Carlito Carribean Cool injured
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Zetterberg is God's topic in The WWE Folder
well, a lot of people were expecting Holly as the next partner for Eddie's team. This gives them a chance to plug him in easier than before, whether Carlito can still be at the PPV or not. If he does, he is rewarded for taking out a member of Angle's team, if Carlito can still wrestle, than Holly was the one that tried to take him out. -
As far as I know, movies and music are not allowed to be put out until release dates, however video games can be put out whenever they are received. The reason being that movies and music are set release dates by the companies whereas video games are projected due to completion and production. There are some exceptions to the rule, as I know places that got Star Wars Battlefront had to hold it in backrooms and such until the 21st of September per memo from Lucas Arts.

Kido, the Red Rooster/Brawler segment that originally took place on Prime Time? The one with Gorilla? If so, IN COMPLETE AGREEMENT. I mentioned this segment in the "Funniest Moments that weren't supposed to be Funny" thread. I will say it again, that is probably the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. That's it. BEST SEGMENT EVER. That might be the first and only time I've ever seen Gorilla get involved in anything(Brawler hit him with a stool), after his retirement......... I've never seen that. I do remember Gorrilla getting a Vader Bomb though

They must do this every year this year. I remember last year I got Ninja Turtles, Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain and Batman: Rise of Sin-Tzu on this special.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to The Dames's topic in Sports
A postseason acquisition I see likely that no one has mentioned for the Yankees is Nomar. I believe, especially seeing he is a free agent, Yankees will attempt to have Nomar at 2nd base. They are going to replace some pitching and there is no big name at 1st or 2nd yet. Brown is no doubt done. I see Nomar and Randy Johnson as Yankees almost for certain next year. I did not know Clement was an option, but I see the Yankees trying to get someone maybe like Zito and still being after Carlos Delgado. -
When you were a kid...........
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to 1234-5678's topic in General Wrestling
Hasbro stopped at the end of 1994. The last line was the Green Card series which I believe was Adam Bomb, 1-2-3 Kid, Billy Gunn, Bart Gunn, Ludvig Borga and I think a repaint of Yokozuna. Jakks then picked up the line at the end of 1995 with Bret, HBK, Diesel, Razor, Undertaker and the new guy, Goldust. Series 2 was Bret, HBK, Taker with new guys in Warrior, Owen Hart and Vader. I don't remember too much of my Hasbro fed back in the day other than the fact I loved Virgil. My Jakks fed I remember a lot of, with Ken Shamrock as a pretty dominating champion. I also ran a Toybiz WCW fed for a little bit and eventually, with the release of ECW toys, started all three feds from scratch and made one giant fed. I had a 128 man tournament (all were different wrestling figures from Hasbro to Jakks to Bendums) which culminated in Val Venis being crowned champion. Val had a nice long run until he was defeated by The Rock at Wrestlemania who dropped the strap before the night ended to Billy Gunn (the matches were set up Wrestlemania X style, Gunn had fought Yokozuna earlier in the night). Gunn went on to feud with Kevin Nash and when I booked that feud, I realized it was time to call it quits, although Tommy Dreamer was booked to feud with the winner. I used to post on some old figure message boards with these feds too, so I have a lot of the old results written down still. I think my best match was at Wrestlemania it was Billy Kidman vs. Al Snow in an Intercontinental Title Ladder Match. -
Gene Snitsky... the next big monster.

The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to The Dames's topic in Sports
Varitek - Seattle Mariners Millar - Florida Marlins Bellhorn - Oakland Athletics (surprise, surprise) Cabrera - Montreal Expos Mueller - San Francisco Giants Ramirez - Cleveland Indians Damon - Kansas City Royals Nixon - Boston Red Sox Ortiz - Seattle Mariners (signed as a free agent in 1992) Schilling - Boston Red Sox (originally drafted by Boston) Pedro - Los Angeles Dodgers Arroyo - Pittsburgh Pirates Timlin - Toronto Blue Jays Foulke - San Francisco Giants I know these guys all came from other teams, I guess I just worded it funny. My point is, who knew of Varitek as a Mariner? Who knew of Millar as a Marlin or Mueller as a Giant? Very few unless you followed the team. Take a look at the Yankees team and you knew who mostly everyone was from their pre-Yankee career. -
Gene Snitsky... the next big monster.
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
You left out Shane McMahon. Although I did throw Shane in there, I don't think it was bad Snitsky won. They need new faces and new heels. Kane is going to make a movie, so someone needs to be there. While I don't agree with the angle, I think it is good to have someone new and fresh and makes it more interesting when it was someone with no hype. He came out of nowhere, figured to be a squash guy and now he is a top heel. Surprising? Yes, but I enjoy that element. -
The ALCS: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to The Dames's topic in Sports
I don't think the Red Sox are nearly as close to as bad as the Yankees. Yes, the Sox have the 2nd highest, but look at the lineups. Sox are: Damon, Bellhorn, Ramirez, Ortiz, Varitek, Millar, Nixon, Mueller and Cabrera Their aces are Schilling, Pedro, Lowe, Wakefield and Arroyo with Foulke, Lescanic, Myers and Timlin in the bullpen. Yankees are: Jeter, Rodriguez, Sheffield, Matsui, Posada, Williams, Cairo, Clark/Olerud and Sierra Aces are Mussina, Lieber, Brown, Hernandez and Vasquez with Loiaza, Gordon, Quantrill and Rivera in the pen. This doesn't include bench, or guys who didn't make the roster such as Williamson for Boston and Giambi for New York. Now, of the non-home grown, who had heard of these players before hand? The only ones I'd say for Boston are Ramirez, Schilling, Pedro Foulke and possibly Damon and Cabrera. Who was a known player before becoming a Yankee? Rodriguez, Sheffield, Olerud, Sierra, Mussina, Brown, Vasquez, Loiaza, Gordon with a possibility of Matsui for his play overseas. While Red Sox are close, a lot of their guys became big in their new spots, similar has happened in New York to guys like Quantrill, however New York buys much more. Granted Sierra has been playing DH lately with Lofton on the bench, but they had a guy like Sierra to come in and hit a home run when needed at their access. The Red Sox? Gabe Kapler or Dave McCarty. Red Sox picked up Leskanic as a middle reliever when the last place Royals cut him. Yankees take their choice of Gordon, Quantrill and Loaiza. Both teams have high payroll, yes, but it seems like there is more of a homegrown and team sense in Boston, whereas New York just becomes a conglomoration of the Super Powers, especially when they get Randy Johnson next year, among the other pickups I am sure they will get win or lose. I do think Boston is the best all around team right now, despite my previous Super Powers comment because they are moreso of a team and a complete one at that. I've been waiting to see them do this all series, as what the Yankees doing in the first few games to Boston is what the Sox should have been doing to them. -

