spanned the entire building!) the AXP were able to out fox the Pitbulls as Scorpio Sky used the ropes for leverage and stole a win (only the 2nd pin fall loss for the Pitbulls in PWG) PUMA (currently undefeated in his last six PWG appearances) makes his first PWG appearance since November as he now joins up with the winner of the 1999 NJPW Best Of The Super Junior Tournament, the highly decorated Kendo Ka Shin to go against his friends and “Dangerous Players” stable-mates The Havana Pitbulls. The Pitbulls need this win if they ever hope to receive another shot at the PWG Tag team titles, and PUMA needs this win to get out of the Pitbull’s shadow and truly establish himself on his own in PWG. It all goes down, then back up... then down again, April 1st at ALL STAR WEEKEND! Be there! Past History: Rocky Romero Vs. Kendo KaShin - AWS 3-19-05, Havana Pitbulls and PUMA of course have a ton of history together (I have the Polaroid’s to prove it) PWG Records Ricky Reyes is 9-7 overall, Rocky Romero is 5-4 overall, 5-3 as a duo, PUMA is 13-3 Overall in PWG. (But the impressive thing is that PUMA is 11-1 as a single wrestler defeating Vito, Zokre/Phoenix Star (in a 3-way) Chuck Mercury, Black Tigers, Ricky Reyes, Tony Kozina, Brad Bradley, Josh Prohibition, Top Gun Talwar, UK Kid and Tony Stradlin… with the one loss coming to Robert Quance) Kendo Kashin of course will be making his PWG Debut. Fun Fact: The second PWG match ever announced was Havana Pitbulls Vs. Pinoy Boy (PUMA) and Bobby "In The Navy" Quance. However due to scheduling conflicts, the match was canceled. This is probably the closest we’ll get to ever seeing that match, unless the Pitbulls and PUMA all join the Navy somehow and the Navy started it’s own wrestling promotion… which is possible I guess. Jay's Thoughts: The other match on All-Star Weekend with international flava, this one really raised my eyebrows when I saw it announced. The Pitbulls, teaming together in PWG for the first time since “Card Subject to change” step into the Gorilla against their former Habana Bros. and Dangerous Players stablemate PUMA. This one is rife, and I mean, RIFE with tension. Of the two Pitbulls, Romero has gone onto more acclaim- it was ROMERO who appeared in last year’s NJPW Best of the Super Juniors tourney, it was ROMERO who won the CMLL Super Lightweight title and the Toryumon Young Dragon’s Cup in the same weekend, and It was ROMERO who got the ROH title shot against Samoa Joe at ROH “Gold.” What has Reyes done, other than headline a third-rate promotion in Covina, be the bitch in a recent Zero One-MAX tour, and struck out on a rather unspectacular PWG singles career? Reyes may in fact be jealous of Romero’s success and pissed off that his partner hung him out to dry in PWG…could we see the seeds planted for a Rottweilers breakup at All Star Weekend? On the other hand, things aren’t exactly sunny on the other side of the ring. PUMA, who has appeared recently for New Japan in their Young Lion’s Cup tourney, is teaming with Kendo Ka Shin, a man who earned infamy on the puro scene by screwing over NJPW and jumping to All Japan while still the NJPW junior champ. Ka Shin then went on a tear in AJPW, embarking on a massive winning streak and holding the AJPW junior belt for 2 years (with one of his only losses coming at the hands of JIMMY RAVE~! – sorry, I had to work that in somewhere.) As a result, promotional pride may greatly hamper any cohesion in the two matches the two men may have. Both teams, just like pre-World War I Europe, are a powder keg ready to explode, and this match could easily degenerate into chaos. Recent history doesn’t seem to indicate a favorite in this match either –PUMA holds a victory over Reyes in PWG, and his stellar record in PWG shows he is a clutch performer. However, Romero recently defeated the accomplished Ka Shin at the last AWS show, albeit via nefarious means. In any case, since the Pitbulls and Ka Shin both work extremely similar styles, and it’s always loads of fun to see PUMA get the shit beat out of him, I could easily see this match hitting the **** level and becoming a gem for those wacky tape geeks (me included) to immediately, spend the money we could be spending on cheap prostitutes, to see- and I’m sure that’s exactly what PWG wants (they don’t want us hogging the hookers, after all.) Prediction Havana Pitbulls TNA X-Division Championship Match Christopher Daniels © vs. Alex Shelley Backstory: For the first time ever, Alex Shelley will receive his shot at the TNA X-division crown, an opportunity TNA never actually granted him during his stay in that promotion. This will be Shelley’s chance to get back at the promotion that utilized him and held him back from superstardom (even cost him a shot to go to Japan because of some phantom TNA booking) Will Shelley succeed in getting back at the promotion who wronged him? Or will “The Fallen Angel” title reign live on? Find out April 1st! I pity the fool who miss this one! Past History: First time meeting I believe PWG Records Christopher Daniels is 6-7 overall and 5-4 in singles matches, Alex Shelley is 1-0 overall. Jay's Thoughts: To paraphrase famous philosopher Will Smith, this is the battle between the old hotness and the new hotness. Christopher Daniels, seemingly since the age of the mighty tyrannosaurus, has been touted as the hottest unsigned prospect in professional wresting. His intriguing "Fallen Angel" character (and wacked-out Curry Man alter ego), combined with stellar promos and even better ringwork led many to wonder why, outside of a short stint in WCW, he's never hit the bigtime. When ROH and TNA both came into existence in 2002, Christopher Daniels at last got the chance to shine on a larger stage. Daniels carried Ring of Honor's main angles for much of its first two years admirably, and in TNA he was part of the coolest (well, the only cool) stable they had, Triple X. Daniels kept producing classic after classic after classic, and the fans couldn't get enough. Daniels arguably hit the peak of his career last year, when he won the IWGP junior heavyweight tag team titles with American Dragon. Then, something most unexpected happened- Daniels' career as a headline talent was derailed, by the very company that helped bring him to the next level. TNA invoked a clause in his contract that allowed them to control his outside bookings- specifically, they were telling him not to work Ring of Honor anymore. Also, because they were running weekly Impact! tapings (at the time) AND PPVs, apparently it meant no more Japan either. Daniels all but disappeared from the Indy scene, outside of sporadic appearances in PWG (where he's lost to Bobby Quance and Tony Stradlin at recent events), and a couple of high-profile matches in Canada's EWR. Sure, he was 3PW Heavyweight champion, but who really gives a flying fuck about them? (Editors note: 3PW = BURNED!) Luckily for Daniels-deprived indy fans, another savior was on the way, a man appropriately named, "The Next" : Alex Shelley. Shelley first gained some attention in IWA Mid-South, as a fiery babyface putting on a series of classic, heated matches with Jimmy Jacobs. However, Shelley didn't totally hit his stride until he turned heel in that feud, and his true persona of a trash talking, egotistical jock came through. ROH immediately took note and made him a centerpiece of their "Generation NeXt" stable, essentially replacing Daniels' "Prophecy" as the headline group. Soon, EVERY promotion came calling: TNA, CZW (where he won their junior heavyweight title briefly), and finally PWG, where he debuted at "All Nude Revue," with a win over El Generico. Shelley, as he promised in ROH, succeeded in "taking the top spots" -especially, as he hinted, the spot of Christopher Daniels. Daniels, unable to get his hands on Shelley in the foreseeable future in ROH, is no doubt dying to get his hands on "The Alienist" for the first time ever in PWG, and prove that he's still better than everyone's new golden boy. However, an "X" factor is thrown into this match, literally. Daniels is now the holder of the TNA X-Division championship, a belt he recently won at their 'Destination X" PPV. Shelley, coincidentally, was recently let go by that same company. As we all know, because of this the possibility of a clean Shelley victory is remote. However, wouldn't it be awesome if Shelley won it and stuck it good to Jeff Jarrett and co.? Yes, yes it would, but it ain't happening. Daniels retains, and proves he's still got his mojo. Prediction: Christopher Daniels retains 6-man grudge match <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) & Frankie Kazarian vs. Arrogance (Chris Bosh, Scott Lost, & Joey Ryan</span> The Saga Continues (read my last preview for the first part of the story): At "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" Frankie Kazarian was determined to destroy the monster he’d created, and finally win back his fans by taking out Arrogance once and for all. And Kazarian seemed to have picked the perfect partner to help him carry out his mission, as he brought back JOEY RYAN! a beloved PWG fan favorite with a huge score of his own to settle with Scott Lost. Things appeared to be going Ryan and Kazarian’s way, until the closing minutes of the contest. As the referee was tending to the injured Scott Lost on the floor. Joey Ryan had grabbed a chair and was prepared to use it on Chris Bosh, and he’d have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you snoopin' kids! Err actually Frankie Kazarian not wanting to have to rely on shortcuts anymore snatched the chair away from Ryan. Which angered Joey and an argument between the two ensued. Allowing Chris Bosh enough time to take the chair and bend it over Joey Ryan’s head with sickening precision! Leading to an easy pin fall on Joey. Once again Arrogance had escape with the titles… Then a hush fell over the crowd, when Joey Ryan (who’d just returned from a 6 month absence after post concussion syndrome) didn’t get up. As PWG Officials and random guys rushed to his aid… the fans feared the worst… Joey was able to make it back up to his feet with the help of Kazarian, and everything appeared to be fine, until Joey Ryan shocked the entire planet as he hit with a low blow out of nowhere! Joey went on to proclaim that he’d been held back for too long by the fans and by people like Kazarian… trying to get him to “Do the right thing” (The Spike Lee movie I’m guessing) and where did that get him? Sitting on his couch for 6 months eating Cheetos (not even real cheetos, the GENERIC kind! Which didn’t at all sit well with the official Cheeto loving Frankie Kazarian) and listening to the fans also cost him his best friend, Scott Lost. Joey Ryan then swallowed his pride and asked Scott Lost for forgiveness. And with that one of the most successful tandems in SoCal history had reunited, and with Chris Bosh added into the mix… PWG had just bared witness to the birth of a new triumvirate to contend with. Joey Ryan, PWG’s conscience (you could argue that he was the heart and soul of the promotion) had that turned his back on the fans that had always believed in him (but fan support isn’t everything, I mean Led Zeppelin didn't write tunes everybody liked. They left that to the Bee Gees dude!) Now in order to combat this new force, Frankie Kazarian has recruited Arrogance’s top rivals, The Aerial Express (whom Arrogance twice cheated out of the tag titles in the past via their underhanded chicanery) to join him in his quest for retribution upon their common foes! Now the match is made, April 1st 2005 at PWG’s All Star Weekend, Will Kazarian’s final mission in PWG prove successful? Or will Arrogance once again rule the day? Six men will enter… but only… umm six men will leave! BE THERE! Past History numerous meetings... so numerous in fact, I won't even begin to list them all. But here's 9 fun Facts! (cuz the man won't let me have 10!) 1.Frankie Kazarian defeated both Scott Lost and Joey Ryan in the Bad Ass Mother 3000 Tournament. 2. Joey Ryan holds singles victories over both members of the AXP in PWG 3. Joey Ryan and Chris Bosh have teamed up before in AWS 4. Mr. Belvedere never should have been canceled (that show had a good 5 more years left in it) 5. Chris Bosh and Quicksilver are former PWG Tag Team Champions (winning the belts from Joey Ryan and Scott Lost! Small world eh?) 6. Scott Lost toured Osaka Pro wrestling in Japan with Scorpio Sky last summer Aerial Express, Chris Bosh, Joey Ryan and Scott Lost were apart of 10-man “Guerrilla Games” match 7. Chris Bosh and Quicksilver have been apart of the same match 11 times in PWG 8. When Pizza’s on a bagel you can have pizza anytime. 9. I lied, these facts weren't really "fun" so to speak PWG Records Joey Ryan is overall 10-14 overall, Scott Lost is 16-8 overall, Chris Bosh is 11-9, Frankie Kazarian is 15-7-1, Quicksilver is 9-9, and Sky is 8-9. Combined the participants in this match have held My Thoughts: Just like nobody ever expects the Spanish Inquisition, nobody ever expected Joey Ryan’s heel turn last show (I’ve heard that after the word of Ryan’s dastardly actions hit the streets, the suicide rate for “MySpace.com” rats everywhere had jumped by an astonishing 6%! Oh... the... humanity) I haven’t seen Joey Ryan play the heel that often, maybe only a few scattered instances (AWS, RevPro and a tad bit in EPIC) So it’ll be highly fascinating to see how Joey Ryan plays this one. Regardless, it is a welcomed sight to see Joey back on the active roster… even if he does eat generic cheetos (which taste like refried crap by the way, cheese is always the first thing to suffer when any food item is cheaply made. Trust me, I’ve seen the entire run of “Three’s Company” and Jack Tripper never lies… well except to Mr. Roper about his sexuality… but that’s a whole other story) His partners: Scott Lost and Chris Bosh have fast become my favorite team to watch. It’s amazing that a team with such a limited time teaming together could have the tag team continuity they’ve displayed (dig dem’ krazy backs breakers!) Bosh and Lost, have this bizarre chemistry, that’s difficult to explain and man does it ever work! Chris Bosh in particular has really stepped up his game on a lot of levels as of late. Not only in ring, but also on the mic, with his insanely hilarious character, and with Scott Lost playing a perfect Bud Abbott to Bosh’s Lou Costello. They’ve fast become the highlight of every PWG show in which they appear! (Which is every freaking show!) You never know just what they are going to do or which minority group they will offend next! Perhaps it’ll be yours! On the other side we have: Frankie Kazarian: Now as we all know, Frankie recently signed a deal with a major Connecticut base wrestling promotion, and his days in PWG are numbered (literally numbered somehow) And I’m really going to miss seeing Frankie after he finally makes his way into the hallowed gates of “McMahon Land”. He’s been a cornerstone in PWG since day one, and his presence will be greatly missed. If you are a WWE fan new to PWG, this could be last your chance to witness “The Future” Frankie Kazarian in his natural habitat before he moves into the realm of the 5-minute squash match. Hopefully Frankie gets a fitting send off here…. His partners: For you WWE fans planning on attending this event, let me let you in on a little secret… first of all Vince McMahon sells poison milk to school children and second of all… real tag teams do exist! They are not just a myth created to sell toothpaste as you’ve been told! And you’ll experience one first hand after you experience The Aerial Express (Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver) Yes, you’d be hard pressed to find a more cohesive unit going