I think the whole reason the Hogan talk is coming up is to start the pre-production on a No Holds Barred sequel.

seems like a different batch. I think last years was probably stronger from what I know so far, however there are a few I would see. The Strangers with Candy movie should be decent at least.

A-trains Indy name is set to be......
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to a topic in General Wrestling
Is there a copyright on Albert? It seems like that would be a hard one to lock up. I understand a full name (i.e. Shawn Michaels), but I would think it would be hard to get just "Albert" to be sole property of WWE. Baldo-Train though? He'd be better of being Al-Train or even Big Al. -
First female coach in men's basketball fired...
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Sports
Phil Jackson would never coach the Clippers. He only coaches a team if it has the most dominating player of its generation on it. As for this, I hadn't heard this yet and I've been looking at all the ABA, CBA and NBDL websites lately just to see what old guys are still hanging around. It'll be interesting to see where McElhiney ends up, I'd say she could have a shot as an assistant in the NBA sometime soon, but I still don't know if, other than a PR stunt, a team would be ready to hire a female head coach yet, or how some of the "Big Contract, Big Shots" of the NBA would take it. -
Games that are cheap at most stores
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Matt Young's topic in Video Games
It's very rare anywhere has a differing price unless it is on sale. There are a few exceptions (I bought my friend the X-box Paintball game for Christmas at Best Buy for $20 and everywhere else it was still $50, but even that was changed within the next week). The only break you might catch if you are trying to do that is sometimes Circuit City has the best sales, where thye will take something that's $50 and make it like $37, but keep in mind, although Wal-Mart doesn't take reciepts, they do track it. They check your driver's liscense and will know if you make a regular habit of doing it, along with seeming somewhat suspicious trading in a bunch of games for credit with no reciept. -
This is the one game I am really looking forward to after my Christmas haul and getting the Punisher. Although, as a new owner of the X-Box, I don't hate RAW 2 as much as others. Sure, it's no Smackdown, but I mark out for any game where I can make an overly gay wrestler prancing out in pink fog to the Backstreet Boys and being announced as "The Super Cowboy". Just how awesome that entrance turned out was worth my 20 bucks alone.

While I thought the same at that point for Dallas, I've seen most of the Suns game and the thing that is making Nash and the Suns click so well is their speed. They are a fast team, but Nash dictates that pace. While the rest of the team is good, they are clueless without Nash pushing them. I think a Shaq/Nash combo would be kind of like the T-mac/Yao combo. Two all-star players, but completely different styles, causing the team to underachieve. That was part of how the Suns smacked the Heat when they played, the only one on the Heat who could keep up with the Suns running was Wade. I'd say Nash with James in second place. James will be a multiple time MVP by the time it is done (probably even in the next couple years), but this year is Steve Nash's year.

Official Royal Rumble 05 Entrance List
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
The Sheik thing has to be fake. I really don't understand why they would be bringing back Sheik. He is too old to do anything entertaining (as seen by his Gimmick Battle Royal appearance) and there are several more legends or comedy gimmicks that would get a better pop than he would. Throwing someone out there as Doink again would work better than Sheik. -

When Did You Stop Watching On A Regular Basis?
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Chazz's topic in The WWE Folder
This is me. Around that time (late 2002) I really toned down how often I watched and even my wrestling purchases. I caught the Smackdown Six when I remembered (I've always had a problem remembering when Smackdown is on). Other than that, I can't remember last time I absolutely had to sit down and watch a whole episode. I bought some of the PPV DVDs, but I realized the PPV DVD I got was Wrestlemania XX when it first came out and the last couple DVDs I got were the specialty ones when they were released: ECW, Benoit, Foley and Flair. I don't know what it was, but I just kind of lost touch. I still follow the news and buy the video games, but other than that, not much... and this is coming from someone who on some weeks would tape everything, even if I was watching anyone, every show possible, I would catch, now its a hassle to even catch RAW. -
This is my problem with the Oscars though. It should be best of that year. If Fellowship was the best that year, who cares if it is a trilogy? If that's the issue, don't bother nominating it then. I felt Two Towers probably should have won the year it was upm when Chicago won (I liked it, it did some unique stuff, but VASTLY overrated) and something else should've won last year than Return of the King. They made up for every year, giving ROTK everything and it kinda shot the credibility. Everything else got tossed to the side. I mean, the way it was, if it wasn't such an ensemble cast, I bet they would've thrown them the Best Actor, Best Actress and so forth awards too. This is the same thing with the Russell Crowe winning for Gladiator and Washington winning for Training Day mess, is that the Academy gives "make-up" awards, and I just don't think it is right.

