  1. I never was a big Lashley hater. I had been wondering when he would show up and this is a nice surprise, given I thought he was done with pro-wrestling seeing I was seeing MMA articles about him as headline news on Yahoo recently.

I just don't know about Foley. I used to be such a huge Foley mark and in the past few years, just got tired of him. Granted, I think he has been more entertaining in TNA than he was in the last stretch in E, but legend or not, given the talent roster in TNA, the guy holding there top belt is not only a guy that came over from the other guys not too long ago, but he was a color commentator for the other guys. Just doesn't seem right, but I guess I will wait and see where this goes.

  2. Hmmm... as much as the name Naked Brothers Band makes me question those in charge at Nickelodeon today, I will have to check this out. "Promised Land" made me laugh because I downloaded it for free not knowing what it was. When I was one of the 14 people to see The Rocker, I sat there trying to figure out how I knew that song and it hit me, the song by Will Arnett's band was on Rock Band.

  3. Just got around to playing this. Despite not doing to well with the controls and getting a little frustrated in some match-ups, I'm enjoying it. Probably solely because I am playing as comic characters that aren't likely to get a solo game. The one thing I do have to say is I had pre-ordered the collector's edition way back before even all details were announced and I don't really like the packaging. There is some cool stuff inside but the packaging just feels rather cheap to me, which it didn't seem that way on the outside.

  4. I finally have had time to catch up on my games, so I popped in this. I did the ReelViewer thing just to get the couple achievement points on it, but I couldn't find anywhere to delete the one I downloaded. I rather not take up space on my hard drive with it, anyone know if there is a way to get rid of it that I am missing?

  5. So, I am guessing this is the thread the throw this in, but I just picked up Front Office Manager off a clearance rack for $20 bucks. I didn't open it yet because I feel the game most likely will drop cheaper some point in the near future, but am still kind of interested in just jumping in. Thoughts anybody?

  6. I downloaded a bunch of new songs the other day. I saw a free one and downloaded it and it turned out it was from one of the kids on Nickelodeon. Oh well, it pops up in a game it should be an easy score with my limited talent at this game.

  7. My review was just a joke/parody of how Bob Barron used to review each show. I am trying to bring back some normalcy to the site since 90 percent of the posters decided to take their ball and go home.

Oh, no worries. I understand why a lot of people don't have faith in the show anymore. I was just throwing in my opinion to try to spark up some discussion.

  8. Not surprised to see 17 Again on top. I guess people are getting down on Statham as I know I haven't heard great things on his past few. I saw a preview for Crank 2 on a Blu-ray I was watching the other day and it seemed pretty cheesy, but I still have the first one on my "to watch" list, so I can't fairly judge.

  9. While the show is not anywhere near as good as it was in periods in the early days and early 90s, I think it has potential to get better these days. I think right now has the best cast and stuff that the show has probably had in the past decade. The early 2000s it got very unwatchable, now it can be hit or miss. There are somethings that have potential too, which I don't know how to change. I know I was watching the Seth Rogen show a couple weeks back and there was one sketch which was a great concept, but then after the concept, they just didn't know where to go with it. I was talking to some of my friends that said the same thing. I really like some of the people on the show, but out of the past four additions two of the four cast additions seem good (Elliot, Wilson) and the other two (Moynihan and Watkins) kind of make you wonder how they got on.

  10. Yeah, I was disappointed. I would figure that theme would be stock music, so I don't know the rules or anything on that. I still need to check out the Bushwhackers and Earthquake. For some reason all the downloads took so long for me, I was Smackdowned out by the time I got a chance to get everyone. Just tried out a couple and moved on.

  11. So I got the DLC 2 pack. Only used Doink and Vader so far. Was worried at first because Doink had no music or video, but when I used Vader he had his WWE music and video. Haven't tried the others yet. Nice little add-on for a few bucks IMO. Plus, there is a free update to use the DLC online, so maybe that means they are working on transporting them into the Legends game.

  12. Tazz has released his departing comments:

    Yo,

Well, after leaving WWE recently, I would like to make my first public comments here on the page. I would like to thank the Pro Wrestling fan base for the support through all my years with ECW & WWE! I especially want to thank all of you on this Facebook fan page from all over the world! I try to read most of your comments and I am truly flattered on how many of you supported what I did in the real ECW and my broadcasting accomplishments in WWE. Lets face it, after my debut at MSG vs the great Kurt Angle their wasn't much for me to "hang my hat on" as a wrestler during my tenure wrestling for WWE.

