WON News + Notes, January 22nd Issue
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to The Decemberists's topic in The WWE Folder
WWE doesn't worry about the IC title getting on the show anymore. My guess is there will be MITB and no way they do a ladder match without throwing Hardy in there. -
I like D'Antoni and his system has definately turned the Suns into winners, but I find it hard calling him one of the best coaches in the league when he does not know how to use the bench. Every year people claim the Suns bench is weak, every year it gets stronger and the same thing happens.

I could not find a cut out at three different Wal-Marts, but one I went to had a few assorted ones crammed in an endcap, I was able to pick up a couple decent ones. Ya, but they're all around $20 instead of $3. Not at the one I went to. It was like half wrestling and half exercise. I got Taboo Tuesday 2004, Badd Blood 2004, Superstar Billy Graham and Brock Lesnar for $3.88. My friend got Rumble 04 for $3.88 and this year's Rumble for $8.88 and they had a lot more assorted from the two sales. They had a lot of $20 ones in the main section, but on the end of the aisle they had the sale ones. Like I said though, I went to three different Wal-Marts in a 2 mile radius and only found those few at one. The other two had nothing, even the one that had it, they weren't in a cardboard display.

Box Office Report 1/05-07
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Television & Film
It wasn't so bad. It wasn't great but it wasn't horrible either, just one of those just there type of movies. However if you want to see Dick Van Dyke do a booty shake dance in credits, this is the movie for you. That old man can still dance up a storm. Robin Williams wasn't over the top, that was the most surprising thing about the film. I just went in not knowing what to expect and I enjoyed it. Just go in looking to see a movie. It was just light and fun. The Dick Van Dyke part is good, but Mickey Rooney was flat out gold for the whole movie. -
Best movies that didn't actually exist

That's not quite as out there as the A-Team movie with Vince Vaughn in the Mr. T role. -
From that picture, it is obvious that Mercury's injury is a work to promote "See No Evil". Own the DVD today!

Went and saw Night at the Museum last night and for the first time in a while, I wanted to see every movie they showed a preview of. It started with Simpsons Movie teaser, Fantastic Four 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer teaser, Evan Almighty, Spider-man 3 and ended with Ocean's 13. I think there may have been another, I was just surprised at a good round of previews. Now, I had made that judgment before they showed Ocean's, but, I'll probably see that anyway, so that's why it stands at all previews of movies I'd go see. -
Oh, okay. I thought he said 100 in each. I think he could get 50 easily in all then. The Suns will let him score and just outscore him, D'Antoni even said that himself when the grudge was announced. Portland's been better this year, but he could still easily score crazy on them. Also, Celtics start their first of two-three weeks without Pierce tonight.
-
And Portland too. He has vowed 4 100 point games this season. I eagerly await ESPN's coverage tonight.

I enjoyed this movie and wound up buying it, but I do agree with you. I GREATLY prefer the first one. I think that some things will get fixed or explained through the last one, but I definately agree it should have been shorter. I had seen it in the theaters, and when I watched the DVD, I thought it was almost done and wound up still having an hour left.

Larry Brown should have one more job so he doesn't go out with that Knicks disaster, but if he coaches in Philly, it won't help. I would not hire Larry Brown if I was a coach of a young team, he shouldn't have done New York in the first place and that means no Philly, no Charlotte, no Boston, no team that is based around the young stars (like Philly is going to become). Larry Brown still has the old school mentality when it comes to young players and that won't help in any of those franchises. I really was glad they named Nelson in Golden State instead of the slight Brown rumors because Nelson has turned the Warriors around by giving guys like Biedrins and Monta Ellis a chance. That's not Brown. He should get one more shot, but it needs to be with a vetern heavy franchise.
-
It's the exact same situation as Larry Bird and the Celtics. The Celtics should have given Bird the reigns, instead they gave them to Rick Pitino and now Danny Ainge is playing with the team. I mean, I like the young guys that Ainge has picked up, but that's about it. I am afraid he'll probably end up getting rid of the wrong ones on top of it. I think Robert Parish put it best when he said the Celtics are best suited to lock Ainge in a closet after the draft each year. If Bird had the power in Boston he has in Indiana, and got the job when he should've, I say the Celtics would've already had another Finals appearance, if not another championship by now.

OAO ECW Thread for 12/19/06
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I agree completely. Test plays the dick heel real well, I think he has fun doing it. I went to one of the ECW house shows a couple months back and Test was one of the main highlights. Before the show even started, waiting outside for the doors to open, there were very few people around and the wrestlers had to drive by the entrance, so all these wrestlers were stopping to sign where most guys drive in. All these people were camped out in front of the driveway when this truck comes flying up slamming on the horn. It was Test with Kelly, he rolls down the window and shouts "Outta the way, ya marks!" It was really funny. After he parked, all people were calling him over and he made some smarmy comment instead of coming over. You could tell he wasn't completely serious, but he was having fun being in character. Then, during the show, when all there were some Test is Gay or something chants, and he grabs the mic and starts saying how all these people can say that because while they are buying the Diva merchandise, he's banging them. It was pretty classic. And it was Test. I say let him run as the dick heel and it could lead to some fun stuff happening. -

If I remember correctly, Kimberly was one of the people WWE was most interested in during the purchase of WCW, but she was too set on working toward her acting career. -

Shane McMahon wins the ECW title and closes the company, so it can die at its peak.

Things we didn't know a year ago

Chris Jericho's only appearance in 2006 would be in a music video for TNA. -
I love seeing Borat nominated. Not that it will win either. That Best Actor in a comedy is interesting to say the least just in terms of I would see them giving it to the Kinky Boots guy just because they wouldn't award the others (although most likely Johnny Depp). Even though it's the Globes, I think the Best Supporting Actor is by far the most interesting category in terms of picking a winner. Also, I was surprised to see DiCaprio and Eastwood get two nominations in the same category. I just don't remember ever seeing that before.

So...who's up for another movie that shouldn't be made?
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Yeah, I read Jason Lee signed on to the project a while back too. The images though... just wow. Also, how many problems you think are going to come up with slogan "One Nation... Under Dog"? I see a bunch of religious group commotion coming about. -

They had them all for like $14 or something at Costco about a week ago. I got Season 3 there. I think there were that price at Sam's Club too. Seasons 1-4 that is, Season 5 just came out a couple months ago. -

I rented Ten Commandments the Musical for kicks, but didn't get around to watching it. Apparently the guy who played The Mummy in the Brenden Fraiser movies is in it too. -
I didn't realize that, but it doesn't surprise me either because I think I remember seeing he was injured and needing some time off before then. Isn't he working hurt?

Touristas I've seen a lot of ads for... usually late night Comedy Central. Nativity I've only seen posters and Van Wilder I saw a TV ad once or twice.

wow, 2nd week and Tenacious D isn't even Top 12. Ouch.