London won a four way with Funaki in it? Does that make London new champ? Will they add London vs. Funaki to Rumble now?
-
Part of the no Fahrenheit was back after it came out, Michael Moore said he was not entering it in the Documentary field of the awards, just the regular. He just wanted to be up for Best Picture and possibly Best Director. My guess is he did that as he knows the Academy dislikes him now and can use it as an excuse "People still don't accept documentary film!" Last year, although I enjoyed Bill Murray's performance and knew it wasn't the best in the field, I wanted to see him win. Just because all the other nominee were always there and this was the one time I could see Murray being nominated. I don't think he'll ever get that close again. Although, the trophy going to Sean Penn should've been for 21 Grams, when they gave it for Mystic River.

Moss may be headed to Oakland? Are the Raiders still going to get Ricky Williams too? Last I knew, once he was fully reinstated, that was where he wanted to go and where Miami was most likely to ship him. That would have Moss, Williams and Sapp on the same team. There could be some entertainment value in that.

add in Rosario Dawson and Lindsay Lohan also
-
I honestly think this is the worst year ever for nominations. There was a lot of lousy stuff not even mentioned and stuff that didn't really merit being on the list. The nominating all the Fahrenheit stuff is making a joke of themselves too. Not that I am a Michael Moore supporter or anything, but using clips of interviews for the Actor and Supporting Actress categories just doesn't click for me. I mean, I know it's not anything to be taken seriously, but it just comes across as lazy and/ or uninspired to me.

I hadn't seen this posted before. I read it the other day and figured I would throw it out for discussion

Tobey was pretty well known when Spider-man came out. Not as well known as he is now, however before Spider-man he did:Wonder Boys, Cider House Rules and Pleasantville among smaller parts in films like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Not a top of the list guy, but he was starting to get some buzz.

Tarantino DVDs & Others 3-for-$30

I bought Chappelle's Platinum Comedy Series DVD the day it came out in the summer of 2003. It is amazing. It is his HBO special "Killing Them Softly". -
Stone Cold Steve Austin & Vince McMahon.
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to iliketurtles's topic in The WWE Folder
That's my only thought too. I think the Rundown and Walking Tall were fun, along with his Mummy related movies. Although he is kind of hidden in the crowd, from the preview it seems like Rocky and Vince Vaughn will steal the show. -
I don't know how it comes off in the show, but now with JBL acting like he did in the report, this feud has teased both the the heels turning face now: JBL on this show and the night this all started, for Angle's title shot.

Who will WWE management give the lead roles to?

Big Momma's House II: Super-Sized -
The major difference though, is that the cover art and specs/match listings have already been released for RVD's DVD. No info was ever formally released for Angle's DVD. It's possible that stores already received shipments of the RVD DVD. A lot of DVD titles are shipped several weeks before street date. However, they're not allowed to sell those titles until the official street date. Some stores will break street date anyway, which is how people often receive certain titles early. As an example, I remember someone on this board saying that he got Eddie's DVD (I think it was from Wal-Mart) several weeks before street date. Yeah, depending on distribution they can show up even as early as three weeks that I've seen. If you ever see some store that puts stuff out early and it is a store you don't really like, there are hotline numbers to report it and those who are caught get a pretty hefty fine.

Meltzer on JBL's Wrestlemania opponent
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to JoeDirt's topic in The WWE Folder
Despite that someone could get the huge rub of winning the Rumble, I would kinda mark out if Rocky was a surprise entrant of the Rumble and won. It would be cool in the moment, but long term, it just doesn't make sense. -
wasn't Flair doing something on the flight too?
