Here is the first BCS (Bored Championship Series) Top 10. A note for those who are new, the preseason Top 10 has no impact on these rankings...actually strike that. There's a little issue with the 1st week here as six people won 9-8 which would create a six-way tie for #4 so I had to arbitrarily organize those six. But it is just one week so these don't mean anything. Again the ranking breakdown is: Win/Loss record (45%) Correct Pick % (45%) Correct Pick % Against (10%) Bored Championship Series Top 10 thru Week 1 1. Florida - AgentBond34 1.0 2. Maryland - MarvinisaLunatic 3.2 3. Kent State - JHawk 3.2 4. Hawaii - Will Scarlet 4.1 5. Notre Dame - Lando Griffin 4.1 6. Alabama - AlwaysPissedOff 4.1 7. Penn State - therealworldschampion 4.1 8. South Carolina - Cuban Linx 4.1 9. Arizona State - Spicy McHaggis 4.1 10. Auburn - Agent of Oblivion 5.0

Arizona State/LSU game is officially being moved to Tempe next Saturday.
-
ESPN is reporting that Barry Bonds might be activated tommorrow. Ugh.
-
News conference in a few minutes. 1549 receptions 22895 yards 208 touchdowns

I've decided I will wait until tommorrow night after Miami/FSU to post the Week 2 thread and just skip the Thursday game. Match-ups decided by Va Tech/NC State: #1 Minnesota (Vern Gagne) def. #2 Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto) San Diego State (Porter) def. #3 UCLA (phoenixrising) #9 Hawaii (Will Scarlet) def. USC (Cartman)
-
Just one match-up decided by West Virginia/Syracuse: #10 Notre Dame (Lando Griffin) def. Troy (Angel Grace Blue)
-
JHawk has 8 of 11 along with Marvin, Spiff, and AgentBond. Of course with Spiff and Agent having the same exact picks, Agent at this moment has the inside edge on the #1 ranking.
-
Texas/Ohio State will be nationally televised, along with Notre Dame/Michigan as usual.
-
God damn Auburn. Only two people picked Georgia Tech including my opponent. UTEP is crushing New Mexico State so safe to call that one. Here are the match ups decided: Ohio State (Gert T) def. #7 Stanford (Bored) Penn State (therealworldschampion) def. Nebraska (CarnivalizComing) Match-ups that can/will be decided tommorrow: Minnesota/Virgina UCLA/San Diego State Georgia Tech/Auburn Hawaii/USC Notre Dame/Troy Match-ups that can't be decided until Monday: Syracuse/South Carolina Oregon/FIU Rutgers/Illinois Buffalo/Connecticut

They don't when it comes to league leaders. Polanco can not win the A.L. batting title as he won't get enough plate appearances in the A.L. to qualify and only his A.L. numbers count for the A.L. lead. If a player is leading his league in batting average and is traded to the other leauge while already getting the minimum number of plate appearances to qualify, they can still win the batting title in the other league if no one passes them. That happened in 1990 when Willie McGee was traded at the waiver deadline from the Cardinals to the A's and he still won the N.L. batting title based on his numbers with the Cardinals.

What's to tell? Already explained it in the sign up thread. The correct pick pct against (aka strength of schedule) will only count for 10% of your ranking this year while win/loss record and correct pick pct will be weighted evenly (45% each). Right now I'm thinking I might not post the Week 2 thread until Monday night after all. There is a really shitty Thursday game next week, Oklahoma State/Florida Atlantic, and I'd like to wait out to see if a decision on ASU/LSU will be made by Monday. If I do this I'd just skip the Thursday game next week.

Woo hoo saved for the moment! I've had a shitty day but only one of three to pick Clemson. Only one match-up decided by the two primetime ABC games: Kent State (JHawk) def. Tennessee (Kotzenjunge*) * replacement picks by therealworldschampion Several match-ups won't be decided until tommorrow or Monday.

Closer than they probably should be games going on right now, all in the 3rd: Alabama 16, Middle Tenessee 7 Arkansas 28, SW Missouri St 17 Nebraska 12, Maine 0 Oklahoma State 15, Montana St 10 Iowa State 22, Illinois St 15 Kansas 12, Florida Atlantic 7 Maryland scored in the final minute to avoid an upset to Navy. Virginia was only up five against Western Michigan in the 4th before putting it away late.
-
Yup I think it's Colon's to lose at this point. Neither Buehrle or Santana's win totals will be sexy enough for the baseball writers. The two best pitcher's in the A.L. this year have probably been Roy Halladay and Rich Harden but both have been hurt.
-
Georgia burying Boise State, two match ups decided: Maryland (MarvinisaLunatic) def. Oklahoma (Damaramu) Alabama (AlwaysPissedOff) def. Northwestern (Kingofthe909)
-
Air Force beats Washington (woo hoo I'm 0-4 today!), one match up decided: #5 LSU (teke184) def. Washington State (bravesfan)
-
I nominate taking Cal's Top 25 spot away immediately for being up only 10-3 at the half against a bad I-AA team in Sacramento State. Sac State went 3-8 last year.
-
East Carolina beats Duke, one match up decided: Arizona State (Spicy McHaggis) def. Texas A&M (Secret Agent)
-
TCU is a solid team but losing at home when favored by 26 points probably knocks them out of the Top 20. They'll end up at about #22. Illinois beats Rutgers in overtime. I always kill myself with the upset picks. East Carolina 24, Duke 21, late 4th
-
Rutgers has blown a 20 point lead against Illinois. Looks like overtime.
-
TCU takes the lead. UAB only down seven to Tennessee in the 4th. For the pick 'em contest, East Carolina up 17-14 on Duke late in the 3rd.
-
It's on ESPN. Bowling Green's defense just can't match up against the Wisconsin o-line. Jacobs may have to throw another four touchdowns this half to win.
-
I had a feeling Bowling Green/Wisconsin might be the game of the day. Omar Jacobs throws his 4th touchdown of the half, tie game 35-35.
