What about Shreveport? It seats over 50,000.

One game already decided Florida (AgentBond34) def. Miami (Spaceman Spiff) by tiebreak They had the exact same picks, Agent was one point off the total score for tonight.
-
teke would know better but by all accounts they will play their big game against Arizona State next week. Really they almost have to as rescheduling one game isn't hard but rescheduling two could cause some serious issues. An additional note to something I posted earlier, Tulane will play fall sports after all. The football team will likely play their home games some where in Texas. U of A cuts Utah's lead to three with a little over nine minutes to go.
-
I think everyone can agree every team in the A.L. has glaring flaws that could cause them blow it in September.
-
I *heart* Al Leiter. Jorge DePaula too.
-
Tulane University is considering shuting down all fall sports for the remainder of the year including football due to the hurricane. San Antonio has made an offer to host the Sugar Bowl.
-
Arizona State scored on Temple with 36 seconds left in there game to hang on to a 63-16 win. Hmm piling on much?
-
Your I-AA team beating I-A team (sorta) Score of the Night: Northwestern State 27, Louisiana Monroe 23 ULM blew a 23-0 lead. Oof.

Couple of notes: -Tonight's game ended up having no meaning except in the two games were posters who didn't make picks yet. -Spicy McHaggis hasn't logged onto the board in over a month so I'm not expecting him to show up. After this week I'll offer Arizona State to Crimson Platypus since he did want to sign up but I had to leave him out, unless Spicy shows up. Kotz hasn't signed on the board in a few days so I'll assume he'll show up again and might make picks this week. -I already have the replacement picks for this week for Spicy and Kotz if neither submits picks. For Spicy I'll use AlwaysPissedOff's picks and for Kotz I'll use therealworldschampion's picks. I chose those two based on them having similar ranking last season. Those replacement picks will only be for the games Saturday and on.

They are hoping Crosby will return in a couple of weeks, at least he could be back for the final week of the season. Kotsay I figure should be back next week although always the chance his back problem will comeback which puts a bit of a damper on the contract extension. Harden is who I'm worried about as I just don't have much hope that he'll pitch again this year. Only thing that is going to keep him from being one of the game's dominate pitchers for the next decade is injuries and he's already been hurt three times in two and a half years. With the loss tonight, all five series between the A's and Angels have gone exactly the same. The team that won the first game of the series lost the next two. Obviously both teams should try to tank the first game of the their series the final week of the season....

In just about a month the 2005 college football season will kick off in Houston when Oregon travels to take on the Cougars. Not exactly USC/Virginia Tech but we'll take what we can get. Soooo for the next month for those desperate for some college football discussion well here you are. Here are my conference champion predictions for the season, none terribly original or surprising. ACC: Miami Big XII: Oklahoma Big East: Louisville Big Ten: Ohio State Conference USA: UTEP MAC: Bowling Green Mountain West: Utah Pac-10: USC SEC: LSU Sun Belt: North Texas WAC: Boise State

Oregon woke up in the 2nd half. This game is taking forver though. It'll be four hours by the time its over. Minnesota/Tulsa is already in the 2nd quarter. And UCF has actually made it a game.
-
This is the guy who ran up the score in his first preseason game as coach of the Redskins. I'm sure he will if he has the chance. Besides UCF is one of the worst team's in the country. They are a long way from when Daunte Culpepper was there.

Houston turning Oregon's defense in swiss cheese with 21 points in the first quarter. South Carolina scores on his first drive with a long touchdown pass.
-
Less than an hour from kick off in Houston and four people have not submitted picks yet: Cartman, Kotzenjunge, Spicy McHaggis, Matt Young. Any of them live in Louisiana or Mississippi?

Just a day after Rich Harden's season appears in jeopardy, find out that Bobby Crosby has a broken ankle. Fuck.
-
I'll post any PM picks I've received tonight. My picks Oregon Utah Bowling Green Rutgers Duke Washington Georgia Pittsburgh Clemson Auburn UTEP West Virginia Virginia Tech Miami Tiebreak #1: 53 Tiebreak #2: 315
-
Bobby Kielty, who is about as effective against right handers as I am, hits a homerun in the top of the 11th against K-Rod and the A's win 2-1.
-
Rich Harden had to shut it down after throwing 12 pitches on a side session today and he'll be skipped a second start. Reading between the lines I think the he might be done for the season.
-
As CanadianChris mentioned in the TWiCFB thread the Tulane/Southern Miss game has been postponed so I've removed it from the games to make picks for list. No one had picked Tulane yet so shouldn't make any real difference.

Although it is incredibly trivial at the moment, it just dawned on me that they'll probably have to move the Sugar Bowl this year to a different site with the damage done to the Superdome.
