No one even pointed out the best part: That's all you need to know about the NCAA right there.

Clement is a free agent this offseason so Yankees won't have to trade anyone for him. In other news Jose Mesa is looking to do his own Operation Shutdown: I would think any team would be in trouble picking up Mesa regardless if he plays for them or not.

I've gone ahead and replaced Soylent Green is People, who had Washington State, with bravesfan as SGiP was a newbie and doesn't appear to visit the board anymore. I've already received bravesfan's picks by PM. Still seven people need to make their picks and I'll PM them since we're getting down to the wire on the deadline.

NBA TV is giving "The Sports Guy" Bill Simmons a chance to program NBA TV for this weekend and he's picked incredible line-up of classic games. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/040826

#13: Ripken tops Gehrig, takes lap around Camden

But he declared himself when it was ruled that you didn't have to wait three years after high school to enter the draft, all be it that was over turned soon after. He took advantage of the rules as they were and wasn't trying to get around the rules like Clarrett did. He's being punished for not breaking any rules. He'll live and still be a Top 5 pick next year but it's still unfair, especially for USC. I felt if he was reinstated you could pretty much book their ticket to the Orange Bowl right now.

You obviously didn't see the incident then. The Spain coach was being an asshole and showed a complete lack of sportsmanship. Brown seemed like he was going to ignore him at first but the Spain coach kept yelling at him.

Saw it live this morning getting ready for work, very entertaining game. The refs were absolutely atrocious and almost seemed arbitrary as to when they would call a foul or not for both teams. The Spain coach was being a complete crybaby after the game. If he was worried about the U.S. running up the score, which they weren't, then he shouldn't have ordered his team to keep fouling in the final minute when the game was already decided. This will probably turn into some lame controversy but the U.S. did nothing wrong.

Typical random baseball writer response to the above: "A-Rod obviously can't handle the pressure of playing in New York".

After being no hit into the 6th by Bruce Chen of all people, Marco Scutaro of all people hits a game winning three-run homer off of B.J. Ryan to give the A's a 3-0 win. Angels are up big on the Royals. This will make 11 straight days the A's have had a half game lead in their division.

Mildly surprised this didn't crack the Top 10 but I'm biased. #14: Montana hits Clark to win NFC Championship

With the no pinning rule I have to bump this as it's about to fall off the page. Only 15 of 32 posters have submitted picks.

It absolutely should be Santana at the moment but Mulder is probably going to win it even though there is absolutely no case for him outside of his win/loss record.
-
It should be Bonds but I bet Beltre ends up winning it.
-
Rivera will likely get solid support from the baseball writers.
-
I think Sheffield has a very good shot but he'll run into the same problem Manny Ramirez will have with splitting votes. I'd bet good money that Vlad will be the one who wins it.

Forget the Expos. I say all A's topics, all the time! Let me go create a topic on the career of Mike Gallego.

Damn just had to do it the week my contest officially begins. So this mean I can't create a weekly college football thread?

Serbia not even getting to the medal round might be almost as big as a surprise on the U.S. losing two games. Guess not having Peja is what killed them.