I got a copy of "The Girl Next Door" for free when I wasn't supposed to on the night it came out. I went to Best Buy and during the late summer they were doing the deal if you sign up for Entertainment Weekly and NetFlix, you saved like $5 bucks on the DVD and got it for like $10 to $12 bucks. The special for that week was Girl Next Door, which I figured I could wait the month til it goes Pre-Viewed at most stores. I decided last second just to do the deal on it, as it would be about the same price and I was getting a bunch of other stuff with Gift Cards and Reward Zone certificates anyway. When I got to the drawer, the girl ringing me up wasn't paying much attention and I left thinking it seemed like I got out of there cheap. I looked at the reciept when I got home and she had reduced the price of "The Girl Next Door" to 0.00, which was good, seeing it was one I didn't know if I really wanted anyway. As for deal wise: I recently got a copy of the Blair Witch two pack that looks brand new that also has a collector's pendent and the CD-Rom games for $10 at Babbages. I never saw this movie before, but Virgin had it in a 75% off bin, I got Flirting with Disaster for $1.75. My favorite still was when my store was getting rid of traded in stuff and I got a bunch of good DVDs (and some mediocre ones, just for fun) for $3.99. I also got the two-disc Gladiator in perfect condition for $6.99.

Is there anywhere to find out information...

Booker's is public domain, just like Hardcore Holly's old one, you sometimes hear it on commercials that one on commercials on TBS, I think. They used Booker T.'s song in a Kids in the Hall sketch a while back. -

yeah, but I think the Victoria bikini from WWE.com with Hershey Stains was worse. I mean, with Hacksaw, you expect it. This was something they were building as something sexy to buy... with a big brown streak down the middle. I know the Buff Bagwell was mentioned to, but remember when the big whiny guy from the first season of Tough Enough auctioned off a match?

Worst ending to a PPV?
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Australian Pride's topic in General Wrestling
What pissed me off was being there. The whole time everyone expected HHH would FINALLY lose, but as we all know, he never does. He wasn't even in the match more than two minutes. His door opened, he got knocked out by the Superkick (granted that spot was awesome), but then did not do anything else until he hits with the hammer and wins. Completely took away the thrill of the Elimination Chamber for me. -
I wouldn't have called Austin a no name jobber when he did that. He had been around since January, competed on a few PPVs and some people still knew him from WCW. Snitsky surprises me because it seems no one heard about him. It looked like he was going to be some local indy squah guy and ended up in a high-profile feud. As much as I don't like an abortion angle, I just think it is cool because it is so rare to have surprises and guys coming from no where these days.

I rented Live and the only thing it had going for it extra is the dunk contest, which, while a good concept, was terrible. I've been planning on getting ESPN and it will remain that way, especially for $15 at Best Buy.

I wasn't a huge fan of Conflict: Desert Storm II as a solo player, but really enjoyed it when doing multiplayer.

Despite what that IMDB post is, I think it will be someone out of nowhere too. I am going with someone that hasn't done much in a while: Superintendent Chalmers.

John Kerry on the Daily Show
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Ravenbomb's topic in Television & Film
The interview was okay, but I really respect him to go on a show like that. Some people think it may hurt their image, but I think it helped him with the younger generation more than hurt him at all. Speaking of the image thing, anyone hear how Laura Bush backed out of an event she knew P. Diddy was at? Whether you like P. Diddy or not, I thought the move was rather classless, as P. Diddy is actually running a campaign out of his own money for people to vote. Granted he isn't the best role model and he has tons of money, but he didn't need to and is trying to get people to vote. I think hearing that, around the same time with the Kerry appearance, helps Kerry a bit. While he did seem to be trying a little hard, it's little things like that which may influence the outcome.
