Movies that didn't warrant a sequal
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Epic Reine's topic in Television & Film
Oh! How could I forget Son of Mask?!? That one came close to so bad it is somewhat entertaining, but not close enough. Pretty awful. I only saw it because 1) It was free and 2) Dumb and Dumberer wasn't as bad as I expected. That movie may have killed Jamie Kennedy's career (I refuse to say Malibu's Most Wanted did.. it's a guilty pleasure) -

I get torn on this game because one minute I love it, I'm having fun... then the next, something cheap happens that makes me dislike this game. I mean, I'm not great, but there were moments in season mode that I played on Normal difficulty that seemed unreasonable. On the other hand, I had a few unexpected matches that I would add to the Greatest Video Game Wrestling Matches thread if I had the energy to go back and find it. While I was doing my season as Orlando Jordan, I had to do the submission match against Kurt Angle during Urning Your Spot. I had like a 25 minute classic. It was back and forth, Kurt was juiced... OJ dominated, but match was getting late, he started to fade (plus he doesn't really have too many submissions). Angle snaps in a hold which OJ reverses for the victory. I don't remember full details as much now, seeing it was a couple weeks ago now... but I marked out at the end. Great drama, fun victory... though I would've been ticked had the decision gone the other way.

like who? only ones I can think of are Keith David, Anthony Anderson and Larenz Tate's brother? did you mean them? Tate and Anderson were kinda insignificant to the movie. Yeah, Tate and Anderson were two of my favorites... I know they weren't that huge of a deal in the first one, but I held a grudge against them not being in it. Others I talked to felt the same way. I REALLY liked the first one though, the second one was just kinda there and cheapened the first one for the people who hadn't seen it yet. I didn't like all the segues into Cedric's character's past...they just seemed so odd and unnecessary. Exactly. I think because Cedric was SO popular in the first one, they wanted to do more with him, but like you said.. it was just extremely strange. -

The one that sticks out for me most was Barbershop. Some of the best characters aren't even in number 2. Most of the straight to video Disney stuff. It is just reverse of the original (Little Mermaid 2, Lady and the Tramp 2 and the lot). I don't think Cheaper by the Dozen needed one, although I haven't seen the sequel to be fair. I was kinda disappointed in Transporter 2. I just thought the first one was so awesome, I was a little let down when I saw the new one. -
Same boat here. There were certain things on SNL I laughed at Jimmy Fallon, but Jimmy Fallon wasn't exactly one of my favorite SNL cast members. I saw this because I've been a life long Sox fan. I enjoyed it a lot, I think because I am a Sox fan and can sadly relate to some of the movie.

BoxOffice Report 1/06-108
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Television & Film
The ads look like the ones you'd see for a syndicated fantasy series. Seriously. That's exactly what I think every time the ads run for it on TV. The production quality on the trailer is so cheap! I never realize it until they name drop Ben Kingsley. -
So, I figured I would start an official thread for Grandma's Boy, and may be the only poster in it considering the crowd when I went to an 8 o'clock show tonight. This week more people will probably see Munich and Hostel, but I figured I'd throw in a thread. Trailers attached before were MI:3, Benchwarmers (Spade/Schneider/Heder/Lovitz), Big Momma's House 2 and Ice Age 2 that I can remember. Only one I hadn't seen before was Benchwarmers and although not looking as funny as I had hoped, I'll probably still see. In my opinion, it was alright, as known by the preview, the usual background people show up for more of the main parts, along with stand up and gay rollerblader on Reno 911 Nick Swardson. I had some laughs, didn't realize it was a pot comedy, not that mattered. Overall nothing to go out of your way for like the R-Rated comedies of the summer, but enjoyable enough if you are bored and not looking for anything serious. And to tie into this being a wrestling board, Kevin Nash makes a brief appearance and lots of wrestling stuff shows up in the movie (although not discussed). Items include: A Benoit action figure, A William Regal action figure, the Eugene teddy bear, Randy Orton bobblehead, another bobblehead I can't remember (I think the Undertaker), I think some Stacy posters and on Nick Swardson's computer desktop, he has a picture of John Cena with his own head photoshopped on. I am wondering if Nash got in with Sandler's gang during Longest Yard and will appear in more, I was surprised to see him walk in during the first scene.

Grandma's Boy OaO thread

Yeah, it was pretty rough, however it hit me today that I neglected my favorite trailer of the night. They also had the trailer for V for Vendetta, which was the first time I saw the trailer on it. -

yeah, I'd wonder that too seeing as almost every temptation possible was thrown at him in the original trilogy until he "brought balance". -
WOW. Thanks so much. Bret's my all time favorite, and since I have a Tower Records gift card, I was going to get the set that way, but I might as well buy it this way since it'll be like $18 cheaper, before shipping. EDIT: Show up as $22.00 when I addit to my cart. yeah, I just checked it now and it is showing up as $22.99. Must've been a mistake and they caught it... sorry.

After realizing I needed to do a season to earn attribute points for my CAW before really using it in story mode, I started a season mode with Orlando. I got Legends, then Urning Your Spot and right now I am on Time to Rumble (I just got the game last week).

I'm not sure if this warrants a whole thread, so I will post it here. For those who have yet to get the Bret set, go to FYE.com: http://shop.fye.com/product.aspx?sku=40722374&loc=59243 I got an e-mail about the bestselling DVDs of the year because I ordered stuff there. I saw stuff like the Warrior one and Rise and Fall of ECW for $15, I kept flipping, they are selling the Bret set for $12.99! Last I knew all orders over $49 got free shipping, but still $12.99 for the Bret set is the best I've seen for that nice 3 disc set.

I didn't see it on here, but I remember seeing a dark match of Shannon Moore vs. Spanky months before Spanky debuted in the WWE. I want to say it was October 2002... can't remember for sure. All I remember was it was before a Smackdown taping and it was a fun little match, but a mark next to me was complaining the whole time because it wasn't the Undertaker. I'm not even exaggerating either. It was like a 40 year old man just sitting there during Kendrick/Moore saying stuff like "Dead Man Walking!" That match was followed by a second dark match of Val Venis/Bill DeMott vs. Bull Buchanon/Shelton Benjamin.

I hate that the music gets altered too, for the same reason as the person who mentioned the Jericho thing earlier... certain songs just add to what is going on. The highlight videos used to go to the music, some generic music won't have the same effect. For some people asking about the changes, this article was actually put on the front page of Yahoo news last night and fills in some questions, along with note similar gripes: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051226/tv_nm/dvd_dc_1 -
Huge list of $10 clearance games at Toys R Us

I went this morning planning to pick up Batman Begins on PS2 as a gift for a friend. They had some in bins, most notably all I saw were a bunch of Killzone and Bloodrayne 2 though, not the one I was looking for. Decent stuff there, great price, just nothing that jumped out. -

Another thing to keep in mind with Cheif Morley is he didn't wrestle that much. He really did not get into the ring often until Regal went out, so they made him Storm's partner. -
How long before we get a remake of Wizard of Oz? Not til Beyonce's schedule opens.... although now that I type that, last year there was the Muppet Wizard of Oz on TV with Ashanti as Dorothy... but that is not quite a remake.
