One more thing, going forward I'm leaning towards changing how I will assign replacements for the remainder of the season. See the problem with assigning a similar ranked player to Oregon State and Connecticut right now is that a Top 10 player would sort of be competing with themselves for their ranking. So what I'm considering doing is pre-assigning a replacement picker each week, instead of a permanent replacement, each week based on a certain ranking in correct picks (i.e. 16th for Oregon State, 22nd for UConn). This would also include Michigan and Maryland. If anyone has a major issue with this idea reply with in the next 18 hours or so before I post the Week 9 thread.

Again as a reminder with what has happened this week teams that are on "probabtion" (Oregon State, Connecticut, Michigan, Maryland) will not be listed in the BCS rankings although they are factored in the rankings. Now partly because of what has happend it played havoc on the rankings this week and we have a couple of odd things going on. Currently there are five teams tied for 5th in correct picks and there are 14 teams at 4-4. These things have created plenty of CONTROVERSY~ for this week. As CanadianChris guessed correctly, Spiff's huge week has him on top correct picks and now on top of the overall rankings but by a very slim margin. nogoodnick's first loss of the year also happens where he picks poorly, in a week with several high scores, but he's still very close to the top spot. Edwin MacPhisto is the big winner this week with a huge jump into the Top 5. Will Scarlet's strong performance in a loss ends up helping him while Danville Wrestling's weak performance in a win hurts him. Oh and because of the drop outs this week...I'm ranked. OMG POSSIBLE COLLUSION??? The hard luck player of the contest right now is Ortonsault who has a five game losing streak despite being 4th in correct picks. Bored Championship Series Top 10 thru Week 8 1. Miami - Spaceman Spiff 5.6 2. Syracuse - CanadianChris 5.8 3. Virginia - Edwin MacPhisto 6.0 4. Oregon - nogoodnick 6.2 5. Hawaii - Will Scarlet 8.4 6. JESUS CHRIST STOP WITH THE CLOSE UPS OF THE FANS! Tiger fans are dissapointed, we get it.
-
After a day filled with close, exciting games I guess it's fitting the best match-up on paper has turned into a laugher. Clemson has a real shot to run the table into a BCS bowl.
-
Idaho scores a touchdown but can't convert the two point conversion, 28-26 Boise State with seven minutes to go. Looks like Wazzu will hang on for the first real upset of the day after a lot of close calls.
-
Ugh, Cal wins. Oh well that will just make Stanford's shocking upset in the Big Game for their first win of the year all the more sweeter. I wanna cry. Although I'm not liking the results this has been by far the best Saturday of the year.
-
OMG WASHINGTON HAIL MARY TIES THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously flip over to FSN right now to see the replay as it was a tipped ball. Incredible.
-
And UCLA blows it and probably hands Notre Dame a BCS bowl while also keeping their very slim BCS title hopes alive.
-
GO HUSKIES!!!! 17-13 UW, without Isiah Stanback, over Cal in the 4th. Also of note UCLA up 17-13 on Notre Dame, under five to go.
-
Annnnnnnd folks we have a new record, Michigan State wins 41-38. And the announcer calls it "one of the greatest comeabacks in Michigan State history." Uhhhhh...
-
Northwestern has blown a 38-3 lead and Michigan State just intercepted it in Northwestern territory. This would be a new record for greatest comeback in DI-A history eclipsing the Frank Reich led Maryland 31 point comeback over Miami in 1984.
-
Not that I can see it but Nebraska takes the lead with under five minutes to go.
-
Naaaah that already happened a few weeks ago. But looks like the Spartans might get back into this game.
-
Texans - 10 points Cincinnati N.Y. Jets Green Bay Jacksonville Buffalo Tampa Bay Pittsburgh Kansas City Cleveland Arizona Seattle Indianapolis Dallas

Since it will probably come up, no the Cardinals would not have the worst record of any team to reach the World Series if they advance. The '73 Mets were one game worse at 82-79 as they upset the Big Red Machine and then pushed the defending champion A's to seven games in the Series. I'm rooting for the Mets as they've been by far the best team in the N.L. this year and deserve to represent them in the World Series.
-
Oh I was wrong they aren't skipping the mid-day ABC games for us on the West Coast...they're skipping Texas/Nebraska. But hey we'll get to see Michigan destroy Iowa. Yippee.
-
Moving along, I'll use nogoodnick's picks for Oregon State this week. And if you're wondering since Oregon State would be on "probation" I won't rank them anymore although they would still be factored in the rankings. I'll use Loaded Glove's picks for Ohio State this week if Gert T doesn't show up.

Oh and btw...YADIER MOLINA!? Good lord the guy is one of the worst hitters in baseball and he's suddenly Clutchy McClutchy in the postseason.
-
I feel bad for the Mets. A team that dominates it's league like they did deserves to represent them in the World Series.
-
Okay someone shoot the guy playing the music in the stadium. It's Game fucking 7 in the 9th inning, you do not need constant backround music to help the atmosphere.

Princess Leena, Sex Machine Gun, Vampiro69 (I'll let them count), and Gert T are late with their picks. Since I had selected Kotz as replacement for UConn for the rest of the year insead I'll now use Ortonsault's picks for UConn. And yes I am aware of Leena possibly being gone for good.
