AoO Division I-A teams only as it makes it much easier for me to put together the schedule.

Mariners released Rich Aurilia. Just puts a nice bow on the terrible offseason decisions Bill Bavasi made.

The problem with these cable t.v. lists is they have too many people picking what goes on the lists. They get 100 "experts" or more to submit lists and they just bunch them all together and the results typically make little sense. Also the problem with memories is what is memorable to one person, another person could not give a shit about. I will say this that there hasn't been too many moments that I felt had no business being on the list.

#60: Smart's jumper wins NCAA title for Indiana

I think that shows how bad the Indians bullpen is and how bad of a manager Eric Wedge is because really none of them are completely undeserving of being on the team. Poor Brad Radke though.

Okay found a USA Today article on Ford not being rookie from May: http://www.keepmedia.com/ShowItemDetails.d...10032&oliID=213

I know espn.com does list him as a rookie in the stats but he isn't. He spent too much time on the active roster prior to this season to be eligible. I'm trying to find an article that says officially why he's not eligible but best I can do is Peter Gammons making reference to him not being a rookie in his last column when discussing his choice for ROY to this point: Oh and do a Google news search of the term "rookie Lew Ford" and you'll find no reference. You will find plenty of "rookie Bobby Crosby" and "rookie Joe Mauer" mentions.

It's also kinda silly to say it will never happen again when you have examples of George Brett, Robin Yount, and Cal Ripken who all played in the free agent era. Also you have Barry Larkin now and even a Jeff Bagwell, who debuted in the 90's, who will both likely finish their entire career with one team. Edit: Less I forget Tony Gwynn, another player of free agent era, and Bagwell's teammate Craig Biggio.

Lew Ford isn't eligible, plain and simple. I'll save my picks for when the first hald ends.

I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have ESPN News and I'm pretty sure it's not available on basic cable anywhere as of yet. The anchors suck there too but at least it's just straight forward scores and highlights. I find absolutely no reason to ever watch SportsCenter anymore.

I can't take much more of the A's road woes. Dotel blows another save as he's been doing his best Billy Koch impression since the trade. I just don't get at all why this team is a complete 180 from home to the road.

A's activated Eric Chavez off the DL today and had an rbi single in his first at bat.

#61: Luis Gonzalez's single wins 2001 World Series

Guess that means Mulder will be starting for the A.L. since him or Schilling were really the only options.

God I never want to see the A's play in Fenway ever again. That place is just a house of horrors for them. Actually any game on the road for the A's the last two years usually isn't pretty.

Halladay should have been the Blue Jays rep but I think Vazquez was more deserving as a replacement. That being said Brad Radke would have been the best pick. Adrian Beltre or J.D. Drew should have the been the N.L. replacement.

Paul Lo Duca has replaced Sean Casey and Javier Vazquez replaces Tim Hudson.

#62: Hank Gathers collapses, dies of a heart condition

Just another reason for fan voting to be abolished. OPS isn't even that hard to figure out. It's On Base Percentage + Slugging Percentage, how fucking hard is that? Now if you want to get into Value Over Replacement Player (VORP) or Defensive Independent Pitching Stats (DIPS) then you actually have complicated formulas.

The Hall of Fame decides what hat you wear for the last few years now. He'll go in with the Red Sox as he should.

Belliard has an OPS 34 points higher than Soriano, who has a mere .686 OPS away from hitter friendly Arlington.

#63: Magic moves to center, beats Sixers for title

Tim Hudson has been scratched from his return start this weekend and won't be playing in the All-Star Game so that opens up a pitcher spot.

Lew Ford deserves consideration. Too bad Joe Mauer missed the first two months or he'd be the ROY. Ford isn't eligible. He missed the eligibily requirements by a few days I believe.