today. A true “tag team” in every sense of the word. Expect to witness, amazing high-flying brilliance, and astonishing tandem offense with just a dash of comedic mastery thrown in for good measure! After you witness a real tag team operate, be prepared to say “Wow… I’ve never seen Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki do that before!” (Though you can honestly say that after every match that isn’t horrible) Ok, yeah I’m not a WWE fan… sue me. ANYWAY as for the match itself, I noticed it is often getting lost in shuffle when people discuss All Star Weekend (which is usually limited to just OMG11!!! JAMIE NoblE! I need a wet nap) but really… this is a match to look out for. Consider the experience amongst the competitors for one, For instance Arrogance and The AXP have been apart of two of the most entertaining tag matches in PWG’s history, and they always have some new tricks up their sleeves or possibly some other area in which tricks maybe kept! Also interesting to note, is that this will be the first teaming between the former “X-Foundation” in many months, and we all know how accomplished they were as a tag team. Now throw Frankie Kazarian into mix (a major component in that amazing Pimpin’ In High Places 6-man) and you’ve got yourself quite the contest! This one is my pick to be the sleeper match of the night! I guess what I'm really trying to say is that this match should be totally trippendicular to the max!!!!! Don’t miss it… k? Prediction: Frankie Kazarian and The Aerial Express take this one, perhaps leading to Kazarian Vs. Ryan and AXP Vs. Arrogance on ASW Night 2. American Dragon vs. James Gibson (WWE’s Jamie Noble) Last Time: At "Card Subject to change" American Dragon recovered nicely from his defeat at the big Samoan hands of Samoa Joe the show before and was able to score a big victory over Chris Hero. This time American Dragon was set to reenter PWG to face a man he knows very well, Mel Gibson Star of “Man without a face”! This truly would be an ALL STAR WEEKEND with Mel now involved! Unfortunately, we’ve since learned that Mel Gibson will NOT be in attendance, and is not, in fact not a trained professional wrestler. However as luck would have it, a suitable replacement Gibson just happened to be on stand by, which is none other than JAMES GIBSON (Better known as Jamie “By God” Noble!) A former WWE Cruiserweight champion! Who has been really coming into his own on the scene lately, via several highly impressive performances in promotions such as NJPW, ROH and FIP. Now at All Star Weekend, he will invade PWG for the first time… The last time these two met in another promotion, they fought to a highly acclaimed 15- minute draw. Now, on April 1st at PWG’s ALL STAR WEEKEND these two warriors of the ring will do battle with NO time limits, Vince McMahon or Mel Gibson to hold them back. They are free to do what they do best and that’s produce the highest quality wrestling on the scene today! We could... scratch that we WILL be in for a modern today wrestling classic! Past History Met a few times, once on WWE Velocity in January 2003, and again in NJPW-USA in December 2004 (which ended in an unsatisfying 15 minute draw) PWG Records American Dragon is 9-3-1 overall, 5-2-1 as a single, Jamie San will be making his PWG Debut. Shooter Jay's Thoughts: If there is one man who epitomizes the word “All Star” on this PWG card, it’s James Gibson. The former Jamie Noble will without a doubt be the biggest name ever to compete in a PWG ring, and the former WCW star and WWE cruiserweight champion will square off against New Japan superstar Bryan Danielson in a wrestling purist’s dream match. Sure, they’ve already faced off once for NJPW-USA, but that match was a mere 15-minute draw, and while it was praised in some circles, those same circles would praise American Dragon for his “tight psychology” if they witnessed him taking a shit. They also worked a match against each other on Velocity, but yo, that’s that wack WWE shite D00D. When these two stand across from the ring in the Guerrilla, they’ll have all the time in they world to do what they do do, hep cat. If you’re undecided about going to the All Star Weekend shows after seeing the rest of the card, (and if you aren’t I question your very soul) THIS is the match that should sell you on it for good. First off, you get to see a big time SUPASTAH up close, and also happens to be one of the top junior heavyweights in the world. The second is, guess what, he’s wrestling one of the OTHER best juniors in the world, and his tag team partner in New Japan! This one will be covered in more snowflakes then Canada in January, and will be one of those captivating matches you’ll remember for years and years –so GO DAMN YOU! As far as a prediction goes, American Dragon is the heavy favorite in my book. His PWG singles record is sterling (with his only singles losses at the hands of Frankie Kazarian and Samoa Joe) and this may be Jamie’s only appearance in PWG for the foreseeable future. A big win over a megastar like Noble would easily catapult AmDrag into PWG title contention and possibly improve his already rising standing in NJPW. Prediction: American Dragon Number One Contenders Match AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe Tiger Tiger Woods y’all: "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles first rose to prominence in the Georgia based NWA-Wildside, from there he got to the chance to work for WCW, where after several impressed performances in tag matches he was just starting to make a name for himself when that promotion was bought out on the WWF. After WCW he continued to apply his trade on the independent scene. Where in he quickly became a stand out wherever he roamed, from Georgia, Florida and even on the West Coast with an appearance in APW. He was even offered a developmental contract by the World Wrestling Federation, and really established a reputation for himself when he rejected the WWF’s offer. By turning down Vince’s dirty $500 a week, AJ became a hero to Indy snobs and “elitist” jerks everywhere! From there the sky was the limit for Styles! Soon he exploded into the wrestling stratosphere after joining the upstart NWA- Total Nonstop Action promotion. There he found nation wide exposure week after week. In no time, Styles had become the “face” of NWA-TNA, and was widely considered to be the top performer on the US Indy scene. In seemingly no time, AJ Styles had gone from Indy hero to a modern day wrestling legend. So it was only natural that when Pro Wrestling Guerrilla was looking to make an impact on the scene, they selected AJ Styles to be a part of the Main Event on their inaugural show. His scheduled opposition? Samoa Joe! Joe, like Styles had a quick rise to fame on the Independent scene, from his early days in Southern California with promotions such as UPW, to his true awakening with Zero-One in Japan. However Samoa Joe truly caught the eye of fans world wide with appearances for Philadelphia based “Ring of Honor” where after eye catching performances against the likes of Low-Ki, Homicide, American Dragon and others… he rose to prominence and captured ROH’s version of the World heavyweight title, and quickly became of the “face” of Ring of honor. PWG’s AJ Styles Vs. Samoa Joe match took on a higher significance on June 11 2003, when AJ Styles captured the NWA World Heavyweight title after defeating Jeff Jarrett & Raven in a 3-Way. This was extremely noteworthy for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla as now a showdown between NWA’s Champion and ROH’s Champion would take place at PWG’s debut event! The “underground” vs. the “mainstream” if you will. Just which man or which company would emerge with the superior champion? And where are my car keys? However much like the age-old proverb “How many licks does it take to get to tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop?” it appeared the world would never know, as regrettably Samoa Joe suffered an arm injury while successfully defending his ROH title against Paul London, and the match had to be called off. AJ Styles went on to defeat Samoa Joe’s replacement Frankie Kazarian at PWG’s debut, and then come within inches of winning the PWG title in a 3-way dance in October 2003, and later returned to defeat Samoa Joe’s ally Rocky Romero at PWG’s One Year Anniversary (all named as SoCal matches of the month) and just last show where he received a god like ovation from the adoring PWG audience! Samoa Joe finally entered PWG in November of 2003 and went on a major tear, scoring PWG victories over the likes of CM Punk, BJ Whitmer, B-Boy, Super Dragon, American Dragon, Frankie Kazarian, Joey Ryan and others But one would always have to wonder… how the PWG landscape have differed if Samoa Joe had been able to face AJ Styles at The Debut Show? Would the reigning NWA Champion prevailed over the ROH titleholder? And what about scarecrow’s brain? Now on April 1st 2005 at “All Star Weekend night one” it’s the match nearly two years in the making, as at long last these two icons of Indy wrestling will collide within the confines of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (or FMLL) ring! It’s a battle for pride, it’s a battle for respect, and it’s a battle to at last determine just who is the most dominant force in the world of wrestling! April 1st Hollywood CA… Be there and be square! Past History: Samoa Joe Vs. AJ Styles Vs. Jay Briscoe Vs. Chris Sabin – ROH Beating the Odds 9/6/03, AJ Styles Vs. Samoa Joe – ROH “War of the wire” Samoa Joe Vs. AJ Styles Vs. American Dragon – IWA:MS TPI 2004 Finals. PWG Records AJ Styles is 2-2 overall (2-0 in one on one matches) Samoa Joe is 8-2-1 as a single (loses by way of DQ and count out) neither man has ever been pinned in PWG. My Thoughts: What is there to say? It’s Samoa Freaking Joe Versus AJ F’n Styles? Figure it out! Prediction AJ Styles wins the number one contendership and moves on to face the PWG champion the next night… where I predict he will win the title. PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. El Generico vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen Catching up with Depeche Mode: At "The Ernest P. Worrell Memorial" Kevin Steen survived a fatal 4-way after he scored a pinfall on an unconscious El Generico. With this victory Steen was granted an opportunity the PWG Title later that night. When it came time for the match, Steen wasted no time in attacking Super Dragon from behind in the aisle way. Steen brought the fight to the Dragon, and had a surprising amount of fan support, as the crowd seemed to be equally split between the two competitors. And despite being involved in a 20 plus minute match earlier in the show, Steen gave Super Dragon his toughest challenge as champion to date, nearly coming away with the title on several occasions and even mocking him by using his own curb stomp against him (I would say “No one does that to Super Dragon” but really everyone does that to Super Dragon lately) Kevin Steen finally looked to have finished off Dragon after spiking him with his patented and legally trademarked “Package Piledriver” but even that wasn’t enough to down the Dragon! “If that one didn’t work, I’ve got one that will” Steen proclaimed as he hoisted Dragon up for the PSYCHO DRIVER! But the wily Super Dragon escaped and gave Steen a message of his own which was “Prepare to meet Kali... IN HELL!” as he managed to spike Steen with his own PACKAGE PILEDRIVER to score the pinfall, just barely escaping with the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla title. But the question had to be asked, would Super Dragon have been able to defeat a fresh Kevin Steen? And just what is the deal with Women’s sports? Does anybody care? But Super Dragon’s PWG title defending exploits aren’t over just yet, as he had the task of defending the PWG title in Germany (resisting a ton of jokes right there) against none other than El Generico! Where according to numerous Reuters reports the two engaged in quite the contest, which apparently saw Generico absorb a tremendous amount of punishment, but still be able to mount a comeback and plant Super Dragon with his trademark turnbuckle brainbuster! Which Dragon was somehow able to survive (I’m guessing by magic) and still get the victory retain after the Psycho Driver. Now at all-star weekend, Super Dragon will have the ginormus task of facing both Kevin Steen and El Generico at once! Does “Mr. Wrestling” have Super Dragon’s number? And if so will Super Dragon change his number to prevent unwanted phone calls from Mr. Steen? Will El Generico get payback on Kevin Springsteen and Super Dragon? Will his trademark perseverance enable him to shock the world by coming away with an upset victory? Or will Super Dragon make them both bow down… before ZOD! Find out the answers to all these questions on April 1st as PWG presents ALL STAR WEEKEND NIGHT ONE! Past History Super Dragon/Excalibur Vs. Kevin Steen/El Generico - CZW, Super Dragon Vs. Kevin Steen- PWG 3-12-05, Super Dragon Vs. El Generico - WXW Germany 3-19-05, Super Dragon/Stevie Douglas Vs. El Generico/Aviv Maayan - IPW-UK 3-20-05… I won’t even get into Steen and Generico’s vast history. PWG Records Super Dragon is 23-6 overall, 15-2 as a single, El Generico is 1-3, 1-2 as a single, Kevin Steen is 1-4 overall, 1-3 as a single. Thoughts: As I’ve mentioned last preview, I see a lot of potential in a Super Dragon Vs. El Generico match. I see it being a kin to one of those classic Super Dragon Vs. TARO matches. Because like TARO, El Generico is incredibly loved by the SoCal crowd and can pull off the gutsy underdog role as well as anyone possibly could (even Rick Moranis) From the sound of their recent encounters overseas, it appears they have already begin… what in my opinion will be an incredible series of matches. Kevin Steen Vs. Super Dragon last show was a quite an experience to say the least. The crowd’s dueling "Super Dragon" "MR. Wrestling" chants gave that match a unique feeling, not often seen in Super Dragon matches. You really had the feeling as if Steen would defeat Dragon. This was undoubtedly Kevin Steen’s breakout match on the West Coast. He proved to be a very credible opponent for Dragon. El Generico and Kevin Steen of course have been matched up in numerous promotions around the world and from what I’ve seen; they’ve fully impressed every time. Including an excellent match at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding), which endeared them to the hard to please SoCal crowds. Generico is particular has really emerged as a huge cult favorite in PWG and Kevin Steen isn’t far behind in that department. Last show Steen even asked some guy for some water, then threw back in his face “saying you still suck!” Now that’s a heel! Mix them all together and you’ve definitely have a hard hitting, fast paced contest that could very well end up stealing the whole show (and on a card that this, that’s a one BOLD ass statement, but it wouldn’t shock me) Prediction Super Dragon retains, perhaps moving on to meet AJ Styles at ASW Night 2. Also appearing: - SBS Members Excalibur! (7-11) and Disco Machine! (6-12) - Pro Wrestling Iron standout Hook Bomberry! (2-7) - The Man, who stole the PWG Titles, melted them down and then injected them into his ass, the always-unpredictable Top Gun Talwar! (6-10) - The high-flying LOS LUCHAS! Phoenix Star! (3-4) and Zokre! (2-5) AND MORE (which usually means Ronin, The Ballard Brothers and/or Chuck Mercury. But you never tell just what PWG has in store for us on any given night… and I do mean ANY given night. Wow, Eric Matlock in this is a surprise. He's pretty good.... but I could think of many other SoCalers who'd look better in this.

