    Theo Epstein leaves Red Sox

as a Sox fan, I am beginning to worry it is returning to the days where Troy O'Leary was the star of the team. Even with the rumors of everyone leaving, I was still feeling somewhat comfortable if Theo was around... now... I don't know what baseball is going to be like for me.

    Huge haul at KB Toys

I did pretty decent, surprisingly, on Saturday. There were mostly only sports games left, but I picked up two copies of Tiger Woods 2004 for Xbox and two copies of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. TW was marked $10 and HP was marked $5, but all had orange tags and the sign said all orange tags, Buy 1, Get 1 50% off. I got all four for $24. I am keeping a Tiger Woods and giving the others as gifts, but overall, a nice haul considering I got all for the price of one usually.

Toys R Us Buy 2 Get 1 Game Free Sale

Well, I've only had a little bit of opportunity to play so far, but it's been alright what I've played. You can do versus, so basically Street Fighter, or the story mode. Only 6 characters are available until you start doing the story. I played like the first part of the story. You start as one character, then can continue on their next stage or go to one other person they open up a story of as you are closing your first stage. In those stages, thus far, it's just a smash em up. In short, I enjoy it so far, however I tend not to be extremely picky on my games if it's about something I like, but I'd definately say at least rent worthy, even if it only ends up just seeing for yourself.

Chris Kanyon speaks out on his arrest.

geez, I never saw the official report and this is nuts. I've always enjoyed Kanyon and it stinks that he had to go through this. I guess everything I am adding is just echoing everyone else, but Kanyon could have been a great high mid-carder, he just got injured at the wrong time.

    Stand back!

they held back on this so long, I am surprised it finally happened. I've liked Helms since WCW, I've been a mark for Sugar Shane and the Hurricane, but was it said if this happened because of all the storms lately? I mean, conveinently, when several hurricanes are happening, the gimmick suddenly drops.

    Eugene Breaks Character

I would mark for that, especially if when he gets caught he starts singing "Chicken pot, chicken pot, chicken pot pie!"

I stopped by today and picked up Marvel Nemisis, X-men Legends II and Hulk Ultimate Destruction. I was going between Warriors and Hulk, but just decided to make it an all comic game day.

    OAO Taboo Tuesday Voting Thread

I voted: Big Show therefore making Kane and HBK Submission match for Flair/HHH Street Fight for Austin/Coach Dude Love to face Carlito Kamala to team with Eugene Christian to represent Smackdown, as I want to see Christian/Mysterio (who is going to be there no doubt) Divas I think I picked cheerleader

a few of my favorites are already listed on here, but I am surprised that no one yet has said "The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers Video Store".

    Batman SE DVDs coming

I don't remember the exact burger, but I remember from Batman Forever they did the huge McDonald's crossover. I remember they had a burger and the glass mugs, as well as the line early on "I'll get Drive-Thru" prominantly being featured in commercials for McDonald's. Now that I think about it, Taco Bell had the promotion for Batman & Robin. To stay on topic, I just love these SEs. I hadn't bought any of them before on DVD just because I was waiting for the SEs and they were definately worth the wait. From the box and DVD menu right down to the features, this set is pretty sweet.

    Charles Rocket dead

I know Charles Rocket. I've seen some of the 80s SNLs, plus read the "Live from New York" book where they talk a little about the F-Bomb incident. Haven't seen this name in a while, strange to read this.

TV on DVD sale at Target this week, $18.88

I had been thinking about picking up Smallville recently. I saw the ad so headed into Target yesterday morning. I picked up: Smallville Season 1 One Tree Hill Season 1 Nip/Tuck Season 1 Without A Trace Season 1 Everybody Loves Raymond Season 1 Ones that weren't listed below I noticed were the Without A Trace like I got, Everybody Loves Raymond Season 2, ER Seasons 1 and 2. A lot of these being Warner Brothers, have that mail-in rebate also. So getting a lot of them get you a good chunk of money back. Warner Brothers have the rebate from anywhere from buying 2-6 sets. 6 sets, $50 back. You get six sets for 113 plus tax, then fifty bucks back, eventually landing 53 plus tax for 6 box sets, pretty good deal.

    From India it came!

