The MsChif vs Kong match makes me wish my most recent order from ROH was here already. SHIMMER vol. 9? Yes please.
-
Just started showing this in the UK last week. A friend of mine had been ranting about how great it is for a while now, so glad I made the effort to watch it. She'd played me some of the songs individually and they just work so much better in the context of the show. Only up to episode 2 at the moment and it sounds like it only gets better.

From what I've seen of SHIMMER Cheerleader Melissa and MsChif are two talents to definatly keep an eye out for. They had a series of damn fine matches against one another.

Here's mine, have had my Wii since June but only got around to finding out my Wii number today. 4644 9467 4627 2670

Any word on who his opponent will be in his debut?

I'm glad Joe is finally getting his shot in a major Japanese company. If I remember rightly, wasn't he really down on wrestling for a while when he was getting no interest from the orient?
-
Ghostbusters was my absolute favourite thing as a kid. Everything I had was Ghostbusters: bed covers, all the toys, lunch box. MY mum even got me a jumpsuit with the logo on it made for me. It was pretty ridiculous/brilliant. I'm not sure I like the sound of another sequel being made. I don't want anything done to further tarnish the good memories of it for me.

I'm not suprised either of them are staying. Both of them -shock horror- like making money from wrestling. It's clear they canan make good money and wrestle shorter, less physically intensive matches in TNA than on the independents. Joe making a joke that he tripped over some bad booking to elicit a pop in front of an ROH crowd is hardly bad mouthing the company is it? I'm certain people such as Kip James have said far worse things.

Although I'm far from a being a fan of football, just thought I'd add that my home town will be on this game having been promoted last season. I know a lot of people that are getting excited about managing Salisbury to the top. It'll only ever happen virtually, so their excitment is justified I feel.

Granted I don't follow PWG as much as I would like, but it seems odd to me putting over an outsider in one of your biggest shows of the year. Is CIMA around that much?
-
Well, I'd be pissed too if people came to where I worked and started petitioning that I be canned. Actually, I'd be quite happy to be let go so I can move back to Cardiff already.

Really enjoyed the festival suprisingly. It was nice as I had time to breathe this year as there wasn't bands on every second of every day that I needed to watch. Stand outs for me include: Eagles of Death Metal - Third time I've seen them in a calander year. Saw them for the first time on Carling stage at the festival last year. Their act got over huge on the main stage. They've got a new album due before next years festival, so wouldn't be suprised to see them again next year. Gogol Bordello - Again, saw them last year. Their act got over big on the main stage as well. Good for them. One of the most entertainly live bands I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Shame they couldn't crowd surf one of their dancers on a bass drum like last year. Patrick Wolf - Damn that boy can sing. I like his style too. Magic position was a true delight to hear live. Datarock - Sooooo good. Took a friend who considers himself punk and spent all day Friday at the Lock Up stage to see them and he couldn't help but love them. Their encore of dancing through the crowd and dancing to 'The Time Of My Life.' !!! - Oh man can these guys (and girl) put it together live. Their drum set up was probably the craziest I've seen in person. LCD Soundsystem - This was the shortest set I've seen them play. Their second to last song I didn't even recognise which I thought was odd, being that it was a short set figured they'd do all their known tracks. No sign of 'NY I Love You.' Closed with 'Yeah' Love that track so much, the build is delightful. This was the one act of the weekend that I managed to drag everyone from my campsite along to. None of them were dissapointed even my punk friend who'd never heard them before. An aside: Allot of my friends associate 'Daft Punk Is Playing at My House' with me. My friend Becca said that she loved getting to dance to it with me and see how much I was loving it. Thought that was quite nice. Towards the end of the set I got shouted at by this girl near me to stop dancing. Thought that was complete bullshit. You don't go see live music and then get angry because someone near you is having a good time. --------------------- Arcade Fire were a let down for me, probably because seeing them in the tent in 2005 was quite possibly the most perfect musical experience I've had, there was no way they could top it. This was definatly one of my favourite years in terms of socialisng. Made a ton of new friends which is always good news by me. Still a fair bit of gas canister explosions and tent burnings this year. Sad to see. Such as massive waste and danger. Oh well. I was in Green camp and that always seems to remain fairly safe, well, in comparison to say Yellow or Brown.

It's safe to say the quality of the stable names in this feud hasn't gotten any better. 'The Vulture Squad'? Ouch.
-
Here are the results from the NY show, Manhatten Mayhem II: Didn't see these posted anywhere, people that wanted to find them out probably have do so already. Thought it might provoke a smidge of discussion though. Looks like they're finally trying to reignite the stable wars. Although I haven't seen any of it, from whats been reported up until now, it sounds like it has been pretty dire. It pleases me wholeheartedly that the Claudio push is still ongoing. He was just so lost after the whole WWE mess. Glad they're really using him now.

God damn, for some reason Freya on expert kicked my ass. After about 20 attempts I finally managed to get through it.

I know two different people that have all that HIM shit tattooed around their hips. Idiots.
-
Finally going to see it tonight. Huzzah!

Man oh man that sucks, you poor devil you missing the second half. I really do love by the sounds of it, everything that Hero/Sweeney have got going on. Brilliant. Hero needs to be elevated to proper M/E status in ROH as soon as possible, clearly.
-
Yeah that's the 'MMA Elbows.'

Second. I still have a lot of shows to get to catch up. I sometimes hate myself for being such a stickler for continuity and wanting to get all the shows (unless they're real stinkers.) The newest show I have is Anarchy In The UK, and I only have that because I was there (sat directly opposite the hard cam. It's pretty fun watching my own reactions to the show.) Before that I'm only up to Weekend of Champions pt. 2.

2007 sounds like another brilliant year for ROH shows, this being now exception. Really makes me sad that I'm so far behind with my collection.

Playing EWR with TNA at the moment. Champions: TNA Heavyweight:Samoa Joe. Just started a short feud with Abysee who has just come off a two month long feud with Raven, Raven was trying to get him to join Seretonin promising to help him battle James Mitchell. Abyss refused. Abyss came out on top in the end. By virtue of his impressive wins over Raven and a victory over Kurt Angle he has been named number one contender. X-Division: AJ Styles - Stole the belt out from under Low Ki who had taken the then double champion Samoa Joe to the limit in two matches that went the distance on Impact. Now battling Low Ki for the title. Tag Team: Motor City Machine Guns: In the midst of a three way battle for the titles with Team 3D and LAX. Similar to the Hardys/E&C/Dudleys feud from 2000 WWE. Each team being potrayed as eqaul to the other with the titles not staying put on one team for too long. Likely leading a round robin with the winning team becoming undisputed tag champions.

It's Dustin Rhodes playing Black Reign. That's got to be bad news for TNA, with all the hype this Pacman thing has been getting they must have been expecting at least a small climb in the ratings. Looks like 1.1 is their peak. Too much talking, not enough action for me this week. Way to make your champion look credible, have him badly pretending to cry all show long.

Card for the weekend is thus: Night One Night Two It's been a while since ROH have done a big tournament like this. Should be two nights of good solid action. No Morishima title defences, yet the cards are still very stong. I like the sound of $10,000 challenge. Gives those chosen a real reason to fight, rather than just being thrown out there. I'm guessing either Danielson & McGuinness or Strong & Aries as the two team captains. I'd really like to see maybe a Hero/Claudio final to really cement the two of them as main players in ROH. Both have had a lot of face time in ROH, but neither is really seen as real threat to the title at this point. Could winning this tournament change that? Also, have these two really done much since the KOW split? It doesn't seem like Claudio has come even close to getting back at Hero since. Thoughts?