  5. YES ANOTHER (UNOFFICIAL) PWG PREVIEW! Now some of you may be asking, “By golly, who is Ernest P. Worrell? Some foreign dignitary? That Kid Michael Jackson molested? One of the Little Rascals perhaps? That Little Rascal Michael Jackson molested by chance?†No silly! =) Ernest P. Worrell was a character played by the late Jim Varney. Ernest started off in local TV ads in Nashville area during the late 70’s and quickly rose to become a cinematic icon in the mid to late 80’s. In total the much beloved Ernest character starred in nine movies, One Saturday morning children’s show and more than 4,000 TV commercials! (Including several for Cerritos Auto Square here in So Cal!) But sadly, due to years of heavy smoking, Jim Varney developed lung cancer and tragically passed away on Feb. 10, 2000 at the tender age of 50. But the genius of Varney’s immortal “know it all†Ernest character lives on! As on March 12th 2005 PWG will present the “Ernest P. Worrell Memorial†at The Frank and Sons Collectable showcase with a 2 PM Bell time! (Why so early? Well… because the night belongs to lovers I’d suspect) Let’s run down the matches! Ernest Goes to School Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) vs. Los Luchas (Phoenix Star & Zokre) previously on "As the Guerrilla turns": At "All Nude Revue" The AXP came up short in their second attempt at capturing the PWG Tag team titles, as Arrogance’s sly craftiness once again enabled them to escape with the titles as they used the ropes for leverage to steal one from The AXP. The anger of being cheated out of the titles once again, caused Scorpio Sky to explode (Yes, literally explode!) as he attacked Referee Hercules Hernandez, and vented his anger by throwing chairs into the ring. Now via this defeat the Aerial Express find themselves once again at a crossroads. On March 12th at PWG’s “Ernest P. Worrell Memorial in order to move back into tag title contention, they must first get past the formitable team of Los Luchas! Past history? : 12-22-02 in Revolution Pro, 6-28-03 in AWS (as part of a 3-way with The X-Foundation) and 10-25-03 in AWS. As well as numerous other meetings, including Quicksilver/Chris Bosh Vs. Los Luchas in the first Round of PWG’s Tango and Cash, and a couple of amazing Quicksilver Vs. Phoenix Star matches in Rev Pro. PWG Records: Quicksilver is 9-9, and Sky is 8-8, 5-3 as a duo, Phoenix Star is 2-4 and Zokre 1-5, 0-2 as a duo My Thoughts: First let me say, it’s great to have Los Luchas back in PWG. And they’ve been really making up for lost time, in January they had a really exciting match with Arrogance at “Card Subject to change†and last show, they were apart of the probably best PWG multi-man tag in some time. I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way, but Los Luchas are without a doubt THE perfect opening match team. They never fail to get the crowd buzzing with their high-flying expertise and arm draggy craziness. As for the AXP, I’d say you’d be hard pressed to find a more cohesive unit in wrestling than The AXP. As I’ve said before, I can’t really remember an AXP match that I didn’t really enjoy. Speaking of the AXP, there has been a noticeable difference in the attitudes of Scorpio Sky and Quicksilver lately. With Scorpio Sky usually being super serious and intense, while Quicksilver w/manager Dino Winwood have been going for laughs. Which makes me wonder if a split isn’t forthcoming with the AXP. Sky’s recent temper tantrum at “All Revue†could be the start of a whole new "serious" character for him. As for the match itself… while I haven’t personally seen any of their previous tag team meetings (I’ve been meaning to buy that Best of AWS 2003 DVD) but from all published and unpublished reports, they’ve all been outstanding bouts. And knowing the style of both teams, it’s not hard at all to see all the potential this match up has. These 4 always work extremely well together (I especially liked Quicksilver’s singles matches with Phoenix Star) So, Win, Lose or Draw (or whatever other 80's game show starring Burt Reynolds you want to mention) this should make for a very exciting match up and is my pick for the sleeper match of the show. My Prediction: Los Luchas, after The AXP have a falling out. Ernest rides again Chris Sabin Vs. Ricky Reyes Last time: At “All Nude Revue†Ricky Reyes scored a major victory over the debuting Roderick Strong. In order to build off that victory, this time Reyes will to face a newcomer to PWG, Chris Sabin. Sabin, an accomplished wrestler, hailing from the fighting city of Detroit, Michigan, has really made a name for himself in the NWA-TNA promotion. Just some of his accomplishments in that promotion include winning their X Division title 2 times, as well as winning their Super X Tournament (where he defeated Jerry Lynn, Frankie Kazarian and Juvintud Guerrera in one night) Other career notables include: impressing in such promotions as 3PW, IWA: MS (where he appeared in the 2003 and 2004 TPI tournaments) BCW, IWC (where he won the 2004 Super Indy Tournament defeating Glenn Spectre, CM Punk and Alex Shelley) appeared in the 2003 ECWA Super 8 tournament, was named the 2003 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Rookie of the year, as well as being one of 5 million pro wrestlers in the world named "Chris" (quite a resume eh?) If Ricky Reyes can defeat the well-traveled Sabin, it’ll be quite the feather in his fashionable and stereotypically Cuban, straw hat. But if Sabin can walk into PWG and defeat a competitor like Reyes, he’d have to be considered for immediate title contention. PWG Records: Ricky Reyes is 8-3 overall, 3-2 as a single; Sabin will be making his PWG debut. My thoughts: As I've covered in past previews, Ricky Reyes is quite an underrated singles worker. Perhaps he’s not as flashy, or as rocky or as Romeroey as his partner, Rocky Romero… but I think a lot of his past singles work more than speaks for itself (especially his match with Roderick Strong last show) he’s always delivered as a single in PWG. Now, I’ll admit I haven’t really seen THAT much of Chris Sabin’s work. Probably less than 10 matches total, and several of those matches were most or less {GASP} “spot fests†but still fun. It'll be interesting to see how these two will match up. A Cuban and a guy from Detroit? Throw in a break dancing sass mouthed Robot and you've got yourself a hit sit-com! That was PWG's intention with this right? A hit sitcom? My Prediction: Ricky Reyes. â€Hey Vern, It's My Family Album!†PWG Tag Team Championship Match Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Frankie Kazarian & X Family Matters: The Life and times of the PWG's “First Family†Since day one in PWG, Frankie Kazarian had been a perennial fan favorite, kissing babies signing autographs, helping old ladies cross the street, slapping hands, giving fans tips and tricks for beating Piston Honda on “Mike Tyson’s Punch-out†helping them with their adjustable mortgage rates… you know… just being an overall swell guy. But Frankie’s sparkling relationship with the fans all changed on July 10th 2004 at PWG's "Reason for the Season Where after a memorable “Loser leaves town†cage match, Frankie Kazarian finally vanquished his archrival Adam Pearce. However he was outraged to find that the fans had started cheering the efforts of Adam Pearce! (A man who had caused Kazarian such hardship in the past) Taking the fans' cheers for Pearce as disrespect for him. Frankie decided if the fans didn't respect him... he wouldn't respect them. He then proceeded to attack the fallen Pearce until being ran off by his assumed allies, Babi Slymm and C. EBAY Vanderpyle. The next month at PWG’s “Secret of the ooze†Frankie’s attitude had totally changed. Gone was the beloved “King of hip†in his place was a smug asshole, who looked like that evil dad from Kindergarten Cop. Later that night, 1# Contender Colt Cabana took Kazarian to his limit. Nearly coming away with the all the bananas… if not for Cabana's manager Mr. Vanderpyle "mistakenly" tripping him up, giving Frankie the opening to plant "The Wave of the Future" and win the match. Then from out of nowhere (or actually an unspecified suburb somewhere East of nowhere) Brad “Bad†Bradley and “Big†Babi Slymm hit the ring and attacked Cabana! Soon after Frankie and Vanderpyle joined in on the assault! It had been a set up all along! The new faction stood in triumph, and then proclaimed themselves "The First Family" of PWG. And belittled the fans for overlooking and under-appreciating them. Now as a unit, they could no longer be taken lightly. … The Family’s wave of chaos continued at PWG’s “The Next Show†As Bradley and Slymm defeated Human Tornado and Supa Badd, and Kazarian escaped with his PWG title after a match with Samoa Joe. But the First Family’s night wasn’t over just yet… In the evening’s main event, it appeared as if we would finally see the culmination of The X-Foundation saga. As Joey Ryan and Scott Lost met in a Ladder match to determine, sole possesion of the PWG Tag titles. After a brutally brutish presentation of brutylicious brutality (Don King would be proud of that one) Joey Ryan had seemingly won the match after he decimated Lost with a... umm "modified" Duff Drop off the ladder. The bloodied and battered, Ryan, showed the heart of a true champion, as he courageously fought back to his feet and scaled the ladder and captured the gold. However, the referee had been incapacitated earlier in the bout and didn't witness Ryan's victory. Then shockingly "The First Family" ran out and attacked Ryan, and presented Scott Lost with the belts. When the ref awoke, he saw Scott with the titles and awarded him the match and the tag titles. With Scott Lost now on board, the First Family held all the power and controlled all the gold in PWG. It appeared that nothing could stop the First Family… Or so it may have seemed at the time, but in no time at all, the once strong union had began to slowly unravel, as by PWG’s next event, Vanderpyle had gone AWOL and left the promotion, and Brad Bradley was out in definitely with an injury. Undaunted the remaining members would have to carry on. The first order of business was for Scott Lost to name his new championship partner. It seemed a forgone conclusion he would select one of his stable mates…. But instead he went outside the family and selected Chris Bosh, much to the displeasure of Kazarian and Slymm who were responsible for Lost having the belts in the first place. A few weeks later at “Use Your Illusion 4†The PWG Tag Team Champions, Scott Lost and Chris Bosh (newly dubbed "Arrogance") were given all they could handle by The Aerial Express. During the contest Babi Slymm came to ring side, and an altercation ensued. During which Slymm ended up taking out Bosh with a spear! Causing a DQ, saving the tag titles but creating mammoth dissention among the First Family. Was Slymm feeling the effects of dreaded green monster gomblor… err jealousy after being passed up as Lost's new partner in favor of Bosh? Arrogance then layed out a challenge to Slymm and a partner of his choosing for a match, next month. However… the match never came to be, as soon after Babi Slymm had disappeared from the promotion. The last remnants of the First Family’s stronghold came crashing in at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding) when Kazarian was dethroned as PWG Champion by Super Dragon. And the “First Family†much like Richie’s brother Chuck Cunningham on Happy Days seemed like a distant memory. After his title loss Frankie Kazarian went into PWG seclusion, while Chris Bosh/Scott Lost quickly became the most successful tag team champions in PWG’s history. Flash forward to PWG’s “Card Subject to change†where Arrogance with new manager Valentina were victorious over the returning Los Luchas. Then after the match… “You're the Best†by Joe Esposito hits and Frankie Kazarian made an unscheduled return to PWG. He immediately took exception to Arrogance’s new association with Valentina (the former manager of Kazarian’s arch rival Adam Pearce) After questioning the virtues of Valentina and questioning where Bosh’s rash came from. Kazarian asked them to make a choice… to go with with him or stick with her and catch some social disease) After a bit of deliberation Arrogance appear to side with Kazarian… Bros before hoes! But then Valentina sneaked up from behind and low blowed Frankie! Twas a trap it twas! Then Arrogance layed their former leader out with a pair of Stone Cold Stunners! The First Family was now…. dead…. deader than Elvis on a toilet, heck deader than two Elvis’ on two toilets... The next month at “All Nude Revue†Frankie Kazarian wasted no time and opened the show by calling out Arrogance, only to be cut off by Tony Stradlin, who came out to settle another old score with Kazarian. But during their match… Arrogance made their presence felt, which left Kazarian open for Stradlin’s ROLL UP OF DEATH… costing Frankie the match up. Soon after PWG announced that on March 12th 2005 Kazarian would get his chance at revenge as he and a partner of his choosing would meet Arrogance for the PWG tag titles! However in the interim, Frankie Kazarian’s career has taken a major turn, as he’s agreed to a deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, and will soon be leaving PWG. Giving this match more importance than ever, as this maybe Kazarian’s only chance to destroy the monster he’s created, and finally win back his fans by taking out Arrogance once and for all! Past History? : Frankie Kazarian and Scott Lost met in the 1st Round of PWG’s Bad Ass Mother 3000. PWG Records: Scott Lost is 15-8 overall, Chris Bosh is 10-9, 5-0 as a duo, Frankie Kazarian is 15-6-1, I don’t know much about this “X†guy… he seems to no show a lot. My Thoughts: The real question with this one isn’t the match quality (I think that’s a given here… I mean come on! These guys RULE DOOD) It’s the possible identity of Kazarian’s tag partner. So let’s run down some possible suspects! Each more suspect than the last! Slymm, Babi Motive: Still has unfinished issues with Arrogance dating back to UYI4. So he would fit perfectly into the storyline Chances? : I don’t know. I’m just a simple sandwich man but somehow I have a feeling outside issues just may be preventing him from returning to PWG. Perhaps he’s too busy “keeping it gangsta†which I heard is a full job time for most. So yeah… much like “Deuce Bigelow 2: European Gigolo†I don’t plan on seeing it… Shane, Michael J.(or whatever he’s called now) Motive: Kazarian’s former tag partner in NWA-TNA. Chances? : It’s possible I suppose… though that wouldn’t excite me very much. I think Mr. Excitement would be much more exciting. Ryan, Joseph. Motive: Still has major unfinished business with Scott Lost, he owes him 20 bucks or something. Chances? : I personally think in my heart of my hearts that it’ll be him. I mean his return would surely be a PWG moment to remember. Only question is he recovered enough from his injury to possibly make a return? Mercury, Chuck: Chances? : None really, I just have to mention Chuck Mercury in every preview by federal law. Pearce, “Scrap Daddy†Adam: This has been suggested on several message boards. And well it would be highly interesting to see him return to PWG somehow. I really just don’t see it, wouldn’t make sense from a lot of standpoints… I mean he was the catalyst for the First Family angle. So much like “Deuce Big… oh yeah… already used that one… So umm yeah like Samoa Joe, I would count him out… Frantz, Jardi Chances: NO! PWG better not use Frantz as a surprise ever again! I mean it… If they do I’ll hold my breath until I turn blue or possibly aqua marine. Nothing against Jardi... just him as the surprise at Rocktobestfest was a huge letdown. They should have switched him and Corino around... oh well late now....... or is it? {Insert Random CZW/ROH worker name here} Chances? Seeing as CZW and ROH both have shows this day (and in ROH’s case… EVERY FREAKING WEEKEND) I’d say this is highly unlikely. As ROH is more addictive than crack or even Tetris for wrestlers I’ve heard. So yeah… I’m clueless as anyone. Just have to wait to see who PWG throws at us here. My Prediction The champs retain (Really, I don’t see any PWG title changes until they get belts again… be very anti-climatic to have someone win a title… without actually getting a belt… or a fancy trophy or at least a gift certificate to Arby’s.) Slam Dunk Ernest Number One Contenders Match Christopher Daniels vs. El Generico vs. Kevin Steen vs. AJ Styles Last Time: Kevin Steen’s PWG losing streak continued, as he was defeated at the hands of Christopher Daniels in a singles match. Growing increasing frustrated at his lack of success in PWG, Steen set out to redeem himself as he challenged the two men who’ve previously defeated him in PWG, Christopher Daniels and El Generico to a 3-way dance at PWG’s next event. However, Acting PWG commissioner Disco Machine interjected… and not only granted Steen his match… but shocked the world by adding “The PHENOMENAL†AJ STYLES to the fray! Then further upped the ante by announcing the winner of the match would be the #1 contender for the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla championship! Now due to recent events, the stakes have gotten even higher, as the winner of the match will now get their shot at Super Dragon’s PWG title later that afternoon, and the opportunity of walking into PWG’s biggest shows to date holding the gold! PWG Records: AJ Styles is 2-1 overall, Christopher Daniels is 6-6 overall and 5-3 in singles matches, El Generico is 1-2, 1-1 as a single, Kevin Steen is 0-3 overall, 0-2 in singles matches. Past History? : Styles and Generico met as part of 3-way (with Crazy Crusher) in EWR Daniels and Steen have met in 3 matches (one of which Kevin Steen teamed with AJ Styles... small world eh?) As for El Generico-Kevin Steen and AJ Styles-Chris Daniels… They’ve never met ANYWHERE EVER! My Thoughts: Wow, where to begin… Well, AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels without a doubt the others’ signature opponent. Matching them up has become a reliable stand-by whenever an Indy is looking to put on a great a match. Their track record together speaks for itself, from TNA, ROH, IWA: MS, 3PW, JAPW, IWC, PWG, NWA: Wild side, ABCDEFGW ETC. when these two are matched up in any fashion you always get a high quality match. El Generico and Kevin Steen are just about reaching the level of AJ-Daniels recently. As they’ve been matched up in numerous promotions and have fully impressed every time. Including an excellent match at PWG’s “Free Admission (Just Kidding) which endeared them to the hard to please SoCal crowds (something BJ Whitmer couldn’t even do, AND HE’S BJ “BY GOD†WHITMER!) As far as experience in three or four way dances, I’d say you couldn’t have four better participants. Kevin Steen/El Generico of course made their name in the United States in an action packed 4-way in CZW, AJ Styles/Christopher Daniels have also been involved in many top notch 3 and 4 way dances. Including an incredible 3-way at PWG’s "ARE YOU ADEQUATELY PREPARED TO ROCK" with Frankie Kazarian. Steen has worked well with Christopher Daniels in the past, AJ Styles looked good in there with El Generico in EWR, and I’m sure Steen and Styles will match up well… So with all that in mind… really it doesn't take an avid viewer of "Law & Order" to decipher that this is going to be a special match. Just sit back grab some Frank and Son’s brand chicken and enjoy… My Prediction: Tough prediction, under the original rules I’d have said AJ Styles was a lock to win this one… but with the changes I’d have to say I favor Kevin Steen to win this one. Ernest Scared Stupid PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. Winner Of The Number 1 Contender's Match Last Time: Super Dragon got long awaited revenge on Samoa Joe by defeating him via count out. Past History? : Two singles matches with Christopher Daniels in APW and MLW, faced Steen and El Generico in a tag match in CZW, Met AJ Styles as part of a 4-way match in IWA:MS in 2002. PWG Record: Super Dragon is a funktastic 22-6 overall, 14-2 as a single My Thoughts on possible Super Dragon challengers: Christopher Daniels: Ok, I can’t talk about SD-Daniels until I address proverbial “turd in the punch bowl†That being the two less than stellar matches they had in the past. (Warning rant coming up…)That morons on a certainty snooty promotion’s message board full of morons like to bring up ad-nauseum, as proof of Super Dragon’s "lack of skill". Ugh Just face it, MLW sucked plain and simple. Never judge anyone based on MLW work. So those morons on that moron board should just take the moron train back to moron town with the rest of the morons (Wow sorry about the angry Dr. Pepper fueled tangent there) ANYWAY, I’m not sure if PWG will go with this match up due do the negative reputation of their previous match ups. But in a way, I hope they do go with it. As hopefully they will finally erase the memory of their previous matches with the one of the high level performances they are usually known for here... and thus prove all the pork eating demon people’s claims erroneous! Chance? : Low, but you never know! Heck, you could wake up dead tomorrow… Kevin Steen: For me the most memorable moment of CZW’s Cage of Death 6 show was the incredible exchange between Super Dragon and Kevin Steen. Where they traded stiff shots with vicious intensity… with neither man getting the better of the other. Clearly a singles match up between the one would be quite the spectacle. But due to scheduling conflicts/lousy booking/termites/the move “Dante’s Peak†or whatever, CZW has never able to follow up on this sure fire “money match†This is PWG's chance to get the jump on everyother promotion by being the one to host this epic match up. If this one ends up taking place on Saturday, buckle up your seat belts (if applicable... I know I'll be bringing my seat belt) because we’ll be in for a hell of ride. Chance? : High, with the change in the match up. Kevin Steen is now my favorite to face Dragon. El Generico: After seeing Generico get thrashed by SD like a freshman during “hell week†at CZW’s Cage of Death 6. Got me thinking of all the potential a SD Vs. Generico match would have. Generico fits the “Super Dragon opponent†mold to a t. I really think it could be comparable to one of the classic Super Dragon Vs. TARO matches; a lot of the same dynamics are present. As like TARO was, El Generico is incredibly loved by the SoCal crowd and pulls off the gutsy underdog role as well as anyone could. If Generico survives the 4-way and goes into the match with Dragon wounded… they could produce a dramatic masterpiece on par with Giuseppe Verdi’s “Aïdaâ€! (I hope no one gets that reference) This could be just the beginning of what could be an unforgettable series of matches (well unless you have Alzheimer’s or something… then you’d probably forget them I guess) Update: In fact they are already set for a PWG title match in Germany on March 19th... as Mel Allen would say "How bout' that?" Chance? : Medium, good chance… but seems unlikely right now. AJ Styles: This is of course the major dream match of the bunch. The Biggest star in SoCal… meeting arguably the biggest Indy star in North America. Really only a matter of time before this one ends up taking place (the perfect main event for “All Star Weekend†actually) but will they go with it so soon? It’s very possible; maybe have Super Dragon get the better of an injured AJ Styles. Then have Styles win another shot at “ASW Night 1†and then do it up proper at “ASW Night 2†A lot to consider there… but if they do go with it. Will it be good? Shit, Negro, you know how they do! Course it will! Chance? : The Beatles..... err High. My Prediction: Super Dragon retains and walks into All Star Weekend with the title Also set to appear: The Ballard Brothers! (8-5 as a team) Excalibur! (7-10) Hook Bomberry... Hook Hook.... Bomberry! (2-6) The Human Tornado! (2-6) Top Gun Talwar! (6-9) and Ronin (2-2) starring Robert DeNiro and Jean Reno! PLUS the in-ring return of interim PWG Commissioner Disco Machine! (6-11) AND WHO KNOWS WHO ELSE COULD APPEAR! Maybe that guy from Cheers! (YES NORM!) For Official details and information please visit: http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/news/ FINAL THOUGHTS: Now you may be asking "Hey guy that doesn’t exist, why is this show so important?" Why elementary! My Dear Watson! (Or whatever your name happens to be… I’m assuming its Watson) You see this will be a pivotal event in the future development of PWG! You have to believe it will mark the beginning of several new exciting story lines and set the tone going into the ultra mega huge All Star Weekend… Plus I just think it'll be a kick ass show! Look at all it has to offer: A huge 4-way featuring the SoCal return of AJ Styles, with the winner moving on to a huge World Title dream match that night!, The big tag title grudge match, who will Frankie’s partner be? (It could be Annette!) Which minority group will Bosh offend this time? Those lousy Dutch perhaps? What will happen when Excalibur comes face to face with the man who suspended him, Disco Machine? Will Scorpio Sky have another violent outburst? Will the 2nd Super Dragon make his presence felt? Who knows what surprises could PWG have up its sleeve on the eve of their biggest weekend of shows yet! It's really a can't miss show in many ways… so don’t miss it… or I’ll send hired goons after you… I’m freaking serious! I’ve done it before…. More new DVD info

