TNA Maximum Impact Tour of the UK

Word is last night at a show in Birmingham, hey announced a UK PPV sometime this year. I'd sure sure make the effort to go along to that.

    Fallout 3

There was a ridiculous number of Super Mutants blocking my way to GNR. It took a long time to pick them all off, but I eventually just about did it. There was a Behemoth who I just had to run from though. Considering it's the Brotherhood's mission there to keep the ruins free of Super Mutants, they're doing a terrible job.

    Fallout 3

It's the Survival Guide missions that I've been pushing through with that have meant I've always had something to do. Whilst doing those quests I've found a lot more locations than I did when I was bad, meaning I've had lots of other things to do. To get to GNR, do I have to go through the Metro tunnel? As the map doesn't appear to want to let me go above ground.

    Fallout 3

I restarted my game as I felt like I'd missed out a lot by blowing up Megaton straight away. I'd gotten up to about level 6 in that game, but was finding it really hard to progress. It's much better now I'm taking my time with everything I think.

    2009: The Year in Music

I'm very much looking forward to Art Brut's third offering, which I believe is out in April. They're had Frank Black.Black Francis/Charles Michael Kittridge Thompson IV/whatever you want to call him producing this record. I'm interested in seeing if he has had any real impact on the sound of the record.

Just got my Xbox for Christmas. My Gamertag is Garth Green.

    Xbox 360

I got an Xbox 360 yesterday, and I think I already need to send it Microsoft. I was playing Rockband for a few hours yesterday and then I got a disc read error out of the blue. I followed the instructions and ejected the disc to give it a clean to notice a perfectly circular scratch on the disc. I can still sometimes play the game for a few songs, but will then get the error again. Is this a recognised problem with the Xbox? I'm assuming I'm going to need to call Microsoft tomorrow and get it fixed. It's so annoying that this was my Christmas present and I haven't even got a full day of play out of it.

    Let's talk Belle & Sebastian

The first B&S album I heard was 'Boy With The Arab Strap', I liked it enough to seek out more of their stuff. So, whilst it's not up there compared with how good a lot of their other stuff is, I still have a bit of soft spot for it.

    The 2008 Pitchfork 100

For the Heat equivalent, I'd take a stab at it being pretty close to The National Enquirer. Both appear to be horrible rags, just one is made of shinier paper. NME is truly terrible though, it pains me that one of my friends is there for work experience at the moment. Nothing will convince her that it is not brilliant. Speaking of Los Compesinos, I went to university with Gareth the lead singer. He was the head TV cricket for the student magazine. He was nice enough, but I always got the impression that he thinks he's a lot smarter than he actually is.

The Smart Marks Greatest Song of the 60s Tournament

Out of those four, it has got to be 'God Only Knows' for me.

    Homicide and Dan Maff

Another Homicide thing that has been a bit hush hush, a few years back he was scheduled on an ROH double shot. He performed one night, i think, and the next night couldn't because he'd banged up his hand from punching something in the hotel. or some such. What was the deal with that? Was there much more to it than I already stated?

    Major Shakeup In ROH

-ROHWrestling.com Did that come from nowhere, or what? I never thought that Gabe would leave, ROH has been his baby for a long time now. I can't really imagine why he would leave. Creative burn out, or forced out maybe? Who knows. It'll be an interesting ride for ROH in the next few months, that's for sure. I haven't really been following ROH as much as I used to recently, maybe a major creative shake up is just what's needed.

    The Concert Thread

I really want to see Byrne when he's in the UK next year. Broke right now, but picking up tickets as soon as I get paid next month. Have fun tomorrow night Bps, I look forward to hearing how the show is. The next thing I'm going to is Slipknot, in London on Monday. A friend had a spare ticket and I fancied a day in London, maybe hit the Tate Modern, or possibly another museum if my friend doesn't fancy the Tate. So long as it's free, I'm game.

