Vinny Castilla led the N.L. in RBI last year with 131. He's fairly Schmoey.

What would the score be of a game of minature Derrek Lee clones vs. the '27 Yankees? Mini Lees 114, '27 Yankees -3.

Dallas Braden and Jason Windsor, not to mention Danny Haren in the Majors now. Daric Barton is the A's future first baseman and they have Dan Johnson currently.

Kotsay won't be traded as he won't be opting out of the last year of his deal, at least that's what I think. I doubt he can get more than the $6.5 million he'd be due to make. Also the A's have no need for a third base prospect with Chavez here until 2010 and have little need for a starting pitching prospect either.

I'm going to the A's/Phillies game tonight. I'll be sure to chuck batteries at Al's boy.

A 5.3 earthquake is nothing, just enough to make you feel it. I was at the World Series for the '89 quake, now THAT was an earthquake.

Fox should hire him for baseball.

Obviously the Yankees can't compete without a new stadium.

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article..._id=mlb#results Cesar Izturis takes the lead at shortstop, with David Eckstein 11k back. Really the only position with any suspense left in either league.

First place, bitches! I've yet to lose a match-up this season (tied twice early in the season) and outscored my opponents 41-10 over the last six weeks. Having three players in Yahoo's Top 10 rankings is nice.

The Red Sox should do their best Carlton Fisk impression for all six of the homeruns they are bound to hit off of Eric Milton tonight. Brewers have called up Prince Fielder to DH this week while they are in A.L. parks.

I don't know what's funnier, what Bonds said or Ron Kittle writing a book. http://www.dailysouthtown.com/southtown/ds.../pro/311sd2.htm

Nationals traded Tomo Ohka to the Brewers for Junior Spivey.
-
So they can trade him in two years for a 40 year old pitcher.

Al hacks into MLB.com online voting, Abreu moves into 3rd in outfield voting

N.L. ROY favorite Clint Barmes is out three months with a broken collar bone.

Hopefully this gets linked to the internet at some point. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file...MNGHQD1IOT1.DTL

New All-Star picks with current vote leaders as starters, the exception being N.L. shortstop with Nomar Garciaparra obviously not being available if he were voted starter. Also appoint a starting DH for the N.L., Derrek Lee being the obvious choice right now. This was much tougher this time around. Remember the All-Star rosters are 20 players, 12 pitchers, at least 4 being relievers. AMERICAN LEAGUE C: JASON VARITEK, Boston; Joe Mauer, Minnesota 1B: TINO MARTINEZ, New York; Mark Teixeira, Texas; Mike Sweeney, Kansas City 2B: BRIAN ROBERTS, Baltimore; Alfonso Soriano, Texas 3B: ALEX RODRIGUEZ, New York; Brandon Inge, Detroit SS: MIGUEL TEJADA, Baltimore; Derek Jeter, New York; Julio Lugo Tampa Bay OF: MANNY RAMRIEZ, Boston; VLADIMIR GUERRERO, Anaheim; ICHIRO SUZUKI, Seattle; Gary Sheffield, New York; Johnny Damon, Boston; Trot Nixon, Boston DH: DAVID ORTIZ, Boston; Raul Iabnez, Seattle SP: ROY HALLADAY, Toronto; Kenny Rogers, Texas; Mark Buehrle, Chicago; Jon Garland, Chicago; Erik Bedard, Baltimore; Bartolo Colon, Anaheim; Matt Clement, Boston; Kevin Millwood, Cleveland RP: Dustin Hermanson, Chicago; B.J. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2074677 Ocatvio Dotel is going to be out for up to two years due to elbow surgery. Thank god for Huston Street. At least Dotel isn't signed beyond this year but A's lose any chance to get anything for him in a deadline deal.

Here's the N.L. 1B: Albert Pujols (300k+ lead over Derrek Lee) 2B: Jeff Kent (100k+ lead over Craig Biggio) 3B: Scott Rolen (100k+lead over Chipper Jones) SS: Nomar Garicaparra (20k+ lead over Eckstein & Furcal) C: Mike Piazza (150K+ lead over Paul Lo Duca) OF: Carlos Beltran, Jim Edmonds, Ken Griffey Jr. (Larry Walker & Miguel Cabrera 30k+ behind Griffey) I imagine Nomar will lose his lead eventually, at least you'd hope. Doesn't see to be much drama in any other rest except maybe the final outfield spo.t

Turns out sfgate.com has actually posted the vidoes! I'm not going to post a direct link since they won't be safe for work.

Um ya retirement is probably a good idea right about now.

High school was okay, better than junior high, but you quickly realize how pointless the whole thing is. It'll be eight years next month since I graduated and I can count about two people that I wish I had stayed in touch with. Personally I wish I as back in kindergarten. Naps and all the paste you can eat. Can't beat that.

I heard today that Eric Chavez became a born again Christian this past offseason. That explains everything! When will athletes learn that Satan can hit a curveball better than Jesus Christ?