Geeze, considering Rise and Fall of ECW was like the 2nd best selling WWE DVD of all time (I.E. everyone who'd want the ECW PPV would already own Rise and fall) I think it's total crap to not to release this on it's own. They can't be THAT greedy can they?

    Smackdown! Spoilers

Wow, I hope these are real. Marty Jannetty's always been a huge favorite of mine, and it'd be alot of fun to see him on TV again. And another London-Akio match would be much welcomed as well....
  8. Damn..... that is the greatest event name ever! No, I'm not affraid to admit that I am a huge Ernest mark. That guy was a comedic god.... a GOD I say! Double dog damn, that's very good looking card there. 4-way should be awesome, SD-Stradlin should be interesting, Somehow I get the idea Kazarian's partner is Joey Ryan (which would be huge) AXP Vs. Los Luchas is always top notch. And Chris Sabin is a little out of the blue... but hey it's always good to see new faces in PWG. Triple dog damn, 4 new dvds! Wow, well.... there goes $60 bucks right here. As those 4 shows just maybe PWG's best work to date. Also gotta agree on the love for the new covers, especially the UnCanny X-mas.... the number on the issue is 21... and that happened to be PWG's 21st show! GENIUS! A CROPDUSTING GENIUS~! Nice stuff..... can't wait for this one.....