My favorite line is where Batman says aloud: It's time for Night Patrol of Bruce Wayne Alias Batman. That's some classic dialogue there.

Great spots from Wrestling Video Games

I had a markout moment tonight on Smackdown vs. Raw. I hadn't played this game in a while, so I popped it in. First match of the night I did 3 Stages of Hell - Christian (me) vs. HBK. First match is a Hardcore match. We go back and forth, blow for blow, very fun, competitive match with most trademark spots being hit. I've built up all my finishers, so I knock HBK, give him one Unprettier. Do the Christian chest tap, do a second Unprettier. Do the taunt again, pick him up for number three, I get knocked in the head, Sweet Chin Music! HBK takes the first fall out of nowhere. That would've been cool enough, but it keeps going. Round two is a ladder match. Same thing, very back and forth until the very end where Christian barely snatches a win before HBK can grab him. This leads to the finale. It's tied 1-1. Both men tie up and are brawling. Starts in the ring, goes along the cage, on the ringside, on the tables. Christian knocks down HBK and climbs up the cage, they brawl on top of the cage. Christian hits HBK, HBK stumbles near the edge. Christian is blocked, HBK punches him. HBK goes for another punch, block, HBK is stunned, Christian hits HBK with Sweet Chin Music OFF THE CELL! Christian climbs down and pins HBK I think in a fitting way to end the match. Back and forth and out of desparation, Christian hits HBK with HIS OWN MOVE, off the top of the cell to win! I hadn't seen any finisher successfully go well off the cage, so this was total markout for me... especially after the matches already.

Will Matt lose his heat by going to Smackdown?

Well, it's the contract in the briefcase, right? Not the actual briefcase that gets the shot. What if Hardy snatches the briefcase, opens it up to celebrate, and it is empty, or has some thing insulting in there. It works because if he wins, he still has it, no one knows. If he loses, no one can punish him, he's off the show. Edge runs off cackling into a Smackdown limo or something as the show ends. In the future they can give Hardy a sympathy title shot, or start anti-WWE Matt again by saying "well, tough luck... again". It's longshot, but definately something different. I also think Edge would probably fit better on Smackdown, but I have a hard time seeing him leave RAW.

Box Office Report for Sept. 17th-18th

Ditto. I mean, a PG-13 Slasher pic? That's like an R-Rated Hardcore Porno. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The initial previews made it look cool, but as it got closer, I grew weary. I was in the theater to see it this weekend, but ended up not staying. It was Saturday and they had it in one of the small screens in the theater. The placed was packed, which I didn't mind, but packed with a crowd that wasn't going to make it enjoyable. There was a group of five high school aged boys still questioning their sexuality sitting to the left of me that couldn't stop touching each other and a family in the front, complete with screaming baby in stroller and two kids between 4 and 6 that were running around. I guess I'll try to catch it next week.

    Marvel = WWE

I'll watch these. Hell, I rented Man-Thing when it came out on DVD. I was under the impression a few of these would be animated projects though? I know not all of them would do extremely well, but certain ones, mainly Captain America, are still better known heroes that an adaption could at least break even.

    Best Buy Clearance Sale

some of these I wanted anyway and some of these I'd pick up just for the price. I guess I'll have to check Best Buy on the way home from work tomorrow. I did check online and the only one that wasn't sold out that I was looking at was Xbox-Rocky Legends, but rather than the 4.99 on this list, it is showing up as 9.99. Also, is there an ad on this? Usually Circuit City will honor and I have had had them honor by calling Best Buy before... so I may attempt that on some...

    Sin City on DVD soon...

I don't know if anyone else reported it yet or read it, but I saw an interview with Robert Rodriguez the other day where he said that the Sin City DVD coming out on the 16th of this month will be a barebones addition because the studio is releasing a 2-Disc version this December. Here is an interview about the releases here: Robert Rodriguez Interview Although many could probably see it coming, I am pretty disappointed. There aren't that many DVD releases coming out with the exception of some rereleases (i.e. Tommy Boy Special Edition) that I actually want. This was one of the ones I looked forward to. From the sounds of the interview, I guess I can wait the four months, just kind of disappointing when this month was already going to be a slow month to DVD. I guess it will make up for it with some decent theatrical stuff I want to see.