Now, I want to clear up some "true & false" for all of you....

    TRUE

-My contract expired the end of March and I had given my notice several weeks prior

-I ask WWE for my release to pursue other interest

-I offered to call Wrestlemania while I was not contractually obligated....and offered to call the show for free to the company.

-I have fulfilled EVERY obligation to the WWE, and pride myself on leaving the proper/professional way.

-On my way out, from Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn & Stephanie ALL treated me great...which was cool.

-I APPRECIATE all of the offers for appearances but right now I'm just doing very few appearances (if any). I'm gonna chill out and watch my kid hit baseballs.

-I am done wrestling. At 41 years old, several neck and shoulder issues...not happening. I would be a former shell of myself.

-I too have hated the extra "Z"

    FALSE

-Burnout (If anything, I'm more inspired & motivated now than ever)

Hopefully that clears up some things people were saying in regards to my situation. Also, I have had the opportunity of becoming friends with so many talented & awesome people within the WWE while working there for nearly 10 years and will miss many of them! I would like to thank the writers, road & studio crew and all the talent...especially guys I have a closer friendship with.

I especially want thank three of the main play by play guys I've work with.

    Joey Styles

-A dear friend whom I've been goombas with for 15 years and will stay friends with! I felt Joey never had a chance to truly be "Joey Styles" in WWE as an announce talent...that's a shame. But the announce style is completely different than anything Joey ever really did in the business....tough to adapt.

    Jim Ross

-The best of the best! True Hall of Famer and a man I respect and appreciate. I cannot thank him enough for all he has taught me as an announcer...as of recent JR & I were the Smack announce team and were doing a strong job in my view....we have shared some good times on many road trips as of recent...BOOMER SOONER!! And I'm a Nebraska Husker fan (lol)

    Micheal Cole

-One of my best friends...a guy that truly gave me the confidence to excel as a color commentator years ago in WWE...Cole taught me how to get over the talent, the storylines and get over the brand! He was the only one that had the balls to flat out say to me "its not about you anymore"...I respect that. Amazing work ethic, always would try to find a way for me to get over on him...zero ego & underrated!

I been hearing that Cole has been getting bashed by some on-line fans lately- check this out, if you work at McDonald's and your boss wants you to cook BicMac's...you than go and cook BIG MACS! Anyway, I look forward to working with Cole in the future in some capacity be it TV or Radio.

I want thank World Wrestling Entertainment and the McMahon Family for all the years and all the opportunities...they allowed me a great ride which I truly appreciate.

In closing, I've been in the Pro Wrestling business for 23 years and I don't plan on disappearing anytime soon.

I plan to make an impact real soon in this, the ultimate in businesses and keep it's honor....lol....sorry for crossing the line with my sophomoric humor! Survive if I let you.

    FTW

I post it here because I say it is clear that once his break is done, he plans on coming to TNA in a non-in ring role. Unless he is pulling a Jericho...

  14. I believe what Bonaduce said was Dixie Carter told him she wanted to put him on the pre-show to try and draw people into ordering the Pay-Per-View and he didn't mind because his main goal wasn't to have a big national media thing, he was moreso looking for attention locally in Philly.

  15. I'm liking the match-ups if they can stay where they were when I last looked at the standings.

In the East, I haven't seen much of them this year, but I am thinking the team that everyone would want in the first round out of the teams that are in right now would be Philly. I know Detroit isn't the same, but I still wouldn't want to run into them in a series.

I really think that Hawks/Heat could be a fun little series too, and interesting to see which one of those goes on to Round 2. I am sure the league marketing department is pushing for James vs. Wade, but I'd like to see the Hawks move along this year.

I usually root for the Celtics and the Suns, but seeing no Suns this year, the team I'd like to see do well in the West is Portland. Just because I like the guys on that team.

  16. Figured I would throw a thread up seeing as the show is a week away and this forum has been dead for the past week.

I haven't been extremely into TNA lately, so I guess the big news items would be:

Danny Bonaduce vs Eric Young is on for the pre-show.

They may be using a song that is around a decade old as a theme, but card is decent so far, with some solid build-up according to the next batch of spoilers.