    Frankie Kazarian Leaves TNA

Got this from SoCalUncensored.com's board: "This is the official statement from Frankie Kazarian concerning recent events and his status with TNA Wrestling that has been posted on his official website at www.thefuturefrankiekazarian.com Please credit Frankie's website when reproducing this statement. He will be addressing other matters at a future date. Thank you. OK. Here it goes. The fact of the matter is that I am in fact no longer with TNA wrestling. I had been wrestling without a contract since last year, and I made the decision to end my partnership with the company, and pursue other opportunities in the world of professional wrestling. I cannot stress enough that this was MY decision, and no ones fault. Sometimes we reach points in our personal and professional lives that we must make decisions that hurt a great deal, and this has been one of them. I want to thank everyone involved in TNA. From day one I was always treated with respect and class. I have had the most fun in my career these past Two years with TNA. I want to also thank Dixie Carter, a truly classy woman, and someone I consider a good friend and an even better person. Jerry and Jeff Jarrett gave me a platform to do what it is I love on a national level, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I thank them for having the confidence in me to represent their company as a champion on Two different occasion. Everyone in the office, Bob Ryder, Tim Welch, Bill Banks, Scott Hudson, Jeremy Borash, the amazing announcing duo of Mike Tenay and Don West, I consider terrific people, and very good friends. Dave Sahadi in production, an old pal of mine, is one of the most talented people I have met, and I will miss you a lot. The agents, Jerry Lynn, Terry Taylor, Scott D’amore, Shane Douglas, and Dutch Mantel are the most knowledgeable , and helpful people I have been around in wrestling, and what I have learned from all of them has be invaluable. I thank them all and will miss them a great deal. All of the boys, and girls in the locker room. What can I say? You are ALL my family, and I love each an every one of you from the bottom of my heart. You are such an incredibly talented group of professionals, and have given me memories I will cherish for the rest of my life. You are not co-workers, you are all my friends. I thank you for all the matches, the good times and the bad. We are all in this together, living out the same dream we all had as young children. It really is an honor for me to say I got to be in a company with you all. I am a better person for knowing all of you. The friendships I have forged in TNA mean more to me then anything. It is with a heavy heart, that I say goodbye. I cannot thank you, the fans enough for your outpouring of support. I thank each and every one of you. This has been overwhelming to me, and the last 36 hours have been difficult. I ask that you all please continue to support TNA wrestling, and all of Pro wrestling in general. You are the reason we as professional wrestlers are here. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and God bless. Frankie Kazarian "