    Christmas music 2008

My favourite Christmas song in recent memory.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I'm loving Sparks at the moment. Having owned Propaganda for a while and thoroughly enjoying that, I recently acquired Kimono My House. After listening to Kimono My House and revisiting Propaganda I have decided that I want more Sparks in my life as they are wonderful. If there are any Sparks fans round these parts, can you tell me where is the best place to head now. They have such a wealth of material I'm just not sure where to jump in.

Your five favourite guys/teams right now.

If we're talking just current it would be: - Chris Jericho - THE Brian Kendrick - Evan Bourne - Age of the Fall (Black & Jacobs) - CM Punk Since Jericho has donned the suit and been more serious he's just been gold. His reign was criminally short. At least it was better than the last one. Kendrick is just great. The music, the attire, the attitude - I love it all. Bourne has just been the most exciting thing to watch on WWE tv in forever. No one else is doing anything close to what he's doing at the moment. It's just such a breath of fresh air. AOTF I find to be a fun tag team, both can really go in singles as well. I like their poser revolution schtick. Punk I just love because I've been following him since he started in ROH, it's just so much fun seeing a wrestler I'm emotionally invested in succeed.

    Major Shakeup In ROH

The new approach they're looking to take sounds good to me. I think a little more variety and clear cut faces/heels without removing the match quality would be good news for ROH. I haven't bought an ROH in about 2 years now. I've bought more SHIMMER in that timeframe than ROH. I'll likely pick up some of the new DVDs once the new style is in effect to check it out.
  21. As someone who started watching wrestling regularly as of January 2000, I feel like I have missed out on a lot of great wrestling. I was hoping some of you guys here might be able to help me out by suggesting either matches/angles/whatever in the history of wrestling that would be essential viewing. For example, I can count the number or Bret Hart matches I've seen on one hand. This needs to be rectified. What with living in the era of youtube/dailymotion/pwtorrents I have no excuse not to get more to grips with wrestlings history. I know I could easily hunt down some stuff on my own, I would just like to hear from some other fans what they consider to be essential viewing. Ideally I would like suggestions to include the key moments in the build up to matches. I feel it would be far better to be able to put anything I watch into context rather than simply watching standalone stuff.

    All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

Agreed. Makes me glad that I traded barely anyone from my roster. Just to rub it in, why oh why did you get rid of the Saints, Franchise?
  23. Having watched a few of the '97 Raw episodes, I really like the hour format. Maybe it's just the way shows were booked back then but everything seems really focused and the matches get plenty of time. It's very watchable. I'm devoting today to watching as much as I can.
  24. I've been a bit busy lately, but have found the time to try and watch some more stuff. So far I have got hold of the January 1997 Raw and Nitro episodes. Have been really enjoying watching those. Going to try some of the other stuff that has been recommended here in the near future as well. I will keep updating this with what I enjoyed/what I didn't

RWF - The Countdown To WrestleRoyale

Your next contest is an 8 Man Tag Elimination Match with a 1 Hour Timelimit vs and The Kartel Eddie Kingston, Carlito and The Headhunters vs. Jonny Storm, Martin Stone & The Kartel This match is the decider of the world cup of wrestling. Each of this years competing teams have fielded two singles wrestlers, one tag team and one female wrestler. All of the singles, teams and females have faced their opposing number in a round robin tournament. The leaderboard as it stands has Puerto Rico leading by six points. With Great Britain in second, Japan in third and America in last place. There is still everything to play for, as if Britain win they can take home the trophy for their country. Whilst if Puerto Rico take home the victory they will not only gain the trophy but also take an embarrassingly large lead over the other teams. This would be a huge let down to the British fans here in attendance tonight and the GB team will be fighting tooth and nail to send the fans home proud. This would be a huge accolade for PR to win being such a small nation, but with such a rich wrestling heritage it is not completely unexpected and with the sheer size of the Headhunters on their team how can they fail? Find out tonight who will walk way with their heads held high carry a bloody great trophy and will be leaving the stadium with the wooden spoon? Find out next!