Lockdown was probably regarded as one of, if not the best TNA PPV of 2008. Can this year match up?

Card to date, as made available on TNA website, is as follows:

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: MAIN EVENT FOR THE TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Hardcore Legend Mick Foley vs. © "The Icon" Sting

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: THE RETURN OF THE LETHAL LOCKDOWN

Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Booker T, Scott Steiner & Kevin Nash) vs. Team Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe & ???)

SIX SIDES OF STEEL: WORLD TAG TEAM DOMINATION - TITLE VS. TITLE

Team 3D vs. © Beer Money, Inc

X DIVISION XSCAPE MATCH FOR THE X CHAMPIONSHIP

Black Machismo vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Consequences Creed vs. Kiyoshi vs. © Suicide

    TNA KNOCKOUTS WOMENS CHAMPIONSHIP

Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love vs. © Awesome Kong

    QUEEN OF THE CAGE MATCH

ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt

NEW JAPAN JR. TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

The Latin American Xchange vs. No Limit vs. © The Motor City Machineguns

  17. That's true. I've just been so bored with Tazz in recent years, I just kinda forgot about him. I've heard a few things about maybe TNA before, but what role would he take? I think I remember him saying he wasn't planning on getting back in the ring. Would they throw him in with Tenay and West? They already have too manny authority figures and I couldn't really see him managing anyone.

You are probably right though. It's probably someone who held a World Tag title somewhere. Ken(ny Dykstra) Doane should be just about ready...

  18. Vince claims he was physically (by his dad) and sexually (by his mom) abused as a child.

I know, this is fairly common knowledge. I'm just astounded he's going to talk about it openly on ESPN

That's what I was thinking. I've heard it before, but I don't think there has ever been anything as in depth as this ESPN one is supposedly going to be. Same with Benoit. I don't think he has publicly even acknowledged Benoit to my recollection since it was confirmed Benoit was responsible for the deaths. I set my DVR up last night because I am curious. Same with the creative meeting and backstage segments, even if they are short, it is just something that hasn't really been seen much before.

  19. This Tuesday at 7:00 PM on ESPN, Vince McMahon is going to the guest on E:60. He is supposed to talk about being abused in his childhood as well as openly and "frankly" discussing the Chris Benoit incident from 2007, as well as including Stephanie McMahon taking the interviewers on a backstage tour showing all kinds of wrestlers behind the scenes. The cameras were also said to be allowed in a creative meeting.

  20. Taken from Rajah:

TNA Mobile subscribers received a message on Thursday stating that TNA is currently engaged in "intense negotiations with a former World Champion from another organization." The message said TNA is hoping to finalize the deal in time for the upcoming Lockdown PPV, which takes place Sunday April 19th from Philadelphia, PA.

Any ideas? I don't remember hearing of anyone coming soon...

  21. I thought I had read most of this thread and don't think I saw it mentioned anywhere, but I was reading a recap of JR's blog and he made an apology about a comment he made about Heath Ledger during Rey's entrance. He apologized for offending anyone saying he didn't mean it, he was just so overwhelmed during the show and stumbled and said something he shouldn't have. I hadn't heard anything about this until then. Can anyone fill me in on what he said?

  22. I don't get on my X-box a lot these days, but I got on last weekend to play and had seen the DLC was finally available. I had been saving points for the DLC since like December so I purchased it and it acknowledged my purchase but wouldn't download. It gave me some error message and said it would attempt later. Haven't been back on since, so we will see how it goes.

As for DLC 2, I am always for more people. When I was searching to see if I could find pics or anything, I saw things with people complaining. I'd like these characters, I'm just doubting I will ever see them for my X-box.

  23. 12 Rounds still did a little better than I was expecting. Number 7, $5 million, still did better than Miss March which had a ton of ads for it everywhere. I saw it advertised on a lot of game broadcasts, if you watch the Whitest Kids U Know, they did stuff after the show similar to all WWE's 12 Rounds pushing.

This film also opened on less screens than Marine, I don't know how many to compensate for the difference, but this one could very well be like Marine where it will make a lot of money on DVD, especially now with Blu-Ray a little more "common". I know that I won't be rushing to the theaters to see this, but I will check it out on DVD. Marine was entertaining enough to give this one which seems similar a try.