[/i] Featured performances will include: The most eagerly awaited return match in PWG History as Super Dragon seeks redemption against Samoa Joe with the PWG title on the line! Arrogance (Scott Lost and Chris B-to-tha-izzosh) once again defending their titles against the team that some say were robbed of a victory at Use Your Illusion 4" The Aerial Express! (Quicksilver and Scorpion Sky Andrews) East Coast stand out Roderick Strong will make his West Coast debut as he faces the Havana Pitbull's own Ricky Reyes! In Disco Machine Showcases: International lucha and badminton sensation El Generico will meet the debuting Alex Shelley! Will the power of the brainbustaaah be enough to counteract the technical expertise of “The Nextâ€? One of the best in the game, Christopher Daniels will meet the challenge of one of wrestling's fastest rising superstars Kevin Steen! All this and Andy Rooney tonight on 60 minutes! Let's get to the matches! : Ricky Reyes vs. Roderick Strong Past History? : Met at least twice previously in tag team bouts... Havana Pitbulls Vs. Roderick Strong/Jack Evans Vs. Carnage Crew Vs. Dan Maff/BJ Whitmer "Ring of honor: Glory by honor 3" Havana Pitbulls Vs. Roderick Strong/Jack Evans - "Ring of Honor: Weekend of Thunder Night 1" PWG Records: Ricky Reyes is 7-3 overall, 2-2 as a single. Strong will be making his PWG debut. My Thoughts? : Roderick Strong out of the Florida area was one of the break out Indy stars of the past year. In 2004 he burst on the scene with a string of impressive outings in CZW, ROH, IWA:MS, JAPW. Quickly leaving his mark with his fierce hard-hitting style and notorious reputation of being the MacGyver of the backbreaker. Seemingly being able to turn any situation into a backbreaking predicament. Some of his past accomplishments include being a finalist in the 2004 CZW “Best of the best†and NWA: Florida “Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup†tournaments, being a member of ROH’s “Generation Next†and scoring huge victories over the likes of Samoa Joe, Super Dragon, B-Boy, Alex Shelley, BJ Whitmer, Homicide and others. As well as making several appearances for NWA-TNA and even having a match with Kurt Angle on the January 13, 2005 edition of WWE Smackdown! Now Strong will the first time venture in a new frontier… that of Southern California! Where the men are men, and the women are sometimes men as well! (long story…) On the other side you have Ricky Reyes, not since the days of Teofilo Stevenson and Pedro Cerrano has there been a harder hitting Cuban athlete! While yes, still may be best known as one half of the amazing Havana Pitbulls, he's also quite the talented single worker. Last year Reyes took the wrestling and poker world by storm as he appeared in the very prestigious ECWA Super 8 Tourney, Made a huge impact in the east coast with ROH (where he currently co-holds the tag title), as well as working in IWA: MS, MLW, NJPW and not to mention having a terrific year right here in his home base of SoCal with PWG, EWF (where he currently holds the world title) and NJPW-USA. As a single he's produced some outstanding solo outings, including a brutally stiff encounter with Samoa Joe, He gave Teddy Hart a Fight Club quality ass kicking at The Inoki Dojo, an excellent U Style-esque bout with Apollo Kahn. He’s also impressed against the likes of Frankie Kazarian, Rocky Romero, Bobby Quance, PUMA, and many others. And is soon to be debuting for ZERO-ONE in Japan. So by no means overlook him as a singles wrestler because he happens to be apart of one of the best tag teams in the world right now. That would just be ludicrous… you hear me? Ludicrous! Say speaking of ludicrous, do you think it would be out of the question to give Ricky Reyes a “Hey Ricky you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, Hey Ricky†chant? Well think of about it! Err anyway this is a real interesting match, seeing as both can dish out the beat downs with Ike Turner like precision. And while I’ve yet to personally see their ROH tag meetings, I’ve heard that they were quite good. With two very world class talents such as these… I can only imagine we’ll see something special here. This one has all the making of a wrestling clinic, which just may end up stealing the whole show. Watch for Strong’s many awesome variations of the backbreaker (Hmm, just imagine if Strong faced off with PWG’s own master of the backbreaker Chris Bosh! I’d imagine we’d see some backbreakers in that one!) My Prediction?: Ricky Reyes Disco Machine Showcase Match El Generico vs. Alex Shelley Last time in Guerrila Pro Guerrilla: El Generico and partner Kevin Steen came up on the losing end of a tag match against The AXP at “Uncanny X-Mas†Past History: This will be a first time ever meeting. PWG Records: El Generico is 1-1, 1-0 as a single. Alex Shelley will be making his PWG debut My Thoughts: This one should be real treat. Alex Shelley has really become a favorite of mine recently via his work in promotions such as IWA:MS, ROH and CZW. He can work the mat like a mad man and always seems to produce a worthy match up. If you’ve only seen his NWA-TNA work… don’t judge him on that. He’s capable of a lot more… El Generico has also quickly became a favorite of mine, since he recently exploded on to the US scene this past fall. One of the more enjoyable characters in wrestling today, who can also produce in the ring and amaze you with his athleticism and cat like agility. Yes, El Generico and SoCal are a perfect fit! Now I must say on paper, this is the… umm oddest looking match on the card let’s say. I can’t think of either man ever having a comparable opponent. Which makes this one all the more intriguing. Seems to be territory for both… so like a blind man at an orgy, they are going to have to feel their way through. Which shouldn’t be too hard a task for either man, I’ve seen Alex Shelley’s deliver in the past against a wide variety of opposition and El Generico… well I think we are just scratching the surface of what Generico’s capable of. . This one has loads of potential.. So I'll take a chance here and award this match as my not very 'prestigious' pick for the sleeper match of the night. My Prediction: Another tough prediction… but I’ll go with Alex Shelley Disco Machine Showcase Match "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels vs. "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen Last time: Christopher Daniels suffered an upset defeat at the hands of Tony Stradlin at “Uncanny X-mas†Kevin "Kev-bo" Steen teamed with El Generico in a losing effort against the Aerial Express at "UnCanny X-mas" Past History? : Met once before at EWR's Revolution 1.0 in Canada. PWG Records: Christopher Daniels is 4-3 in singles matches and 5-6 overall, Kevin Steen is 0-2 overall, 0-1 in singles matches. My Thoughts? : Ok, where to start? Well Christopher Daniels should need no introduction to anyone who may possibly ever be reading this, as he is arguably one of the best on this or possibly any other planet. From PWG, WWF, WCW, ECW, TNA, MLW, ROH, JAPW, UPW, IWA:MS, New Japan, 3PW and all points in between, he's worked everywhere and probably won everything there is to win in the world of Indy wrestling. So let’s skip it? We already know he’s great. He is somehow on a bit of a losing streak in PWG, dropping recent matches to Bobby Quance and Tony Stradlin. Will he break his cold streak here? Kevin Steen is considered by many to be top wrestling prospect in Canada. Has been putting on some great matches lately… out only with the best Canada has to offer (including an excellent match in PWG with El Generico) as well as with well known Indy Superstars such as Steve Corino, Jerry Lynn, Roderick Strong, Austin Aries and PWG regulars Samoa Joe, Super Dragon, Excalibur and The AXP. His style is a good combination of power and speed. He possesses a deadly arsenal of impressive maneuvers, including his finisher “The package piledriver†and several incredible variations of the suplex. He's true star on the raise, most recently earning a spot on an upcoming "Zero One" tour in Japan. So don’t be surprised if you see major things from him in the future. Also on a losing streak in PWG, as he’s dropped his only two matches in the promotion thus far. As for the match itself, while I’ve yet to see it myself from most accounts these two had quite the match last year in Canada for EWR’s promotion, that some had proclaimed as one of the years best. Although that one was fueled by one of those rapid Canadian crowds who’d probably pop for an “inanimate carbon rod†(No offense to the rod!) But EH who I am I to argue with popular opinion? I wouldn't expect anything less from these two this time around. My Prediction? : Christopher Daniels Now it's time for this months “obsessive loser PWG trivia questionâ€! This one's tough... In PWG's history, what two wrestlers had been officially announced as appearing in matches but to date have never ended up appearing in PWG period? (Tony Stradlin was one, after he had been set to appear on the Debut show, but never ended up appearing until “Use Your Illusion 3â€) First person to correctly answer wins… nothing. But let’s see who can get this one…. PWG Tag Team Championship Match Arrogance (Chris Bosh & Scott Lost) © vs. Aerial Express (Quicksilver & Scorpio Sky) Backstory: After months of PWG inactivity, at Use Your Illusion 3 The Aerial Express finally made their return and once again embarked on the long and winding road to the PWG Tag titles. And in order to earn a title shot, they had to go through the formitable team of Disco Machine and Excalibur. After a hard fought battle, the AXP were able to defeat S.B.S. after their spiking Excalibur with their feared running dropkick/piledriver combination. Earning them a title at the newly crowned PWG tag title champions, Scott Lost and Chris Bosh. At PWG's Use Your Illusion 4. The AXP received their title match but soon ran into a little bump on the road to the titles. As after an incredible match, AXP had thought they'd won the belts. But later learned that they had in fact lost the match by way of disqualification via Babi Slymm's interference! Just great! In order to get back in position for a tag title rematch, they had to get through the international team of Kevin Steen and El Generico at PWG's "Uncanny X-mas" and if they were unsuccessful, they would have had to split up for a peroid of six months. But after a hard fought match, Sky was able to score a pin fall victory on Kevin Steen to save the very future of the team. The AXP’s night wasn’t over quite yet…. They took it upon themselves to interject into Scott Lost and Chris Bosh’s title defense against The Havana Pitbulls. Forcing the referee to award the match to Arrogance as a result of a disqualification. This raised the ire of the Havana Pitbulls whom the AXP had swindled out of their shot at the titles. This led to an intense pull a part brawl between the two teams. Something big (and possibly cheaply made Canadian ale) was brewing here. Both teams wanted the titles, but it was clear that in order to get to what they wanted… they first had to go through each other! So at “Card Subject To Change†a wiser and more determined Aerial Express took on the Havana Pitbulls. The AXP wasted no time in attacking The Pitbulls, which set off a heated brawl all through the building. This was a new intense side of The Aerial Express not seen before in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. They weren’t going to let anything take advantage of them this time. This unrelenting approach proved successful for the express as they all took all the brutality the Pitbulls had to offer, but were still able to score the biggest victory of their careers and down the mighty Pitbulls. After Sky pinned Reyes using the ropes. The AXP were more focused than ever and determined to take home the gold in PWG…by any means necessary. Nothing and no one was going to stand in their way of the gold! , Not the crooked Olympic Medal Committee, Not the Pitbulls, Not Babi Slymm, Not a huge cardboard cut out of Ralph Macchio, Not that delicious and moderately priced Value Menu at Taco Bell, not anything! With this victory the earned the right at another PWG tag title match against the team they feel they’ve already defeated, in Scott Lost and Chris Bosh. Now at "All Nude Revue" these two teams are once again set to meet in squared circle combat. Will this new no nonsense version of the Aerial Express take their right full place as PWG Tag Title Champions? Or will the arrogant arrogant ness of Arrogance prove too arrogant to out arrogant? Can the team of Chris Bosh and Scott Lost once again escape with the titles? Or will we witness the birth of the era of The Aerial Express? Past history?: Met at PWG's Use Your Illusion 4. Bosh and The AXP have quite a..... LONG history, just look at some of the different combinations of AXP Vs. Bosh/partner du jour AXP Vs. Bosh/Rising Son AXP Vs. Bosh/Super Boy AXP Vs. Bosh/Disco Machine AXP Vs. Bosh/King Fuji AXP Vs. Bosh/Super Dragon AXP Vs. Bosh/Johnny Paradise AXP Vs. Bosh/Babi Slymm AXP Vs. Bosh/El Gallinero 4 (Chuck Mercury) AXP Vs. Bosh/Hydro (Ronin) AXP (as The Bosh Brothers) Vs. Bosh/Lil Cholo AXP Vs. Bosh/UK Kid Also numerous others meetings, from the now legendary Coco The Mime Vs. Justin Timbersnake Oct. 2002 C4 match, to Quicksilver Vs. Chris Bosh Rev X 2003 MOTY, Sky Vs. Bosh from APW-LA to their meetings more recently in Rev Pro, PWG and AWS. Look... I would list them all, but I don't have a freaking month to do so. Let's just agree they have some history ok? Scott Lost and The AXP have a bit of history as well; Lost has recently toured Japan's Osaka Pro with Scorpio Sky. And had tag matches in PWG, AWS, WPW and others, as well as a singles match in APW-LA, and an excellent, first round Revolution J match, that some say stole the show and several people’s wallets including one with the words “Bad Mother fucker†on it PWG Records: Scott Lost is 14-8 overall, Chris Bosh is 9-9, 4-0 as a duo, Quicksilver is 9-8, and Sky is 8-7, 5-2 as a duo My Thoughts? : Scott Lost and Chris Bosh have fast become one of my favorite teams to watch. It’s amazing that a team with only four prior teamings can have the tag team continuity they have displayed. The matches they had with B-Boy/Super Dragon, Los Luchas, The Havana Pitbulls and The Aerial Express could be considered to be some of the most entertaining tag matches I’ve seen recently, not only in PWG but also in all of wrestling (not like that’s particularly hard nowadays) Bosh and Lost, have this weird chemistry in there that’s hard to explain and man does it work! Bosh in particular has really turned it up lately, and is really firing on all cylinders recently not only in the ring but with his comically changed character and often outlandish comments! Including calling the Havana Pitbulls “Dirty Mexicans†Ha ha it’s funny because you see The Pitbulls are actually of Cuban descent and are really quite clean! High comedy indeed! I <3 Chris Bosh. I haven’t seen the DVD yet I remember the first match between these two teams at “Use Your Illusion 4†being quite the display of tag team excellence. Now with the AXP’s new “take no shit†attitude, I