Wow a bit of a shocker the writers actually, for the most part, got it right. Mariano Rivera finishing an overwhelming 3rd and Brad Radke receiving no 3rd place votes are the only quibbles

This week in College Football 11/9 - 11/13

Toledo beats Northern Illinois 31-17. I didn't even realize NIU was ranked in the Coaches poll. I was big on the MAC bandwagon last year but no team in that conference this year should be ranked. They have several solid teams but it's simply not as strong at the top as it was last year.
  4. Yes the week already starts tonight with a pretty good MAC match-up. If you want to talk about Oklahoma/Texas A&M please do it in the OaO Oklahoma Football Thread. National television schedule. Just one ABC regional time slot this week. Hey a Sun Belt game on national television this Friday, I know I'm excited. BCS Week 4 Standings

I didn't even notice this until I was looking at the full Top 25. What's amazing is the reason why they are so high is the computers. Here's what the Top 10 is by just using the computer averages: 1. Oklahoma 2. USC 3. Auburn 4. California 5. Texas 6t. Boise State 6t. Arizona State 8. Utah 9. Wisconsin 10. Michigan Everyone complains about the voter polls, with good reason, but are BSU and ASU really better than only five teams in the entire country? The problem is the practice of throwing out the highest and lowest computer ranking. This ain't figure skating, if your going to have all these computer formuals they should all be counted.

Bobby Crosby, Jason Bay named AL, NL ROY

How in the world did Daniel Cabrera receive more votes than Zach Greinke? Oh wait Cabrera went 12-8 and Greinke went 8-11 despite having an ERA more than a run worse and absolutely hideous strikeout to walk ratio. Baseball writers are clueless.

    BCS Week 4 Standings

Even though the game will be Austin I'd bet good money that Texas loses to A&M.
  9. Again as mentioned in the Week 9 thread I'm skipping over the Tuesday and Wednesday games. Yes the two Friday games are national t.v. games and not just games I threw on there. Now I did ligthen the number of low level games for Saturday I believe this week but that doesn't mean it's easier to make picks. Lots of tight mid level games in the major conferences this week. For Tennessee I'll wait another week before declaring them a dead team and allowing someone else to use their picks for them just like I did with Boise State. We'll see if Kotz is around to make picks. Obviously if it's a tie between two teams for second place the winner of their head-to-head match-up during the season will go to the conference championship. For three-way ties or even a four-way tie it will work like this: 1. Head-to-head results between the three (or four) teams 2. Overall records 3. BCS rankings

Damnit Stanford's bowl hopes go down the drain as ASU scores with nine seconds left to win the game. The hail mary at the end of the first half was just a killer. Stanford wasn't expected to do much but this season become a real dissapointment with all the promise early in the season but three tough losses that they could have won (Notre Dame, Oregon, and now tonight) have ended their hopes. They can still be bowl eligible by winning their final two games but that includes winning the Big Game against Cal and you can forget that. With UCLA being upset by Wazzu today there is a real chance the Pac-10 will only have four bowl eligible teams. The conference is just too damn even after you get past USC and Cal.

Yes Tennesse is still pretty much a lock for the SEC title game with Kentucky and Vanderbilt all that is left on their schedule. All today's loss meant is they have to win the SEC title game to go to a BCS bowl as their chances for an at large bid went out the door today. Notre Dame all but locks up the Gator Bowl with today's win. It's really annoying when Fox Sports uses home announcers for national telecasts. Watching Stanford/Arizona State and all the announcers can do is lick ASU's nuts even though they are losing. Texas is getting their ass kicked by Oklahoma State right now, 28-7.
