Fiesta is worth 27 points. Peach is worth the 4th most because of the quality of teams in it this year.
-
Good thing these games aren't televised, I didn't even realize they were playing today. I can't believe this. They returned essentially the same team this year that went to the tournament. They weren't very good last year but they certainly weren't bad. Losses to UC Irvine, Montana, and UC Davis? It defies all logic. Another 40+ year tournament drout on it's way? I think we've under estimated the greatness of Mike Montgomery and what he did with that program.

It's not just the BCS, it's the bowl system in general. It's all about who will draw the most fans rather than actual merit. The biggest joke in this year's bowl slections is N.C. State, who had losing record in conference and barely became bowl eligible, being picked for the Car Care Bowl (a joke itself) to play a glorified home game over the likes of Top 25 teams in Georgia Tech and Boston College. BC gets to go play a road game in Boise and GTech has to travel all the way across the country to play in San Francisco. It'd be nice if bowl selections were purely on merit...and just for the hell of it here's what the bowls could look like if they were assigned strickly on BCS ranking and assigned based on the higher payout for the bowl. I'll of course avoid matching up teams who played each other already. Rose: USC vs. Texas Orange: Penn State vs. Oregon Fiesta: Notre Dame vs. Ohio State Sugar: Georgia vs. Miami Capital One: Auburn vs. Virginia Tech Cotton: West Virginia vs. LSU Outback: Alabama vs. TCU Peach: Texas Tech vs. UCLA Holiday: Florida vs. Wisconsin Gator: Louisville vs. Michigan Alamo: Boston College vs. Oklahoma Sun: Florida State vs. Northwestern Liberty: Georgia Tech vs. Iowa Independence: Clemson vs. Minnesota Houston: Boise State vs. South Carolina Las Vegas: Fresno State vs. California Music City: Tulsa vs. Nebraska Car Care: Nevada vs. Iowa State Emerald: Toledo vs. UTEP MPC: Rutgers vs. Colorado Insight: Navy vs. Arizona State Champs Sports: Kansas vs. N.C. Virginia Tech just took a one point lead with one second left on Duke to cap a 12-0 run. Duke hits a near half court shot to win, unreal.
-
Yes, because it'd be a pain in the ass constantly checking back up on seeing everyone has made picks for every game. You have 16 days to submit picks so no rush.
-
One final change to the bowls, Music City Bowl sticks with Virginia and Georgia Tech ends up all the way down in the Emerald Bowl.
-
Well okay there's your first upset, Gator Bowl takes Virginia Tech over Miami. Not that Miami can be too broken up they get more money by going to the Peach Bowl.
-
"ESPN College Gameday Bowl Selection Show presented by Outback" Well that explains why the Outback Bowl is the only bowl that isn't really known yet. Let me guess ESPN will create some artificial drama the entire hour and not announced if it's Iowa or Michigan until the final segment. Okay nevermind they did it the first segment, Iowa gets the nod, Michigan will go to the Alamo Bowl.

There was really no cash to be thrown around. The Orange Bowl had nothing to gain by just handing Penn State to the Fiesta Bowl.

With Willie Tuitama at quarterback, Arizona is going to be a bowl team next year. Good lord ABC is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the BCS bowls that everyone already knows are going to be. Then ESPN is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the other bowls where the only suspense left is if the Outback Bowl will take Iowa or Michigan.
-
Some minor adjustments to the bowl schedule it regards to the ACC. Apparantly the Car Care Bowl is just going to say "fuck it" to the order of finish in conference and go local by picking N.C. State. Georgia Tech is now going to end up in the Music City Bowl, where Virginia was slated for a couple of weeks, and now UVA gets shipped across the country to play in the Emerald Bowl. Also the Outback Bowl might pick Iowa over Michigan.

The Gator Bowl had already pretty much made their mind that they are taking Miami regardless of what happens today. It looks like Va Tech falls to the Peach (which is actually a higher payout than the Gator) but it's conceivable they could fall even further than that as they might want to take the hometowm team in Georgia Tech. For now though I think they'll be thrilled with getting two teams were in the Top 5 going into the final week in LSU & Va Tech. If anyone is wondering in regards to LSU why they fall to the Peach is because the Capital One has pretty much settled on Auburn and the Cotton on Alabama so they were going to get the loser of today's game no matter what. Of course now if they recover the onside they could still win this.
-
Right now regardless of what happens in the Hawaii game, it looks APO will beat you out. If Fresno State shows up or if Northern Illinois doesn't blow it with 10 seconds left, you would have finished #2. I'll still wait until the end of the game Hawaii game late tonight to post the final results. teke will end up #4 but I'm gonna bump him out of the BCS as he'd end up playing a team he already played.

With Florida State likely to win now here's what the entire bowl schedule is probably going to look like. Teams in bold are already locked/invited to that bowl. What's amazing about this is coming into today the latest reports had FSU possibly being shipped out to Boise for the MPC Computers Bowl if they didn't pull off the upset.
-
If this holds up the Peach Bowl could end up with a Virginia Tech/LSU match-up. Quite the coup for them.
-
Hmmm somebody has been recording all the results I see. Yup your opponents were terrible. I wouldn't be so sure about the three-way tie thing. Unrelated, Oregon losing means that no bowl eligible team will be left out of the bowls.
-
Georgia has the SEC title wrapped up. There's a decent chance they'll be ranked below West Virginia in the BCS, although they'll get a big bump in the polls after a dominating performance so they might jump them. Who would have even thought there was a possiblity the Big East champ would end up higher ranked than the SEC champ?
-
And if you didn't think it could get any worse for the Pac-10...it just did. Arizona is down by 11 late against Houston. There isn't a Top 25 worthy team in the conference right now. Just awful.

Okay game over, Rose Bowl is decided, I'm creating the thread so and we'll see how long it takes to get closed.