can see them taking this one to a whole other level. Really with the experience these guys have with each other… they could probably be asleep and still produce something memorable here. I say this is a potential show stealer… A big question here, is will Frankie Kazarian have anything to say in this one, after what Scott Lost and Chris Bosh did to him last show? My Prediction? : The Aerial Express captures the gold (well they would if someone hadn’t stolen the PWG belts! I blame the commies… and people from Vermont) PWG Championship Match Super Dragon © vs. Samoa Joe Coping with loss: The Super Dragon Vs. Samoa Joe saga: First let’s meet the players: Super Dragon for several years now, has been the man in The Southern California Independent scene. Some of his many accolades include: 2 SoCal Wrestler of the year awards, 3 SoCal match of the year awards, named as the SoCal Wrestler of the month an amazing 14+ times (alot more if they ever updated that thing!) Dragon had conquered nearly every obstacle thrown in his path, from CM Punk, B-Boy, Bobby Quance, Havana Pitbulls, The Briscoe Brothers, Scorpio Sky, Colt Cabana, Excalibur, Disco Machine, M-Dogg 20, Vic Grimes, Joey Ryan, Homicide, Chris Hero, B-Boy, Babi Slymm, TARO, Mr. Excitement, Spanky, 'TV Legend" Bob Barker, Mike Quakenbush and Silver Tyger were just among some of his conquests and even in the case of a rare defeat he'd always appeared totally dominate throughout. Would anyone be able to dethrone the King of SoCal? Samoa Joe in the last few years has made an hit the scene with all the impact of… a tempest cyclone.... a goddamn hurricane. Quickly establishing himself as the unstoppable juggernaut in the world of wrestling. Making a name for himself through out the world, defeating such names as Tommy Dreamer, CM Punk, Homicide, Chris Hero, American Dragon, Kintaro Kanemura, Roderick Strong, Doug Williams, Paul London, Christopher Daniels, Gen. Adnan, B-Boy, AJ Styles, Jay Briscoe and many others. As well as enjoying a nearly 2-year reign as Ring of honor champion, as well as making his mark in PWG. Being one of the only men in PWG to never suffer a pinfall or submission loss. In fact where ever he went recently… no won has been able to curb the monsters’ path of destruction. Could any competitor anywhere halt the island monster's reign of terror? This led many fans to wonder, just what would happen if the two most sadistic, hardest hitting sons of a bitches on the Indy scene ever went one on one in the ring. It was an often teased and rumored dream match amongst fans everywhere. However on August 4th 2004….. The dream became reality as PWG announced that Samoa Joe's scheduled opposition for "The Secret of the ooze" American Dragon had to cancel due to a pressing engagement in the land of the rising sun…. and the man, chosen to be his replacement was none other than SEXY CHINO… later be to changed to SUPER DRAGON himself! And all the questions would finally answered on 08.14.04 as PWG presented…. “The Secret of the ooze†Early on in the bout it was clear that Super Dragon had the overwhelming crowd support. As the streamers came flying (according yours truly, throwing one that accidentally hit a photographer! Sorry…) in support of Dragon. Early on, Super Dragon attempted to go toe to toe with Samoa Joe with fleeting success, as the size and strength advantage of Joe was too much for Dragon to overcome. Leaving Dragon unable to find his offensive rhythm. Samoa Joe proceed to do what no man had ever been able to previously. He was manhandling Super Dragon! But Dragon wasn't out of the fight yet, he was able to counter several of Joe's attacks, and use his speed to his advantage by going to the air to ground the monstrous Samoan. But Joe's brute force was able to the turn the tide once again. Joe had taken SD out of his own game! Samoa Joe seemed to be toying him. Despite it all, Dragon kept fighting back against all odds. And Dragon for a short time once again looked to have things going his way. As he managed to get Joe in position for the Psycho Driver… but couldn't lift the massive Joe. Due to the vast amount of punishment he'd suffered in the contest... instead he opts to hit Joe with a back suplex... then SD ascends the turnbuckle and hits his trademark double stomp to the head of the head! But even that couldn’t stop Joe! The seemingly invulnerable Joe quickly recovers and keeps laying in the strikes, slapping Dragon in an obvious attempt to embarrass him. But with all the fight left in him, Super Dragon comes back with a rolling elbow knocking Joe into the corner.... then Dragon proceeds to unleash the violence party on Samoa Joe! Just as Dragon attempts to finish it with a lariat... Joe counters with a huge belly-to-belly suplex sending Dragon crashing hard to the floor. As Joe looked on with an evil grin, Dragon tried valiantly to fight back up to his feet before the referee's 20 count... but it proved to be all in vain as the damage was too much to surmount... and Samoa Joe was awarded the match via count out. “No mas, No mas†Joe beat him in perhaps the most humbling way possible. Not by just a mere pinfall, Joe completely destroyed the Dragon. Via this impressive victory, Samoa Joe had now emerged as the man to beat in PWG and the for the first time Super Dragon’s status as top dog in SoCal was put into question.... How would Super Dragon be able to look his daughter in the eye knowing he couldn't continue? (Note: Don't really think he has a daughter... that he knows of) After the match, Joe gave an interview explaining that his number one goal in PWG was to add PWG's top prize, it’s title to his collection… and nothing else in PWG mattered to him. So the next month at the "next show" Samoa Joe got his PWG title match against Frankie Kazarian. But before a winner could be declared.... Super Dragon interjected himself into the contest and delivered a message to Samoa Joe and that message was: "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die" after a huge altercation the match was thrown out and Joe had been declared the victor via disqualification. Super Dragon had cost Samoa Joe the one thing he wanted the most… the PWG championship. The question had to be asked.... how would Samoa Joe extract his revenge on the man who robbed him of the PWG title? It soon became clear that the answer was that Joe was going do the most evil, cruel and sadistic thing he could ever possibly do to Super Dragon… and that was… absolutely nothing! Joe was purely after the PWG title, he had nothing more to prove by facing Dragon again, and the worst punishment he could ever inflict on Super Dragon was never grant him his shot at retribution and let his anger continue to eat him up. A brilliant psychological scheme… and a damn tasty burger. The mind games continued at PWG's "Use Your Illusion 3" as Dragon stuck his nose in Joe's business once more by making his presence felt in Samoa Joe's match with Joey Ryan. But Dragon's plan backfired as Joe still came out on top..... and paid little mind to Dragon's attempts to get inside his head. Dragon then shifted gears... as he realized, that the only way he could get back in the ring with Joe… was to make Joe come to him.... and the only way to do that would be to capture the one thing Joe desired in PWG... the title! And SD soon earned his shot at the title, as his feud with Joey Ryan met it’s apex, as he defeated Ryan in a classic Iron Man match at PWG’s “Use Your Illusion 4†Then at PWG's "Free Admission (just Kidding)" Dragon received his shot at the title, and was able to defeat Frankie Kazarian in a hard fought match up to win the prize that Joe so coveted. The Ball was now in Dragon's court. Samoa Joe finally made his way back into PWG at "Uncanny X-mas" and in the main event of that event; he settled another long time rivalry as he scored a decisive victory over American Dragon. And in the process earned himself the number one contendership for the PWG Title… held by…. Super Dragon. And with this victory, the most eagerly awaited rematch in PWG history was now set.... Now, all Dragon had to do is play the “waiting game†and maybe “Hungry Hungry Hippos†until Joe would have to come to him. But keeping the title was far from an easy task as Super Dragon had to endure the worthy challenges of Jonny Storm, Chris Bosh and an old rival of Samoa Joe’s Homicide! And even had to endure an attack at the hands... of himself? But through it all Super Dragon’s dominance shined through and he was able to hang on to the title. More focused than ever… he was now ready for another shot at Joe. On Feb. 12th at PWG's "All Nude Revue" all the unfinished business will finally be settled, as it’s the rematch 6 months in the making. As Super Dragon's road to redemption will meet its end. He will at last receive an opportunity at vindication against the seemingly invulnerable Samoa Joe! It’s a match he MUST win… and a match cannot afford to lose (that's so cliche I know) Both men will be fighting to achieve the one thing they most want in PWG. For Super Dragon, it’s to reclaim his honor and to erase the events of the “Secret of the ooze†forever. For Samoa Joe, it’s to further cement his nation wide dominance by capturing the PWG title. Will Super Dragon's consuming desire for vengeance against Samoa Joe be enough to lead him at last to redemption? Or will the mighty Samoan’s mighty Samoan-ness once again humble the dragon? After all the smoke has cleared… who will emerge the true king of PWG? Past history: Met at PWG's "Secert of the ooze" (and Shhhh they also had a match at JAPW's Halloween Hell 2004) As well as in a 6-man tag in 2002 for MPW. SD and Joe were also tag partners and allies for a short time in EPIC Pro Wrestling. PWG Records: Super Dragon is commanding 21-6 overall, 13-2 as a single; Samoa Joe is 8-1-1 as a single (one loss by way of DQ… yes Dairy Queen) My Thoughts? : This is a PWG equivalent of an old school Wrestlemania main event. A huge rematch with the top star in SoCal out to reclaim his place in the pecking order by defeating the one man ever to get the better of him, the unstoppable Samoa Joe (Who I don’t think lost 10 matches total last year) Just doesn’t get any better than that in Indy wrestling.... As for the match itself, well… the 8/14/04 match has to be considered one of the top matches in PWG’s history. It had incredible atmosphere, story telling, the whole irresistible force meeting the unmovable object feel behind it. Really a great match…. This time it should be even better with the added storyline elements to play off of (for example will Dragon finally be able to lift Joe up for the Psycho Driver? and the whole count out deal) and the 6 months of building anticipation. This should really have that “big match’ feel to it. If there was ever a “can’t miss’ PWG match… I’d say it was this one. So expect a brutal war of freaking attrition. A real potential classic here. Don’t miss it! My Prediction?: Super Dragon retains the title. What I’d like to see happen is for Super Dragon to beat Samoa Joe so badly Joe is counted out (ala 8/14/04) Thus giving Dragon his revenge and sending the fans home happy. But still not settling the score… then they could finally blow off the feud at one of the “All Star Weekend†shows… in a last man standing type match. Just an idea…. but pay no mind to me. But that's not all! Also set to appear: Pro Wrestling Iron/MySpace's own Hook Bomberry! (1-6, Fun Fact: Hook hasn't had a win in PWG since the debut show!) The red hot (and spicy) Human Tornado! (2-5) LOS LUCHAS! Phoenix Star (1-4) and Zokre! (0-5) Everyone's favorite recreational drug abuser: Top Gun Talwar! (5-9) (As mentioned in Jose Canseco’s new book!) Straight off two huge victories (one more and it’s a winning streak!) Tony Stradlin! (2-3) And the in ring return of former two time PWG champion "The Future" Frankie Kazarian! (15-5-1) Who better be careful as he has a Nascar driver to face the next day on PPV! Final Thoughts: Wow, PWG continues it’s hot streak with yet ANOTHER amazing looking show! And I must say as long as I’ve been writing these previews this has to be the most difficult PWG show I’ve had to predict. Literally every match could go either way. We’re in for something amazing here… So yeah attend this freaking show! Hey why not? Yeah yeah I know, you can tell me any story that comes into your head, just so long as at the end of that story you hand PWG some money! Really… should be great stuff, Samoa Joe Vs. Super Dragon alone is worth the price of admission… so wake up early make your way down to Franks and Sons on the 12th! And if someone asks you where you are going… tell em’ it’s an ALL NUDE REVUE BABY! For official information and details please check out: http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/news/ Also remember, boys and ghouls that PRESIDENT’S DAY is right around the corner! And what’s the perfect gift for that special President in your life? Why PWG DVDs of course! Available at http://www.prowrestlingguerrilla.com/merch/ Including the new released "Use your illusion 4" which features what I consider to be the greatest match in PWG's history, as Super Dragon and Joey Ryan put their rivalry to rest in a 60 minute Iron Man Match! PLUS The debut of 6 of the best from CHIKARA! Kazarian defends the title against the challenge of Ricky Reyes! The Aerial Express get their first shot at Scott Lost and Chris Bosh and MORE.... so buy some won't you? Please? I'll be your friend! =) Also remember to buy one of PWG’s many stylishly t-shirts! Trust me playas they attract ALL the chickenheads! When you wear PWG brand clothing… sucka you’d need ho repellant just to keep the bitches off yo ass! Ok… umm I’d like to take this time to announce that this will the last full preview for a while… as I’m pretty burned out lately. Hopefully I’ll still do write-ups for the major PWG feuds and whatnot… but I think these full previews will be put on hiatus for a while. I never realized how freaking long these things are! Anyway, I can only hope you’ve enjoyed reading them half as much as I’ve enjoyed writing them! A super big thanks goes out to everyone involved in PWG for producing such an outstanding product month after month and providing us with the best entertainment possible. In this day and age it seems like anyone with a pipedream, 40 dollars and a hell of a nice watch can start up a “super fed†but it takes that special intangible to actually make it work… and PWG is the rare promotion with just those qualities. So I thank them! We in SoCal are truly in your debt (but good luck getting us deadbeats to pay up!) Also thanks go out to http://www.socaluncensored.com/ and http://www.paradisecityninjas.bravehost.com for posting these things every now and then as well. Well guess that’s it… thank you for reading. If you’d like, leave feedback, comments or maybe your own thoughts on the upcoming card, right here or e-mail them to [email protected] (remove the xs) and if not… that’s cool… I can read your minds anyway! I know what you sick bastards are thinking… and for god’s sake get some professional help now! Until next time this is Paul Newberry saying, "Please remember to have your pets spayed or neutered"

