Flip Murray signed with the Hawks, terms not yet announced. Dan Dickau is going to play in Italy. Brandon Roy is needing knee surgey, have not seen how long he will be sidelined, if at all, yet.

I'd say that while it was a US Theatrical release in 2008, it does not count. If you look into it, it had been available on DVD in 2007. The DVD was not just a region 2 release, but there were releases in Canada to DVD in October 07, which means, although it would have taken some work, it could have been viewed in the US Pre-2008, therefore, IMO, does not count. Granted, that view could be argued too, but I would think that any movie that there was any opportunity to have seen pre-2008 should not count in that kind of contest. -
Batman: Akham Asylum
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in Video Games
WRONG!! -Adventures of Batman and Robin for Genesis is a freaking hard game but technically amazing with solid gameplay. -The original Sunsoft Batman The Video Game is really really good (with an awesome soundtrack, too). -Batman Returns (SNES) is a solid Final Fight-ish beat 'em up that got good reviews. -Batman Rise of Sin Tzu for GBA is a really good platformer/beat 'em up in the vein of the SNES Batman TAS game. Heck, the game that came before it (Batman Vengeance on GBA) is a pale, below-average copy of that SNES game. -There are many that consider the NES Return of the Joker a classic. I found it too freakin' hard to really enjoy, so your results may vary. Although the games are more often bad or mediocre, like most licensed games. I wasn't sure, but thanks. The only one I ever heard glowing reviews on was the Adventures of Batman & Robin. I never really pay too much attention to reviews. I used to love Batman Returns on SNES, didn't realize it was well-liked. I also have a soft spot for the PS2 version of Sin Tzu. I used to love that game and knew no one else who had played it. -
How dare you poke fun at the comments of 'boneracademy' like that! He may be onto something...

Batman: Akham Asylum
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to LivingLegendGaryColeman's topic in Video Games
This is based off the comics. The article mentions several enemies and shows pictures of Joker and Killer Croc (who looks awesome but maybe a little too large IMO). There are some clown thugs that are eerily reminiscent of something like the first Manhunt. The Game Informer people say in the gameplay they tested they also saw Mr. Zsasz and Harley Quinn. Other confirmed are Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze and it says others they don't want to spoil. Commisioner Gordon will have a large role in the game and Oracle will be a remote radio contact, no word on Robin or Nightwing yet. It is said to have Bioshock feel to it. -

I know what you mean. Lego should be solid, but this write-up gave me faith that I hope doesn't get broken. I mean, there is only, one generally well reviewed Batman game and that was for SNES? They were saying how the developers sat down and discussed important factors. I don't know too much about Eidos and Rocksteady Studios but they are emphasizing there are no deadlines until they are happy with it. I think the premise inside of just Arkham and the possibilities helps out too. -

Just noticed this was mentioned in CTDWAT, so this can be gotten rid of if the Mods want. -

Yeah, there are still a few titles ONLY available on PS2, or if they are multiple platform it is like Wii and PS2. Not that they are masterpieces, but they exist. The bigger surprise to me at one point I heard Madden 09 was going to come out for original X-Box. Madden 08 was supposed to be the last game, but at one point I saw 09 was gonna be released. -
Been home on sick leave the past few days. I was flipping channels and saw Shelton Benjamin's momma carrying around a toilet on a Nickelodeon show.

Desert Island Draft, Comics Edition

Yeah, not the best cover, but I figured I'd just put the cover for the first issue. I really didn't notice the potential sodomy until you said so and now I will have an even harder time looking at that cover. -

Alright, my next pick is a fairly popular book from the past few years. It only ran 50 issues before they wanted to put the characters in new books, but if that is too long let me know and I will try to figure out a smaller portion of it to do: Cable and Deadpool -

Just got a PS3 last week so I can try out the wonders of Blu-Ray. I've been picking up movies cheap and renting some and just checked out the Spiderwick Chronicles today. Not too bad, I just never realized that Mary Louise Parker was in it and was more surprised to hear Seth Rogen's voice as a character too. -
The other main star is Samuel L. Jackson. Ain't no curse gonna hold down Samuel L. Jackson. And rest easy, even after Samuel L. Jackson dies, the next four years will hold at least 150 more projects he participated in. It's sad about Hayes. I saw the Super Adventure Club South Park just a few nights ago and wondered still if there ever would be any reconciliation between Parker/Stone and Hayes.

This news is probably known by everyone, but it wasn't posted yet, so I figured I would throw it into discussion: Clippers are making moves, they traded a second round pick to Houston for Steve Novak and also signed "White Chocolate" Jason Williams. Seems interesting that the Clippers are signing two members of the 15-win Heat team in Williams and Ricky Davis before him. Fransisco Elson will be joining the Bucks. Nothing too exciting.

2008 movies to open with a PSA under $1,000

I was pretty humored by the Primeval marketing too, thinking it looked like a slasher flick. For the Meg Ryan one, are you referring to My Mom's New Boyfriend with her, Antonio Banderas, Selma Blair and Colin Hanks? I spotted that one recently and never heard of it. I would think that qualifies for a well known cast in StV. Another big name StV (I think it was) that I can think of was The Contract with Morgan Freeman and John Cusack. -
Everything I have read has put it as Saul. The movie was great and Franco was definately the highlight for me. It's hard to imagine it the other way around like it was originally planned with Franco as Dale and Seth as Saul.

Cool list, thanks for all the work. It was a fun read. I've seen and heard of some of these. Although I haven't seen it, How to Rob a Bank should get points for having Terry Crews in the cast as well. I probably would've seen the Vince Vaughn one in the theaters, but after seeing the trailers a few times before it came out, I never saw an actual showing at a theater around me. -
Weekend Box Office Report
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to bob_barron's topic in Television & Film
I think TDK will still be strong for a while. I went for my third viewing today and a 3:30 Sunday showing in the third week of release, there was not an empty seat in the theater. Pineapple may be the top in the box office this weekend, but TDK will still be putting up strong numbers for a while to come. -
