  1. I rented it and wouldn't have hated getting my pre-order. Although somewhat repetitive, and as Scroby said, somewhat awkward, but not bad controls, I actually enjoy it. I didn't look closely into the game so I was happy to see I could be Shark Boy. It's been a fun rental and I plan on picking it up eventually still.

  2. How have I not heard about Blindness until seeing a commercial for it tonight? It looks good.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this coming out. I was supposed to read the book for class. I never ended up reading it, but the whole premise seemed pretty cool. The book won some awards despite being written without punctuation. If people plan on seeing it and want something else with it, there is a free ticket for it if you buy a brand new DVD or Blu-ray copy of Smart People. I picked up the Blu-ray since I had interest in both movies, although I haven't gotten around to watching SP yet.

  3. Interesting. I wanted Hardy to win, but was thinking that Henry would steal it from Matt last minute to extend the feud to one more "face chase" PPV match-up. Guess it was more important to establish the match style and make the other titles seem threatened. Although it is the ECW belt, seems weird that Matt has now held a higher title than Jeff. Now as long as HHH drops and Punk retains, this could all be very positive.

  4. I was really looking forward to this and had it pre-ordered, but cancelled in the past few days after reading this. I still plan on getting it, but I figured with all the glowing reviews, the price will most likely drop soon and then I will get it. Kind of like I did with the Lost game. I held off for $60 on release day and ended up getting it for $14 a couple months later.

I had the pre-order from Amazon.com, where they gave you an exclusive code to unlock and use Mike Tenay. I was already envisioning Hernandez giving him the Border Toss for hours on end.

  5. According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, former WWE Superstar and ECW World Heavyweight Champion, Justin Credible, is now working as a cook at an Olive Garden in Waterbury, Connecticut.

Credible, who also wrestled in the WWF as the "Portugese Man-O-War, Aldo Montoya" in the mid-90s, was released from his latest stint in WWE in September 2006.

I was just at Olive Garden tonight and the menu says all Olive Garden chefs are sent to a school in Italy for training. I wonder if Credible was on a WWE Tour of Italy, which would be ironic, seeing years later Olive Garden would send him to Italy to teach him how to make a Tour of Italy.

I had heard of Credible working at Target in the past and Shane Douglas had left TNA and joined the Target management program last I heard.

  6. I'm not sure if this is what you guys are talking about with the K-Mart double disc deals for recent PPVs, but I noticed a print ad noting that the previously UK-only concept of "Tagged Classics" is in the US now with a "Backlash 2003 / Judgment Day 2003" package (THOSE are tagged classics?). No Way Out 2003 is involved in this somehow too but I forget what exactly all the pairings are.

I'm pretty sure the No Way Out comes with Royal Rumble. I remember seeing them and thinking they did the first few of 03, skipped Wrestlemania, then resumed. I think I've also seen No Mercy 02 with No Mercy 03 and I think maybe Unforgiven 02/03.

  7.

I was shocked to see that, and then when I went to read another article on it, I saw Wayman Tisdale had part of his leg amputated today. Bad day for 80s/90s NBA players. As someone who had all the cards and knew weird things about just about every player from that era, between these and Vincent Askew getting arrested for "To Catch a Predator" like acts the past few weeks have been strange.

  8. I was thinking a scramble would work for ECW due to the whole Miz/Morrison interaction with Henry/Hardy before Summerslam, but I don't like

    no Morrison

    in the match.

Out of the team, I rather have Morrison than Miz

, but I think both should be in the match.

    Finlay

, in kayfabe, had a shot at the Smackdown one and lost, but still they need a face. Meanwhile,

    Chavo

has been just jobbing to Evan Bourne and watching his bodyguard job to Evan Bourne, there is no reason for

    Chavo

    to be in the match.

  9. I never knew that Best of 2001: Viewer's choice was rare, I bought that for like 12-15 bucks AFTER the WWF became the WWE. I know Mania 17 is up there, but what's the going rate for this DVD? It's really nothing special to me, that's why I'm kind of shocked it's worth something.

Oh, yeah, I remember Best of 01 being fairly rare early on for a couple reasons. Not many people picked it up right away because it was mostly matches from PPVs, that they could pick up on the other DVDs (which is why I didn't get it), but now it is the only release that has the HHH/Austin vs. Jericho/Benoit match.

  10. Is Impact live tonight? I don't see spoilers around anywhere..

They were in the thread with last week's spoilers.

This week's spoilers are in the thread for last week's spoilers. I had to ask in a different thread because I couldn't find them either.

As for Gail, good for her that she will be getting a better pay day and better exposure. I hope she us put as one of the top in WWE and not an afterthought. Just which brand? Smackdown could use her workrate to help establish the new title, but RAW is desperate for faces in the Divas. All they have is Mickie and Kelly Kelly. It seemed like Mickie isn't feuding right away with Beth right now, could that mean right into Beth/Gail?

  11. There is a straight to video sequel to The Scorpion King coming to DVD Tuesday (the 19th) starring Randy Couture. I don't think WWE had anything to do with the producing this like the first one, however, I got to have an advance look at the Blu-Ray copy today and the music on the DVD menu is Hardcore Holly's old theme. Kinda made me chuckle.

  12. So, my friends and I are having a contest to see who can see the most 2008 movies.

One of my friends saw Tell No One, a French thriller released in 2006 in France and across Europe in 07, that got released in the US in July 08.

He says it should count as a 2008 movie because it's a 2008 movie in the US since that when it came out in the US, my other friend is calling BS saying since it's a French film, released in France in 2006, it's a 2006 film and thus doesn't count

Besides the fact that we're all sad and pathetic for arguing this, who do you think is right?

I'd say that while it was a US Theatrical release in 2008, it does not count. If you look into it, it had been available on DVD in 2007. The DVD was not just a region 2 release, but there were releases in Canada to DVD in October 07, which means, although it would have taken some work, it could have been viewed in the US Pre-2008, therefore, IMO, does not count. Granted, that view could be argued too, but I would think that any movie that there was any opportunity to have seen pre-2008 should not count in that kind of contest.

  13. I mean, there is only, one generally well reviewed Batman game and that was for SNES?

    WRONG!!

-Adventures of Batman and Robin for Genesis is a freaking hard game but technically amazing with solid gameplay.

-The original Sunsoft Batman The Video Game is really really good (with an awesome soundtrack, too).

-Batman Returns (SNES) is a solid Final Fight-ish beat 'em up that got good reviews.

-Batman Rise of Sin Tzu for GBA is a really good platformer/beat 'em up in the vein of the SNES Batman TAS game. Heck, the game that came before it (Batman Vengeance on GBA) is a pale, below-average copy of that SNES game.

-There are many that consider the NES Return of the Joker a classic. I found it too freakin' hard to really enjoy, so your results may vary.

Although the games are more often bad or mediocre, like most licensed games.

I wasn't sure, but thanks. The only one I ever heard glowing reviews on was the Adventures of Batman & Robin. I never really pay too much attention to reviews. I used to love Batman Returns on SNES, didn't realize it was well-liked. I also have a soft spot for the PS2 version of Sin Tzu. I used to love that game and knew no one else who had played it.