Updated CZW Only the Strong: Scarred for Life Card

I don't see why you should complain. The IWS guys are often the highlight of the whole show. Why fault CZW for sticking with something that's clearly working? The World title scene is CZW's real problem.... hopefully that changes here.
  13. Good card. I've been waiting to see Joe Vs. Bradley for a while now. That should be an interesting one. Sydal Vs. Brandon, Shelley Vs. Williams, The cage match all look like alot of fun as well.

Updated CZW Only the Strong: Scarred for Life Card

Hmm..... looks like they changed the card for the better. Glad to see they are actually using the New H8 Club team in a major match. Just wish the CZW booking team would wake up and do a Super Dragon Vs. Kevin Steen angle..... and make it so 4 freaking guys don't hold the tag titles.

Gary Yap verbally rips the shit out of The Messiah

You can read? Cheers! Apparently so. Somehow I think Yap should keep this stuff private. It's none of our business..... it is however pretty funny in a sick kinda way. Dude, I posted the original post in the thread. Nothing in that post indicated that Messiah was arrested. It's called a "FOLLOWUP POST" to indicate that if you're interested, you should keep reading because there's more to the thread than just that original post. Twas a joke man! Yes I know a Joke is funny, not unfunny. Only a dumbass would think that was a joke. It looks NOTHING like a joke AT ALL. Now, seriously, does anyone know what that was? This shouldn't be such a damn hassle.

Gary Yap verbally rips the shit out of The Messiah

I don't really see the need to spread this stuff.... but oh well... I'd recommend reading the whole thread to get the maximum comedic effect: http://prowrestlingwar.proboards40.com/ind...display&start=0 Odd stuff.... It seems like they talk about everything on that board! Except.... for maybe wrestling... and Billy Joel. I think I'm going to change that though! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll go make a Billy Joel topic......
