I've put in the results of the three finished match-ups and the picks based on the six games completed so far today. At this very moment this is how the Top 4 looks: 1. Miami 4.2 2. Alabama 5.0 3. Syracuse 5.1 4. LSU 5.2 It does look like Spiff will back his way into the Bored Bowl as their cushion coming into this week was just too big to lose. But you see it is way too close to call for #2 with the Mid South title game still to be decided.

The Conference USA title game is in Orlando so you'd know it would be a UCF partisan crowd but jeez it sounds like it's 99% UCF fans. Everytime Tulsa has made a play, including a touchdown just now, the crowd just goes silent.

And Fresno State scores on fumble return while LA Tech is trying to rundown the clock, pushing the total score (at the moment) to 55 and that means Syracuse has won the Big Atlantic title. This makes things verrrrrrrrrrrry interesting as the one sure thing going into this week was if Miami won they are going to the Bored Bowl. They might still as they had a nice little cushion over #2 thu #4.

The Liberty Bowl officials probably have murder in their eyes right about now.

Since it was brought up recently, the "Kansas State rule" where the Top 4 gets automatic bids to BCS bowls apparantly will be dropped next year. So if you are ranked #3 in the BCS next year but don't travel well it could cost you at least $11 million. Yippee.

Am I the only one watching the MAC title game? Akron takes the lead 31-30 with ten seconds left. They've never been to a bowl game.

I've decided that next year I'm going have the championships be played over week 13 & 14 and just have the regular season be 12 weeks. There's too few games going on those weeks and best to combine them to create more differing picks. Here's a Notre Dame nightmare BCS scenerio: Colorado beats Texas Georgia beats LSU Florida State beats Virginia Tech Texas drops to #3, Ohio State (or Oregon) jumps to #4, thus they get automatic bids as Top 4 teams which would supersede Notre Dame's status as an automatic qualifier. Notre Dame then would have to go to the Car Care bowl as the Gator Bowl already gave out it's invite.

Everyday players are much more valuable than relievers is why. The just don't pitch enough plain and simple. That's not to say I'd put Gary Gaetti in the HOF over Gossage but I'm personally not sold on relievers belonging in the HOF. Gossage is more deserving than any of them and I'd have no issue if he got in.

I don't listen to Dan Patrick, or sports radio in general for the most part anymore, but he has those dead air spots between sentences because his producer is feeding him his lines. This isn't that unusual in a lot of talk radio.

They were #7 in the final BCS standings before the bowls and the Top 4 rule wasn't put in until the following year. In that first year of the BCS Kansas State was snubbed at #3 and didn't get into a BCS bowl and that's why the rule was put in.

Only the Holiday Bowl because again like this year the Pac-10 second place team gets stuck with it if they don't get into the BCS. They beat Nebraska 23-20 who was #14 at the time. I'm thinking they should just make the game a January 1st game as nine of the last ten years a Top 10 team has played in it. Looking back the Fiesta Bowl was the title game that year so otherwise have to figure they would have been a natural at-large selection for it.
